thanks for your good response justwise, but I
have been employed as supervisor in my dad
company now and I have all the appointment
letter that will back that up.but presently I am
not on salary roll yet but just commission and I
have explain the reason in the application as
well, though the company as the sponsors is not
paying all the traveling expenses but they just
want to give part of the money like 270k and I
have explained that in a written form included in
the doc.I put my 3plot of land as tie and my
wedding cert.included my one year old birth cert.
too, letter written by my wife and sign that she is
into business and also capable of handling any
situation when I am off for the 10days....what do
you still think about this?hope to hear from you
.thanks
Immigration intent is smelling badly here and you don't seem to be helping matters.
A clear explanation of your situation was explained to you.
Yet you want to go all out.You will even submit a letter from your wife.
Its 95 percent sure that you will be denied.

Pls I want to ask a question..pls will be glad to receive a reply...

My Dad was issued an America visa few weeks ago..through is processing he register all his spouse in the document my mum nd other children...

Now plan change one of my brother taught of following him for the short trip...

My question is will my brother start a fresh visa processing or he can use my dad's visa advantage to get his own visa easily since his name is among the children on my dad visa document in the embassy?
Children are not included in us visa applications. No space like that in the ds 160.your brother will have to apply for the visa in his own right.i smell an immigration intent here.....

Pay visa fees, fill ds 160 for each of them. One of u takes them to the embassy. I do not think in the circumstance, the kids will be denied. I IMO, the point of travel history as a family is moot now. U went , came bck, wifey went and came back. Na the itsy bitsy babies go run away now? Or na now when u carry responsibility go, u go run?

Mr Iphie and cybercafe boy were in the emassy (technically american soil) and finished their misdeeds.
Now even if the above wasn't so, in what pararrel universe is is ok to openly talk about lying?

He may very well come back.

Sorry about your ordeals at the US embassy in Lagos. If it was possible I would gladly borrow you my visa, as you have been a blessing on this forum. Just keep faith, for your interview would be successful. Cheer.
The embarrassing treatment in lagos should be dealt with.except the long waiting space on the other side of the road.No other arrangement for seating is available. You are expected to be in a single line and file.
2 years ago,you will be afforded somewhere to sit and get yourself together before the interview. No that has stopped.
Abuja has a smaller interview area but the seating arrangement is okay and no funny lines or out of embassy arrangement.
Naija must be dignified.

Gratitude to all of you for the advice and encouragement.
I reported here that my passport was stolen with my visa in January this year.
I wrote a mail to the embassy in february.
I reapplied afresh and my visa was granted in april.
The VO asked for a police report and grilled me on my previous travels.

Last week.i applied for my kids 3 of them and they were also given.
I will be a visiting fellow at the University of Michigan Medical Centre in Ann Arbor in the summer so many goodies await you guys.
Travelling with the whole crew.Tickets are very crazy at the moment and will be worse then.
That will be my fourth US visa application all succesful.so permit me to call myself a veteran.
Will henceforth be a regular contributor and adviser to all intending applicants.

Once again.Muito obrigado and Danke shone!!!

Advise for drop box.

- My 2 years B1/B2 US visa is expiring next month.
I wish to reapply with my wife whose visa also expires same day.
My 3 children have never been to the USA and will also need visas too.
I read that they can apply through the drop box process too even in their first time.
They are minors.my first daughter is 11 years old.

Please enlighten me how do we arrange it.
Thanks

meggy11: Fill ur ds160( u will be asked tf u re travelling alone or not, then u will indicate) year wife and kids will need their own DS160 forms too. When scheduling an appointment, there are certain questions u will be asked and if u meet up with the requirement then u are good to go. U may need to attach the kids passports with urs cos I believe u will be sponsoring them. Even if they haven't travel to d US or any other country they can still be issued visas.
All d best.
We qualify for drop box.
The visas for me and my spouse is 2 years.
How do the kids come inhuh?

i was at the vfs centre in ikeja yesterday.picked the visa application of my wards-my 3 kids and mynyounger sister.on opening the package,we found out hat the children were granted and my sister was denied.
the kids were in the uk 2 years ago.my sis never been to Britain.went to south africa for training 6 years ago.

reason were insufficient funds despite submitting pay slips, bank statement and letter from place of work stating salary of 100k.i put it there i will sponsor partly.the husband also put his statement although weak.
first, she was not recognized as my sister.the refusal letter stated she was my colleague and asked why she was to be with us at the UK.
we had our birth certificates, marriage certificates and had a similar cover letter with my children.
she is 30 years old, does not preclude assistance from siblings.

a lawyer offered us to write for a review to the UK high commission. Does that make sensehuh?
how do we correct these issues in a few weeks.
we billed to travel by christmas!

Your balance doesn't determine ur visa bt ur authenticity of ur travelling.

I once applied for a Swiss visa for a weekend getaway with less than 100pounds in my account (based on the rule of 30euros per day as living expenses) and I got 6months multiple. I applied again much later....same category, similar docs but with over 1,000 pounds in my account and I was given just 3days single entry visa, even though I requested for multiple entry grin (awon were) cool So I agree that it's not all about the money in your account but the various other factors the VO considers.

However, I will suggest that first time applicants for UK visas (self-funding their trip) considering how the rules are getting stricter should have at least 1m - 1.5m

I had a colleague who was going for a training in newcastle in 2008.she submitted a statement of account with 20K.was a sponsored conference.of course she was succesful.has not been to the UK since that trip.serious and true story.I have another firnd who gets her Uk visas from mainland europe since she has a resident permit.she says her account is usually between 500 to 1000 Euro for visas.juxtapose that to the 2 million I always hear is required here!!!
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by ayobj: 9:22pm On Nov 08, 2013
funkybaby: no, its not. myself and many people i know have done this several times successfully even for applications within the UK.

what matters is the closing balance on your bank statement and the genuinity of your bank statement.

if UKBA is to verify, what they confirm with the bank is whatever balance is on the bank statement that you've submitted.

do remember that applications are considered holistically.

you could leave 5m in your bank account for one year and still get a refusal and you could apply with less than 1m deposited within 6months or less and still get an approval
I can confirm this on personal experience.
I applied for a 2 year UK visa with my wife last year July.I had 593k in my account. My wife had 67K.we were succesful.By the time the visas were granted.we had spent the money.I am sure they base the decision on your perceived financial capabilities NOT on your account balance

Guys i need your jelp.
we will be going for our annual vacation in the UK in december 2013.
me and my wife have valid 2 year Uk visas.
my children will however require renewals.
they are ages 10,8 and 5.
i have never used the online route in all my visa applications.
the UKBA and Visa4Us websites are not helpful.

questions-
do the kids have to fill forms individually.
i have already filled forms for the eldest and added all our names as accompanying her.
but it does not seem to suffice as a visa application.
what do we do?

kindly advise.

CareerRe: Basic Medical Science In Nigeria - The Way Forward? by ayobj: 10:55pm On Sep 19, 2013
Guys there is no need to brandish insults.
The plain thruth is that the BMS graduates have no role in clinical and hospital practice.
I say this with all sense of responsibility.
The formation of these courses were meant to produce lecturers in the basic medical sciences.
But the enrolment has increased so much that that has failed.the thinking then was that medical doctors may not be fascinated by being such lecturers whsich has also become a fallacy.
Retaining it as a course is of no relevance.
I am medical doctor post 13 years qualification.
I have specialist qualification in radiology.
I write reports on various anatomical parts everyday-arteries,nerves,corona radiata, muscles, viscera etc.
I don't need an anatomoist in my clinic.
Radiological anatomy is different from gross anatomy.
My catheterising the urethra does not need a BmS input.
What will a BMS do in the theatre. The surgeon himself is a surgical anatomist. He has not business in theatre if he can't identify and navigate the planes.

Let's count it out,you don't need to be a graduate to be a phlebothomist, ecg or eeg operator.these are short courses in many developed countries-like 3 to 6 month.ran into a nigerian teenager in chicago who is a ECG tech.I was trying to encourage her to go to medical school.
Its so disheatning we don't plan in this country hence this huge mistake.
Just my opinion.Comments welcome

VisaOfficer: Maybe I'm not understanding what you mean by current? I just meant it should be an open, existing, active account, not a statement from 2011 or something. My apologies if I misunderstood. smiley
It means a checking account using US terminology.
Current means they use checks to withdraw money.
Savings usually don't require checks

Hw long was the conference you went for then. Cos mine is just for 6 days and I hope it's not too short. Could you pls give the details of hw you interview was.

RED FLAGS EVERYWHERE!!!
what did you study?are you gainfully employed.
being a fresh graduate is not good enough.
then you having no funds kills it all.
what is the relationship of the sponsor to youhuh

my conference is related to my specilty.
it was only 6 days too in chicago.

Mascotizer: I salute you all.
I urgently need to know how feasible it is to get a VISA for attending a Conference in the USA from Nigeria.

I found a conference that suits my career path and that is definitely going to make a huge impact on my CV (If attended). But my fear is that, haven read some comments I noticed it is ONLY Masters and PHD visas that are most likely given to we Nigerians.

Although I am at the verge of registering for the conference but I need to know the likelihood of me getting a VISA cos it will be so devastating if after paying the conference fee and Hotel booking I am denied VISA (Cos the fee is non refundable)....that is why I am putting this to all the Travel Gurus and Experts here on this thread to pls kindly enlighten me...I would'nt mine to refrain from applying if getting a Visa is not certain and precarious.

Anyone who have ever gotten a Visa through conference OR knows someone that knows someone that has gotten a VISA to USA through Conference should also pls share his/her story.

Thanks y'all (Anticipating Replies)
lets know about your educational background, present job and income and your travel history.

can we also know you age and social ties-married or not.businesses/landed property.
this will go a long way.

i travelled to the US for the first time for a conference too.
it was boldly written on the visa.

you want to use it to build a CV,so its worth the while.
