BusinessRe: My Tech Business Idea for 2026: Would this work? Would You Patronize it? by ayoncox: 4:05am On Apr 04
Host78:
So i am at the beginning of starting this new projects and i am skeptical whether it'll work or if people will be willing to use my product.

It is actually a simple idea.

Nigeria is a large crypto country. My idea is to build a crypto exchanging platform. where you can convert crypto to naira and naira to crypto.

Some people are already running this space. people like monica, patricia and yellowcards to name a few of the big names.

But mine comes with a little twist. Crypto is an anonymous currency and my aim is to keep it that way.

Users can easily change their crypto to naira without needing to create an account on the platform. they can also buy crypto without creating an account.

I'll be like physical trade but this time it'll be completely online but all done without creating an account.

also you can choose to create an account and trade as usual but it wont be necessary.

Each new transaction will recieve a unique tracking code with a unique link so you can monitor your transaction progress and also serves as a reciept that you have completed the transaction from your own end.

what do you guys think about this?
Bro I don't see it working because of the CBN bottle neck, the best you can do is p2p

Titopeblog:
Former Lagos State Governor, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) (CON) has secured the approval of his appointment as a Bencher of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by the Body of Benchers, the distinguished body of Legal Practitioners, effective from Tuesday, 31st March 2026.

Hearty congratulations!

https://www.titopeblog.com/2026/04/from-governor-to-legal-elite-babatunde.html?m=1
For those who don't know who benchers are:

Benchers in Nigeria are members of the Body of Benchers, a statutory body of distinguished legal practitioners established under the Legal Practitioners Act [4.3]. As the highest regulatory body for legal practitioners, they oversee the admission (call to the Bar) of new lawyers, uphold legal professional standards, and discipline erring practitioners

Composition and Roles

The Body of Benchers is comprised of high-ranking judicial officers (including the CJN, Supreme Court Justices, and State Chief Judges), Attorneys-General from the federal and state levels, and key representatives from the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA). Additionally, it includes the Chairman of the Council of Legal Education and up to 10 experienced legal practitioners.

Key responsibilities include overseeing the call to the Bar for new lawyers and enforcing discipline through the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee (LPDC).

Members with distinguished service may be appointed as Life Benchers.

You lie! Life doesn't work like that! Do you know how many people cursed Buhari, and how many people are cursing Tinubu today?? Elrufai has the prospect of becoming president in future! They're the elites and politicians! They know their way to power! Or can you explain how Obasanjo went from death row in prison under the clutches of Abacha to Aso Rock? That's why I laugh when some poor man's children on this forum use their life to swear that Obi can never be president! You'll wake up one morning to see Tinubu campaignimg for Obi to be president! There's no limit to what these politicians can do!
You are not being sincere with your stance here, El Rufai is cursed to make dangerous errors which he seem not to be aware of

oga intectual property belongs to the one who conceived and brought an idea to live, go and educate yourself and stop peddling misinformation disguised in many words.
While you are right about your stance , intellectual property isn't limited to the person who wrote, copyright something or trademarked it. The performers too have their portions in it so they can have royalties, profit sharing from it based on agreement. Take for instance, The popular James Bond and the various actors. The challenge the man has is that Civil Service has bastardised his mind that he could only see peanuts from the deal, he is supposed to request for an agreement for royalties or profit sharing being the main actor but usually what you are ignorant of is bigger than you. So pathetic, the lesson we should learn is before agreeing to terms, have knowledge or get someone to help you with clarity so you can have better negotiations

meobizy:
At first, seeing Kobojunkie’s lack of activity for two days made me feel he was on a hunger strike. He is the type who would create comments on Nairaland even on a deathbed. People who have used this forum since he opened an account know very well he doesn’t take breaks of any sort. When I realized that he logged in occasionally yesterday and even till a few hours ago without commenting, I knew Seun performed the inevitable.

As much as I despise the poster for spending every minute of his life in this forum, I know very well he isn’t abusive, rude or abrasive. He drops comments contrary to commonsense in a bid to while time. In real life, he faces anxiety issues. Surviving in the real world is challenging. That is why he prefers an online existence where he can live as a confident debater — which runs contrary to his timid real life, skittish personality.

Seun, the man did not abuse you. All he wanted to know was why his account was banned in the Islamic section. There are established trolls I see in threads there every Friday causing a ruckus. Nothing happens to them. Kobojunkie is sharing knowledge (stirring unnecessary debates in my eyes), but he does not insult Islamic beliefs. The least you or the moderator can do is give an explanation which he would understand and continue with life. Till I type, it hasn’t happened.

Unlike him, I can abandon this forum anytime. I have done it before. I can do it again. A decade-long ban will only free me from visiting here routinely. Of recent, you have shown the fear of losing high comment posters. Still, you choose to disrespect us and our opinions any chance you get.

Kobojunkie should be unbanned. He did nothing wrong. He deserves an apology and an explanation.

Since Nairaland became Seun’s Nairaland which he alone enforces with his spambot, the forum has left a bad taste in my mouth. Every pointless ban I receive from typing my opinion expedites my decision to pack up and leave. It will happen soon.
Kobojunkie seems to be a lady
PoliticsRe: Why The Iran-usa War Is A Wakeup Call: It’s Time To Back Our 4+ Modular Refinery by ayoncox: 10:17pm On Mar 23
nigerianbills:
With the 2026 Iran-USA conflict pushing crude towards $120, Nigeria is at a crossroads. We can't keep putting all our eggs in one basket (Dangote) or waiting for NNPCL refineries that have been "starting next month" since 2010.

If we want fuel prices to actually drop, we need to talk about the Modular Army. These are the indigenous companies already refining on a smaller scale. If the FG gives them enough crude in Naira, they can flood the local market and crash prices.

The "Big 5" Modular Players You Need to Know:

REFINERY OWNER STATUS
ARADEL REFINERY Gbite Falade (CEO Active. Leading the pack in diesel and kerosene.
Waltersmith Abdulrazaq Isa Active. Operating at 5,000 bpd; plans for 10k bpd.
Edo Refinery Michael Osime Active. Running at 90% capacity—pure efficiency.
OPAC Refinery Momoh Oyarekhua Active. Operating at 10,000 bpd; plans for 60k bpd.

Why These "Small" Guys are the Real Solution:
No "Single Point of Failure": If Dangote goes on maintenance or has a glitch, the whole country enters a fuel crisis. With 10–20 modular refineries, the risk is spread out.

Local Logistics = Lower Costs: It's cheaper to move fuel from Edo to Kogi or from Imo to Abia than it is to ship it from Lagos or import from Europe. This "short-distance" supply is what actually reduces the pump price.

The War Factor: The US-Iran war is making shipping and insurance costs skyrocket. Modular refineries don't need ships—they just need pipes.

The Real Question for the FG:
Why are we still struggling for fuel when these guys are ready to work?
Give them crude in Naira.
Fund their "Reformers" so they can produce more Petrol (PMS), not just Diesel.
Stop the "Dangote-only" focus. Competition is the only thing that will ever lower price

Nairaland, let’s be honest:
Do you believe these modular refineries can actually compete with the "Big Fish," or is the system designed to make them fail? Why is the government still playing politics with crude supply to these local heroes?
The main issue is not the modular refineries, it's that we have used our crude oil to borrow money which is to be paid for the next about 30+ years, thanks to Buhari

Exactly, industry standard. WAP is an industry, you don't tell them how to run their industry, if you feel cheated you can try a re-bargain or you f**k off their industry.
I see the man as the cause of his blah blah blah.....he isn't smart, he thinks a consistent hardwork still pays in modern age. He should had learnt to be a diversified portfolio, WAP didn't stop him from entertainment aside WAP.....but the deal is don't use our initial ‘Papa Ajasco’. What is there? See Akpan and Oduma and others are making cool money aside WAP using different names. Why's this old man crying for not being smart?? He should rest jare.
.

WAP is not an industry, instead it is a firm in the Entertainment industry and every industry has labour standards. The fact is that what is happening across board is what you call Extreme Capitalism, milk the cow extremely and give him very little food just to stay alive for more milking. There is no industry that doesn't exist, remember the case of Dangote and his Staff last year. At the end of last year his competitor Rabiu Abdul Samad invited him to their staff appreciation event where they doll out 30 Billion Naira to their staff. There is nothing like being entitled if you have given your best to a work.

5but papa ajasco was the intellectual property of wale adenuga not the actors own
intellectual property goes beyond the script, the performer is very strategic too. Most times the issue is ignorance, poverty and the need to survive that make many settle for less. Most Nigerian Entrepreneurs and Capitalist are weak in terms of being social so instead of paying the person raking in the money what they decide the look it at from a salary approach. It's quite appalling

I have a job. Earning a decent salary and my own place.

Yet all the women I keep talking to don't seem to want something to do with me.

I'm not being pathetic. That's how it is actually. There's always some other guy that outspends and competes for their attention.

The other ones I see are soo downright immature. Just babies masquerading as women, girls that have never faced adversity, girls that have no sense of responsibility. Attention-sucking leeches. Girls that can't even make up their own minds. Girls that keep running to their mothers for any single thing.

Other ones fancy themselves as hustlers and are always so difficult. Those ones are always competing with you for dominance. Soo crazy man.

And there are the brokies. Liabilities. No job. Nothing.

Omo I'm always so alone staying in my room, particularly at night. I feel soo alone.

I don't want a woman because of sex. Sex is sooo trivial. I honestly don't even care. Next time I have sex, it'd be to make a child.

I just don't know how single men honestly cope. It's so crazy out here

Papa Ajasco is a talented actor but a bad money manager.
WAP paid him well, during PMB regime he got lots of gig and to cap it all, he worked for 30 years with the Lagos State government.. So what have happened to his finances.
The average Nigerian never get such opportunities and still excel.
If he's broke due to his financial recklesness, he should come out plain instead of trying to blackmail WAP.
What if he wasn't a reckless slender, but was spending the money on keeping his family together, to give his children the best of education. Meanwhile its good you know that Lagos State Government can only give him max of 8 to 10 my as Gratuity, for some that did 25 years it's around 3 to 4 m. Some of them their salaries per month is not up to 300k, imagine that he had like 3 kids that went to private universities paying minimum of 1m per session. This thing is deeper than we can actually imagine

effixxyguy1:
Hello guys,

I’ve worked in several organizations over the years, and due to personal reasons, I’ve made up my mind not to work under anyone again.

Right now, I’m planning to start a small business here in Ondo. I currently have about ₦400,000 as startup capital, and shop rent here goes for around ₦120k or even less, so I believe I can manage something reasonable.

At this stage of my life (in my 30s), I’m not looking for trial-and-error business or anything risky. I want something stable, profitable, and with low regret in the long run.

Please, I need honest advice from experienced people here:

👉 What kind of business can I start with this amount that can grow steadily?
👉 What should I avoid so I don’t lose my capital?
👉 Any real-life experience or guidance will be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance 🙏
Rule number one don't start with having a shop until you achieve your first 1 to 5 million Naira. Look for businesses that do not need spending to make money, start by being a middle man for instance in real estate, focus on landing big opportunities. Register a company, open bank account and get family and friends to own 10 to 20% to raise between 500k to 1 million naira. Then look into buying cheap products and selling it at x3 x4. Use your home as office until you grow big enough
