AgricultureYouth Employment In Nigeria: What Agriculture Can Learn From Sports by auxano01(op): 9:24pm On Jul 11, 2020
According to the May 2020 report of the Nigeria Bureau of Statistics, 40% of Nigerians live below the poverty line- meaning over 82 million Nigerians experience hunger and may rely on external assistance to get by. Millions of unemployed Nigerian youth are among this vulnerable group and worsening their economic conditions will be detrimental on a large scale. The CBN Payment System Vision 2020 Report of September 2013, identified the potential of Agriculture for employment generation, food security, poverty reduction, and financial inclusion- with service opportunities for mobile commerce.

In Cellulant, we believe scaling Agriculture through Agri-technology is one of the few options available to help impede the looming food crisis in Nigeria, help in the country's economic stability during and post COVID-19. Agriculture will also pave a pathway to providing employment to our rapidly growing youths and pull citizens out of the poverty line. Cellulant is constantly transforming how Africans live, work, and do business. Cellulant has pioneered Agritech innovation that powers the livelihoods of more than 17 million farmers in Nigeria and allows all players in the agric value chain to connect to solutions that transform how they do business. Cellulant’s technology is a critical enabler to solve many of the challenges experienced in the Agric sector as stakeholders collaborate better and capture the $50b market opportunity.

In this vein, Cellulant hosts its Innuagral Agriconnect Summit, The Summit will engage relevant stakeholders, within the public and private sectors, in pursuit of unique, effective, and Nigeria- led solutions that win a better life, food security, and employment opportunities for Nigerians. The summit will also provide practical solutions on what the Agricultural sector can learn from the Sports sector on how to engage and impact the Nigerian youth more effectively and get them interested in Agriculture.

CareerPersistency And Consistency Paves The Way For Racheal by auxano01(op): 8:37am On Jul 11, 2020
Life as an elementary school teacher is not as rosy as it seems, having to move from attending to kids all day to getting stuck in traffic on the way home and sorting assignments & preparing lesson notes before retiring into the day only to repeat the process the next day. Mrs. Florence was not having the life she envisioned for herself for years. She knew she could not resign her job as it was her only source of income although it was straining, having to wait for months to get her meager salary only made it worse

Florence has seen and patronized agency bankers at certain times and envied their ability to choose their work hours and versatility to add other trades to their job to boost income. She was impressed and started making out plans on becoming one herself.

Florence eventually started out as an agent five years ago, trying out her hands with numerous agency banking platforms. After years of experimenting which made her gather valuable experience, Florence joined tingg last November. She said ‘’the tingg platform is okay and cheap and as an agent, the cheaper the charges the more profit she can make’’ that influenced her decision to dump other platforms for ting.

Florence’s influence has grown over the years, it took her just 4 months to become a super-agent. Registering four sub-agents under her to manage her shops and kiosks around the state. Florence has plans of further extending her business tentacles as she requested for assistance as she aims to onboard five more sub-agents in the next three months. Florence’s tenacity and meekness draw people to her and the B.Sc. holder in Hospitality and Tourism knows a thing or two on how to retain them. Looking back through the years she claims ‘money is on the streets; it depends on how you reason. It is up to you to plug in and make value for yourself.

Politics5 Insights Agric Must Learn From Sports To Gain & Encourage Youth Participation by auxano01(op): 1:50pm On Jun 30, 2020
Agriculture and sports are very interrelated as agriculture plays a huge role in the sports industry and in the activities that go on when many sports are played. Cast your mind back to the last time you were in a stadium or saw a game on TV. From the food and beer consumed by many in the stands during the game to the grass where the game is played, the very stadium housing the sports, and more. Ball Sports like football, volleyball, etc owe their very ball to agriculture. Agriculture has provided and is still providing food, logistics, etc for sports even in empty stadiums.

[img][/img]

Following up from last week’s conversation, we will be looking into lessons the Agro sector can from sports to spur youth participation and patronage. We have identified 5 areas Agriculture can borrow a leaf from Sports and imbibe below.

Interest
Influence
Funding
Education
Publicity

Interest

The most paramount lesson to learn from sports is interest. If you are not interested in something, no matter how valuable it is you will always miss out on it became your interest lies elsewhere. Most youths are uninterested in agriculture because they don’t see how they can plug in and make value (earn money) for themselves. This disinterest stems from their yesteryears, for example, If you grew up seeing your neighbor drive an expensive car, send their kids to the best schools, and take summer vacations abroad while leaving on the earnings from their farm, I bet you will be interested in being a farmer too!

Farmers processing rice grain in Anka, Zamfara, Nigeria.
Influence

The sporting world is in no lack of the influence of the game on youths and sport influencers. most teens on the streets of Africa can name the favorites for the 2021 AFCON, the venue for the next Olympics come summer of 2021, argue about Serena William’s rivalry with Maria Sharapova or that infamous loss to Naomi Osaka in 2018, but same can’t be said of Agriculture not just in Africa but globally.

People are greatly influenced by what they see and hear from these sporting figures, more press is afforded to sports, and their wins well amplified for all to see. To gain youths patronage, the agro sector must learn to celebrate its wins and achievements, even make influencers off their major stakeholders and industry shakers. Such trailblazers like Bolaji Akinboro, Adesina Akinwunmi as cited in last week’s post comes to mind. Proper representation and education of the public on who these people are and life-changing impacts they have made over the years should be amplified to the public thereby influencing the people narrative of agriculture.

One of Cellulant’s farmers at the aggregator’s site where the price is being sorted and rebagged.
One day we will move from sports arguments and football banter to which is the right word corn or maize? Till then let’s keep engaging and educating our youths on agricultural processes, initiators, and disruptors Changing The Narrative And Face Of Agriculture Across Africa.

Christianity EtcRe: 'It Is About Microchips' – Chris Oyakhilome On Black Lives Matter Protests by auxano01(m): 12:12pm On Jun 28, 2020
JojoAbeka:
BLACK LIVES MATTER PROTESTS NOT ABOUT RACISM BUT IMPLANTING MICROCHIPS – PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of Christ Embassy Church has come out with a shocking allegation regarding the current protests which have rocked the world in the aftermath of the killing of George Floyd by police officers in USA.

Oyakhilome, who was in the news recently for falsely claiming the installation of 5G technology was connected to the coronavirus outbreak, stated that the ‘Black Lives Matter’ protests in USA were not about racism but a subtle ploy to implant “microchips” into citizens as a means of controlling them.

“It’s not about the guy that died; it’s not about ‘Black Lives Matter’,” Oyakhilome said in a program broadcast on LoveWorld titled ‘Global Day Of Prayer’.

“It’s part of the game. They want to come in with the alternative method for security – total control with microchips. That’s what it’s about,” he claimed, adding that police would be ‘disbanded’ and everyone would be forced to have a ‘microchip’ implanted into them.

“Look at the people rampaging on the streets – they are not black people… It is not about racism,” he asserted without any corroborating evidence.

Oyakhilome made several other disturbing allegations, insisting that the guidelines given by the government to reopen the church were not guided by science but rather an attack on the church.

“Wearing facemasks is dangerous for your health. How can we know this and prescribe it? I have told you of the dangers of social distancing. It’s inhuman… There is no science behind it,” he stated in the broadcast.

Oyakhilome described the ‘lockdown’ as illegal and said it was actually citizens getting ‘locked up’.

“The lockdown was wrong and, in most instances, illegal,” he continued. “The truth of the matter is around the world, we were imprisoned… It was house imprisonment.”

“This fraud must be judged by God,” the controversial pastor continued, claiming that many pastors were actually getting paid to advocate for the closure of churches to the governments.

“Go ahead. Build the concentration camps and call them isolation centres. Pay for them or get paid – because now you have a contract,” he said, warning that no Christian pastor should “profit” from the situation.

Pastor Chris further insisted that 'virtual prayer' could not replace physical laying on of hands, reiterating his recent statement that pastors should not be restricted from 'laying hands' on congregants when services resume.

Oyakhilome’s rhetoric in the aftermath of the coronavirus outbreak has become increasingly divisive and erratic, with many labelling him a ‘conspiracy theorist’.

The broadcast in which he made the allegations on Friday 26th June 2020 has since been removed from Oyakhilome's YouTube channel although other versions of it can still be viewed online.

SportsRe: Jack Grealish Names His 10 Best Midfielders In Premier League History by auxano01(m): 10:33am On Jun 25, 2020
obonujoker:
Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish has named his top 10 list of midfielders in Premier League history to BT Sport. He has included wingers, while also missing out a few notable players.

10 | David Silva
“I think he’s probably one of the best Spaniards to play in the Premier League. Out of all the shirts I’ve got at home, he’s probably one of the best. He’s so technically good, so technically gifted and his record of the number of trophies he’s won speaks for itself.”

9 | Patrick Vieira
“So successful in the Premier League and was in that Invincible side at Arsenal and he played a major part in that. He’s one that I wouldn’t like to be going up against when he’s at his best.”

8. Gareth Bale - Tottenham

"I know he's classed as a forward but when he was in the Premier League he was more of a left-back and then left-midfielder."

7. Cesc Fabregas - Arsenal, Chelsea

"He's one of a few players who have got over 100 assists in the Premier League. When he first came through at Arsenal he was one of the most talked-about youngsters on the planet. When he was at Chelsea, he was more of a holder and his passing range was unbelievable."

6. Yaya Toure - Manchester City

"I played against Yaya on my debut for Villa. We were 2-0 down at the time and we ended up losing 4-0. I've got a photo of him running past me and he ran past the whole team and ended up scoring. That season he was unbelievable."

5 | Frank Lampard
“The all-time top goalscoring midfielder in the Premier League. I always ask JT (John Terry) at Villa about him to get little ideas that can improve my game that Lampard had. JT said he used to just be on the training ground every day practising his shooting which is why he probably scored so many goals.”

4 | Ryan Giggs
“I think he’s got the most assists in the Premier League so that’s why he’s at No.4.”

3 | Kevin de Bruyne
“My favourite player in the world at the moment. Until you play against him, you don’t realise how good he is. He just has so many talents. One thing I can say is that everything he does is different. Sometimes he’ll get it and take a few touches, sometimes he’ll get it and cross it straight away, other times he’ll just pass it off first time. People don’t give him credit for how fit and how fast he is."

2 | Steven Gerrard
“Him and JT are the two best captains in the Premier League. He scored so many banging goals and I think in the prime of his career, he had everything.”

1 | Cristiano Ronaldo
“I know he’s gone on to be a striker but when he was in the Premier League, he was a midfielder. It’s a toss-up between him and Messi to be the best player in the world. His goal record in the Premier League was just scary.”

Firstly I will like to apologize for any errors made while typing, and I am seriously in need of ur advice and criticism.

My name is Stanley(not real names) married for 4years with two Lovely kids both female with d eldest at age 4. Trust me I cherish and love my family. I am a graduate while my wife dropout from the university cause of some money issues her single mother had while she was sick. After our first child I made sure she got admitted to a polytechnic and thankful she just rounded up her N.D all expenses paid by me, with high hopes of Getting admitted for her HND.

The problem started after our first child, my wife attitude towards sex changed totally, she would never let me touch her or play with her, calling her pet names will usually end in quarrel, I spoke with her her severally, pleaded and beg her most times but her attitude never changed, she made me feel like I met nothing to her, yet she will always fight with me whenever ever she suspects I have a girlfriend, fights with any female that comes close to me through calls or chats, she even went as far as beating up a lady that needed my help thinking I was dating her.

Fast forward to recently, her mom who is a single mother relocated to stay with us, and during her stay we had some misunderstanding about money issues, (note both me and wifey are gainfully employed in the ratio of 10:4, but 60% of wifey salary goes to her mom while she spends the rest 40% anyhow she likes) during d money issues a frd of hers came and told both of them that she see saw me flirting with a lady. And without hearing my own side of the coin my mother in-law rained curses on me , reported my to all her family members and left my house angrily, two days later my wife took our children and left my house while I was in d office, I called about her where about and she said she won't tell me and she said I will hear from her family soon, her mom called a family friend saying she will sue me.

It's been one week now and I don't know the whereabouts of my kids.

Should I report to the police or what?
Note I have apologized to wife for the crime I didn't commit yet it seems they want a bigger pound of flesh.

Please kindly advise me caused am depressed and confused
in all honesty you have no marriage, you never did.
Report to the police and make sure they follow up accordingly

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should have a near fully fit squad to choose from for this evening's game against Sheffield United.

Old Trafford plays host to United's first game since the Premier League restart, which of course will be staged behind closed doors.

Paul Pogba is pushing to start a United match for the first time since September 30th and looks likely to reprise his partnership with Bruno Fernandes, which looked so good in the final half hour of the 1-1 draw with Tottenham.

Victor Lindelof is expected to be fit after being replaced late on against Spurs, though Axel Tuanzebe and Phil Jones are doubts

SportsRe: Chelsea Confirm Signing Of Timo Werner by auxano01(m): 4:22pm On Jun 18, 2020
id911:
Chelsea Football Club has reached an agreement with RB Leipzig to sign Timo Werner.

The 24-year-old has agreed personal terms with the Blues, and will remain at the German club for the rest of the Bundesliga season. He will link up with his new team-mates in July, subject to passing a medical examination.

One of the most feared young strikers in Europe, Werner is renowned for his pace, movement, link-up play and finishing ability. At Leipzig he has most often been deployed in a front two, but he can also play out wide in a front three or as the central striker.

He is currently enjoying the most profitable season of his career yet, having already scored 32 goals and registered 13 assists in 43 appearances in all competitions. After finding the net again against Fortuna Dusseldorf last night, he has two games remaining this season to improve on those numbers.

TIMO WERNER'S MESSAGE TO THE CHELSEA FANS

Werner said: ‘I am delighted to be signing for Chelsea, it is a very proud moment for me to be joining this great club. I of course want to thank RB Leipzig, the club and the fans, for four fantastic years. You will forever be in my heart. I look forward to next season with my new team-mates, my new manager and of course the Chelsea fans. Together we have a very successful future ahead of us.’

Marina Granovskaia added: 'We are very excited that Timo Werner has chosen to join Chelsea. He is a player who was coveted all over Europe and it is no surprise, he has that rare mix of being young and exciting and yet established and proven. We can’t wait to have Timo on board, but until then we wish him and RB Leipzig all the best for the rest of this season.'

Eight years ago, Modupe had just joined the thousands of Nigerians embracing the Agency Banking movement. Like many others, this was no side hustle move, it was her one-way ticket out of unemployment. Modupe has always been a goal getter, for someone who never had the options of picking from a pool of opportunities growing up, she is one to make the most of any opportunity presented to her. Agency Banking proved to be that opportunity, It was another chance for her to put in her best and achieve something for herself. what’s more? If she cracks this, she will be employed to herself, choosing her own working hours and making money on her terms, employments could not have been better!
Life has not always been rosy for Modupe, The University of Ibadan alumni had to study hard and work harder on her way up the ladder of life, it’s just how life has always been for her. After seven years in the mobile money market space, Modupe finally made the leap to join Tingg Mid last year. Her wealth of experience and hard work has seen her make a sudden boom and grow her numbers to become one of the biggest and highest performing agents in the network.

nice, this is quite inspiring

‘’We can’t keep saying our leaders are bad, you need to have a vision, what are you doing for yourself, I don’t want to give excuses, I started with 10k and now I have grown it to something reasonable. In this job, you can start little. I mean with whatever you have. I started with ₦10,000, and I remember always telling myself then that this ₦10,000 will multiply, it depends on your desire. They say ₦2000 can start something, people are just lazy, I started with little, everything is to discipline and determined, if you are not determined in life you can’t do well in life even if you are earning millions, I will pursue this mobile banking and get results’’

Modupe sees value in persistent work, a formula that has worked perfectly for her over the years. She detests the laziness and stands up for moral equity and relevance. We salute Modupe’s principle and perspective to life, her dedication, and doggedness to her work.

Greenbullet:
I hear guys saying all girls are gold diggers at any small request, but why refer to a girl as a gold digger if you can not care for her needs.

Many people venture into relationship these days and most male partners do not understand their role, one basic role is your ability to provide for your household, if you can not do this then you are not a man but a weakling, if your female partner request for money most times it is not to "gold dig" rather is it to test your financial capacity and reasoning.

I wonder how some guys think "if she loves me she won't ask for anything". Excuse me are you all right? She loves you and intends to spend her life with you so she is trying to assess what your financial limits are so she can add to it or know how to request.

Imagine a boyfriend not being able to pay for his girlfriend's hair or even buy her a new shoe or even just give her money to buy foodstuff, and saying " am I her parents?" Well you are more than that because the moment you asked her into your life, you also asked her needs and accepted her as your responsibility.

PLEASE STOP DATING IF YOU CAN'T LEARN THE MAIN responsibility ATTACHED TO IT
