Infact, in the heat of South African Xenophobia, I was still sent to Johannesburg and was treated as a foreigner with all necessary privileges for 3 weeks. So how does this ban really work?

Then do manual backup of your chats on whatsapp, then, copy the WhatsApp folder to the same path on the new device before verification. I've done this 2x from modded to official WhatsApp without any ish.
