People tout that SOP "Statement of Purpose" is the letter you originally submit explaining your reason to want to study in Canada, why the course, your financials, etc. LOE "Letter of Explanation" on the other hand is an additional letter you add to your application when you are trying to specifically address VO's concerns during a re-application.

I might be wrong but this is what I think the difference is.
But is it okay to explain ur home ties issue in the statement of purpose, and explaining other documents u sumited

You can secure admission with your Waec or HND, that's not the challenge.
The challenge would be when it comes to convincing a VO that your choice is genuine and you have the funds for it. If you can tackle this with documents and your SOP then you're good.

Also try to avoid schools like this NBCC mentioned above since they don't offer differals or online classes if there's a visa delay.

Good luck.
Ok thanks. Still searching for cheap schools or moderate conditions for international students.

If I were you, I will go go pgc in construction management, there are lot of jobs in this area all over Canada instead of OND civiling eng.
Construction management is 70 civil eng
Yes i thouught about this, but ibwas told that going for pgc, u must pay part of tuition fee, before u can apply for visa,. But undergraduate u dont need to pay, yet u still get visa.

Very true. It is usually easier to switch courses after securing the visa and resuming in school.
If one can change course its o.k. then it's better i apply for diploma 3 years civil engineering. Wen i get there I can then change course.
But having hnd civil engineering and going for undergraduate civil engineering, they might not givebme visa, so I rather apply with waec, without showing my hnd. But my fear is how do I prove to the embassy what have been doing since dat is now am going for undergraduate at 37 years.
If anyone can give me points on this I will be greatful

The idea to increase your chances (not saying you can't switch careers and get your visa) is by applying for courses related to your previous study or work experience.

Check your self, know the documents you can provide to back your application, check your finances and go for it.

Good luck.
What if i decide to apply for undergraduate using only my waec, without mentioning hnd. What will br my chance due to study gap

You haven't specified what type of equipment or equipments. I am asking you this in other to know if some of the equipment you work on can be used by an aircraft or can be found in an airport facility, hence you can structure your letter of explanation in such a way that you will be able to convince the visa officer why you want to study aircraft maintenance.
We maintain equipment like excavators, fork lift, rollers, and other small machines

[thanjs so much quote author=hillary4003 post=116393758]1- you cannot work in canada until your program starts, doing that is a violation of your study permit and illegal anyone that did that likely did under the table jobs in other words illegal jobs and if found you will be deported and or banned from canada, there is a reason why they ask for so much pof during your application please don't go there without enough money to sustain you for at least a year.
2- fall term is from september to december , winter break is usually late december to early january; december 20-january 10 something like that then next term (winter)- january to april then the longest break(summer) late april to early september (ofcourse you can choose to study in your summer but it's best to use it to work as you can work an unlimited amount of hours during summer as opposed to fall and winter where you can only work 20 hours a week. as always check on your school website it will definitely be there.[/quote]
