naijasexy: “So Dupe my child,” Mr. Oni stared forward at his daughter who looked like she had amassed an extra ten years of age since the last time he saw her. “You are the reason we are here.” His eyes flew to Bukky who was sitting beside her mother. He cleared his throat and continued. “You were the one who asked for a family meeting to be called. What is the matter?”

Dupe knelt to greet her stepmother and both of her parents before proceeding to speak. “Daddy, thank you for granting my request and making sure everyone made it here for the meeting. Thank you sir.

Her eyes turned to Bukky who was now chatting in low tones, with her mother. “I asked all of us to come here so that we could address as a family, the many problems I am facing in my marriage.

All attempts to hide her sorrows failed as she reached into her handbag to get a handkerchief to wipe her tears. “Daddy..”

“Dupe, but you never told me you were experiencing difficulties in your marriage.” The senior wife of Mr. Oni was alarmed when she saw the hopelessness in her daughter’s swollen eyes.

“Allow her to talk.” Mr. Oni warned firmly. With one brisk hand gesture, he urged Dupe to speak up.

“Yes mummy, that’s true. I never told you because I didn’t know the problem would degenerate to this level.” She passed a glance at Eniola but the distress on Eny’s face sent a shiver down her spine. “Daddy, I don’t know if you know this, but Bukky has been living with me for the past two weeks.”

Mr. Oni shifted in his seat as if he was shocked by what he’d just heard, but he didn’t utter a word. He nodded Dupe on.

“Only last week, I was doing some work in my study when she barged in on me and told me she wanted to see me.” A ball formed in Dupe’s throat as she noticed the keen interest with which her mother was listening. “Daddy, Bukky came into my office and told me that she wanted to share my husband with me.” Dupe began to sob. “Bukky..”

A balding head was revealed as Mr. Oni took off his cap when he heard his eldest daughter’s allegation. He turned to the accused who was now looking up at the ceiling. “Bukky! Did you hear what your sister said?”

“Daddy, I only told her that I loved uncle Tunde. I have strong admiration for Sister Dupe’s husband and I thought It would only be appropriate if I voice my mind.”

“Bukky, would you shut up!” Bukky’s mother commanded as she erupted into a short burst of anger. “Do you not know that it is against our laws and tradition to lust after your sister’s husband?”

“Mama Shade, sit down and let me handle this.” Mr. Oni said in his usual calm tone. “Bukky, Dupe has said her part; I want to hear your own part of the story.”

“Daddy, that’s what I said o. There is nothing more to it than what I said earlier. Sister Dupe is just being melodramatic and of recent, she has been finding faults in everything I do and say. I would leave that her house for her soon sef, if care is not taken.”

“What are you doing in your sister’s house in the first place? Why are you not in school?”

“Mama Shade, let’s stick to the topic at hand. Her absence from school would be addressed after this.” Turning to Dupe, he asked. “What do you have to say about Bukky’s explanation?”

“Papa, that is a very simplistic and watery summary of what happened that day. Bukky even threatened me, she threatened to…” Eniola rushed to Dupe’s side as she broke down into sobs. When she was comforted enough to speak, she continued. “She threatened to tell Tunde who the real father of Jenny is.”

“Bukky! Bukky!” Dupe’s mother called. “I thought you had gotten rid of this habit of raining threats whenever something isn’t done your way, I didn’t know it still remains a dominant part of you.”

The man of the house took the center stage as he got up to speak. “Bukky, would you have preferred if you sister gave birth to a sick child as opposed to a healthy one? Tunde and Dupe disregarded the warnings of the doctor and insisted that they marry each other despite their genotype incompatibility and that was why I brought up the idea of artificial insemination.”

“But Daddy, artificial insemination or not, it is still another man’s child and if Dupe does not give me the permission to be with Tunde whenever I want, I wouldn’t hesitate to tell Uncle Tunde that he has been living in a fool’s paradise all the while.”

“Now I know better than to let you in on any of the secrets that this family shares. Tunde is not aware that Jenny is not his daughter and we would keep it that way.” Mr. Oni insisted.

“Daddy, you know what I am capable of doing so don’t dare me.” Bukky warned her father sternly.

It was Shade’s turn to speak. “Bukky, you can’t do that. You would be dragging daddy’s name in the mud if you did.”

“Well, all of you should watch and see.” Bukky begun to gather her belongings, as she prepared to exit the sitting room where the meeting was being held.

“Daddy, I have made up my mind.” Dupe said coldly. “I would rather have her sleep with Tunde than allow her tell him about Jenny’s paternity.”

“You must be out of your mind.” Dupe’s mother screamed. “I cannot believe you just said that.”

“Impossible.” Eniola roared. “That can never happen. I cannot even fathom the thought of it. Let her tell him if she wants to. She’s not going to have uncle Tunde.”

“I support Dupe.” Mr. Oni said after listening to the clamoring of his household. “I for one, would be stigmatized if the news of Jenny’s unknown paternity gets out. We must keep it within the family. Let Bukky have Tunde if Dupe is okay with it.”

“Over my dead body.” Dupe’s mother cried. “I’d rather die than, be party to any incestuous act. This is a sin and should not be done!”

“But uncle Tunde and I are not blood-related. So where does incest come into this?” Bukky asked with a look of dismay on her face.

“Bukky, as long as your promise to keep your mouth shut, then you can have Tunde. My word on this is final and this meeting is dismissed.”

Dupe’s father left the room.

Gbawe: I did not call Nigerians simpletons. Simpletons, as originally used, is in quote. meaning I am quoting the deceptive FG and their spin-Doctors. Why would they come up with this nonsense if they don't assume they are dealing with "simpletons"?

My brother, consider a wicked and deceptive Government that made Nigerians go through the pain of increased fuel price because so-called savings will be used for road, health, education, welfare, etc, etc.

In short they bullied Nigerians mentally to accept fuel subsidy removal because of how they presented it , more or less, as the only thing that would save the nation and assist her development. Now they are using those savings to buy light bulbs , a neccessary household expense accept by all, when we have not seen any impact on roads, health, education or real sector spending. It is GEJ's deceptive style at work. I.e Promise heaven and earth to get what he wants yet when he gets his way his actual effort is totally opposite to promises made.

I don't even want to go into talks of the promises they made for where our power generation should be today for anyone to come and be arguing that this silly and fraudulent spending is neccessary.
Clear&Noted!

According to criminology,

A coin is 2-sided.

Has it been confirmed if it
aint false accusation in d
first place by d parents.

The mother ''instantly''crying
in d first place is uncalled for.

Too early, especially when some
kids are still in d dept as reported
in dis case!

It happens sometimes dat one
will have to wait till d dept is empty,
but she didnt wait for half of dat,
before she started wailing.

Some people can do anything
for anything.

*****just saying*******
Also think abt it before a side
gets too much attention!

And FYI, Im neutral on this!

Peace out!

dorox: Mr. Eleng and family went to church on that day to get their blessing from papa oyedepor in exchange for the payment of tithes and offerings. What the got instead was the loss of something that is most precious to them. Their child. I am very sure that they now regret their presence in church on that day.
What a silly way of reasoning!

Politics › Re: PHCN Plans To Distribute Energy-saving Bulbs To All Households by ayobase(m): 7:28am On May 16, 2012
Gbawe: They don't need to buy and distribute energy saver bulbs this urgently. Disguy got it spot on when he talked about banning the use of normal bulbs. In most nations of the world, normal bulb are no longer made or imported. This idea has been operational in Ghana for several years now and you will hardly find anyone using normal bulbs anymore anywhere in Ghana. Shops no longer stock bulbs that are not energy savers.

This is merely meant to divert attention away from the FG's inaction over the revelations involving the subsidy scam. The thinking will be to distract "simpletons" (Nigerians) by doing something 'impacting' on a critical sector (power) the removal of subsidy has "funded". Nothing else makes sense since most Government worldwide have not taken this silly approach as there is absolutely no need or pressure to spend money on what people themselves must spend on as ongoing household expense.

People will always buy new bulbs to replace dead ones. Why not simply create a situation where , gradually, the only bulb available to buy is an energy saving one? Why tell us you must use subsidy removal savings this unneccessarily and all to begin very quickly and conveniently in the middle of a time many are preparing to confront the FG over its inaction against subsidy scammers? Folks, see through the "scam". I expect more of these frivolous actions from a Government desperate to divert attention away from its inaction.

No one should fall for the antics of this corruption-friendly Government. Bring subsidy scammers to book. All this window dressing is fooling no one.

naijasexy: Nervousness beleaguered Eniola as she tore open the envelope that contained her result. If Mr. Benson had kept his word of getting her eight other lecturers to grant her ‘grades that could put Einstein to shame’ as he had put it, then she had no reason to be worried. But she couldn’t get her brain to mute that little voice in her head that had a knack for starting sentences with ‘what if’s’. What if he hadn’t done as he said he would do? What if the other lecturers had refused his offer? What if….

Her eye balls remained motionless as she stared at the long list of E’s and F’s that was supposed to be her term result. Just as she had wished, she did have an A in Math 3023, the course for which she had Mr. Benson as a lecturer, but she’d earned woeful grades in her other courses and her cumulative GPA had taken a deep plunge.

“Oh my God, oh God. Stacy! Stacy!! Come oo.” The tears were flowing freely down her eyes, smearing her face with coaly mascara that once accentuated her dazzling eyes.

“Yes? Oh, you got your result.” Stacy said when she saw her friend. “You are crying tears of joy. How many A’s did you have?”

“Stacy, I am dead. I am finished.” Eniola said as she handed her unofficial transcript to her friend.

“Jesus Christ of Nazareth!” was the only thing Stacy could muster.

“Stacy. I thought you said.. I thought you said.. yee! Mo gbe.” Eniola held the lose end of Stacy’s jeans and screamed. “What do I do now? Stacy, answer me.”

“I honestly don’t know o. My friends who use Mr. Benson said he was reliable. I don’t know why he did not deliver this time.”

“Your friends? But you told me you have used him before. Don’t tell me you were lying.”

“Yes, I said I had used him before, but not directly. I only linked him up with my friends; I never slept with him myself.” Stacy denied.

“Oh my God Stacy! Oh God, I am finished. After everything! After all the…”

“Ssshh, it’s okay. It’s just this term; next term would be better, don’t worry.”

Eniola leaned on Stacy’s chest, shuddering with every tear that dropped from her eyes. “I’m in soup, I am dead.” She said one last time before picking up her report sheet to tear.
I guess Stacy must have used her then!
Fast one there!

naijasexy: Shade woke up in the middle of the night to pee. Upon opening her gummy eyes, she blinked profusely at her light bulb that shone brightly on the wall. She never went to bed without turning off the lights so she was a bit surprised and somewhat frightened that she didn’t wake up to darkness. She stared at the light as she fought to bring her mind to full consciousness.

“Oh!” She said, when she remembered that she had fallen asleep on her bed the previous night and hadn’t gone through her normal nightly routine of locking her door and switching off all the bulbs in her apartment. It was only after she had peed that she realized that she hadn’t changed out of her work clothes from the previous day.

“Oh!” She said again, as she recalled the thoughts that had lingered on her mind before she went to bed, the same drowning thoughts that had sent her to sleep. A worrisome glitch in her reproductive system disturbed her. She had noticed that her menstrual cycle was irregular and she was still expectant of her period even though it was due earlier in that week.

Just as she had done before she went to bed, she opened her walled and brought out an almost empty sachet of contraceptives and re-assured herself as she looked at it, that she wasn’t pregnant. She never missed any of the pills and she was religious with the time at which she took them every day.
“My period would come.” She said, as she stripped herself of her cooperate wear and threw on her nightgown. “It just has to come.” She said again, as she covered herself up and shut her eyes to the world.
