Yep that's the procedure, can even be longer. It's the first phase of punishment. Have you not noticed that the judges and cops don't joke with this rape stuff. No pleading, nothing, send him straight to prison. after the first 40 or 50 days, then the real sentencing will follow.

How I wish corruption cases can be handled like this.
HealthRe: Mohammad Ali Dastak: Coronavirus Kills Member Of Iranian Parliament by axglide(m): 5:44pm On Feb 29, 2020
They think you're stupid - are you?

In 2003 the media spread fear-mongering about SARS pandemic, which proved way overblown – 800 deaths reported after hysteria subsided. In 2003 the WHO falsely predicted a global Swine flu H1N1 pandemic that could affect “as many as two billion people over the next two years." At the time evidence suggested H1N1 was bioengineered in a US lab, vaccines produced for it were extremely hazardous and potentially lethal. CDC estimated between 8,330 and 17,160 deaths resulted from the strain. Mortality rate for MERES was 34.4% Morality rate for Ebola was 50%. Mortality rate for Coronavirus is around 2%. THIS IS A PLAN TO BRING PANIC TO THE WORLD. DON'T FALL FOR IT!

Coronavirus has a 2% mortality rate. In other words, it has a 98% survival rate. To put it another way, only 2 out of 100 will die from it, and of those it's usually the elderly or those with compromised immune systems who die. Get a grip. It's just the flu. Males 30 to late 40s are the ones dying supposedly due to the lack of immune response to the common cold virus, unlike children. Those older have died, mostly in China, due to habitual smoking, which has compromised their lungs and leaves them more sceptical to severe upper respiratory infection.

Yes there's an element of fear mixed in with it. However, most of the deaths are in China. Getting the truth in or out of China is through one way only: paying with your life. The ease by which it appears to be spreading in China most certainly resulted in more deaths. The truth is the real problem here. It is best to err on the side of caution.

RIP Kaka.

“Also, the guy acted unprofessionally because, if he arrests someone from such a long distance, why didn’t he handcuff him? So, his act of unprofessionalism led to the death of the man and that is why he will be charged to court.”
OYO for the SARS official now, after dismissal he's an ordinary citizen that would be charged to court for murder. Police don wash their hand comot for the case be that. I wonder what will happen if the people of that community hadn't gone on rampage and protested his killing? Will all these not happen?

Gnaeusmagnus:
Six billion may seem like a lot, but at the end of the day, our budget is about 11 trillion, when it should be something like 100 trillion if not more.

Nigeria's main source of income is oil Since 2014, oil has been selling at least 50-90 dollars per barell below the price we need it to make a profit. And as a result, we have had to take loans to keep the heads above water. And the loan taking won't stop until we have oil at $140 per barrel and above (which is where we need it to be).

And the loans past and present have to be paid. Note that Bubu is not only paying for loans he took , he is also paying back loans taken before he came into office.....

So a large chunk of that 6billion goes into paying loans.

When I tell people I don't vote for APC or PDP...they laff at me, and even accuse me of lying. Well, the solution to Nigeria's financial problem is to become an industrial nation which exports industrial products. And APC has no policy in that regard. Na to share oil money they do. Sadly PDP is like them in that regard.
Better submission.

Government policies are beyond what you read on Nairaland.
Infact, it's a shame that a forum as big as Nairaland doesn't promote intelligent discussions, advantages and disadvantages of various policies.
Rather, it promotes mediocre, ignoramus and "first to comment" people.
No dedicated threads for experts in certain fields, no philosophy, no critical thinking.
I think twitter is better than here
My guy, see as them just dey attack you from left right and center, but you said the truth. Government policies are indeed beyond what we read here. People just come and talk, and when done, wait for the next thread.

Before border closure and now, the difference is in just a little or lower N1 Billion.

Nothing has changed. From August 2019 till now, 5 months, they've made an extra N5 Billion based on what customs were previously remitting. That'll just N60 Billion extra in a year.

It is based on this that the OP is asking or someone is asking for him that why is the government still borrowing?

Na wa oo. Indeed Government policies are indeed beyond what we read here.

While responding to news making the rounds about a suspected case of coronavirus in Alimosho Local Government Area, Abayomi dismissed the news as fake, saying that “We heard the same rumour and we deployed our biosecurity team there yesterday. They have gathered a lot of medical and community intelligence and so far and it appears to us that there is no such thing and that this was fake news".

Abayomi noted that novel Coronavirus is not a case of racial illness and that the disease can affect anybody, explaining that it is neither a Chinese disease nor an African disease,

He emphasised that the disease is dangerous and causes harm, warning that perpetrators of fake news about the Coronavirues will face the law if identified and apprehended.
This social media bill is highly needed abeg. Dunno who propagated the rumour. Heard it was on whatsapp.
SportsTwo Men Threatened To 'kill' Arsenal's Ozil - AFP by axglide(op):
Two men threatened to "kill" Mesut Ozil when they confronted the Arsenal midfielder's security guards, a London court heard on Tuesday.

The alleged incident happened outside Ozil's north London home just weeks after the former World Cup winner was targeted by moped attackers while driving in the area.

Security guard Kemil Sezer told the court that he and a colleague had been protecting Ozil, who was inside the house at the time, for several weeks.

Salaman Ekinci and Ferhat Ercun deny behaving in a threatening or abusive manner outside the house.

Assisted by a Turkish interpreter, Sezer told the Magistrates Court he first saw two men on the evening of August 8 last year before they returned around three hours later when it was dark.

Sezer said the men told him: "We're going to come back in five minutes and if security don't go from here, we're going to kill Mesut Ozil and kill you'.

"We started chasing them ... we got angry because Mesut Ozil, about two to three weeks prior, was attacked and we feared that the same thing would happen."

Ozil, who played international football for Germany but is of Turkish heritage, did not appear at the hearing.

Ekinci and Ercun, both 27, were present.

PoliticsTrump Finally Adds Nigeria To His Restricted Travel list - NY Times by axglide(op): 10:45pm On Jan 31, 2020
President Trump adds Africa’s biggest country, Nigeria, as well as Myanmar, Eritrea, Kyrgyzstan, Sudan and Tanzania, to his restricted travel list.

WASHINGTON — The Trump administration on Friday added six countries to the nations facing stringent travel restrictions, virtually blocking immigration from Africa’s most populous nation, Nigeria, and from Myanmar, where refugees are fleeing genocide.

Beside Nigeria, varying degrees of restrictions will hit three other African countries, Eritrea, Sudan and Tanzania, and one former Soviet state, Kyrgyzstan. Myanmar’s Muslim Rohingya could also be caught in the crossfire. The total number of countries on the restricted travel list now stands at 13.

Immigrant visas, issued mostly to foreigners intending to live in the United States, will be banned from Nigeria, Myanmar, Eritrea and Kyrgyzstan. The ban would prevent immigrants from Sudan and Tanzania from obtaining diversity visas. Homeland Security and State Department officials said some immigrants would be able to obtain waivers from the restrictions.

The proclamation, which President Trump was expected to sign on Friday, will take effect on February 22.

The administration has argued that the ban, enacted in 2017 to restrict travel from Muslim-majority countries, is necessary to ensure that countries satisfy security requirements for travel into the United States, or face restrictions until they do.

The expansion of the restrictions, which already affected more than 135 million people in seven countries, is likely to hinder more than 12,300 potential immigrants from resettling in the United States or reuniting with their family. The effect on Nigeria, not only Africa’s most populous country but also its largest economy, could be particularly severe.

A United States government official said the administration was adding Nigeria and Tanzania to the list because of the number of people who come from the African countries on a visa and end up illegally staying in the United States. The official said Sudan and Eritrea had not satisfied the administration’s information-sharing requirements.

Every landlord would have preferred monthly, but due to the circumstances on ground in Nigeria, even yearly they pay like 3 months after the year has expired talk less of monthly.

Come to think about it? how are salaries paid in Europe and North America? Here it's end on month things. Maybe the salaries coming in at the end of the month makes yearly attractive.
