Christianity Etc › Re: The Anointing That Comes Through Fasting by ayoncox: 10:33am On May 14 |
[quote author=Truthseeker10 post=139397923]the essence of fasting isn’t to “create” more anointing, it’s to deal with the vessel carrying it.
Think of it like this: the anointing is like petrol, and we’re the pipes. The petrol itself doesn’t run out or diminish, but if the pipe is blocked, nothing flows. Fasting is one of the ways God uses to clear out those blockages — the distractions, the flesh, the spiritual weight — so there’s nothing hindering the flow.
The Bible actually shows this pattern in the scriptures you’re talking about:
1. We’re called vessels 2 Cor 4:7 says, “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.” And 2 Tim 2:21 says, “Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.”
The focus is on the vessel being clear, not on making more treasure.
2. Fasting removes hindrances In Isaiah 58:6,9 God says, “Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free… Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry, and he will say, ‘Here I am.’” And in Matt 17:21 , Jesus tells the disciples, “This kind cannot be driven out by anything but prayer and fasting.” The blockage was in them, not in Him.
3. Our body is the temple 1 Cor 6:19-20 reminds us, “Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you… glorify God in your body.” Fasting helps us deal with the flesh and distractions so the Spirit isn’t grieved or quenched.
So fasting doesn’t add to God. It aligns and cleanses us so what’s already in Him can flow freely through us. |

I recently founded the Human Empowerment and Neighbourhood Development Foundation (HEND Foundation), and this opportunity aligns strongly with our vision for youth empowerment and community development in Nigeria. Our foundation is focused on empowering young Nigerians, especially youths from underserved and low-income communities, through digital education, innovation, skills acquisition, mentorship, and community development initiatives. The laptops will play a major role in helping us achieve several key objectives, including: 1. Digital Skills Training We are currently planning programs that will train youths in digital literacy, graphics design, web development, content creation, data analysis, AI tools, and remote-work skills. Many young Nigerians have the willingness to learn but lack access to computers. These laptops will serve as practical training tools during workshops and community learning sessions. 2. Youth Innovation & Entrepreneurship Support We intend to support young entrepreneurs with basic digital resources to help them build CVs, business plans, online stores, presentations, and digital products. The laptops will help participants gain hands-on experience while learning how to build sustainable income opportunities. 3. Community ICT Learning Hub One of our goals is to gradually establish a small community digital learning center where students, job seekers, and aspiring tech talents can gain access to computers and internet-enabled learning opportunities. These laptops will serve as foundational equipment for that vision. 4. Educational Support for Students Many students in Nigeria struggle to complete assignments, research, or acquire computer knowledge due to lack of access to devices. The laptops will be used during educational outreach programs, training bootcamps, and mentorship sessions targeted at secondary school leavers and undergraduates. 5. Administrative and Outreach Operations As a growing nonprofit organization, we also require digital tools for project coordination, volunteer management, proposal writing, impact reporting, awareness campaigns, and communication with stakeholders and beneficiaries. Our mission is centered around helping communities discover that they are valuable, capable, and full of potential when given the right opportunities and tools. We believe technology is no longer a luxury but a necessity for empowerment in today’s world, and your support through these laptops will directly contribute to building digitally empowered youths who can positively impact their communities and Nigeria at large. Thank you once again for this opportunity and for the work you are doing to support social impact organizations. We can agree to disagree, no shaking You are funny, do you know that for about 2 30 years only 2 African countries have functional refineries until Dangote came in, that's Libya and Algeria. Mike Adenuga is one, Cuppy Dad is another one and sure there are couple Nigeria is bleeding serious cash when the unrefined oil is being exported out to be refined and send back to Nigeria as diseal , petrol , jet fuel , kerosene . Ibrahim1985: A few is enough to start building a refinery. Many are called , few are choosen. There are at least 10000 Nigerians who are wealthy , even if na 6 , it is possible. It is far better than a politican storing money in an offshore account. Building refinery creates jobs, help reducing Nigeria dependency on imported oil and help keep capital in Nigeria. Nigeria need at least 4 refineries to work. 1 working refineries is not enough for Nigeria population of at least 180 millions. How many of them can take the risk of coughing out or borrowing $1B and above for that, how many will want to collaborate these are the issues |
Investment › Re: Would You Rather Travel To UK With 30 Million Or Invest In Nigeira? by ayoncox: 2:15pm On May 06 |
Oracleee: I understand your point and on paper, that strategy is solid.
Capital preservation with ₦20m, then using ₦10m to take calculated risks while compounding over time that’s textbook wealth-building. But the issue is the environment you’re applying it in.
In a stable economy, that approach works perfectly. You can safely park funds, earn predictable returns, and deploy the rest into opportunities that scale. In Nigeria today, the variables are less predictable
Inflation can quietly wipe out safe returns Policy changes can affect even low-risk instruments.
The real sector (where the ₦10m goes) is highly unstable and cost-intensive So while the idea of “stay safe + scale gradually” is correct, the execution risk in this environment is much higher than theory suggests.
Also, with ₦30m, this isn’t just a portfolio decision it’s a life positioning decision. That’s why some of us are leaning toward relocation or systems with more stability, even if returns are slower. You’re thinking like an investor, which is valid. But in this case, the bigger question is, is the environment worthy of that strategy right now? Of course you are right, we are considering scarce resources here and the fact is that inflation rate is on the high side, but my context and approach is a combination of textbooks and critical thinking based on market realities and essential needs. Also leveraging on knowledge and digitisation systems already in place. My approach on the topic and decision making are highly contextual beginning with etymological approach of the purview and derivation of witty narratives from it. For instance during one of my studies years ago after I quizzed one of my tenants who lost his money to a particular Ponzi scheme, I dug deeper and realised that intentionally the concept of what investment is has been whitewashed to be detrimental with focus on external and not internal without putting in place systems. I came up with the concept of investment being internal and external, internal having 3 phases and external being a function of the 3, based on that I realised Ceteris Peribus one will have a successful journey if internal systems are well built. Meanwhile for the public, I do advice keep 60 to 70% of your funds in low risk investments like bonds and treasury bills, and work on building on the 3 phases with the remaining 30 to 40% to achieve 100 to 1000% based on knowledge, capacity, network and leverage. So you see if a person is diligent to work on understanding the mathematical and economic game and creating ones system based on the three one is safe and have the higher chance of getting maximum values. |

Oracleee: Suggesting putting ₦20m into Treasury Bills might sound smart to the ear, but that advice really depends on the person’s goal. Treasury Bills are safe, no doubt. But they are low-risk, low-return instruments. With ₦30m, locking away ₦20m there might preserve capital, but it won’t significantly grow wealth especially in an economy where inflation is constantly eating into value. So the real question is what is he trying to achieve?
If the goal is capital preservation, then yes, Treasury Bills make sense. But if the goal is growth, relocation, or improving life quality, then tying down two-thirds of your capital in a low-yield instrument may not be the best move. At current realities, the returns from Treasury Bills may not even outpace inflation consistently, meaning you’re “safe” but still losing purchasing power in real terms. With ₦30m, this is a life-changing decision. It shouldn’t just be about playing safe it should be about positioning for better income, stability, and long-term opportunity.
I feel treasury bill should be ruled out. Of course, you are right, if I were the one I will go all in with like 25 m,there are other options outside of Treasury bill that I am well acquainted with, did one last last year for a 365 days round. The goal is actually compounding and not just one time gain, the approach is considering safest zone with 20m and running fast on 10 for scaling, the real lesson is leverage and staying safe and growing slowly until you have deep knowledge of achieving quantum leap |
Business › Re: The Call to Rich Nigerians To Build Their Own Refineries And Create Competitions by ayoncox: 4:46am On May 06 |
Ibrahim1985: Monopoly is not good if the oil price is decided for Alhaji Dangote and a very few powerful men. The oil cabals are fighting to make sure oil prices remain above 2300 naira per liter, they do not care if Nigerians pay 2000 naira for a liter at the fueling station. These oil cabals including the former NNPC president singlehanded make sure Nigeria imported oil instead of allow the citizens to build refinery to run. They allowed the old refineries to spoil beyond repair so that Nigeria can import oil. While the masses are paying for huge money, these cabal are cashing from importation of oil. Now that Dangote has opened a refinery, other Big men can now open their own private refinery. Oil is still big money , every big man / madam in Nigeria has his or her hand in oil. This is why they do not want petrol price to get low. The lower the price, they lose money. So remember that as you pay petrol at the fueling station or on the black market price, remember the higher you pay, the more these big men eaT. Is not easy as you think, many Nigerians don't think long term. Although let's say apart from Dangote there are other smaller refineries but they can't do large volumes. What you are asking them to do is quite tough, for instance to build a refinery of 100,000 barrels per day and above it takes roughly 10 years to complete, no short cuts. For 10,000 to 30,000 per day it takes between 2 to 4 years. How many of them have the resilience to wait that long. I know that BUA is working on one around 250k and they have been on it for some years now, let's say some others. It's tough to think long term in some businesses in Nigeria, that is why many settle for trading. That is why I often laugh when a particular set of people beat their chest saying they are the financial powers of Nigeria meanwhile they are mostly traders and are not into heavy manufacturing. Look at Dangote Cement for instance, they spend at least 50m per day on Diesel for production, if one is not tough skinned you can't run such a business so you settle to be an employee or a trader. |

Pgateway: Please is this normal?
I’ve been “prophesied” to by more than four different people—unrelated and unknown to each other—that I should never tell a woman I intend to marry her.
At first, I thought it simply meant I shouldn’t make promises I can’t keep, but my experience seems to suggest something else.
What keeps happening is this: I can have casual flings or light flirtations. I’ve even had situations where married women get too close, and if I were to push things, I could easily cross boundaries—but I don’t. I also attract women who just want something casual, while women I’m not particularly interested in seem open to something serious.
However, the pattern changes completely when I meet someone I genuinely like. The moment I express serious intentions or mention marriage, the relationship tends to fall apart. One way or another, she pulls away.
This has been my recurring experience, and I’m now over 40 and deeply unsettled by it.
I can’t help but ask: what could be going on? Your problem is more of psychological than spiritual but your mind is empowering the issue throug shared belief |

Christianity Etc › Re: The Anointing That Comes Through Fasting by ayoncox: 10:50am On May 03 |
ocnovakmichael: In 1952 Kenneth Hagin relates how Jesus appeared to him in a vision while he was in Rockwall Texas and laid His finger in the palm of each of his hands and declared, "I have called thee and have anointed thee. I have given thee a special anointing to minister to the sick." He went a step further in saying, the Lord Jesus instructed him to tell the people exactly what he was told, stating that if they believed and received it, the power would flow from his hands and effect a healing in their body.
But the point I want to get out there is that, Kenneth Hagin stated that the Lord Jesus told him to fast any time the anointing faded to restore its strength and power.
When I read Hagin's testimony many years ago, I began to ask myself the question: is there an anointing that accompanies fasting? And for many years I peruse through scriptures until today while I was studying the Bible, the Spirit opened my understanding to this truth. And that Is what I want to share with you.
First we need to know that the word "the anointing" is synonymous with the word the Holy Ghost, Spirit, and Power. Many times in scriptures the word the Spirit, power, or the Holy Ghost is use to describe the anointing. For instance, in the book of Zechariah the fourth chapter and the sixth and seventh verses, the Bible say, "... This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the LORD of hosts. Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain..."
Now what am I getting to? Let's see how the anointing comes through fasting.
Isaiah 58:6 [6]Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
That text has two fold applications. On the one hand, God is speaking through the prophet Isaiah correcting the children of Israel on the way and manner they should fast. On the other hand, that is prophesying about the Lord Jesus Christ on the fast the Father has chosen for him in order to to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke: because in the book of Hebrews scripture says, "... Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me... Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God."
You see, after that the Lord Jesus had been baptized and the Spirit came and abode on him like a dove, he did not do any mighty work until the Spirit led him into the wilderness to fast for forty days and forty nights. And after he had fasted, the Bible say, "And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit." It was after the fast that the anointing became manifest that Jesus declared in the gospel of Luke:
Luke 4:18 [18]The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
In the book of Isaiah the Lord chose a fast: Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? But he could not loose the bands of wickedness until he fasted and the anointing became manifest; he couldn't undo the heavy burdens until he fasted; he couldn't let the oppressed go free until he fasted. It is the anointing that breaks or destroys the yoke!
Isaiah 10:27 [27]And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.
Acts 10:38 [38]How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
The manifestation of the Spirit or the anointing is usually preceded by a fast. In the book of Acts the thirteenth chapter, the Spirit spoke after Paul and company had fasted.
Acts 13:1-2 [1]Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. [2]As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
Like I had earlier stated, the word Spirit, Holy Ghost, and power are synonymous with the word the "anointing." Now notice in that text that the Holy Ghost or the anointing didn't speak or manifest until those prophets and teachers fasted. Also, notice it was after Jesus fasted for forty days and forty nights scripture says "And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit." This was exactly what the Lord Jesus, in a vision, said to Kenneth Hagin, 'that he should fast any time the anointing faded to restore its strength and power."
Friend, the anointing comes through fasting!
Notwithstanding, this is one way the anointing is made manifest, not the only way!
Do not hoard knowledge, propagate it!
Jesus is Lord! The anointing is constant but the body carrying it isn't the essence of fasting is not to enhance the anointing but the material carrying it. Let's assume anointing is like water or any other fluid or liquid that is precious like petrol for instance , in some scenarios they flow through pipes as channels of distribution. The anointing is like the petrol it doesn't diminish but the pipe can have blockages preventing the flow, then fasting is the means of removing the blockages same way fasting helps in removing toxins from our bodies. |
