MaxInDHouse: Christians are out there with contradicting teachings and conflicting doctrines so they're not for the same God just as Jesus told his listeners that only those having the same line of thought as he does are his BROTHERS in the faith (not all Jews) Matthew 12:46-50
∆∆∆ The above isn't necessary as a reply.
Even in your sect, are there poor and needy people? Yes or No
OP first things first, I will want to know if you're a Christian?
If so, if you trace back to how God wants us to help the needy, you will observe that it is not about the Church but the individual. Even though it is a good thing that the Church will come collectively to help the poor amongst them. It is still a matter of Individual.
Thus God and Jesus Christ is interested in dealing with us as individuals and not the Church.
If you could help them, help and your reward is in heaven.
MaxInDHouse: Please the highlighted is blasphemy against the true God! This are the utterances found in the words of the true God:
The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing. Psalms 23:1
Fear the LORD, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing.Psalms 34:9
I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.Psalms 37:25
For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.Psalms 84:11
So do you think those coming to your house and begging for food are worshipers of this same God? Please leave the parable of Lazarus and the rich man out of this because Jesus wasn't telling a story there but a PARABLE!
1 What did you then make of the parable of Lazarus and the Rich Man?
Kobojunkie: It is a sin to celebrate Christmas or any other Holiday for that matter in the name of God or pretending you do so to the glory of God or in His honor... this because God never commanded it of you to begin with.
Also regarding what Jesus Christ said, "A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump", if you have ever taken a logic course before, it implies something like the following rule...
Truth + False == False.
When you add a lie to even that which is true, the whole becomes a lie. That is what i believe He meant where the lie here refers to the doctrines and traditions of men which are an abomination where the Truth of God is concerned.
Exactly
And thanks for going to the extent of using logic to explain that, I never thought of it that way
Kobojunkie: So, my celebrating Christmas has absolutely nothing to do with Jesus Christ or the Kingdom of God. I simply celebrate a Holiday that is for me an opportunity to hang with friends and family is all.
Kobojunkie: God, in His infinite wisdom , saw absolutely no need to demand this pickiness of me, so it would be foolishness on my part to inflict such a restriction on my person where the one whose Faith it is I seek has not commanded it of me.
The freedom I have to celebrate is because He broke the shackles and cages so that I could live this life abundantly, I am not about to put those shackles back on my person pretending I do so in honor of Him, whereas such act is instead Sin against Him.
I'm a little surprised tho that you would celebrate a Sango festival. Even though your understanding of celebrate is quite different from what I think.
Wouldn't a little yeast leaveneth the whole lump?
Or of what benefit is it to you to celebrate a river goddess festival?
Kobojunkie: When I celebrate, I ofcourse don't imply one has to participate in any associated religious rites. To celebrate,I means simply to partake in food and whine and enjoyment of the moment along with those who are pagans, this while never making the mistake of pretending my celebrating is in the name of Jesus Christ or to the glory and honor of God.
I see
I thought you'll be very picky about the types of holiday you celebrate because of your faith life
Kobojunkie: Jesus Christ's commandment to us is that we cannot serve two masters. Celebrating a holiday is not akin to serving another master. Or am I not understanding your meaning as far ascelebrating is concerned correctly or something?
Probably
When you celebrate you participate and observe duly
1- To perform or participate in, as a sacrament or solemn rite; to perform with appropriate rites.
2- To engage in joyful activity in appreciation of an event.
3- To honour by rites, by ceremonies of joy and respect, or by refraining from ordinary business; to observe duly.
Kobojunkie: The Holiday is not against my belief... no holiday is against my belief this because Jesus Christ did not bar His followers from celebrating any Holiday out there.
Oh well I see
Kobojunkie: Even if it is a sango festival, Halloween, 4th of July, Krishna, etc. No pagan Holiday is against my belief. We are free to celebrate any holiday we want to.
Don't you think this is against God's commandment (I could use most treasured) of do now bow to any other god. And anything that is against God, Jesus won't support.
isaiah4life: I thought she won't be posting much on nairaland.
Definitely not you
isaiah4life: Unfortunately, I withdrew myself from my blessing. And I have been praying to God to help me with Christmas fund because I am cash trapped, but God answered it, but I wasn't knowledgeable and Impatience enough to receive it.
May God help me. This is near success syndrome.
Kai, purge that idea or something.
He's our Father. He asked us to pray very simple. He knows what we want.
Often times he's teaching us long-suffering and perseverance.
We should pray as Christ told us to, let people know we need help and not go hot head if they're unable to do at that moment. And whatever our hand find doing, we should do diligently.
o : o : I hope the ex-follwer could see this, it could be a bigger prize someday and more importantly other aspects of our life. Long suffering is one of the attributes of a Christian too.
PastorM: It's a parable about the kingdom of heaven. Those who became Christians long time Imo River and those who gave their lives to Christ today, both have the SAME chance.
Absolutely!
We're surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses waiting for us.
Orente21: Okay sir. I am very grateful. May this kindness bring lot of open doors for u and ur family this season. Pastor M, your pocket ll b replenish more and more in Jesus name. I so much appreciate.
