Politics / Re: Igbo Youths Will No Longer Be Sacrificed For The North - Ohanaeze Tells Army by AtikuMeansJobs: 11:38am On Feb 27, 2020
Igbo Land can be better than Dubai, if these things are done

Igbo Land is made up of 5 South Eastern States, and some parts of south central states in Nigeria the people are characterized by their hard work and derive for success. No doubt they are ranked as the most industrious ethnic group Nationally and Internationally.

But, this region has remained grossly underdeveloped, with deplorable state of infrastructure and social amenities. This state of deplorable infrastructure has hindered most of the potentials of the region.

To change this narrative, the State governments, particularly Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo needs to form a synergy for a regional cooperation. There is a need to establish South East Development Commission or an Economic Forum, to formulate regional development polices to move the region forward.

Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, has shown us that, infrastructural development of a region is not a rocket science-It is 'doable'. The turn around in terms of infrastructure in Abakaliki and other parts of Ebonyi State, is something the region should adopt.

With the Umahi example it means that building an underground train connecting the South Eastern States is attainable, super highways and a regional stability in power is possible, Industrial parks, innovation centers, state of the art automobile centers in Nnewi and Aba is possible, world class health facilities and more are all doable.

Regional cooperation is the way...

Nigeria to me looks more like a broken coconut. Most ethnic groups aren't comfortable in the union. The lack of trust that's prevalent is unpresidented. Those who have made dialogue for restructuring impossible are indirectly pulling us apart from one another . If Biafra can make use of the social media positively, stop embarrassing her leaders, stop being craftmasters of deception and pursue their course with a better organized framework, I sincerely believe they have a strong chance of achieving their dreams. Needless to say the irresponsible conduct of the fulanis in Nigeria has irreversibly damaged project Nigeria. Regrettably, we all used to proud to be called Nigerians. Nigeria would have been better as one United entity no doubt but what happens when I cannot trust my ' brothers ' anymore ?

The fight for the actualization of an independent state of Biafra is an issue you cannot ignore if you are a Nigerian. Nnamdi Kanu, the charismatic leader of IPOB continues to make an impact in our national discuss and we all find ourselves deliberating on issues emanating from comments made by Kanu or his proxies every now and then. However, it's debatable if real progress has been made due to these engagements . It remains to be seen if there will be an emmergece of constructive dialogue with the rest of Nigeria. As things stands, the only ones who seem not to be seeing their wrongs and errors are the ones standing in front of a broken mirror. So what should be the way forward for Biafra ? The days of making bogous claims in the name of propaganda has been trauncated by the social media through wish the same agenda is disseminated.

Biafra should have a national dialogue of all ethnicity that is assumed to be part 'the rising sun' nation which they haven't been able to do as much effort is focused on saturating the internet with all sorts of bogous claims and assertions . The whole process seems to be driven by one man. Sometimes you even ask yourself, are these guys going to get a nation before they set their boundaries ? If succession isn't feasible what about regional autonomy ?

There should be a peaceful dailogue with the rest of Nigeria. Making inflammatory statement

Sinopec Group is probably one of the refineries where Nigeria refines its crude oil. The company currently owns the world’s largest refinery. In 2019, Sinopec Group made $414,649 Billion in revenue. Nigeria’s 2019 Nominal GDP is just slightly above that of Sinopec Group. The company headquarters is located in China and it is state-owned. Sinopec I only 21 years old, meanwhile, most African countries are above the age of 50.

the conservatives (APC) are obviously trying their best, as the incumbent government in power, unfortunately their best so far haven't been good enough too - dispositional sanctimony of conservatives never stop them from being selfish, hypocritical and greedy.

for a group of people to be United and progress together, there must be a uniting factor which unites them all and which they all put ahead of all their differences for a common good. This is how nations work.

Nigeria had vast resources that we thought would transform the country, but unfortunately, mineral resources alone, without its accompanying human resources don't build nations, Our wealth was stumbled upon and its sustainability was shattered when we don't know what we could do with it, instead of building infrastuctures for future generations, expand our economic sectors and massively invest in human development, we decided to build Ajaokuta steel complex ( which is not a bad idea, but a bad idea when no one had any idea on how to run it till date! ) we built the deterioriating festac out of nothing to host Festac 77, we paid politicians mouth watering salaries, over paid civil workers, corruption was at its apex... and we squandered those resources in an unexplainable manner

our pre-independence leaders were right....we do have abundant natural resources.

The problem is what we do with them. Most Nigerians think we should export them and share the revenue among ourselves. And that includes the restructure Nigeria people and the secessionists.

Whereas the right idea would be to use these resources to fuel our industrial development.

Nigeria is not rich. What Nigeria really needs now is to expand its economic base, we need to have more than 10 solid sectors firing all cylinders, i mean sectors that can employ a lot of people, instead of oil being d mainstay of our economy, build infrastructures from revenues from oil while building other sectors, invest in technical education, cut senators wage.... and we'll be alright.

Nigeria is a sovereign country with its own constitution, to achieve Biafra If has to be two ways:
Either by selling your ideas in a civil way and diplomatic negotiation with other tribes to get a call for referendum through a peaceful process OR through war if the peace path fails.

You either choose the peaceful diplomatic way OR the war path to achieve Biafra!

If you don’t want the war path, then you need to know your enemies and forge alliance with those that can still be your friends. You shouldn’t fight everyone but yourselves and think you will achieve your aim.

Till today, I don't understand the rationale behind the Nigerian Civil War. If the East had taken a chunk of the Midwest or West or those parts of the North having consanguinity with the Igbos, the war might have been justifiable.
The Eastern Region decided to pull out of Nigeria. They were not consulted before the British put this forced marriage together. They decided to leave after back and forth killings. There was no reason on Earth that could justify that war. They were not like Germany that took other people's territory.

Nigerians don't love themselves, they are just crying fowl play to south Africans, don't get me wrong i dont support xenorrubbish!!! but let's be honest with our buttocks, do we Nigerians love ourselves

if Nigeria is good, flowing with milk and honey what will our brothers and sisters be doing in south Africa in the first place

I think that the worm that is eating the vegetable is beside it and not from far away, rather than fight and blacklist south Africa, I think we should look inwards

a word is enough for the wise

There is absolutely no positive in this APC and Buhari government. Nothing is working, just lies, propaganda and corrupt media blitz. As it is now, we do not have NASS and Judiciary. Civil society is dead and the youth are docile. If Buhari decides to change the constitution to run for a third term, nothing can stop him. To some extent, this is very good so that our ZBs will be sensible next time.

I as a Niger Deltan am feed up of this resource control issue. For decades we've been asking for this to no avail.

I'm for One Nigeria but one born out of fairness, justice and equity. Our elders have really failed us.

What we need now is a referendum to vote for separation from Nigeria. Whatever name, weather biafra or whatever.

Anything is better than this shit hole of a country.

Whatever the price we must pay it for posterity sake.

Freedom they say is not free.

Now before now..many igbos ladies do marry yoruba's and other tribe..what's happening now..how many of those marriages do take place..nwa the truth is open to all now.

Most eastern companies own by igbos outside the country is gradually buying up lands for relocation..while some have relocated already..
Observe Nairaland of 2006.. when Seun started.. tribalism has always been there though..but it was all based on Biafra civil war..that was the bane then..today everything on nairaland has changed truth is out in the open..that's why you see actions and reactions..
Even the old gees has change moniker to be able to go tribally..
