My cousin was offered admissn to study medical lab sci in unilag and was also offered admissn to study physiotherapy in her 2nd choice schl OAU.she has paid and resumed in unilag but she thinks physiotherapy is d beta option in almighty OAU and she is also think abt how relevant she'll be after schl as per available jobs,pay,satisfactn etc pls xperienced nairalanders shl giv advice

I cant believe some people can berate Chemistry as low as this. Chemistry is not about being a chemist alone. It ranges in all fields from Medical to Meteorology to the oil industry.

chemistry is gud but where are d jobs?chemists work in companies like oil,pharmaceutical,cement but where are d vacancies?pls no one is sayin chemistry is bad buh it becomes worst wen compares wit MLS especially in dis country.@tizzie,u can go for chemistry if u dont mind workin as a teacher after schl and u can also be lucky to get a job in afformentiond companies but d chance is slim.most oil companies wil even prefer to employ a chemical engineer gan while 80% of d workers in phamaceutical companies are pharmacists,pharmacologists,microbiologists etc

abiodunalasa: am not talking as a unilorite, am talking as a Nigeria student. if we are to rank Nigerian universities based on their academic performance at present, I tell u, no one beat Unilorin.
Its not a matter of old professors or mediocre international students. its about how valuable ur students are in the labour market.
Mr. Bakare graduated with 2.1 in unilorin only for him to turn out the over all best student in UI amidst their first class students after his masters.
Just last year unilorin emerge winner amidst other African universities during a law and engineering competition.
Infact, I don't av time for counting.
If u are not a student of unilorin, pls get one as a friend !

Bolaji21: I still maintain my stand dat UI is living on past Glories. The number of UTME applicants they get per year provesd it. In 2011, around 60,000 applicants filled in for UI. In 2012, 40,000 applied and I can assure u dat the number is still gonna reduce this year while the number of applicants in some schools keep increasing. Ask urself why.

All the things u listed above are past tense. Who do u expect of a sch dat was founded in 1948. Some schs were founded just 20yrs ago and they're already competing with UI. *just saying*

tanx ma'am.no one scammed silas.i am d one given dem info abt ui admissn ryt 4rm day one.wen he came to ui 4 his post he stayed with me.abt 2 or 3months ago wen were discussin on facebook and ask if i can help him with d post utme and i said admissn in ui is strictly on merit and no shortcuts.i told him if he d post utme questns are cheap and dat he shld try and get at least 50% in d post utme.my old friend who is doing his IT in ui had earlier told me to giv him 5candidates 4 d post utme and he wil settle me after d deed has bin done i den told sillas abt it bt advise him nt to do it cos i knw d questions wld be cheap bt he insisted on payin 4 it.i called him on friday to come to ui so dat we can go and meet d guy in his office so dat he can knw am nt a scammer.he later came on sunday and i introduce him to d guy but silas couldnt pay wot was asked of him which made d guy refused to collect anytin 4rm him.i later told d guy dat silas is my broda and d guy said hw come we are brodas cos didnt resemble each oda.silas later begged him and he collected 15,000 4rm him.d guy den told him to 4get abt answerin d post utme questns correctly bt i told silas to ignore his advise and answer d post utme questns correctly and silas said alrit.he slept in my room and i followed him to his exam venue on d exam day and i told him to 4get abt payin 4 anytin and face his questions.unfortunately,out of dos 5candidates only 3made it.to my surprise silas got 25 out of 100.silas den call dat guy and d guy told him dat he has given me d money to pay back to him bt d guy hasnt given me anytin.dats wot happend.av bin callin d guy to make d money ready we resume cos it seems he always tel stories anytime i call him bt silas said d guy has given me d money.pls sum1 shld help me paste dis post on ui admissn thread
