justwise: Which means if the money is withdrown the embassy will know because the last transaction in the bank statement submitted to the embassy will not be the same the record in the banknope. the issue is that they wish to seek the details of the account based on what was submitted. example balance is N1,200,000. they will ask what the salary is ![]() they will ask if there was transaction of 500,000 on 28th of february 2013, they will ask for deposit and withdrawal details specifics. basing the decision on withdrawals post submission will be most unfair. bank also reserve the right to protect the applicants privacy. what is there is cash lodgement after the submission. will that not lead to a straight denial and a ban. ? |
justwise: You keep referring to this link, withdrawing the money after you have submitted is a bad practice, we should not be encouraging this here.if the embassy called you for an interview and required that you come with a fresh bank statement then you are in for a tough one. Whether the bank give away the bank balance to the embassy or not, the embassy have a way of going around it.what i know that happens is that the embassy calls the bank and asks for the transaction history if it tallies with the statement submitted. i saw this on a documentary of the UK border force. it was in india and they called the bank to clarify the details on the account. i once applied for a visa after picking up a loan of like 3 million. was delayed for 4 weeks but it was granted for the 4 of the applicants.my wife and family. the funds had depleted by the time the visa was granted. cant say for sure though if they ask for the current balance |
Asorock 1: Please house my interview comes up soon at Abuja consulate, please anyone with previous experiences can share please. God bless youBY THE WAY,I HAVE PICKED UP US B1/B2 VISAS IN ABUJA AND LAGOS. Lagos is very rowdy and difficult. about the VO's,maybe not much difference. I will forward more info soon. |
funmikosoko: Keep up the good work on this thread,I am always looking foward 2get a notification on this thread cos it educates me on visa issues.SEND THIS TO THE UK VISA SITE. |
JUST WATCHED THIS ON YOU TUBE. UK BORDER FORCE. A NIGERIAN WHO HAS OVERSTAYED PLAYING PRANKS. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AfIKI7PYdo |
durolaj: Hello, having observed the spate at which Embassies get busy in Nigeria, i decided to conduct a research about the level of genuinty and ingenuity as to which an average Nigerian will want to travel out at all course perhaps will never want to come back as the case maybe. It is no doubt that this is attributed to poverty, corruption in the high places thereby leaving our youths jobless. In view of this an average Nigerian wants to know how life is over the bar so the embassies should expect high patronage to this end. Embassies like the U.S, South Africa, U.K, Canada to mention but a few have being characterized by large number of Nigerians lately. upon this, the earlier mentioned embassies lately have recorded huge sum of patronage of persisting Nigerian even after being denied them Visa, yet they wont relent but persist.we are waiting for their responses. this is getting interesting. lol!!!! |
junkerhill: My brother, it depends on where you are going in Texas and which airport u want to land. There are many airports in Texas and their flight tickets are not the same. You can call your host to help you with the name of the international airport close to Houston cos I dnt think it has an int'l airport.you can go to murtala muhammed airport .they have an office there.you pay and you get your ticket |
http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/media-centre/news/net-migration-feb-28 got this on the UKBA site. kindly read. they dont want us to migrate apparently. LOL |
t4tharyo: Hello Houseforget it.that can be explained. ebuttemetta is an integral part of lagos. |
princess_skishy: Hello, nairalanders. Am new in this forum but have been reading all the posts here for a long time now. Some encouraging and some discouraging. Justwise, welldone anyways. I applied for a uk tourist visa in abuja for myself, my husband, two infants(twin girls) and my mother and I collected it today and we were given 6 months visa's. The visa's just took 10days. I and my mum applied as housewives and my husband and dad were sponsors. My husband has never travelled b4, my mum has travelled only to dubai, myself have been to sweden, ukraine, india and dubai. Am glad to add London to the list. I packaged our application myself and it worked. I have always been the one packaging my travels and it has been working. Believe me, u can do it too. Am so happy and I decided to share the news and also feel free to ask me any questions if u wish. MY QUESTION NOW IS IF I CAN APPLY FOR FRANCE VISA COS I WILL LIkE TO VISIT PARIS FROM LONDON. Thankscongrats.sure you can.just follow the rules and be able to afford it financially. |
jidebobo: Thanks so much for the link. But I still want more light to the query, because I applied as student with all necessary document from my guidance such C of O, Bank stat,& co. I wanted to know if I still need my personal bank statement as student to submit to embassy, because I don't have any.bros, bone matter. you are not qualified for a tourist visa. i believe you are yoruba. Most of the time, visit visas are for awon ti won jeun yo,ti o tun seeku. except you are from aristocratic family or you have been travelling for years under your parents. nobody will grant you a visa. you are attending a school not reckoned with by many nigerians.a computer school ??even NYSC do not get visas on their own merit. moreso, you do not have an income talkless of strong social ties. too many red flags. use another echo if you will but giving the probabilities.its a no-go |
Thanks so much, but will we get called to the same cubicle?? We have the same date&time but applied @ different time periods(my husby reschduled from an earlier date.knowing will enable us prepare and not leave anthing to chance. [/quote it will be better that you get interviewed at this time. me an my wife got our 2 year visas in september last year. tell the ladies arranging the forms across the road where u will line up that you are applying together as a family and that it was difficult to get an appointment as a family. they will call you together. |
LondonCool: Have a check at the Travel Lodge website, there are lots of cheap offers going on. For eg, a room at Travel Lodge Hotel at London City Airport goes for £25 a night on 13th Jan, £29 on 14/15 Jan and £46 on 16/17 Jan.there are a lot of hotels in west london-bayswater area that are cheap and good. check lily hostel, bayswater hotel, grand central, etc. you can get them for like 40 to 50 pounds |
alutaa: @allI WISH TO KNOW IF SHE STATED IN ANY OF HER APPLICATIONS THAT SHE IS MARRIED AND THE HUSBAND RESIDES IN THE USA? the reason is that the VO will know automatically that she is intended to rejoin her hsuabnd if the previous 3 refusals were as a maiden name, she should continue with the unmarried status for now. she will get the vistors visa being that she is well employed here with responsibilities. moreso, she has studied abroad and returned home despite working productively there. the red flags will be the denials and the unmarried status which she can explain away. she can get the b1/b2 but she should just visit and come back. the visa should be valid till the husband is free and wife has the ability to get the k1 or k3. all the very best.dicey situation. |
justwise: I was referring to the use of any sort of bank cardI guessed as much. how are you? would have loved to call you in december. travelled to the US enroute the UK. wanted the adventure!!!!!! stayed 7 hours on the depature leg at ibis heathrow and 30 hours on the depature leg at watford. too tired to do anything meaningful. take care bro. |
justwise: If you can prove that you have the money to finance the trip then they don't need show any financial proof.REALLY. SO HOW DID YOU GET TO EUROPE WHERE YOU ARE WRITING FROM ![]() ?JUST ASKING.NO PUN INTENDED. HAPPY NEW YEAR ![]() |
Vicjustice: The reason(s) for the refusal is neither given in your narration nor is it detailed in the refusal letter.very vague response from the ECO.i agree its somewhat of a luxury to attend a graduation with scarce funds but applying as a general vistor should have just sufficed.he earns very well.maybe the savings were weak or family ties not strong |
segzy2020: Please house, how much can I get a cheap flight from lagos to chicago this coming december? |
segzy2020: Please house, how much can I get a cheap flight from lagos to chicago this coming december? You must be very rich to be talking about lagos direct to chicago. Let me confirm your fears, there is no direct chicago flight. If you want a plane that will take you from lagos to chicago with stop-overs likely new york, atlanta, detroit(via KLM) or Houston(via United) This will cost at least $2500 to $3000.usually around 400k naira This can however be subverted if you are interested. I travelled to the USA and chicago for the first time last year. Left lagos by emirates at 2:30pm nigerian time 25/11/2012. Then we got to dubai at 1am.Had a 8 hour stop-over. We left dubai at 8am on the 26th and reached new york by 1pm 26/11/2012. I paid N225,000 for return ticket LOS-DXB-JFK and back. At JFK,after passport control,I went to a lot of terminals within JFK but could not get a chicago ticket.Got jetblue at $380. So I went to LGA-la guardia airport like 30 minutes drive from JFK. I got a united airlines for $250 to ORD-ohare chicago. After my conference,I got a cheaper ticket for $ 150. So saved some funds and had a great time. All the best. |

what is the purpose of your visit and which state are you visiting n the USA? also, whats your budget for me to advise on which airline ! |
ayobj: I just picked up my B1/B2 visa from the VAC in lekki.Received a mail from the US consulate saying I can use the visa!!!I will definitely concur. |
jub009: Well ain't changing my purpose of travel if am to book a new appointment within d short period & my intention to visit d us for a conference is real & genuie but I guz its due to my marital status(single) d VO might thought I wana migrate which ain't in my agenda. Inbox on waz terms 2 book a new appointmentYou will be highly favoured or damn lucky to get a visa for a business conference. How relevant is your conference to your work or specialty.how many years experience do you have at work or in business?what is your earning?what is your designation at work. The VO will say your circumstances have not changed and that's not too good. A lot of people get a refusal if they present the same scenarios. Its not looking too good, brother!!!!! |
bugzi: Was anybody asked to fill a form at the embassy before the interview? please respond.Nope. I have picked visas in Abuja and Lagos US embassies. Nothing of such!!!! |
beesuly: she is my family frd as I said earlier known each other from childhood.she do visit nigeria every year her last visit was last december.am 27 while she is 30.nysc salary is 19800,I ve a personal acct dat is very good but I don't want to use it because of my age n since am stil under my parent.can nysc be a strong tie to nigeria because lot of foreign student come home 4 dat because wit out it no job in nigeria.another issue is dat a coperate body is d one sponsorin me which is my father estate because my dad is late.den dat I was refused was based on student visa 4 my bsc which I later did in nigeriaYou can still apply and give it a shot! Your circumstances and ties are not the very best. NYSC earning 19800. Since documents may not be asked, you will have to present your case brilliantly and confidently. Does not stand a good chance, but the VO may fall for it. All the very best!!!! |
beesuly: Tnx 4 d good work in d house.pls I need advice as regard my us visa application,ve an appointment by month endin.am applyin as a tourist but ve n invitation from a family friend in d us but she is a lady we not datin jst frd,d iv state she is invitin me 4 xmas n new year dat i wil be accomodated in her house supported wit her pay slip, utility bill n her passport page she is an american citizen, single as well.am presently undergoin nysc which wil end by next year jun.my father estate re d one to sponsor d trip.ve been to 4 african country n uk several time stil ve visa dat xpires 2014,last traveled was april dis year 4 2wks.i need advise from d house as regard dis. geeez: Well I arrived the UK yesterday and I'm currently at my cousin's with my son. The UK border force didn't really stress me. Less than six questions. No mention was made of why I didn't use the visa all these while. She just asked what I do, when last I saw my cousin (asked me twice at separate intervals), what my cousin does in the UK, how long I'll be staying and then she took our thumb and index fingerprints and let us through.congratulations, you were damn lucky. six questions at the port of entry is a lot. you sure dispel her fears with you candor, carriage and answers. have a lovely trip and bring something for the boys. cheerio!!!!!!!!! |
amilimos: Hey house,Try www.travelstart.com.ng .its a new travel company and they have similar rates to wakanow. Take care |
opsy4real1: Hmmm it wasnt really a gud day for me. I was interviewed by da guy in da 1st cubicle near da entry/exit door. I wished i was interviewed by da guy at the last end as he approved literally all his interviewee's visa while i was there. I was denied on family tie issue. I wasnt married. Anyway I hope to reapply by late Nov. as married by then. And how much did u get the date for?THE GUY AT CUBICLE 7 did our interview. i hope your reapplying so soon will no be seen as desperation. one guy did it for 25k. the system in the US favours touts.i dont beleive in it but i have to fork out moneyto be obliged. all the best. |
opsy4real1: Lucky you! Congratulations on ur successful turn out...i also attended interview that same day as you. So u got interview appointment date on that same day?got it earlier in the month. hope your interview went well too? it was a good day for applicants generally. |
I wish to share my own interview experience for the benefit of all. I got an appointment through a tout at walter carrington for the 26th of september,2012. We left home at 5am for a 9:30am appointment. We got to the embassy before 8am. Me and my wife were the applicants. Outside the embassy were various sorts of people;hangers on,hustlers, drivers, applicants, visa agents. One visa agent said he could arrange a USA visa for someone ,non appearance fee-1 million naira. We were finally called in some minutes to 10am. Line was long and ardous.I had not eaten. Bought an apple and grabbed a bite. Finally,we made it inside the consulate. Submitted our passport and our receipts at window 11. Later,we were thumprinted. Window 1 was vicious, denied a lot of people. Window 2 was great, noticed he gave some well dressed women with no travel experience except dubai. Finally,we got to seen the visa officer at window 7 I have been to the US one(short stay B1/B2 visa) and the UK 3ce.My wife had been to the UK only once. VO:facing my wife, have you ever been to the US. Mama:No! VO: you were at the conference last year,is it the same conference. Me:yes! Wanted to give him a letter of invitation.he said no! V0:how many days did you stay? Me: 12 days. VO:maam, are you also a specialist medical doctor Maam: NO. VO: where do you work and what do you do? Maam: admin officer, bla bla bla. @..............teaching hospital VO: do you have any kids? Me:3. VO tears the green ticket)Pick up your visa in lekki next week. No document was seen or requested for!!! We had a nylon bag full of documents-academic,marraige,birth certificates, landed property, statement of account printed 3 weeks earlier. So that's the story.Hope someone picked something useful. |
I just picked up my B1/B2 visa from the VAC in lekki. i applied with my wife. while her picture on the visa was clear, mine was dark and i can barely make out my face.its a 2 year visa and i dont want issues with immigration during travel. i wish to know what to do. any body with a similar experience in the past. i am due to travel late next month. please advise! |
