I'm a Nigerian living in Australia. My wife is an American she complains bitterly about Australia. She wishes we relocate back to the States in few years. Australia has better pay rate and maybe health insurance but the social life is worse compared to lagos. If u don't really care about social events then Australia is a good place to work and make good amount of money

Australia is so on point on some many levels, minimum wage here is so crazily high that u begin to wonder how the money is minted.
Come to Australia and see folks (from Canada, UK, Netherland, Sweden e.t.c) working and they are not ready to go back home.

I live in Malay and I have seen lots of Australians, life is boring over there, Malaysia is super dope. Malaysia is much more bigger and more beautiful than you think. The Asian curry I eat here in California is almost 'common' to me. Whenever I go to the Thai restaurant, I don't feel like I'm going to a special place. Most times, I just wear flip-flops to the place. I don't dress-up to go to restaurants, or even to the bank. The only times I dress up are for weddings, church events, and dates.

I also remember when it was a big deal for me to order pizza But these days, its like buying agege bread.

Like many have said, success is relative and varies from different stages of life. If money in your fat bank account or material things are your only benchmark for success, then you know little about what success is.

While your "advice" may be warm and out of love, the truth is that it was misplaced and a bit myopic. You can't determine what is termed success for others. We all have different goals in life and we all come from different backgrounds. Success can be in stages. And at a point in some peoples lives, owning a car and being able to pay their rent is "success". It doesn't mean they are not aspiring to move to the next level of what they consider success. Money isn't the true measure of success.
