ImaIma1:You are pushing him to embark on dangerous adventure. If he were to be your brother would you advise him like this? What if something bad happen to him would you be there to save him? Please don't push him in to doing something he'll end up regretting. |
FutureDecisions:You need 2.5m to travel out how long would it take you to save from 50k. I'll advise you the way I'll advise my younger brother. Don't take that job without sorting things out with your mother because if some thing happen, you'll still end up coming back to her. Once you travel to Lagos, it'd be difficult for you to continue with your education because life over there is very demanding and expensive. It might even tempt you to mingle with bad influence just to survive. Stay back and do your tailor apprenticeship and also engage yourself in other productive things that'd fetch you some money. Trust me, you'll reap the benefit of the tailoring business in the feature whether here or abroad. bedsides, you need skills to survive abroad and that tailoring business might be your saving grace. I was watching a documentary some days back about migrants in France and saw a young man from Senegal making a decent living from a tailoring business while the rest of his friends are living from hand to mouth because they have no useful skills to depend on. By the way, why the politician insisting on you? Does that mean he couldn't find a qualified person to manage his blog in Lagos? Please be careful o.. Don't allow uncertainty and naivety lead you to something dangerous. |

[quote author=FutureDecisions post=71713347]I'm the last born. I don't think she will change her mind. She's struggling to pay for my bro's school fee. I understand the point that labour market is saturated.. She never had Idea that I want to study outside the country She also never made mention that I will continue my education. She said once I'm done with the tailoring apprenticeship, we'll find ways to raise money for me to open my own SHOP. [/quote So you what do you want to do? It seems like you want to take up that job offer at Lagos don't you? I have a few question for you. 1.What makes you the most suitable candidate for the job? 2. Do you still have intention of going back to school or you just want to keep huzling. 3. Since you know your mother is not going to change her mind do you want to take the risk of going ahead with your plans knowing too well if things turn otherwise it'd destroy your relationship with your Mom? 4. Do you know traveling abroad requires a lot of money? 5. What about your older siblings. where are they? |
BiafraIShere:You are the one contradicting yourself instead. When you had the opportunity to travel out what stops from taking the chance? Same reason that stopped you from traveling out is the same reason that made them came back home. And because the guy trade textile that makes him worthless? Your kind of opinion depicts a clear contrast between southerners and northerners. A typical northerner follow his passion and aspiration instead of material things. My friend, everything is not about money sometimes happiness matters a lot. Do you know that some people go to school not because they want to secure a job but rather to fulfill all righteousness? Secondly, saying the livestock and staple food that are transported to southern Nigeria comes from Niger and Chad say a lot about your kind of mindset. So no need to further discuss about this issue because you've already programmed your mind to only accept conjectural facts. Lol.. saying southeasters resides in high brow areas up north shows that you have limited knowledge of the northern way of life. Let me elucidate a bit about this point. There's differences between how the Yorubas live their life in the north and how the other southerners live their life especially igbos. The yourubas assimilate easily with the northern population and own properties but igbos segregate themselves and live in isolation in slump areas called "Sabon gari." If you doubt ask anyone that truly live in northern Nigeria and he or she will tell you the true picture of things. Majority of those Hausas you see here in south are illiterate looking for their daily bread just like how you'll come across a southerner up north doing menial job just to keep body and soul together. And majority of the Hausas you see aren't even Nigerians. They are from Niger and Chad because they have same lingua franca with the Hausas. Are you sure you read what I typed earlier? If you did, you wont be saying people are killed on daily basis up north. Yes there's crisis in some part of Jos between the natives and Hausas periodically but that doesn't mean it's a constant thing. I don't know where you are residing but I believe you are confined to only your geographical area. You don't travel much because if you do, you won't be saying all this. I travel mostly by road from south to most part of the north on monthly basis and I've never experience any attack or killings as you claimed is rampant up north. You are trying to paint a false picture of northern Nigeria as a volatile region which is not true I've told you in my previous post that even the boko haram insurgency only take place between Cameroon and Chad border fringes. If you doubt please ask anyone that resides at the north and he or she will corroborate what I said. You said you once lived at Abuja but what you fail to realize is Abuja is a nodal town between North and Southern part of the country. If you don't mind I'll like you to give a succinct description of the places you claim to visit up north so as to buttress your claim. Lastly, I only attached the picture to give clarity to my points. I'd have attach more but the picture are somehow heavy. I am not trying to look down on any part of the country because they all have their strategic importance. I just want you to change your conjectural perception about the north. And one thing you fail to understand is those residing abroad identify themselves as Nigerians and see themselves as brothers and sisters before region of origin. |
FutureDecisions:Yeah, I understand. Just calm down and do as she say. I guess she did that because she knows the labour market is saturated with unemployed graduates and having a university degree is not a guarantee of securing a job so she's trying to give you something to fallback on should in case you couldn't secure a job after graduation. She just want you to have plan B in case plan A failed. I guess you are the first child and as you said your dad is advanced in age so she might be thinking she can't afford to take care of you and siblings should any unforeseen circumstances happen. Please don't see your Mom as a wicked woman because you never know what she always pass through to raise money for your school and your younger ones. Just calm down, do the tailoring apprenticeship and on your free time, find a side hustle to enable you save some money which perhaps if she see how resilient you are, she might change her mind. Please I repeat do not go against your mother's instruction by accepting that job. Because you'll end up regretting. |
You better listen to your mom she knows better. You are about to make a costly mistake by accepting that job that's if the job is even genuine. Focus on your tailoring apprenticeship and keep begging your parents to reconsider their decision. Besides, I know she meant well for you and will never do any thing that'd ruin your life. So you need to calm down and stop running faster than your shadow. Please don't destroy your life young man. |
BiafraIShere:I'll only respond to only few of the points you raised because the rest aren't worthy of reply. 1. You said you only served at one of the northern states years back, so that'd not give you the true picture of everything. Because I assumed you've only been to one northern state some years back. 2. Saying the only staple food used in the southern part is garri, imported rice and crayfish is false because I know 100 of trucks transport Beans, Yam, Livestock vegetables etc to the southern part. If you doubt please ask those that engage in such business where they usually get their goods from. 3. You mentioned that northerners don't own houses down south and they live in shanties. Yes, you're correct the reason is, an average northerner doesn't build a house outside north no matter how rich he's. Can you mentioned rich northern politicians that own a house in the south? most of them build their houses in Kaduna and Kano or Abuja which they regard as headquarters of northern Nigeria. There's a reason why they don't build houses at the southern part and I don't want to go in to that. 4. You said the northerners are docile hence their reason of not traveling out, well you are wrong with such assumption. I have a lot of northern friend that studied at United States and other European countries but they chooses to come back home and set up a business after their studies. I'll give two examples of people I've interacted with that studied abroad and chooses to come back home. A guy I met at Kaduna main market selling textile that studied software engineering at Milwaukee school of engineering in the U.S. and chooses to come back home instead of staying back even thou he had the opportunity of staying back but he chooses to come back home. I also met a lady that studied medicine at Canada and after her studies she came back and working at murtala Muhammed hospital Kano at present. And many others. If you doubt, ask any one you know from Kano or Kaduna about the number of students that studied abroad yearly and always come back home after their studies. Even some European and American embassies check names before issuing visa. It is more easier for a person bearing northern name to secure a visa because they knew they'd not stay back in their countries after their studies or vacation. I'm not saying this based on assumption because I've a lot of friends that secure visa without much stress. 5. You said someone can not travel on the northern highway without being killed or kidnapped by militias or insurgents. That's not true because I've been frequenting those roads you mentioned every month and I didn't witness anything like that even once. The insurgency you mentioned, they usually carry out their atrocities between Nigeria Chad/Cameron border fringes and far from the main cities. I'll attach some of the pictures I snapped at Maiduguri during my visit last month.

Lol... the beauty pageant of a thing is turning into madness. So everything has a beauty pageant for it? It seems like unemployment is the reason behind all this useless beauty pageant they've been organizing lately. And those Igbo girls claiming miss Kebbi, Sokoto, Bauchi, Niger, Kaduna etc. The day aboki's brain will turn against this rubbish they've been doing with the name of their states, It's innocent southerners residing in the north that'd suffer the consequences of their stupidity. |
Waste time and effort... Nigeria is not worthy of celebration... Nigeria can better be described as wasted years because most of our mates have left us far behind. Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand were all Nigeria's mate but today, they are miles ahead to Nigeria all thanks to poor leadership and corruption which is still going on. Nigerian corruption started immediately after independence in 1963 which lead to the first military intervention by major Nzeogwu and his fellow majors which is known as as (The five majors intervention) Here is some extracts from Major Nzeogwu's broadcast over radio Nigeria Kaduna in 15th of January 1966. "Our enemies were the political profiteers, swindlers, men in high and low place that seek bribe and demand ten percent, those that seek to keep the country permanently divided so that they can remain in office as ministers and VIPs at least, the tribalist, the nepotist, those that make the country look big for nothing before international circles; We promise that by the time we are done with them, you will no more be ashamed to say you are Nigerian." Nzeogwu's statement best describes the present crops of politician we are battling with today. From 1966 to 2018 no changes. They've succeeded in making Nigeria useless for all. Only few are enjoying this country the majority lives in anguish and sorrow. In 2015, I thought things would change when Buhari won the election but I was wrong. Things are really becoming hard and harder everyday. People are really suffering in this country. May God make it easy for our feature generations but as for us, there's no more hope. |
BiafraIShere:Have you been to the northern part of Nigeria? How did you arrive at the conclusion that north is the problem of Nigeria? I have lived in all parts of the country East, West, South South and North. I'll tell you point blank life in the north is more serene and cheaper compare to the other parts. The north supplies about 80% of Nigeria's food stuff remember! Yes, the government depend on crude oil sales to finance its expenditure but the earning benefits the southern part and few northern politicians. An average northerner doesn't care about the crude oil down south instead he's more concern about his farm. Out of 100% of northern population, it's only 30% that earn their means of livelihood through government or depend on salary. the remaining 70% are self reliant. Also one thing I respect the most about northerners is they are not materialistic. They are contended with the little they have and they are happy. Which is why no matter how poor a northern man is, by the age of 40 he must own a house of his own no matter how small the house is. When it comes to security, north is far better secured than southern part with exception of Borno and Yobe. Even the insurgency of Boko haram is at the outskirts of the two states mentioned not in the township. When I visited Maiduguri last month I was surprise at the level of development in spite the insurgency the state has been battling with. And lastly, How many northerners have you seen living abroad or dying to to travel out despite the fact they are bordering Niger and Chad which is a constant route for migrants. Most of the northerners that travel out does so for studies and after that they come back home. Those that chooses to remain abroad are gainfully employed with government agencies or company. I know of many in UK and United States. |
Xisnin:Lol.... I can swear your childhood wasn't pure as you were trying to paint it. It's not just possible. No disrespect intended. Even the Pope won't make such claim. As I've said before, you, I and many other teenagers must have done something nasty back in the days as such, we are not in position to judge Mr Kavanaugh. Yes, I'm pained because the man has been accused falsely by democrats and Dr Ford for selfish interest. Don't allow her exhibition of emotional blackmail becloud your judgement that she's suffering from emotional trauma just because of ordinary groping. |
Xisnin:1. was your childhood pure white as snow without any blemishes? Because that's the only reason you'd be saying all this. 2. Yeah I didn't came up cos it's not worthy of investigation before now. 3. You are making look like as if he was an habitual molester. Even those Dr Ford mentioned as her witness, sent a latter to the senate judiciary committee denying any knowledge of the event. 4. Groping is an normal phenomenon for many teenager you inclusive because you might have done it when you were young. So it's not a big deal to many. 5. Ordinary groping caused her a life time trauma? Lol... Even those that were raped as children always put it behind them and move on with their life non to talk of ordinary groping. Dr Ford was lying she's not suffering from a lifetime trauma. She was just exaggerating. 6. Justice Kavanaugh would be confirmed as Justice of the US supreme court for a lifetime whether democrats and Dr Ford like it or not. Even the 3 liberal Republican senators that said they'll vote against Kavanaugh have changed their mind after listening to his narration of the whole situation. 7. You said nobody would trust him with their daughters again? What's his business with peoples daughters? Is he a nanny or what are you trying to say. Someone that's married with two beautiful daughters have nothing to lose. |
Xisnin:Why are you saying all this? Remember we all must have done something silly during our teenage years. Does that mean our classmates or childhood friends should use it against us? And also remember that the FBI had carried out six background check on him and they said he's clean before this witch hunt by democrats and Dr Ford I observed that a woman which I assumed was his childhood friend was sobbing behind him when he was answering the prosecutor's questions which shows that he is a good man. The whole thing is politically motivated if not what's the big deal about ordinary gropting. And why are you referring to him as drunkard. Is it because he said he like beer? |
Xisnin:He didn't deny the fact that he love beer because he has retreated that over and over again. There's difference between loving beer and being a drunkard. Did you just say Dr. Ford was calm? Lol.. If what she said was true and the Justice gropt her then why did she need to hire two layers to advise her on what to say when the special prosecutor hired by GOP was questioning her? Ok, let's even assume he made an attempt of raping her why is coming out now? How'd you feel if your former classmate or friend accused you of what transpired between you two when you were 17 over 32 years ago? Justice Kavanaugh was furious of the baseless allegation hence his obvious show of anger during the questioning session and also the democrats senators were trying to emotionally blackmailed him in to withdrawing from his nomination as supreme court judge. If everyone would recount what happened during their childhood years, nobody would be qualified to hold any political office. |
Xisnin: |
Xisnin:If you've truly watch the senate judiciary committee hearing of Dr. ford and Justice Kavanaugh, you won't be saying this. Dr. ford looked uneasy and distraught because she was lying. She connived with the Democrats to rubbish the personality of Justice Kavanaugh. |
Dr.Christine Blasey Ford has emboldened women to be making baseless allegations against men with her unsubstantiated character assassination and rape allegation against Judge Brett Michael Kavanaugh. We'll be witnessing more baseless rape allegations against prominent men in coming days. Dr. Ford has open the gate for them. |
Marriage is a unity of inconvenience. At the beginning, the couples would be crazy about each other but just after 3 to 4 years, the whole story changes to regret and resentment. 90% of married couples are not happy of their union. |
He finally made it... He's welcome to the world headquarters of fraudsters. Mr. Nitin Sandesara, make yourself at home. You are safe. Buhari will soon be back from the UN general assembly to officially welcome and induct you in to the Nigerian realms of upper class professional fraudsters because you merit it. Considering the amount £500,000,000 you succeed in defrauding people, you belong to the legendary upper class level. |
AsianLoyalist:Please read what I typed earlier but slowly. I said the US defence department/Pentagon agreed to deploy women to the front line but as non combatants. They won't engage in any open war. There job is mostly to attend to those injured or do some office work. Please googled "US women solders killed in battle" and you'll find non. |
Dankwambo is one of the best governor in the entire north if not Nigeria as a whole. The man has totally transformed Gombe State. He pay workers as when due, construct good road network and empower unemployed youth in the state. Dankwambo will make a good president but unfortunately they won't allow him. Even if PDP gives him their presidential ticket, Most northers won't cast their vote for him because Buhari has used his marabout from Senegal to capture their mind. Dankwambo/ Donal Duke are the types of people Nigeria need at present. |
AsianLoyalist:Yes United States deploy women to war but as non combatants. I have been following US war in Iraq and Afghanistan very closely and all the women soldiers deployed to those countries, are there as health personnel, logistics or office work. Shalom |
m |
AsianLoyalist:Oga please check your facts again. Females do not participate in physical battle. If fact it's a law in US army not to allow females fight in battles. They mostly engage in secretariat works and first aid. I'm not disturb with the lady's picture because I know it was staged. |
I don't really understand why people like making up stories. Nigerian women soldiers don't participate in wars. Even in US army don't allow women in war front. |
Mfunkynation:OK thanks. |
This FKK man is an unstable character. Was he not the same person insulting the northerners and now he's shamelessly trying to convince us to vote for a northern man. |
Mfunkynation:Please I'm facing same problem. can you explain further on how to go about it? |
Abortion should be legalize in this country. It's not like we are even religious because the kind evil Nigerian engaged in both poor and rich, scares the devil himself. So let's just embrace our faith of evilness and stop pretending. Because from the look of things, it seems like 90% of Nigerians would've a permanent resident permit in hell. |
If these people are guilty of the crime they were accused of, they should be allowed to serve their maximum prison term with parole. |

This is absolute waste of resources, time and money and he ought to be ashamed of himself, no pun intended!! About your second example, this is a common phenomenon because there are thousands of Southerners who studied in the UK and other Western countries who returned afterwards to look for jobs in Nigeria.
