Dinma27: Congrats. Please I have a question. I will be writing the BCS exam by September and the result will be out by December. I would like to start this WES process so that my NECO and degree can be evaluated as I don't want any delay when I fully kick-start. Do you think its a good idea since the BCS won't be ready yet and can't be evaluated. Can WES evaluate my NECo and degree and do the BCS later? Hi good afternoon, it depends. You can go ahead and evaluate your results now and do an upgrade when the BCS is out. The upgrade is 100CAD. Or you can send your results and add the BCS certificate, send them a mail that it will be ready in December. However, they would not evaluate the rest until all the other documents have been received. My advice, go ahead and evaluate Bsc with waec, if you have IELTS, enter pool because of tie breaking rule. From now to December, anything can happen, including a nomination. If not, do an upgrade. Wes doesn't even take the normal 35 working days again. Plenty applications. You may wanna start on time. |

Fellow Canadians Una good morning oo. So many pages to catch up with. The struggle for two or more certificate no be here. Exams and project and Co. Last last we go ITA as a reward for the sleepless nights. Congratulations to all those who got crossed one hurdle or the other. IETLS, ECA, PPR. Wishing you guys the best. In other news, WAEC is currently away for marking. I would sincerely advise anyone that intends to use WES and has just NIgerian degree to think twice unless you have HND and it's cost effective for you. Your WAEC will take anything close to one month or two months if you apply now as they are won't be back until 18th July and at such would have a lot of backlog. WAEC has the capability of delaying your Wes. I have a lot of peeps with backlogs from June. May even. Alternatively, if you have NECo please i advise you to use that. Neco has a faster timeline even though they are writing Exams. Otherwise Choose ICES or CES. Last last everything will end in praise. We await an outpour of PPR rain. Have a great day peepz. @ladymarshall Maami I dey greet oo. Boss@topsmamen I've been waiting for your landing gist oo. |

Collineno: Hello guys I have one important question to ask. I am trying to verify my academic credential using WES but I was told I must include my WAEC certificate. I already have a Bachelors degree and currently completing a Master's degree. I read previous post and fund out that some people only verified their bachelors degree. But it keeps poping up automatically on WES website that WAEC or NECO must be verified first. Is it compulsory to provide my WAEC certificate to WES before my Bachelor's degree can be verified? Has anyone successfully gone through this hurdle recently and succeeded? Unfortunately yes. If your MSC is foreign, flu can skip the Waec Neco part. Otherwise, it's compulsory. Or better still, use ICES. |

Chai, been a few days away.
Congrats to all IELTS smashers, ITA grabbers, Completed ECAs. Every other new level achieved.
Just wanted to address some few things, as i get a lot of calls. I am not a waec staff, I just have tiny mosquito leg inside.
WAEC had a backlog due to exams. The whole of May applications were barely touched just the few lucky ones.
Currently, late Aprils and Mays are being completed. You should start getting your tracking numbers by next week. Unfortunately, 1999 and below may be excluded as they are not online ie pre 2000. They are trying to push out the 2000s and then focus on the 1990s.
I can assure you they are all working on your applications although they will be leaving in two weeks time again for marking. Slight delay.
Neco is currently having their exams but havent stopped collecting applications. It is rather slower than before. Any contact in minna should sort it out for you.
Finally, this journey will teach you patience. My transcript from my school took eight months to get to Wes. But we still here. Just chill, pray if you believe in prayers and buy patiencylin tablets. Las las, we go all enter canada.
May the new week bring an outpour of PPRs. Have a great week. |

The people that did same time with me has theirs already sent Unfortunately yes. 1999 below is not online and so they have to do it manually. For now they are trying to sort out the 2000 and above to push out the volumnious applications as the backlogs are too many. careerwoman: Very valid point. I’m not an authority on writing matters but I think Joromi 12 is right.
Writing does require a lot of attention and practice. The tone must be formal except when writing informal letters. Some words aren't acceptable in formal writing. Jay E2 has a YouTube on this.
Paraphrasing is also very necessary. You can’t use the same words in the question over and over again. My essay topic was about Violence among young people being caused by parents spending long hours at work. While writing my introduction, I used Juvenile Delinquency to replace Violence among young people. In another paragraph, when I needed to make reference to it I used delinquent youths. Instead of salary, I used remuneration. I used different synonyms for the same word/phrase.
Then, paragraph structure is crucial.. Your thought process must flow. Put yourself in the reader’s shoes. You don’t want to read a disjointed essay. Prepare your ideas on the question paper first before you start writing. That way, you can decide which idea should come before the other. In each paragraph, the first sentence should introduce your idea starting with a linking phrase like Firstly, In addition, Furthermore etc. 2nd&3rd sentence should explain the idea (what, how, why) you can use examples for this. Phrases like, For instance, For example etc. The examples don’t have to be true, be creative. In my essay, I created a story about a research by an American Child Psychologist, John S. (I don’t know any John S. sef) and what he findings were to support my idea. The psychologist and his research were created in my head that day. 3rd/4th sentence should conclude the idea or show what the idea leads to. Phrases like, “As a result” can be used here.
I don’t want to derail the thread too much; my suggestion to IELTS takers, read ielts made easy pdf cover to cover if you can and watch Jays tips on YouTube. There’s a Cambridge book that has a range of vocabularies for the different sections from which essays are created and sample Band 9 essays. (I can’t remember the name and my laptop isn’t with me atm. Unfortunately, the materials aren’t on my phone). Ask for help from people around you. I understand we don’t want people knowing our plans but sometimes being too secretive does more harm than good. I got materials from my colleagues taking PLAB etc. If I had kept my plans to myself, maybe I wouldn’t have gotten all their ideas, tips and materials.
Finally, may we obtain all our good heart desires. God bless.. #backtohibernationmode I cant agree less. IETLS is a game of synonyms. Both reading o, writing, listening. Speaking too. Of course amongst other requirements. It will end in praise for us all. |

Likewise for the WASSCE evaluation, do I need to still request that WAEC sends statement of results when WES requested for result checking card?
Thank you. Go to the search bar, type 'WES FAX' all the info on it will pop up! Waec will send transcript alongside the result checker. Yes, you will request that they send your transcript to wes. |

Daybour1: I would be the most ungrateful being if I didn't share my story here. This is not PPR (at least not yet), but I just conquered IELTS on the 10th attempt, still awaiting result of the 11th and a remark of my 9th. First of all, my ultimate gratitude goes to God Almighty for giving me the resilience to fight though these trying times.
My first IELTS test was April 21 2018, and I wrote back to back on a monthly basis until 23rd May 2019 (the game changer). Months I didn't write, I was hoping for a positive EOR, none ever came back changed. Allow me to state that, the 6.5 in writing was my major hurdle. I have sought help tirelessly on this thread but it was the same story. I eventually stopped practicing for other components again because I knew all the questions and answers in my head already, I mean, after studying almost every day of your life for over 12 months, there was nothing new to learn.
To be brief, my last resort was to contact @JohnnyBravo just 3 days to the test of 23rd May. I ensured I unlearned everything I had learnt about writing and strictly followed his teachings. I'm sincerely grateful to you for your attention and professionalism, God bless you endlessly. For all who are still stuck with writing, please let him guide you. Thank you again bro.
In conclusion, (sorry o but after taking the writing test for over 12 months, my writing has been structured into 4 BPs) while it is not easy, I'd like to encourage anyone struggling with any aspect of this journey not to give up. There's joy in knowing you eventually conquered. I'm positioned for an ITA in the coming draws and may The Good Lord make the rest of the journey smooth for us. Amen. Such resilience!! Super proud of you. Congratulations!! May PPR be most speedy for you! |
