lol there shouldn't be any problem if your documents are valid, but due to the corruption of NIS you'll go through some barriers, just look for someone to pass you through, give him like 5k and you're good.

^^^^

1. You can lodge your visa from any country you have the legal right to reside.

2. No, it will not, rather it will strengthen your visa application.

3. You need to visit border protection's website for the checklist of visitor's visa requirements.
Thank you very much! Please would you mind sharing their website for me? I am seeing a lot of website on Google

You guys are doing great on here! Biko, I've got some questions which I really need your kind clarification. I will be attending a conference in Australia come April 2016. I will be in the US by then, but I wish to obtain the visa before then. My questions are:

1. Can I apply for the visa from Nigeria or USA?
2. Will my F1 Student visa raise issues to the Visa Officer?
3. And what type of documents do I need to procure?

Biko the gurus here should help me out, please I beg of you

Hello house
Pls I need some clarification. School resumes by Jan 14th. When Is the best time to fly early? And i explanation on the 120 day rule..
Cc : the veterans in the house
30 days before resumption. If your school resumes on the 14th Jan, then plan your trip from 14 December. The 120 rule is meant for the visa appointment scheduling. If you are yet to book yours, you can start doing so now. In fact you are free to book your appointment from September 14th to January 14th...that's 120 days.

My school resumes on the 8th of Jan, I booked my interview on the 17th and got my visa last week...I wish you success!

God of Double Wonders has done it!
I have return with a shout of joy..After I was issued d yellow paper today at d embassy in Abuja, I immediately went to my hotel, knelt down and appreciated God that I wasn't given d blue paper, and then hurried to Delta line to board a bus to Asaba.Throughout d journey I was pondering why d yellow paper and how long it will take to conclude d administrative process. However, some persons at d embassy told me BTW 2 weeks to 1 year.Lo and behold when I got to Asaba this evening a message from d vice consular was in my mail box apologizing and requested I return to d embassy 1.30pm on Monday to drop off my passport. My brethren this can only be God.
I have return to sincerely appreciate u all for your invaluable support thus far.
I will like to use this medium to suggest if there is anyway we could know ourselves in realtime. Thanks once again...
congrats bro...congrats!

Dem Approve my Visa Today oooo!

Visa was approved at Abuja Consular office this morning. Scheduled an appointment for 9:00 am and I got there by 08:01 am (went there with my sis). We were ordered to form a queue which we did, one young man came there was asked to return home because his appointment was on 16th (yesterday) and he was like: So can i go for the interview? (Laf wan kill me die! cheesy). After the first queue in which I was asked of my ds-160, i-20, passport photo and int'l passport, I was asked to go into the hall to do my bio-metrics, which I did. So many people were dished the blue paper. As we were sitting waiting, I just dey read my questions and answers, to calm myself down, cos i was pregnant! All those suspense and all that, I was like wow.. A man was asked the difference between a duplex and a normal building, the man just dey comot one kind answer, lol...Another man was asked the difference between a mechanical engineer and a structural engineer...the guy flopped! the two white ladies just denied them. I was called into window 6, and the white woman wey dey there just denied the person that just went out before I came in, omo, mosquito don nearly finish that woman, she just dey scratch, for my mind I said: Good, make you scratch out all those juju and everything wey my enemies don plan for me today. Although I was a bit tensed, but i regained strength! So the discussion was as follows:

VO: Goodmorning Sir
ME: Goodmorning smiling (for my mind, I was like...na who you dey call sir? 22 yrs old boy like me..lol cheesy)
VO: What church do you go to?
ME: Roman Catholic Church
VO: I know, I mean what is the name of your church?
ME: Okay, St. Joseph major seminary....(didn't hear her clearly)
VO: What?
ME: (corrected myself immediately) St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church (Omo, no be my church ooo, but since I already made the mistake, I had to modify it small cheesy)
VO: What confirmation name did you use during the time of your confirmation?
ME: St. Vincent
VO: Why?
ME: (i was like, bia, ask me better interview questions na, but I had to just answer am like that cos it occurred to me that she was also a Catholic) Because I called upon his name when my mom was sick, and he interceded for me and my mom was healed.
VO: What is Immaculate Conception?
ME: (the question threw me off balance although i was near to it, but was confused cos there is a difference between Immaculate Conception and the nativity of our Lord, so I was like: oya since i did philosophy, make i use small logic on you, so I said) Immaculate conception refers to the conception of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the womb of our mother Mary...
VO: That's not correct!
ME: Okay smiling small smiley
VO: Why Providence?
ME: Providence is a private and Roman catholic institution and has a reputation as the second best regional universities (North) according to usnews.com. It gives support for graduate student who want to think with the Church, it gives intellectual rigor, commitment to student, financial aid and is also affordable.
VO: What are the other schools you applied to?
ME: The Catholic University of America, St. John's College and Providence College.
VO: So why did you not consider other schools?
ME; Because providence college is affordable
VO: Asked me again: So why Providence
ME: Gave her same answer
VO: But the other schools you mentioned are also affordable
ME: Yes, but Providence College is more affordable than the others
VO: Did you write any tests?
ME: It was waived for me, after evaluating my degree results and transcripts
VO: What does your parents do?
ME: They are farmers
VO: Who is sponsoring you?
ME: My uncle, he has been the one sponsoring my education all through high school and my just concluded Bachelor's degrees (B.A and B.Phil).
VO: Can I see his statement of account?
ME: Passed it across, statement with 14mil inside
VO: Typed fast for a long time and folded my ds-160 inside my passport (for my mind i say, finally, God has shown me again that He is so much
in love with me! And handed me the white paper) Your visa have been approved...bla bla bla
ME: Thank you very much! (The breeze wey dey dia been wan send the white paper back, I just hol am there so that...I been wan vex, I leave i-20 to reach for the white paper first cheesy)LOL!

1.I-20
2.SEVIS payment receipt
3.visa payment receipt
4.appointment confirmation

Ingratitude; according to anonymous is worse than theft!

Although I will be going for my Visa Interview come 17th of this month, I wish to render my my sentiments of appreciation. I thank the VOs especially for the video that was uploaded on Youtube, it was really helpful! In fact it helped me in many ways: I finally knew how to answer my question in an interview with a VO and what is been expected of me, that applying through an agent is not advisable to avoid complications during the time of interview. God bless you all for helping us!

WE LOVE YOU!
