You took the word out of my mouth,must these political twerps from the pit of hell continue to insult the sensibilities of Nigerians,at a time of national outcry and mourning of the beheaded teacher and unreported hundreds of Nigerians kidnapped,maimed,massacred,tortured and raped daily by these terrorists,yet these data boys whom have sold their soul to the devil,will still want to make it look like it is political,tribal or religious and an avenue to insult responsible Nigerians whom abhors these national embarrassment and dears to speak out.
These people and their sponsors stinks with blood in their hands.
Nigerians must be strong and stand together with each other at this trying time. While our government is concentrating on how to consolidate power in 2027.
It is big shame...how did we get to this all time low.

2024 UTME: Why we won’t announce names of 2024 top scorers – JAMB Registrar

The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, has disclosed why the examination body wouldn’t announce the names of the highest-scoring candidates in the just concluded 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

He stated this during a press briefing in Bwari, Abuja on Monday, recalling that hitherto, the Board had been unwilling to disclose its yearly top scorers.

Oloyede said this is due to the avoidance of “a repeat of the Mmesoma saga,” while the board also considers the UTME as “only a ranking examination,” among other reasons.

Mmesoma Ejikeme, a UTME candidate from Anambra State, was embroiled with JAMB in 2023 when she claimed to have scored 362 out of a total of 400.

Upon investigations, the examination body barred her from taking the UTME for three years and also withheld her results.

For this year’s results, over 1.94 million candidates registered and sat the examination in 118 towns and over 700 centres across the country, while 77 per cent scored less than 200.

The JAMB Registrar stated, “It is common knowledge that the Board has, at various fora, restated its unwillingness to publish the names of its best-performing candidates, as it considers its UTME as only a ranking examination on account of the other parameters that would constitute what would later be considered the minimum admissible score for candidates seeking admission to tertiary institutions.

“Similarly, because of the different variables adopted by respective institutions, it might be downright impossible to arrive at a single or all-encompassing set of parameters for generating a list of candidates with the highest admissible score, as gaining admission remains the ultimate goal. Hence, it might be unrealistic or presumptive to say a particular candidate is the highest scorer given the fact that such a candidate may, in the final analysis, not even be admitted.

“However, owing to public demand and to avoid a repeat of the Mmesoma saga as well as provide a guide for those who may want to award prizes to this set of high-performing candidates, the Board appeals to all concerned to always verify claims by candidates before offering such awards.”

I wonder why the noise about LASU or UniLag being the most sort after when the population of Lagos is 3 or 4 larger times larger than an average state in Nigeria. The only other state to compete with Lagos, could have been Kano state but because the north has not fully embraced education,Lagos certainly is in a world of his own in terms of population.

I still can't understand why after the subsidy removal and all the promises of 'el dorado' and assurances that so much fund will be made available for governance,infrastructural development,massive industrialization etc,that all that is required of Nigerians is to make the sacrifice,bear the pain and accept subsidy removal but guess what? We have since witnessed an unprecedented and massive borrowing since then,something is not just adding up.

The sorry state of insecurity in Nigeria should be a cause of concern to our leaders but guess what?2027 elections is all that matters to them,they move with large security entourage,their children are in other safer and sane nations,schooling or working while they Nigerian people are daily paying with their blood.

Anytime I listen to foriegn news media and once Nigeria is mentioned,is either 30 killed,120 kidnapped,attack on one community,a church burnt down,the terrible state of IDP camps etc it's always a gory tale.This is a big shame and our shameless politicians care less.
