Gbadexy the fact that the internet promotes anonymity doesn't call for the insults.
The wig belongs †☺ us and we counsels appreciate its use. Maybe some time pass it was used by british gentlemen is not the issue. Even if it has been abolished in kenya, jamaica, UK, etc is not the issue. The issue is: are lawyers complaining about the use of the wig? If yes then it should be removed. It is not in the mouth of non-lawyers †☺ tell us the way we dress. We do not enter Τ̲̅ђe hospital rooms †☺ discuss your dressing $☺ please let us be.
Furthermore if you want †☺ know the value of the wig go †☺ law school!!!
Simple and soothing!

joudini: Rid yourself of subjective illusions. The English you just spat here is not effective communication.

What the poster is trying to do is just comparative analysis. He is trying to know why a practice is being continued when the originator seem to have discontinued it. And you musnt forget that many countries are discontinuing it.

If l may ask, if the British, THE ORIGINATOR, didnt start the practice of donning this blonde hair, wouldnt you have had any other jewel of wisdom, dignity and professional ethic?

The British who started it are withdrawing it, is that denying the profession of wisdom and competence?

Many other professions dont have a specific tin foil hat, does that make them lacking in wisdom?

Other professions are intimated of lawyers? Where did you pull that from? Ur arss?
I can see!
Must we always withdraw anytime
they withdrew?

Im sure u will say our Engineers shld
also stop putting on safety wears when they stopped using there!

Y cant we be a pace setter for once,
and not this follow follow syndrrome.

Once we stopped again, na we go still first laugh ourselves before they start laughing at us.

''Naija, they must follow...we know.''

torhuke: why do dis nicompoos want lawyerz to stop using wig and gown? Becos our colonial masterz stoped using it. Wen wil we eva suggest or do anytin good as a nation dat odaz av nt done b4? We av inherited brazilian & difrnt kind of human hair + g-string pants.. Let all d male posters start by nt fuckin any girl wt g-string pants or woman or human hair(whteva). Now dt gay sex & marriage is legal in america & most whyt countries, let nigerian fatherz start fuckin their sonz arses. Tell me any profesion u study in nigeria wtout makin refrence to colonial imputs dt added to d advance human knowledge & existenc. So in a bid to stop colonial influence, u can enroll yr child(ren) in boko haram camps.. Mumu people. Wen ur sick, u can go to a herbalist/babalawo instead of a hospital. Ediots, i dont knw wtf is wrong wt wigs & gowns wen therz nothyn wrong wt human air, wiz-kid cap & carrot trouserz, alanta dance & terry-g freemadness.... Laymen of d highest order insultin league of learned lawyerz & judges becos no 1 in their generation frm adam has been a lawyer.... I knw u guyz prefer chaley boiz dress code to dat of justice oputa & wil prefer lawyers dress like daddy showkey. Doctors shuld no longer wear lab coats to d laboratry or theathre & engineers shuld nt wear helmet & overaw becos our temperature is hot.... Bucnh of ignorant nitwits & nit-picking morons:
Oga lawyer I knew someone will eventually come with this kind of argument. It's quite different. Doctors wear their scrubs for a purpose... To avoid blood spills on their clothes and for protection. The clothes are usually white or blue because those colors encourage good health... How will u feel if the doc abt to carry out an operation on u is dressed in black or red. Pls what purpose does the wig serve minus boosting ur egos and reminding us that we once slaves to the whites. Anyway I know u be lawyer so u go still talk ur own. I dey wait.
Guy, how u wan make dem
to be unique.

No be everytime we go dey
antagonise.

We will do away with many things if we
r gonna do away with our ''mother''.

Allow the lawyers (judiciary) to determine
d doings and d undoings of theirs......

Since I wont tolerate a Lawyer deciding
for my profession, so.......

Our lives are mostly based on ego.
U cant take dat from anybody!

Phrankin: i completely agree with you on this. Nairaland is a great site and among my top five visited sites but there was a lack of creativity in the ch

Amaka G29: @ Coldfeet That was definitely a thought I had. I know I've said some outlandish things to discourage a guy who was interested.

I think character, personality, and compatibility are important. However, there is nothing wrong with trying to couple things things with financial security, even if it can be fleeting. At least I know you are ambitious enough to get the job even if you loose it. Or that you want more from life and will work hard for it. I don't mind working with a man, but his starting place when we meet and where he progresses as our relationship progresses will tell me about where he might be going.

My standards for a man are based on my standards for myself in terms of conduct, character, judgement, and status attainment. I have more to bring to a relationship than looks, so he better be bringing more to it than money. It is so interesting that looks and money are the relationship dichotomy that most immature people fall into.
I don dey fall in love with
u already!

gemstone22: Pls,sorry o but am curious. How many of the guys on this thread will like to marry a girl who only finished primary school or even secondary school? Won't most of you prefer to marry a doctor, lawyer, banker or a woman who works in an oil company? Won't you also prefer a woman that has some wad in her bank accounts to the one that will ask you for recharge card or money for menstrual pad and panties? How many of you go like to marry ugly girl wey no get the usual contour and wahala for her body? What is wrong if a woman says this is what I want in a man? Its her preferences.
By the way, there is nothing wrong with a woman who is 30 or over and single. There are many men who are out there who are over 30 and still single. The fact that a woman has preferences on the type man she wants doesn't mean she will stay single forever. It only mean she knows what she wants and if she desires it she will definately get it.
Halleluyah!
U better talk sense into these kids'
heads on NL instead of pampering them!
