infonubia: While I understand your frustration with the title, and I apologize if you find it offensive, let me state that what drew my attention to the article was the title (No, I didn't write it). Already I don't believe in men's account of heaven and hell if doesn't align with the Bible. So, if the title had read "Why I don't believe in heaven and hell stories and testimonies," it probably wouldn't make it to the forum because I share the same view and there's not a need to validate my view on such topics.

When reading a sentence and it ends with "...", that tells me there's more to that statement. Please look at the title again. This writing style isn't unusual, matter of fact, it is a common practice. The only problem is lots of people on here didn't take time to read the post. You know that saying "do not judge a book by it's cover." That's exactly what happened here. Folks are quick to rush into conclusions on matters that they know little or nothing about.

I beg to differ on your assertion that the literary style destroys the aim of the writing. At least, the original post has got 22 Likes (that's about the average for a good post). Even if the writer was really making the case for why heaven and hell isn't real, as rational beings, I would expect that we read the "Why's" before we comment.

We live in a "politically correct" era where folks easy take statements out of context. This could be seen in most religious discussions on the forum. Someone was quoting Philippians 2:12 where the Bible was talking about working out our salvation with fear and trembling (paraphrasing). I asked a simply question: How do we work out our salvation with fear and trembling? The answer to that question is in verse 13 of the same chapter but the person didn't respond.

Lastly, I appreciate you and others who read the write-up and I hope you get the point of the post. Unfortunately, while I appreciate all comments (at least the first few comments got the post to the FP...lol) I can't take responsibility for folks who have refused to read but comment anyways.

Kslib: Stop twisting the whole thing! Its the content we're dealing with here. I marvel at how you comfortably called someone who could write that long "lazy", and at thesame time, spare those who couldnt read, but drew conclusion from the title.

The title needs to be modified cos its so glaring that what most peeps were doing was just to draw conclusion from the title without reading the content,or reading,and then attacking based on title cos thats the only ish they got and the only loop-hole they can use since they got none from the write-up..

You use verse 10 to try to prove that tongues have ceased, because you say the Bible is "that which is perfect" which has already come. You say that since we have the Bible in its complete form now, we no longer need "that which is in part" — which includes supernatural gifts (1 Cor. 13:10).

Of course, the Bible is perfect, but our under-standing of the Bible certainly is not perfect.Therefore, until that which is perfect has come, we still "see through a glass darkly" in this life(1 Cor. 13:12). Hence, "that which is in part" (1 Cor. 13:10) has not ceased.

You say tongues have ceased, but why don't you say anything about knowledge having vanished away (1 Cor. 13:8.) Because if you are going to quote that verse, you need to quote the whole verse because it also says, ". . . whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be KNOWLEDGE, it shall VANISH AWAY" (1 Cor. 13:8.)

1. If the news got to Benin guys, they'd know the problem was from their end. Just as FAAN is shifting blames, Lagos will readily shift issue to Benin and avoid blame.

2. The reporter may be reporting from Benin. Moreover, there's nothing wrong in covering both sides. Most papers would have correspondent at both cities.

sambas: BENIN -THERE was confusion Saturday at the Benin Airport and in what seems to be a serious security breach on a local flight, as a teenage boy stowed away allegedly in the tyre hold of an Arik Aircraft from Benin to Lagos.

The Aircraft with registration number, 5N-MJG Flight 44, left Benin Airport at 9am for Lagos. Top officials of the Edo state government were on board the airline. Passengers aboard the airline were shocked when security agents found the teenager at the Lagos Airport after the aircraft landed.

Though none of the officials at the Benin Airport agreed to comment on the issue, but Vanguard observed that the teenager whose name is yet to be ascertained may have entered the airport through the Akenzua road axis due to lack of perimeter fencing at the Airport.
