RepoMan007:In the department of medicine and surgery alone, professors there are more than 20 and a sizeable number of them including head of departments are not northerners |
phranco:Sexual compatibility is very very paramount in marriage. And do not rely on hope to develop sexual attraction to her while in marriage..what if you don't? |
Scholar212:Those are ancillary investigations as far as those diseases I mentioned are concerned Mr lab scientist and not to establish the diagnosis. How many Eko hospitals are there in Nigeria..More than 90% of hospitals in Nigeria are small and medium scaled. What's so difficult in carrying out eucr, fbc FBS, HbSag, mp, crossmatching, etc that a technician can't do. And these common investigations constitute the bulk of investigations required to successfully run a hospital.. Even eko hospital, how many lab scientist are there? Y'all keep referring to UK and US as standrad not knowing your technical irrelevance is even more pronounced there. Pathologist are demi-gods over there Egbon your write up reeks of inferiority complex, always quick to think everybody hates your profession when we are just stating obvious facts |
LLiKYekoba:Comparing a fresh house officer, the lowest of doctors in one of the lowest of countries to a DNP nurse in United State.. You see you guys are the cause of doctors' ego |

By discarded, I meant either its sent back to the lab or sent to another lab. It has to tally with the clinicians clinical suspicion. How can u give me a pcv results of 14% in a patient with a cyonotic heart condition(TOF)with obvious conjuctiva plethora..or a result showing SS of a child whose parents are AA and SS ..these are some practical lab results we see often and you expect a clinician not to discard it cos its coming from a medlab scientist.? Of course lab scientist are not completely irrelevant but you should know ur position in the health sector. At OP, i will advise u opt for either Pharmacy, medicine, nursing or physiotherapy ..medlab won't be worth it in the nearest future |
Unigrad:No be only 70%. Things your lecturers tell u guys sha just to encourage you. With Good medical history and detailed examination you 90% sure of the diagnosis..lab is just for confirmation. And that's why the clinicians reject your results if its to in line with his clinical suspicion .. What is the relevance of a medlab scientists in the diagnosis of CVD(stroke), Migraine, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, osteomylitis, most psychiatric disorders, volvulus, imperforate anus, omphalocele, gastroschisis,......infact almost all surgical diagnosis.. Most small to medium private hospitals don't even employ medlab scientists, not when technicians can do pretty fine.. |
Miracood2:.not entirely true..I applied to a northern federal uni in one of my jamb with a score of 313 and wasn't given medicine.in fact, wasn't given any course..I knew d mistake I made, corrected it and gained admission d following year in same school, same course and with a lower jamb score.. Something must have gone wrong along the way for a person with jamb score of 320+ not to b given admission into his applied course..u cant tell me the whole 250+ candidates that were admitted into medicine that year in that particular school got above 320 |
U still at risk of developing urethral stricture in some 10 to 15 years time |
yunqdady:sorry for u OGA...if your are proud and bold enough, say your department let me know where to direct my argument to..its only are coward that hides under the leverage of anonymousity to throw stones at others...say your department and let's start...my department is medicine and surgery |

this news really saddens my heart...7years plus in the university all beacause of one form of strike or the other.. using one tool to fight the government over and over again yet no tangible lasting solution. wont you change tactics..i mean its only a fool who does something in a particular way and manner over again and expects a different result..haba.. wherever you read or hear the name ASUU there will surely be the word "strike" in that same sentence or coversation...very annoying lots..i u hardly see foreign students in nigeria universities these days cos of thi incessant disruption of academic calenders...the government is iirseponsibe..yes we know! but must you further contribute to the decay of our tertiary institutions..u say if not fot ASUU struggle, nigeria federal universities would av been on shambles or the school fees would have been exhorbitantly high. bla bla bla....now i ask u ASUU, are schools like uniilorin, lasu and other states universities not doing well too? are the school fees of these institution very high? looking forward to seeing that day when i will read news like " ASUU urges the federal government to heed to its demands or else they would temporarily call of its members to discontinue the research of a vaccine for endemic illness like say malaria, or drugs or economics , agricultural, minning , conflict resolutional strategies..."..never!!! all you hear is ASUU threatens strike, strike and strike cos of cos thats the only bargainin power they have.....mtchheeww and for those of you praying for school to resume next year, well i believe you guys are still kids in probably your first or second year( no insult intended) my prayer for u is that may ASUU strike and other strikes that may continue to happen in future not put u in a position that jobs would reject you not cos u didnt do excellently well in job intervies but simply because you have exceeded the age limit needed for employment #EndAsuuSrike |
hmmm |
saaphiere:oohh jeeeezz... u are a fool |
jehosu should be splitted into its individual departments and go on strike individually just like NMA |
johnsonm2g:no they dont |
Fekinwa:hi...am a final year medical student of the usmanu donfodiyo university and would be very pleased to answer all inquiries concerning udus/uduth sokoto and also correct some hilarious misinformation about udus and northern unis in general admission into udus is mainly by merit and once u beat the stipulated cutoff for that year, you are 99.9% sure of gaining admission regardless of you state of origin( am from delta state and knew no one in sokoto wheen i was admitted and in my class alone, we have people from uyo, calabar, edo, kogi, imo, anambra and enugu and all other northern states whether catchment or not)..postume was(temporarily) suspended 2014 so that means the only criterion use is jamb..just score above cutoff and in addition be among the top two in your state for the tuition fee, it ranges between 52 to 56k but u can check the udus website to get the accurate fees foe each level some other info u need to know is that 1. sokoto as a state is relatively peaceful, more peaceful than almost all the southern state and as a matter of fact udus always brag about the popular nickname given to her as the " most peaceful university" 2. though the uni is very concerned about decent dressing, its important to remind u that it a federal uni and so all religious practices are practiced peacefully and freely... 3. the current HOD of physiology, pediatrics , surgery and so many other departmental top profs are all Christians so the notion that is a a religiously bias school should not be there 4. the scul just started her dentistry program 5. sokoto state has extremes of weather, when its harmattan its very cold nd when its hot, its really hot wish all aspirants the best |
classicfrank4u:maybe he is not aware |

Ariza:not that easy man...i just want to be with one of them..no time to start a fresh relationship anymore..am a very busy somebody |
Sixfeetbelle:well you are not incorrect but unfortunately, life doesnt work that way as its the community preeqs that most times end up marrying virgins |
Sixfeetbelle:marrying a virgin has alot of advantages and on the contrary, marrying a non virgin is so so risky with unpredictable consequences |
so you have a CVA patient and all you do is send for CT Scan, you won't request Baseline investigations? No FBC, Eucr, FSLP at least?. How do you rule out other suspected co-morbidities. Even your surgical diagnosis, anaethesist will not approve patient for the surgery without confirming the test results are okay. Medlab scientist are not your enemy, you can decide to employ a cleaner to run your own Hospital if you like but patients that know what they want will only patronize standard hospital with fully equipped laboratory manned by qualified scientists. Why don't Eko Hospital and the likes employ only technicians since they have highly skilled consultants and you don't need the scientists?. Thank God a lot of Nigerians both Doctors, nurses, scientists are migrating to UK and US. Go there and tell them you don't need to request for investigations for your diagnosis
