WHAT I DID DIFFERENTLY

My sisters,I believe the real battle was worn spiritually, I realised that every month after O I will be constantly walking into cobwebs no matter where I was. My dears I PRAYED oo. I fasted and prayed a lot. The last 21 days fast that was declared here I didn't joke with it. One prayer style that I adopted was praying into my day of birth and fasting on that day, for instance, I am a Sunday born so every Saturday from 12 midnight to 1am I would pray and then fast the whole of Sunday or half day. I also prayed from 12midnight to 1am on most fridays(i couldn't always do this). I also made sure I prayed from midnight to 1am on evry last day of evry month

It was in a bid to find an alternative to unblocking my tubes in a more affordable and natural as possible that landed me on the TTC thread on Nairaland. I started reading from the first page.

So my urologist friend at the hospital gave me about three options; Flashing, short wave and another method that I honestly can't remember. I had also read extensively via google and I had found out the use of the CASTOR OIL TREATMENT. I also read about using guifei bao, serrapeptase, dong Quai, yi mu cao tea and other teas on Nairaland.

The first thing I did was buy myself a bottle of don Quai from a health shop then I bought myself a bottle of castor oil and started the castor oil treatment. I did this treatment for about three weeks in May and repeated it in June.

DH and I decided to go with the short wave method (this is a physiotherapy treatment). The method is quite new and not known to lots of doctors, I went for that because it was not invasive and it cost me 500GHC(40knaira)-my HSG experience was crazy enough and I didn't want anything close to that. I had also read on the treatment and tho there wasn't a lot of info on it on the internet,the little I found was convincing.

I started the treatment 2days after my last AF in July and it lasted for 15days. During this period the guy told me I could BD normally and as much as I wanted. I honestly didn't know when i was ovulating cos since my HSG my cycle hasn't been the same. I did the treatment alongside drinking some herbal mixtures and some other drugs they had recommended that I bought from the health shop(relish health shop) and LORD was the mixture bitter! I will attach pictures.

Ayeyi Maame,i have a question for U,how did the doc come up with the diagnosis that U had pcos when U had a clockwort AF?

I had a pelvic scan and a normal scan and that was how the cyst was detected. Fortunately for me my periods had always been regular, the doctor did mention that PCOS does not always mean an irregular cycle. I could have a regular cycle but not be ovulating. I found out after all my tests that I did ovulate though.

Dh & I have been trying for close to 2 years now, initially, we weren't actively trying as I had just gotten a job immediately after our wedding so I can say I wasn't really bothered with my clockwork like kind of AF.

Fast forward to a month after our 1st-year anniversary and my DH started getting worried, He suggested that we visited a gyne which we did in March. At our first appointment, we found out I had PCOS (I immediately started worrying and blaming myself for not coming to see a Doc. sooner) He put me on Hyponid and PregnacareConception (I was religiously taking prenatal whiles I went through all the tests he had prescribed.

Fast forward to about a month later, after I had run all my tests, including an HSG, We found out both my tubes were blocked &I had some serious infections.
what? how can this be? So we started with the treatment of my infections and when I was done the doc said the best way to treat the tubal blockage would be through laparoscopic surgery which going by his treatment would cost 8,000GHC (600K naira I believe) or IVF which would cost almost 3 times the amount. I tried to find out from the doctor if there were other alternatives aside from what he was suggesting but I realised, his attitude and level of attention towards my case had greatly changed.

Immediately, I told my Hubs, I would like to change hospitals and seek a second opinion. So I went back to the Police Hospital (I had my HSG here) because we had made friends with the urologist and he had mentioned some treatments. So I started My treatments for the tubal blockage after we had discussed a number of options.

Aww, my sister AMEN to all those amazing prayers. I had already read a lot of the thread so I had most of the answers to my questions hence I didn't ask questions when I finally joined the group. I can't say how amazing and helpful this group has been. I pray that God that has remembered me will remember all of you mothers on here.

Praise be unto the most hight God! My sisters, I am still in awe...... Please help me thank God for his ever wonderful mercies.

So I realised I have had all the signs of AF but no show, I honestly don't know exactly when to expect it as it has been skipping it's date a lot lately, so yesterday after work, I was feeling very feverish with a severe cold and I decided I will go into a pharmacy shop near my area, I told the lady how I was feeling she looked at me and jokingly said, madam, why don't you do a pregnancy test first? You can come back later for a malaria treatment pack if it's negative. So I bought 3 packs of the test and went home. I was feeling worse by the time I got home hence I went straight to the bathroom had my bath and went to bed.

Strangely, I woke up around 3:30 am and I couldn't sleep again then I decided, let me do the test before DH wakes up, cos I have always wanted to surprise him if ever I got a BFP.

My dear E-Sisters I couldn't control my tears as those two bold lines appeared on the stick! OMG, how can this be? God, you are truly and wonderfully amazing.

I still haven't told DH as I am not sure how I am feeling, I can't explain it, I guess I am still coming to terms with it.

I will come back later with my story, diagnosis and what I did differently this month. My sisters God is alive and He will surely surprise all of us with a BFP.

Today is a sad day, my sister inlaw had a miscarriage of twins @ 6 months. So sad burying the twins this morning. When there is life there is hope, thank God she survived though she lost blood. I pray for us all that we will conceive and carry to term in Jesus name.

I confirmed through pt like two weeks ago but Cos I wasn't feeling any symptoms. I was down and have to wait for scan to confirm which I just did. Help me praise master Jesus for this wonderful testimony. I pray God answers all our prayers and we should all carry our babies.

Hope everyone is doing well today. I have been a guest peeping in for a while now. But I have decided to join and share in the support system.

So I have been ttc for almost 2 years now. I strongly believe I would have had success by now if my dh was cooperating. So he has low sperm count with low motility and extremely low morphology. But he has refused to take any supplements and barely kpekuses. Most frustrating, during weekends, he does not take his bath or brush his teeth till like midnight and sometimes completely skips bath and brushing. I have tried my best to engage him but he does not budge. I can count the number of times we have had sex since we got married. I have done everything to make my body receptive to any little sperm I can get whenever I get, been on supplements since. I am ok according to docs. I ovulate regularly and have regular cycles. Hormonal assays check out fine.

I don't know what to do again. I am thinking about forgetting about this whole ttc thing. But then, how do I manage when I am h*rny? Na this kind thing dey push person go outside oh. I have been h*rny for days now but dh no send me. What do I do? PS... We are not quarreling or anything like that. He just never wants to discuss romance or sex.

I Would suggest that you have joint baths with ur DH. Especially on weekends becos he will feel less lazy if he has a partner sort of, bathing together also promotes some level of bonding. And like most of the ladies have said try to take ur mind of TTC and enjoy your husband and your marriage. It will make things easier for your husband and get him more relaxed and comfortable around you. Above all trust in God and pray, never mind if he doesn't want to pray with you? Just do your part and leave the rest to God.

I pray for devine guidance and understanding as well as patience for you. Don't worry God is in control.
