justwise: You keep referring to this link, withdrawing the money after you have submitted is a bad practice, we should not be encouraging this here.if the embassy called you for an interview and required that you come with a fresh bank statement then you are in for a tough one. Whether the bank give away the bank balance to the embassy or not, the embassy have a way of going around it.

My husband is a Nigerian but born and bread in the UK,I visited him about 2 diff times in London n he also visited me in Nigeria about 2-3times too,n we also traveled to Egypt together b4 we got married last year.I stopped working in october 2012,while I got married in Nov 2012,I travelled back with my husband to London after our wedding in Nov n I spent 4months as I still have a 2years valid visa. I am back to Nigeria now but to file for my settlement visa. Please I need ur advice on wat documents myself n my husband need to provide,and also how much do I need to av in my acct. My husband's salary is £2000 per month.

durolaj: Hello, having observed the spate at which Embassies get busy in Nigeria, i decided to conduct a research about the level of genuinty and ingenuity as to which an average Nigerian will want to travel out at all course perhaps will never want to come back as the case maybe.It is no doubt that this is attributed to poverty, corruption in the high places thereby leaving our youths jobless. In view of this an average Nigerian wants to know how life is over the bar so the embassies should expect high patronage to this end. Embassies like the U.S, South Africa, U.K, Canada to mention but a few have being characterized by large number of Nigerians lately. upon this, the earlier mentioned embassies lately have recorded huge sum of patronage of persisting Nigerian even after being denied them Visa, yet they wont relent but persist.

I contacted the above mentioned Embassies for reasons why the number of people get visas are low to the number of people denied visas and this was there candid response..........

junkerhill: My brother, it depends on where you are going in Texas and which airport u want to land. There are many airports in Texas and their flight tickets are not the same. You can call your host to help you with the name of the international airport close to Houston cos I dnt think it has an int'l airport.

Confirm from your houston, go to Emirate office and book your flight, its cheaper there.

I filled my ds 160 form today, coz am going for my interview this week. But to my suprise i notice the PLACE of BIRTH on my data page is different from that of my "ds 160 confirmation page"
My "ds 160 confirmation page" shows my city & country(Ebute Metta Nigeria) has my place of birth, while my Passport data page shows the state(LAGOS) has my place of birth. Please what should I do? Before it gets too late.

I applied for a uk tourist visa in abuja for myself, my husband,two infants(twin girls) and my mother and I collected it today and we were given 6 months visa's. The visa's just took 10days. I and my mum applied as housewives and my husband and dad were sponsors. My husband has never travelled b4, my mum has travelled only to dubai, myself have been to sweden,ukraine,india and dubai. Am glad to add London to the list. I packaged our application myself and it worked. I have always been the one packaging my travels and it has been working. Believe me, u can do it too. Am so happy and I decided to share the news and also feel free to ask me any questions if u wish. MY QUESTION NOW IS IF I CAN APPLY FOR FRANCE VISA COS I WILL LIkE TO VISIT PARIS FROM LONDON. Thanks

I wanted to know if I still need my personal bank statement as student to submit to embassy, because I don't have any.

LondonCool: Have a check at the Travel Lodge website, there are lots of cheap offers going on. For eg, a room at Travel Lodge Hotel at London City Airport goes for £25 a night on 13th Jan, £29 on 14/15 Jan and £46 on 16/17 Jan.

Alternatively staying at Travel Lodge Hotel at Croydon or Crystal Palace would cost you £44 and £42 a night respectively from 14th January. At least you won't be inconveniencing any family during your stay in London, lol.

CAN SOMEONE ADVICE THE LADY BASED ON THE SCENERIO BELOW PLEASE

Hello house.... There is a friend of mine with a peculiar situation. Let me enumerate it as follow

1 Both she and her husband met 5 years ago (2008) in UK while doing their MSc. Prior to the commencement of their MSc, her husband won the 2008 Visa lottery with only his name on the application. They stated dating shortly before they finish their MSc (2009) and got married in 2011.
2 The husband got his green card in 2009 (he applied for the 2008 visa lottery in 2007 and didnt start dating his wife till 2009 after he got the green card visa. He actually want to forfeit the visa then and come to Nigeria but his fiancee then - present wife- advice him to relocate to US)
3 The husband is now in USA and he got a good job and earning a six figure salary (> 130K per year)
4 The wife has applied for US visa 3 times before ( A - as a student to attend a conference in US in 2009. B - for student visa to do her MBA in US in 2011 C- for student visa again in Lagos for MBA in US in 2011)
5 The wife got a job in a reputable UK company (between 2010 - 2012) and was earning good money too (40K pounds) during the time she applied for US student visa and each time, she was denied and was even advised by the US embassy people in UK that she should go back to Nigeria because she doesnt show enough tie to UK. That , the case might be different if she applied at US embassy in Nigeria.
6 The wife was recruited by a company in Nigeria in July 2012 and she presently head a department in the company and have about 12 people working for her.

Now, she want to apply for US visit visa again based on a conference. All the document that will be use for the visa application will be provided by the new company in Nigeria

Is it ok if she apply for a US visitor visa and did she stand a chance of getting one this time round. The last time she applied for a visa at the US embassy was 08/2011.

Please note, the husband doesnt want to apply for the spouce of Green card holder visa for her (F visa) because of the long waiting list. Their excuse was that by the time it will get to her turn for the F visa, he will be a citizen by then and also he doesnt want to jeopardize her chance of coming to US on visitor vsa in case her company want to send her to US for training or any other purpose ( if he file for her, she will not be given any other visa) .

Also, she want to apply now for the visa with her maiden name

Any advice for her please....

justwise: If you can prove that you have the money to finance the trip then they don't need show any financial proof.

I have never booked a flight from Nigeria so i wouldn't know the acceptable card to use.

i applied with my wife.
while her picture on the visa was clear,mine was dark and i can barely make out my face.its a 2 year visa and i dont want issues with immigration during travel.
i wish to know what to do.
any body with a similar experience in the past.

geeez: Well I arrived the UK yesterday and I'm currently at my cousin's with my son. The UK border force didn't really stress me. Less than six questions. No mention was made of why I didn't use the visa all these while. She just asked what I do, when last I saw my cousin (asked me twice at separate intervals), what my cousin does in the UK, how long I'll be staying and then she took our thumb and index fingerprints and let us through.

opsy4real1: Hmmm it wasnt really a gud day for me. I was interviewed by da guy in da 1st cubicle near da entry/exit door. I wished i was interviewed by da guy at the last end as he approved literally all his interviewee's visa while i was there. I was denied on family tie issue. I wasnt married. Anyway I hope to reapply by late Nov. as married by then. And how much did u get the date for?
