When the arrow of God is no longer at ease, things fall apart."
The crisis in National Union of Road Transport Worker is taking another dimension with Alhaji Agbede plotting and planting the seed of trouble in Lagos NURTW. The basis of selfish interest of the Chairman is not farfetched from the recent defeat of Agbede in the just concluded national NURTW election where the embattled Lagos Chairman loss gallantly to the incoming National president of the Union.
NURTW isn't a thuggery or tout association but a union of people with high Calibre and integrity who has the passion for the defense of our democracy and unity of the nation in general.
Alhaji Tajudeen Agbede is gradually planting the forbidden tree that might bear a forbidden fruits like the biblical apple, in the midst of the union, the report fetched uphold the loose to Alhaji Baruwa as the real reason of sudden planting of the forbidden tree in Lagos State NURTW in a way to put the Lagos State chapter into unnecessary chaos and imbroglio before the expiration of his tenure.
Every union has its modus operandi of operation and electoral practice which ought to be respected all times without hindrances and bye passing of processes that will champion in the new elected executives of the Union.
History in one way or another always stumble on individuals who take personal interest and godfatherism above collective interest and that is what Alhaji Tajudeen Agbede symbolises. Prior before 2015 election, Lagos NURTW has been put in the purse of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in which some millions of naira was collected from Chief Olabode George to work in support of PDP. Though every citizen is entitled to freedom of association but not to make the union or association an appendage of PDP.
The history is about to repeat itself with the introduction of "save my shame" agenda of Alhaji Tajudeen Agbede to militarily impose one Wale Ajilo as his successor of Lagos NURTW Chairman and what does the union stand to gain? Another PDP NURTW, No respecter of electoral processes and militarisation of the union. Similar actions of militarisation and godfatherism made Alhaji Tajudeen Agbede to loose woefully to Alhaji Baruwa when it was reported that: the street of Oshogbo was turned to a shooting range by the hoodlums of Alhaji Tajudeen Agbede.
People of this nature and his stooges like: Wale Ajilo are not fit to be in the affairs of governance, a scenario where members of NURTW were shut out to elevate Wale Ajulo behind close door. Is that what democracy preaches?
Lagosians must come to the aids of rescuing the Union from wolves and lions, stakeholders must halt the steps of this Adolf Hitler of NURTW. And the antention of security agencies of the state is called to checkmate the excesses of Alhaji Tajudeen Agbede and Wale Ajilo before turning the state into Anarchism.

F. O. JOHNSON: THE NEXT PRESIDENT TUC NEVER HAD. REST IN POWER.
On Thursday, 27th. May, 2019, the President of Pentroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN died at about 3.00 am in an hospital in Portharcourt city, River State. He had just returned from Dubai that week. He complained of stomach upset the night before and was rushed to the hospital only to bid this cruel earth good bye in the wee hours of the next morning.
Born forty eight years ago , Francis Olabode Johnson hails from Lagos Island in Lagos State. He is reputed to be a jolly good fellow by his colleagues, Comrades, associates, friends and family.
He took over the reins of Administration of PENGASSAN in 2013 and was billed to hand over power in June this to pursue higher level of service to the labour movement as the President of Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC. As it were, I arrangements have been concluded to field him as the unanimous, consensus candidate for this post later this month.
During his tenure as the President of PENGASSAN, he demonstrated exemplary humane leadership by example. His style was practical engagement of the various managements in the sector under his watch to ensure full execution of Collective Bargaining Agreement. He negotiated good Redundancy Agreement package with terminal benefits for workers affected. He was the Chairman of the joint sectoral union, NUPENGASSAN entrenching cordial relationships between the union as against the prevailent belligerent relations before his leadership. He and the President of NUPENG, Williams Akporeha related like blood brothers.
Johnson was an intense humanitarian. One of the leaders of the union, Ngozo Chiweizie, the zonal Chairperson of Women in PENGASSAN broke down in controllable tears when she had of the news of his sudden demise. Johnson had personally sponsored one of her children for medical treatment abroad to the tune of Five million Naira.
As we commiserate with the family, PENGASSAN,the oil sector and entire labour movement,n, we urge his fighting soul and deeds to keep haunting the traducers of the labour movement and all oppressed working as well as toiling People.

Gunshots by some individuals led by Alhaji Tajudeen Agbede made people of Oshogbo in Osun state to run for safety when the music not audible to human was played on wednesday 15th of may 2015.

An eyewitness reported the scenario and the level of injury sustained by innocent citizens when the hoodlums led by Agbede started firing when it was learnt the nurtw election might not be in favor of the Lagos state chairman of the union.

The hoodlums were able to cause fears in the city with the support of some uniformed personels from Nigerian police force. The issue is: When did Nigerian police force turned an instrument of public disturbance or were they swept under money intoxication to have aligned to such madness?

The boko haram and herds men issue that have claimed lives and properties in some part of nigeria is still a monster haunting the nation and if the security of lives is left under instrument of destruction like Alhaji Tajudeen Agbede, then the entire nation might totally be consumed.

It calls for a sober reflection to see those aspiring to lead a union to have instigated violence in a peaceful state that: for quite a while have not witnessed scenes of gun duel and agbede's boko haramism tactics, the Union in its way to save and protect its long lasting integrity must totally disqualify elements like Alhaji Tajudeen Agbede, his thugs etc and be investigated.

Lots of people across the state are currently battling with Wednesday Agbede's phobia or either nursing the wounds sustained from the incidents. Election isn't a do or die situation but a service to humanity. so many elections of National union of road transport workers had been held in time past with no iota of violence and a precedent of violence must not be allowed whatsoever. Assassins must not be allowed to control the prestigious office he might be vying for. Nigeria isn't in an era of baba rere! Baba ke! But an era of simplicity with better vision.

PoliticsNigerian Economy On Life Support by ayodelej(op): 8:55am On Aug 26, 2018
A former governor of Anambra, Peter Obi, has said that the Nigerian economy is on life support due to the rising debt profile of about N22.7 trillion.

Mr Obi, disclosed this at the ‘2018 This Generation Conference’ organised by the Summit Bible Church, with the theme: “Taking Responsibility, Making Nigeria Great,” on Saturday, in Abuja.

According to him, the high unemployment rate was orchestrated by bad governance and if 50 per cent of the country’s revenue is used to settle such debt Nigerians will continue to groan.

The former governor, who was the guest speaker, implored voters to weed out people who lack the technical know-how to revamp the nation’s economy and render good services.

“Our educational system is too low. Our per capita is 2000, and since our population growth is higher than the growth of our GDP, the consequences in the future will be higher than what it is today.

“China adopted the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), when it was told that it had the poorest people in the world and it took over four hundred million people out of poverty.”

Mr Obi, however, said that for Nigeria to get it right, people who have ideas, capacity and have managed resources before should be brought forward to change the poor narrative.

PoliticsSARS Operative Arrested by ayodelej(op): 8:38am On Aug 26, 2018
The Osun State police command said it has arrested an officer of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) who allegedly shot dead Tunde Nafiu, a 30 year old resident of Iwo in the state on Thursday.

The police also said 31 of the protesters have been arrested.

This was contained in a release signed by the state’s spokesperson, Folasade Odoro, on Saturday.

PREMIUM TIMES reported how a police officer attached to the SARS shot Mr Nafiu, which led a violent protest.

The protest resulted in the burning of a police station as well as the vehicles parked inside it.

“Information was received that an operative of the Special Anti Robbery Squad attached to the Area Command Headquarters, Iwo allegedly shot and fatally wounded one Tunde Nafiu ‘m’, aged 30 years at Agboigboro in Iwo.

“The Area Commander immediately moved out, doused the tension and assured the gathered youths that justice will be done. The officer that allegedly fired the shot that killed the deceased was promptly arrested and transferred to the SCIID, Osogbo for interrogation,” it said.

The statement highlighted that in the early hours of 24/8/2018, a very large crowd of youth thronged the Area Command Headquarters to protest the killing.

“The protest was however hijacked by some hoodlums who took the law into their hands. In the process, they torched the buildings housing the offices and residence of the Area Commander as well as three patrol vans and two other vehicles belonging to the officers of the Area Command.

“The Police exercised serious restraint in order to prevent further loss of lives. However, the hoodlums were eventually dispersed while 31 of them were arrested and undergoing interrogation. The situation has been brought under control while people are going about their lawful businesses,” the statement read.

Mrs Odoro also said the state’s commissioner of police has visited the deceased family at Ileogbo to commiserate with them on behalf of the police force.
PoliticsMutiny In Nigerian Army by ayodelej(op): 9:15pm On Aug 25, 2018
Nigerian Army will investigate a mutiny that occurred on Wednesday in military barracks in Maiduguri. This was disclosed by the army spokesperson Major General Christ Olukolade. He said the inquiry will be on "the circumstances surrounding the conduct of soldiers who fired some shots while the General Officers Commanding was addressing troops in Maimalari cantonment Maiduguri." Two soldiers told SaharaReporters that some soldiers of the 7th Division shot sporadically into the air at the Maimalari Barracks when they were being addressed by their General Officer Commanding (GOC), Major General Abubakar Mohammed.  Olukolade said that the incident occurred right after the corpses of four soldiers killed in an ambush on their way back from patrol duties in Chibok were being conveyed to the morgue. A 'reliable source' told Premium Times, however, that not four but 12 soldiers perished in the ambush. According to the source, the angered soldiers opened fire on the vehicle of the GOC. The military dismissed this version of the events as an "unfounded rumour". The 7th Division was established two months ago specifically for combating Islamist insurgents Boko Haram. GOC Major General Mohammed was appointed in February.  The reason for the mutiny among the soldiers is believed to be the lack of adequate weaponry, delay in payment of allowances, and discontent with the troops rotation system that makes it very hard for soldiers to be redeployed and take a break from exhausting war against Boko Haram. "We the soldiers don’t have the kind of arms and ammunition that [Boko Haram] fighters have. So everyday, they kill our men anyhow, but it is never published in the media," a source told Sahara Reporters. Another source said that the commanding officers "are too busy ‘eating’ money. And they do not pay our allowances on time. And once [a soldier dies], nobody knows what happens to his allowances again." {read_more} Premium Times learned from its sources in the military that the aggrieved soldiers blamed the death of their colleagues on the military hierarchy in the division. According to the sources, soldiers were ambushed while on a special operation in Kalabalge LGA where residents had on Tuesday killed some 150 insurgents. After the operation the soldiers were told to return to the barracks in Maiduguri, but they allegedly pleaded with their higher-rankings to wait till the morning saying that a night trip might be too risky. The request was reportedly turned down, said a ranking soldier who requested anonymity.  Half way through their journey Boko Haram ambushed the soldiers and 12 of them, the sources added. "When the corpses of the slain soldiers were brought to Maimalari barracks in the morning, the GOC had to go there to address the troops. As soon as they spotted the vehicle of the GOC driving into the barracks, some of the vexed soldiers suddenly started shooting at the approaching vehicle; it took an extra effort by the GOC’s driver to retreat back and luckily helped the GOC survive by the whiskers," the ranking soldier added. Another top security personnel in Maiduguri who spoke off the record said described that action of the soldiers as "misplaced and unprofessional because, the time of the day does not determine when soldiers or troop should move from one point
