Osun State governor, Rauf Aregbesola, yesterday said he was seized by fear ahead of the August 9, 2014, gubernatorial poll in the state. Aregbesola, who spoke at an interdenominational service to mark the beginning of 2015 at Bola Ige House, State Secretariat, Abeere, added that his wife, Sherifat, had even started packing their belongings in the Government House few days before the poll. He, however, said the prayers offered during January 2014 interdenominational service by religious leaders aided his victory at the poll. He averred that some of the security operatives who came for the last governorship poll were fake, adding that few of them wore strange uniforms that gave them out as fake personnel. “My victory was ordained by God and nobody can do anything to thwart it. The opposition were just exploring propaganda and lies to hold their members ahead of February 2015 general elections,” Aregbesola said. He said Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has failed Nigerians since its attained power in 1999 and charged the electorate to utilise their Permanent Voter Card, PVC as a tool to effect change during the coming elections. He added: “Why do we want Gen. Muhammadu Buhari? All primary schools pupils throughout Nigeria would be fed freely if APC wins presidential poll. “With this development, N3.6 billion we expend annually on school feeding programme in Osun would be spent on other meaningful projects. Beside, 20,000 people would be employed in each state while the money expended on federal roads by states, including Osun would be paid back.” He attributed the current financial challenge confronting the nation to incessant theft of 400,000 barrels of Nigeria’s crude oil daily and sharp fall in the price of oil in the international market. He also lamented that the November allocation released to the state by the federal government in December 2014 was N1.1 billion, far below the N3.6 billion wage bill of its workers. http://nationalmirroronline.net/new/osun-guber-election-terrified-me-aregbesola/ |

Caseless:GEJ AND CLUELESSNESS TWO SIDE OF THESAME COIN. |
Published: October 13, 2011 The federal Government is said to be negotiating an investment of N428.8 billion ($2.68bn) in three refineries deal in Indonesia, South East Asia. The deal if sealed will see the federal government part-owning three refineries in the Far East. The Indonesia Post quoted a top government official as giving the hint of the planned investment by the federal government. This development is coming at a time when government is planning to remove subsidy from petrol and, more so, at a time it is talking about economic transformation and diversification. According to the report, the Indonesia Industry ministry’s director general for manufacturing, Pangah Susanto was quoted by Kompas.com, an online publication in Indonesia as saying that both countries have agreed to build the refineries in Indonesia. Details of the agreement were not released. Nigeria which at the moment produces 2.6 million barrels of crude per day was said to be looking for a partner to refine its crude oil Panggah was quoted as saying. He said that previously, Nigeria wanted the refineries to be built in Nigeria. However, as Indonesia is currently improving its down stream industry, it wanted the refineries built in Indonesia instead of Nigeria. The three refineries are being projected to produce 300 barrel per day and will be used to process crude oil from Nigeria. Indonesia oil firm PT Pertamina will buy the crude oil from Nigeria and process it in Indonesia. Nigeria currently imports most of its petrol as all the local refineries are working far below capacity. Nigeria has an installed crude refining capacity of 445,000 barrels per day but the refining output is insignificant when compared to the national 32 million litres per day consumption. According to the pricing template of the Petroleum Product Pricing Regulatory Agency as at August 15, 2011, the landing cost of a litre of petrol is N129.21; the margin for transporters and marketers is N15.49; the expected pump price is N144.70; while the official pump price is N65. This means that the FG pays N79.70 as subsidy on each litre of petrol consumed in the country. With about 32 million litres of petrol consumed daily across the country, it also means the government is paying about N2.6bn as subsidy every day, which translates into N18.2bn per week and N72.8bn per month. Importation of petroleum products has been the source of subsidy that has generated controversy over its plan removal by the federal government. Nigerian exports its crude oil and imports finished products. Its crude oil differentials were steady on Tuesday as prices found a temporary floor due to supply glitches in key grades in a market characterised by fading demand. Shell, one of the majors said its force majeure on Nigerian Forcados crude oil exports would be lifted by late October or November if all repair works went to plan. Traders said they expected the force majeure on Forcados to affect no more than 1-2 cargoes, or around 30,000-60,000 bpd. Shell has lifted the force majeure on its Bonny stream, declared on August 23. “On the back of waning demand from the U.S., which saw total crude imports drop by almost 300,000 b/d month-on-month in September, less supply of Forcados may provide a floor, even though a steep drop in Bonny Light shippings was unable to prevent differentials from sliding,” said JBC Energy’s David Wech. Traders said that around 15 tankers for November loading were still reported to be available. They are not really moving. Differentials are suffering a lot because of the weak margins and increasing freight. Also, buyers like Conoco are taking less,” said a West African oil trader. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/10/nigeria-to-invest-n428-8bn-2-68bn-in-3-refineries-in-indonesia/ |

JONATHANISM is a life threatening infection caused by a notorious, multi-drug resistant organism called GEJ. It manifested as endemic disease in Nigeria. It's main symptoms include; poverty, in-discipline, bribery, corruption, theft, insecurity, unemployment, poor education, bad roads, poor health care & no electricity supply among others. The current drugs found to be effective against the organism include; Atikucyline, Buharimycin, Kwankwasilline, Amechicillin and Tinibustan all available in APC Pharmacy nationwide. The Doctors in charge of spreading the disease were staff of APC hospital who left for PDP Referral Medical Center: 1. Consultant Ali modu sheriff 2. Surgeon General Shekarau 3. Dr. N. Ribadu Some experts believed that high dose of Protesting can also eradicate it but with potential side effects. The most recent research has confirmed that judicious use of PVC ( your permanent voters card) at the right dosage (2015 election) will surely eradicate all the diseases as well as their side effects. In a few minutes, I will start tweeting about the Petroleum Special Trust Fund (PTF) headed @ThisIsBuhari btw May '95 and May '99. 2. There have been allegations that the PTF projects were lopsided in favour of the north, aimed at portraying @ThisIsBuhari as sectional. 3. There have also been allegations of fraud in PTF, meant to show that @ThisIsBuhari not as clean as portrayed. 4. I will provide some background on PTF and present some facts based on public documents and leave you to draw your conclusions. 5. PTF was set up by Gen Abacha in May '95, headed by @ThisIsBuhari, with Chief Tayo Akpata as Secretary. Other members representing different zones were Y. Gusau, A Talib, Rufus Giwa, Prof. Chimere Ikoku, Prof. JP Clark, D.B Zang. 7. PTF was charged with using portion of increase in fuel price to rehabilitate roads, schools, hospitals, water schemes n provide supplies 8. Despite charges of being a parallel govt, at no point was PTF budget more than 10% of total budget of the federation. 9. Widely circulated allegation of lopsided siting of PTF projects by Afenifere a bit exaggerated. 10. It is true that out of the 13,090km roads rehabilitated, 32% in the south and 68% in the north. But that's half the story. 11. In terms of km, 7.3% of d rehabilitated roads were in SE; 8.5% in SW;16.25 in SS; 21.1% in NW; 23.4% in NE; and 23.5% in NC. 12. But it is also true that the landmass varies among zones and same with degree of difficulty and cost. 13. A look at the cost of roads in different zones and the overall allocation to zones in all PTF projects show a different picture. N77. 2b was committed to roads out of the total of N187b allocated to PTF till May 99. 15. Of the N77.2b to roads, SW got N 9.7 b; SE, N14.5b; SS, N 30. 5b. This means SW got 12.6% of road budget; SE, 18.8%; SS, 39.5%. 16. Of d N77.2b committed to roads, NE got N7.1b; NC, N7. 4b; NW, N7.9b, meaning NE got 9.2%, NC got 9.6% and NW 10.3%. 17. This shows that in terms of cost, the variation btw north and south reversed in favour of d south. 18. Under roads, the south got 70% in terms of amount allocated and the north got 30%. 19. It may sound counter intuitive, but it is also an established fact that road construction costs more in the south than in the north. 20. Those circulating facts about kilometers of roads possibly also have information about cost of the roads and total allocation. 21. Possibly, they selectively chose the data set that will help their argument that @ThisIsBuhari is sectional. 22. Also, of the total N187b allocated to PTF, the south got more than the north. 23. In the 6 areas under PTF, SE got N26.9b; SW, N28.8b; SS, N49b. Representing 15% for SE, 15.4% for SW, and 26.2% for SS. 24. That is a total of 56.7% for the south out of the entire budget of PTF. 25. Of d total PTF allocation, NC got N20bn; NE, N26b; and NW N34. 9b. Meaning 10.7% for NC; 13.9% for NE; and 18.7% for NW. 26. That's 43.3% for the North out of the total N187b allocation to PTF. 27. On allegations of fraud in PTF under @ThisIsBuhari, it is important to bear a few things in mind. 28. OBJ set up two interim mgt committees on PTF, before eventually asking PTF to be wounded up. 29. First committee was under Dr. Haroun Adamu. 2nd under Alh. Garba Mubi. Dr Adamu Maina - Waziri was asked to wind up PTF. 30. For two years, police and SSS interogated officials of Afri-Project Consortium, project consultant to PTF. 31. Up till today, no one charged or prosecuted. In fact two of d founders of Afri-Project Consortium later served in OBJ's govt. 32. Murtala Aliyu was minister of state for works, and Amina Mohammed served as SSA on the MDGs and is now an adviser to the UN Sec-Gen. 33. However, anytime @ThisIsBuhari is planning to contest some people dredge up allegations of sectionalism and fraud in PTF. 34. Sometimes it is claimed that no one prosecuted so as not to embarrass @ThisIsBuhari. But what does that say about those making d claims? 35/35. This is it for now on PTF and @ThisIsBuhari. Good evening.) http://saharareporters.com/2014/12/26/anytime-buhari-contests-they-dredge-false-accusations-sectionalism-ptf”-–-columnist |
I am a bloody civilian. But I know what mutiny is not . Mutiny is not the caricature the Nigerian Army is passing it off to be . Mutiny is not hesitating to charge into battle empty handed . Mutiny is not bringing your superiors into cognizance that you need proper weapons to have a fair chance of putting the enemy to rout. Mutiny is not pleading to be equipped before being deployed to the front line . The Nigerian Army has bastardized the spirit of the word . And the new definition is made to serve our unique malady – like a Peugeot 504 built for Nigerian roads. Mutiny is now the manifestation of reluctance to dash off in the right direction , like some suicidal robot , when you are gifted an opportunity to self-destruct . Last week the Nigerian court martial found a new batch of soldiers guilty of mutiny . The Nigerian Army had to find them guilty of mutiny . The court martial set out to discover mutiny and they wound up landing a treasure trove. They found 54 cases . Their find confirms the validity of the scriptural guarantee : Seek, and you shall find . The mutiny sentence represents an abuse of the power of life and death . This is the revenge of army chiefs for the embarrassment of being asked to produce what they didn ’t have. I learnt on a couple of Christmas shopping that asking anyone for a thing he cannot provide had consequences . The child in me wanted to rid the whole market of all colorful items I liked and pointed at . Needless to say , such requests fluster the nicest parents and can force a feeling of inadequacy . But the soldiers did not make a frivolous demand. They didn ’t ask for toys or cigarettes . They asked for working tools. They asked for instruments that they could not function without . And that ’s not indiscipline . Isaac asked Abraham , his father , midway into their mountain climb , where the lamb they were going to use for sacrifice was . The lamb was what would give meaning to their exertions. Abraham didn ’t produce any sensible answer. Instead , he tried to make a sacrificial lamb out of the boy. Today , the Nigerian Army is playing Abraham on 54 Isaacs. The soldiers are no cowards like the accusers say . They didn ’t shrink from the call of duty . They had signed up to defend their fatherland voluntarily . And they knew before time that they would be required to plunge into life- costing scenarios. But they did not sign up for martyrdom. They didn ’t pledge to submit themselves to be killed for their belief in the territorial integrity of Nigeria. This mutiny bazaar is a shame . It reflects the slump from the sublime to the ridiculous of an army that used to be the toast of the peacekeeping world . In those days , our troops acquitted themselves creditably in trouble spots of the West African sub - region and beyond . Our soldiers did not mutiny . The ECOWAS and UN missions tended them. Now they are learning mutiny on home soil . The other day in Maiduguri barracks , wives of soldiers formed themselves into a roadblock . They stopped trucks that was packed full of troops from reporting to the war scene . Their husbands had not been furnished with deployment materials. They had nothing to fight with. The soldiers were being shipped off to go and die. In September, the Army sentenced a dozen soldiers to death on the same charge . The newsbreak generated outrage. The Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, was flabbergasted. Nigerians did not give him compliments . These civilians are not grateful for the extraordinary favour of being informed about the sentencing. Why are they raising hell and making noise about the military trivializing human lives? Did we want him to regret not using the other option ? Did we know he could have had those soldiers tried and dispatched in the evil forest and we would have been blissfully unaware ? The Nigerian Army has made an exhibition of the sentencing. This is to pass the message that some truths consume the men who tell them. Weapon or no weapon, you must run towards the adversary , like a Usain Bolt eager to breast the tape . Our arms deficiency is proverbial . Everybody knows we are trying to snatch victory from the jaws of a near empty armoury. The damage we manage to inflict on the Boko Haram camp once or twice a week often results from very desperate situations . Our deprived soldiers produce those flashes of brilliance when they are cornered and have no choice other than to fight for self -preservation. The US no longer sells us arms . And we can’t fetch arms from South Africa without making ourselves the butt of a joke . But our soldiers cannot complain . The fact that Nigeria is missing arms in this war is accentuated by the rising profile of poisoned arrows and cutlasses in dispatches from the combat zone . The locals are throwing their crude weapons in the fray because the dearth of arms on the Nigerian side leaves their villages vulnerable to attack. They are defending their own homesteads. Governor Kahim Shettima of Borno State once called for the boosting of our military capabilities. He said that he had observed that Boko Haram insurgents were gaining momentum because they were more motivated and better armed than our troops . The Federal Government dismissed his concerns . He was of the opposition . He did not contribute any beneficial insight . He was just slandering the Presidency . President Goodluck Jonathan tried to make Shettima apologize . Jonathan threatened to prove that the governor was wrong by ordering the withdrawal the soldiers that guard Borno Government House . The governor would know that the Nigerian Army was still of use if he found himself stripped of all protection . The President made his point. There is an inviolable ban on expression of certain kinds of opinion. Don’ t say the troops are in need of anything . Don’ t say it even if it is obvious. Interestingly , only small soldiers stand trial for mutiny . Only little men deserve to die. The big chiefs who squirrel monies away from Nigeria’ s multi-billion naira defence budget deserve to live forever . It would be too awkward to knock them off their pedestal and try them for sabotage. Everywhere the mode of defence spending is a delicate matter. It is a top state secret. The problem is that secrecy is more likely to breed criminality . And our experience is that security vote and other defence related allocations are stolen and spent like pocket money . It ’s the money our defence chiefs and politicians binge on. The Nigerian Army can find among its top brass a dozen Judas Iscariots who kiss well in the public and steal from the purse in secret. They can make mutineers out of those who have been minting money out of the blood of our soldiers . They can make mutineers out of the generals whose greed perpetuates the conditions that make the eagerness to deploy tantamount to suicide attempt. The healing of the bitter waters must start at the spring . The Nigerian Army cannot shy away from addressing the fundamental issues of lack of battle equipment and appalling troop welfare. These issues will not vanish into the thin air . And the Nigerian Army cannot solve them by criminalizing legitimate complaints and creating a batch of scapegoats every three months. If it persists in “ sharing ” mutiny to just about anybody, we will arrive at a point when youths be unwilling to enlist in the Nigerian Army. http://thenationonlineng.net/new/reflections-army-mutiny/ |

The UK Home Office has banned flamboyant Nigerian pastor, Bishop David Oyedepo, from entering Britain, a British government source told SaharaReporters. Mr. Oyedepo is known as the general overseer of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, otherwise known as Winners Chapel. Headquartered in Ota, Ogun State, the church has branches in numerous parts of the world, including the UK and US. According to the source, the ban arose from preliminary investigations by Britain’s Charity Commission that determined that monies donated to Bishop Oyedepo’s church for charitable purposes were funneled to Nigeria to fund the preacher’s flamboyant lifestyle. Bishop Oyedepo owns a plush private jet and has a fleet of expensive cars, among many other astonishing personal assets. Bishop Oyedepo was barred from entering the United Kingdom in July. However, when SaharaReporters contacted Nicola Kelly, a press officer at the immigration desk at the UK Home Office, she declined to comment on the case. The same day, our reporter spoke to one Emmanuel Igban, a media aide to Bishop Oyedepo, but he denied that the high-flying preacher had been banned. But our British source asserted that Bishop Oyedepo and one of his sons had been aware of the probe of church finances for at least three years now. He added that the probe was triggered after the British Charity Commission found out that the wealthy pastor had taken out more than £16 million from the UK since 2009. He added that the commission closely monitors any repatriation of church resources, disclosing that any repatriation of funds of that size was most likely illegal. According to the source, Bishop Oyedepo claimed that he was running a not-for-profit religious organization, “but the commission determined that he was diverting funds to engage in a series of profitable ventures.” Bishop Oyedepo, who recently turned 60, is believed to be Nigeria’s richest pastor and is widely regarded as one of the richest televangelists in the world. The UK government has distributed notices warning airlines that operate flights to the UK not carry the bishop. Mr. Oyedepo’s private jet is also barred from entering the UK airspace with him on board. A few years ago, Bishop Oyedepo provoked international outrage when videotapes of one of his church events showed him slapping a teenage girl he accused of being a witch. In the face of mounting criticism, including calls for his arrest for assaulting a minor, Mr. Oyedepo boasted that he would slap the “witch” again. http://saharareporters.com/2014/10/16/bishop-oyedepo-banned-entering-uk-over-church-corruption |
Investigation revealed that President Goodluck Jonathan's secret visit to Germany sometimes in August was meant to receive doses of Ebola vaccine made by the Germans for personal use. It can be recalled that in August this year, within a few days of the first Ebola case in Nigeria, Patrick Sawyer from Liberia, Nigeria’s President made a sudden unscheduled and unannounced trip to Frankfurt, shrouded in secrecy. Our sources have veritably confirmed that the trip this August was to protect himself and his family from Ebola with Germany’s top medical product. It can also be recalled that Nigeria’s Information minister had accidentally revealed in April this year, that Nigeria had procured the Ebola vaccine. Our sources indicated that this was a blunder by the Minister who was not supposed to reveal to the general public this secretive information as the German vaccine was only meant for top officials of the Jonathan government and not the Nigerian general public. The revelation of the Nigerian government’s access to this German vaccine, made by Labran Maku has been blamed for Nigeria’s first cases and deaths to Ebola as late Sawyer’s wife claimed that Sawyer traveled to Nigeria with the assurance that he could benefit from it as trumped by the Information minister. Our sources say that the President is now immune to Ebola, but that nothing is being done by the government to help procure modern vaccines and remedies for the general public. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=514439128701190&substory_index=0&id=185489024929537&refid=7&_ft_=qid.6067883762397469632%3Amf_story_key.-1963652746065613879&__tn__=%2As |
Much ado has been made about recent events in South Africa concerning the Nigerian-owned jet that was found loaded with millions of dollars and that was in the process of procuring arms and a fighter helicopter for the Nigerian military and security agencies. As a former Minister of Aviation I wish to assure the general public that the flying of large sums of cash by security and intelligence agencies for the purchase of arms in a time of war and conflict is something that is quite normal and that it happens quite often. As a matter of fact it has happened under successive Nigerian governments, both military and civilian. Obviously in the case of the jet that flew to South Africa with 9.3 million USD there must have been a breakdown of communication between the South African authorities and ours and a few lapses in procedure here and there which is what has led to the seizure of the money and all the ensuing suspicion and confusion. However the idea that there was anything untoward or sinister about the whole transaction has no basis in logic, sense or rationality. Perhaps the only failing was the fact that the cash was not declared to South African Customs as is required by law. The fact that our intelligence agencies have said that they were the ones that sent the money and that they have told us what it was for is good enough for me. It appears to me that this was a lawful and legitimate exercise and that there is nothing for anyone to worry about. I am aware of the fact that the British, the French, the American, the Chinese, the Israeli, the Saudi Arabian and the Russian intelligence and security agencies, amongst many others, have indulged in such covert ''cash for arms'' transactions on numerous occasions in different parts of the world. They either sell such arms at short notice and off the cuff or they procure them for themselves or for unknown third parties. Even the South Africans themselves have done so on numerous occasions in the past. These are legitimate transactions that are covert and secret in nature but they are certainly not illegal. Such is the murky and dark world of intelligence and security worldwide. There is plenty that we do not know about their day to day operations and they have their own unique way of doing things. We should not assume the worse or constantly denigrate them simply because we are not familiar or comfortable with their modus operandi. Suffice it to say that anyone that is in the process of getting arms to help our boys at the war front to fight Boko Haram and protect our citizens and our country ought to be regarded as heroes and not villains. The attempt by certain elements in the opposition and the Nigerian media to stigmatise all those involved in this transaction and make the whole thing appear like something that is out of the ordinary or sordid and criminal in nature really does nauseate me. Those that know no better ought to appreciate the fact that this is how the real world operates and they should learn to live with it. The Nigerian intelligence services operate in no different a way to their colleagues in the international community and they do so with as much patriotism, professionalism and commitment as their counterparts from other parts of the world. And yes, we do have our very own ''James Bonds'' in our intelligence services even though, more often than not, they are not recognised, celebrated or appreciated. I counsel that we should cut these men and women that work in the shadows and in secrecy some slack and that we should not be too quick to label them as sleazy rogues who are attempting to indulge in all manner of criminal activities. Since we are on this topic I would like to take this opportunity to say one or two things about the way in which Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has been villified, maligned and treated with the utmost disdain and contempt in this and other matters by elements within the leading opposition party in our country. The truth is that contrary to what some of the leading lights in the opposition would have us believe he is not an arms smuggler, a money launderer, a murderer or a Boko Haram sponsor. Going to a foreign land and telling the Parliament of that country that the President of CAN in Nigeria is the head of Boko Haram, as one or two of them have just done, is not only a pernicious and vicious lie but it is also utterly shameful and disgraceful. Worst of all it is an affront to the Christian community in Nigeria and a reckless provocation. On the South African matter it is clear that Pastor Oritsejafor was not the owner of the 9.3 million USD and neither was he aware that the cash was being flown on the plane. Though he has confirmed that he was the owner of the plane he has also pointed out the fact that he had leased it out to a company on a long term basis who were themselves subleasing it out to other companies for regular trips. He has also said that he had no idea about who they were subleasing it to, where they were flying it to or who or what they were carrying in it in any of their operations. The two companies that were involved, both the one that leased it from Oritsejafor and the one that subleased it from them for the journey to South Africa, have since confirmed and corroborated what he has said. In my view that ought to settle the matter. Yet some people, fuelled and egged on by a ravenous and desperate opposition with a dark and sinister hidden agenda, have refused to let go of the matter and allow sleeping dogs to lie. Those in our land that are trying to divide our ranks and denigrate us by alleging that Oritsejafor is involved in gun-running, money-laundering, Boko Haram or any other filthy and unsavory criminal activity are the lowest of the low. They are wicked and cruel and I have no doubt that such people are in desperate need of prayer. They need deep intercession and deliverance from the demons that have taken control of them and that are using them. The truth is that it is a grave insult to the Christian community for anyone to suggest that the leader of the umbrella organisation of the over 80 million-strong Christian faithfuls in Nigeria is a sponsor of a vicious and barbaric Islamist sect that has killed and abducted more Christians and burnt more churches than any other terrorist organisation in the history of the African continent. The same people may as well tell us that the leaders of the Christian community in Syria and Iraq are the ones behind ISIL and ISIS. They can also tell us that the Christian leaders in their respective countries are the ones behind Al Shabab, the Taliban, the Al Nusra Front, Islamic Jihad, Al Qaeda, Daesh, Hamas, the supporter of APC, the Islamic Brotherhood and all the other terrorist organisations that have recently afflicted the world with their vile inhumanity, their sheer evil and their venal barbarism. It is only in Nigeria that the leadership of the Christian community would be accused, by a supposedly serious-minded opposition, of wanting to wipe out the Christian faith, wanting to kill all the Christians and moderate Muslims in the country and wanting to establish an Islamic fundamentalist state where 6th century sharia law applies, where little girls are subjected to serial rape and where women are enslaved. Calling the President of CAN a money-launderer and arms-smuggler and accusing him of murder and sponsoring terror will not help to create religious harmony in our country. As a matter of fact it will completely destroy it. Those that are doing so and the supporter of APC political party that is stirring up the hornet’s nest and encouraging them ought to think very carefully about the implications of what they are doing. We know that they have a religious agenda but they should not take this too far or push us to the wall. Our meekness and humility should not be taken for weakness or stupidity. It is in their own interest and in the interest of the unity of our nation for them to leave the President of CAN alone before matters get out of hand and before all hell breaks loose. He deserves to be accorded the same level of respect from the Muslim community in our country as the Sultan of Sokoto, the leader of the Muslims in Nigeria, is accorded by the Christians. : Started as an al Qaeda splinter group. Also known as Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant and Islamic State (IS). Led by Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. The aim of ISIS is to create an Islamic state across Sunni areas of Iraq and in Syria . ISIS is known for killing dozens of people at a time and carrying out public executions, crucifixions and other acts. It has taken over large swaths of northern and western Iraq. The group currently controls hundreds of square miles. It ignores international borders and has a presence from Syria's Mediterranean coast to south of Baghdad. It rules by Sharia law. ISIS's initial strategy for revenue was through extortion and robbery. Recently, al-Baghdadi's strategy shifted to generating resources through large-scale attacks aimed at capturing and holding territory. Unable to serve under the new Iraq government after Saddam Hussein's military was disbanded, former Iraqi soldiers became ISIS fighters, according to Middle East expert Fawaz Gerges. Timeline: 2004 - Abu Musab al-Zarqawi establishes al Qaeda in Iraq (AQI). 2006 - Under al-Zarqawi, al Qaeda in Iraq tries to ignite a sectarian war against the majority Shia community. June 7, 2006 - Al-Zarqawi is killed in a U.S. strike. Abu Ayyub al-Masri, also known as Abu Hamza al- Muhajer, takes his place as leader of AQI. October 2006 - AQI leader Abu Ayyub al-Masri announces the creation of Islamic State in Iraq (ISI), and establishes Abu Omar al-Baghdadi as its leader. April 2010 - Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi becomes leader of ISI after Abu Omar al-Baghdadi and Abu Ayyub al-Masri are killed in a joint U.S.-Iraqi operation. April 8, 2013 - ISI declares its absorption of an al Qaeda-backed militant group in Syria, Jabhat al- Nusra, also known as the al-Nusra Front. Al- Baghdadi says that his group will now be known as Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIS). April 2013 - Al-Nusra Front leader Abu Mohammed al-Jawlani rejects ISIS's attempt to merge with the group. February 3, 2014 - Al Qaeda renounces ties to ISIS after months of infighting between al-Nusra Front and ISIS. May 2014 - ISIS kidnaps more than 140 Kurdish schoolboys in Syria , forcing them to take lessons in radical Islamic theology. June 9, 2014 - Monday night into Tuesday, militants seize Mosul's airport, its TV stations and the governor's office. ISIS frees up to 1,000 prisoners. June 10, 2014 - ISIS takes control of Mosul. June 11, 2014 - ISIS takes control of Tikrit. June 21, 2014 - ISIS takes control of Al-Qaim, a town on the border with Syria, as well as three other Iraqi towns. June 28, 2014 - Iraqi Kurdistan restricts border crossings into the region for refugees fleeing the fighting. June 29, 2014 - ISIS announces the creation of a caliphate (Islamic state) that erases all state borders, making al-Baghdadi the self-declared authority over the world's estimated 1.5 billion Muslims. The group also announces a name change to the Islamic State (IS). June 30, 2014 - The United Nations announces that an estimated 1.2 million Iraqis have been forced from their homes. June 30, 2014 - The Pentagon announces the United States is sending an additional 300 troops to Iraq, bringing the total U.S. forces in Iraq to nearly 800. Troops and military advisers sent to Iraq are there to add security to the U.S. Embassy and the airport in Baghdad, and to provide support to Iraqi security forces. July 2014 - In Syria, all the cities between Deir Ezzor city and the Iraq border have fallen to ISIS, says Omar Abu Leila, a spokesman for the rebel Free Syrian Army. July 3, 2014 - ISIS takes control of a major Syrian oil field, al-Omar. It is the country's largest oil field and can produce 75,000 barrels of oil daily. July 17, 2014 - In Syria's Homs province, ISIS claims to have killed 270 people after storming and seizing the Shaer gas field. July 24, 2014 - ISIS militants blow up Jonah's tomb, a holy site in Mosul. August 8, 2014 - Two U.S. F/A-18 jet fighters bomb artillery of Sunni Islamic extremists in Iraq. President Barack Obama has authorized "targeted airstrikes" if needed to protect U.S. personnel from fighters with ISIS. The U.S. military also could use airstrikes to prevent what officials warn could be a genocide of minority groups by the ISIS fighters. August 19, 2014 - In a video posted on YouTube, U.S. journalist James Foley, missing in Syria since 2012, is decapitated by ISIS militants . The militants then threaten the life of another captured U.S. journalist, believed to be Steven Sotloff. September 2, 2014 - ISIS releases a video showing the beheading of U.S. journalist Steven Sotloff. Sotloff's apparent executioner speaks in what sounds like the same British accent as the man who purportedly killed Foley. He's dressed identically in both videos, head to toe in black, with a face mask and combat boots. He appears to be of similar build and height. He waves a knife in his left hand, as did the militant in the video of Foley's death. September 13, 2014 - ISIS militants post video on a website associated with the group, showing the apparent execution of British aid worker David Haines. This makes him the third Western captive to be killed by the Islamist extremist group in recent weeks. ISIS directs a statement at British Prime Minister David Cameron, threatening more destruction if Britian continues its "evil alliance with America." At the end of the video, the executioner threatens the life of Alan Henning, another British citizen held captive. The executioner appears to be the same one who killed both Steven Sotloff and James Foley. http://edition.cnn.com/2014/08/08/world/isis-fast-facts/ |
Dear Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, When you were around we called you: The BAD one. The SLOW ONE. The SICK ONE. Yes, you were sick, in fact, sick all through your administration. We all cried for your resignation at the height of your sickness. Cursing you, your first lady and your supporters (The first set of Cabals). Asking you to die if you want to die and allow the man with all the Goodluck in this world to lead us. We forgot that even though you were sick, you were the first Governor to have ever declared his assets publicly and you remained the only President in the history of Nigeria to have ever declare his assets publicly. We conveniently forgot that even though you were gravely sick you were the first president to ever reduced the price of petrol in Nigeria, (From N75 to N70 and later from N70 to N65) and the economy did not collapse like the present leaders are making us believe. U even reversed d sale of our refineries. We forgot that you didn’t afflict yourself with your sickness and so could do very little about it. But we still insisted that you just have to go, so that Nigeria can finally have her chance with Goodluck. We forgot that even though you were terminally ill, you still succeeded in solving the Niger Delta crisis which you didn’t cause, but you found a solution. And even crushed d first Boko Haram uprising and caught its leader. You gave us rule of Law, Ameachi reclaimed his mandate as Rivers State governor, Andy Uba lost in court and was removed as Anambra State’s Governor. Oni lost in Ekiti and was removed, Agagu lost in Ondo and was removed, Osunbor lost in Edo and was removed even though they are all members of your party (PDP). Now we have seen what a healthy president has done with the country. His Excellency President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, may your soul rest in perfect peace. We will forever remember you and your leadership. http://bioreports.net/news/dino-melaye-writes-late-umaru-musa-yaradua/ |
Valiant Military Commander Who Recaptured Damboa Transferred Out By Military Chiefs. What has been exposed as top military sabotage of the so- called war against Boko Haram, has not yet ended in the Nigerian military according to continuing reports from the battlefront .Nigeria ’s top Boko Haram negotiator , Australian Dr. Stephen Davis recently revealed that Nigeria ’s former Military chief, General Azubuike Ihejirika is a top sponsor of the Boko Haram terrorist group. This perplexing revelation answered hundreds of questions Nigerians had on why one of the best armies in Africa remained unable to defeat a handful of ragtag terrorists living in harsh conditions like Robinson Crusoe in circumscribed jungles in the northeast. But since this army chief was sacked this January , we have continued to receive disturbing reports of a continuation of top military level, army chief implicated, sabotage of the so- called operations against Boko Haram. The sabotage sacrifices men of the Nigerian army and allows Boko Haram recoup continuously and conscript more young youth from the north , creating a permanent , endless cycle of loss of life of Nigerian northern youth . Most recently it was complained to us that the recent valiant action of an army commander in recovering Damboa from the hands of Boko Haram last August , surprisingly earned him a transfer and got him replaced. This is very hard to believe , but our sources have confirmed that Maj . Gen D . M. Kachalla who led his men bravely and tactically and was able to recapture Damboa from the Boko Haram terrorists was immediately thereafter removed from his post and transferred out of Borno State . Maj . Gen D . M. Kachalla with his special force defeated Boko Haram and reclaimed Damboa without any causality on the army side . It has been noted that the Special task force who defeated Boko Haram in 2013 after the state of emergency was declared , and killed the original Shekau in August of that year were all transferred out of the State likewise by the Military chief that very August shortly after they reported killing the original Shekau and that was when the stationary army division 7 was suddenly used to replace the effective JTF and Boko Haram was allowed to forcibly conscript more unfortunate northern youth and the sect was allowed to recover fully. Evidence suggests a level of cooperation between the leaders of Boko Haram and Nigeria ’s implicated army chiefs. Military vehicles and weapons are left for the terrorists and capable army commanders are transferred out. Also the Civilian- JTF who Boko Haram hates and fears the most were significantly undermined and incapacitated by the former head of the army , General Ihejirika. They remain sidelined and obstructed from engaging and sacking Boko Haram under the current Military Chief , General Kenneth Minimah . The United States Assistant Secretary for Africa Affairs, Linda Thomas- Greenfield this week described the Nigerian military as literally a sham now , stating that it has lost practically all left of its reputation. http://nigeriacamera.net/military-commander-who-recaptured-damboa-transferred-out-by-military-chiefs/ |
New Chelsea striker didn't want to wear the 'jinxed' number Chelsea striker Loic Remy refused to wear the number-9 shirt at the club and opted to choose number-18 instead. The Frenchman joined The Blues just before transfer deadline day from Queens Park Rangers, and despite the no.9 shirt being available, Remy went with 18 instead, in order to avoid wearing the 'cursed' number. The number was left vacant after Fernando Torres completed his two-year loan deal to AC Milan, but the new striker refused to take the number. Chelsea have failed to have a successful no.9 since Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, who left the club over a decade ago. Since Hasselbaink; Torres, Franco Di Santo, Steve Sidwell, Khalid Boulahrouz, Hernan Crespo and Mateja Kezman, all put on the number 9 shirt, and all failed to shine at Stamford Bridge. http://sillyseason.com/football/premier-league/chelsea-fc/loic-remy-refused-number-9-shirt |

SUSPENDED INEC OFFICIALS UNCONNECTED WITH AREGBESOLA 'S VICTORY -INEC OFFICE The release below speaks for itself over their lies on the suspended INEC officials and Aregbesola 'svictory. INDEPENDENT NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION OSUN STATE PRESS RELEASE It is imperative to comment and correct the erroneous impression created over the pages of the newspapers concerning the suspension of two INEC officers over alleged electoral fraud during the August 9th Governorship Election. it is pertinent to clarify and also set the record straight that the two Electoral Officers Mr Funsho Tope Fabunmi (Osogbo Local Government) and Mr. Anthony Olusegun Esinoye (Obokun Local Government) were not suspended based on allegedly colusion with the All Progressive Congress (APC) to manipulate electoral process in favour of the party in Osogbo and Obokun Local Government Councils respectively. They were neither culpable of selling ballot papers to the APC nor manipulation of Form EC8C to favour the APC and voiding of PDP votes counted in favour of the APC. Mr Fabunmi was suspended based on administrative lapses occasioned in the course of discharging his duties. Mr. Esinoye Electoral Officer Obokun Local Government on 7th August 2014 was alleged by the People of Obokun Local Government Area of diverting sensitive election materials and was arrested by the Police in the area. A press release was immediately issued to correct the spurious allegation that non- sensitive materials which were supposed to be deployed alongside with the sensitive materials were erroneously taken to the Registration Area Centre along with materials meant for the setting up of the centre by the Assistant Executive Officer of the Local Government while the Electoral Officer was at the State Office of the Commission in Osogbo for the collection of the sensitive election materials in the presence of security and political party agents. It was at the point of retrieval of the non- sensitive materials that the residents of the area accosted him and raised alarm that drew the attention of the Police. It is important at this point to emphasis that INEC Headquarters did not find the Electoral Officers culpable of working for the APC to rig the election as purported by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). We strongly believe that the stories in the Dailies are part of grand design to cast aspersion on the integrity of INEC, it is our wish to state unequivocally that INEC will always be forthright, transparent and alive to her responsibilities and have zero tolerance for indiscipline and will bring erring officer to book. TADESE ADENIKE (MRS) CHIEF PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICER FOR: HON RESIDENT ELECTORAL COMMISSIONER |
he All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State of Osun has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission to immediately clear the air on information given to the public by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) alleging that two of its staff have been suspended and are under investigation for manipulating the election result from two local governments to favour the APC. It is unfortunate that the Peoples Democratic Party handlers have gone to town manipulating facts and placing their offences on their intended victim, the All Progressives Congress. It is on record that on 8 August, 2014, vigilant youths arrested a truck-full of ballot papers to be used for the gubernatorial election on 9 August, 2014 and this was widely reported. The two persons in charge of the vehicle who were arrested were the Electoral Officer of Obokun Local Government in Osun State, Segun Eshilokun and one Ismaila Taofik who were in possession of the electoral materials before INEC started the distribution of materials. The two culprits were handed over to the police and were taken to the State CID in Osogbo. Later, the two of them were released to one Oladipo Oladapo, a PDP chieftain from Ile-Ife without any charge brought against them. The order to release them was simply said to have come ‘from above’. It was pursuant to this that we wrote a petition to INEC for the matter to be duly investigated and the culprits brought to book. Furthermore, the second INEC official who has just been suspended was the Electoral Officer for Osogbo Local Government, a card-carrying member of the PDP. The suspension was pursuant to our petition complaining of several malpractices against this individual who connived to manipulate the election in favour of PDP on the 9th of August, 2014 when he released only 64 identification tags to APC polling agents out of a total of 227 that was due to be given to our agents. The implication was that APC agents were denied access to their polling units until the accreditation process was over and, if not for prompt intervention by Ambassador Wali, the INEC National Commissioner in charge, APC agents would have been completely excluded from most polling units in Osogbo Local Government. Later in the day after the conclusion of the election, the same Electoral Officer for Osogbo Local Government refused to produce the Form EC8C customized for Osogbo Local Government and in which the collated results of the various Wards in Osogbo were to be recorded. Upon our complaint, INEC issued this corrupt official another query and was given a one-hour ultimatum to produce the form. It was pursuant to this that he grudgingly produced the form and the results were recorded and announced. It is rather disconcerting to read in the dailies that a source close to Senator Iyiola Omisore rather turned the facts round that the said official was said to have colluded with APC in manipulating the election which PDP woefully lost. This is just a shoddy job to corrupt public opinion and augment their unfortunate election petition which is doomed to fail. It is certain that Segun Eshinlokun was working for PDP when he was nabbed by the ever-vigilant APC members who knew the fraudulent intention of the PDP ahead of the election. It was also certain that the Electoral Officer for Osogbo Local Government knew that the people of Osogbo and its environs were going to give the largest votes to APC and hence his devilish determination to assist Iyiola Omisore to subvert popular democracy. We wish to place on record that it is most irresponsible journalism for a section in the media to gleefully give fillip to falsehood without proper investigation. The stories above were well known ahead of the unfortunate publications of 3 September, 2014 where the section of the media under reference joyously committed perfidy by making the victim the accused rather than joining hands to condemn an electoral evil which is destroying the society. We call on the relevant authorities in INEC to note that the acts perpetrated by the Electoral Officers of Obokun and Osogbo Local Governments are criminal in nature. The steps to be taken should not be limited to administrative discipline but the two culprits must be prosecuted. They were out to give INEC a bad name in order to satisfy their gusto for filthy lucre. The stakes here are very high and INEC should not allow a party to take over its responsibility of truthfully informing the public as to what is really going on in the INEC over the last gubernatorial election which was won convincingly by Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola of the APC. Barr. Kunle Oyatomi, Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy, APC, State of Osun. |

When he visited the headquarters of Independent Newspaper Limited (INL) some days ago, he expressed worries on the state of the nation. He pleaded that what he tagged divine messages should be published for Nigerians to note beforehand. The Ibadan, Oyo State-born prophet, Afolayan Solomon Samuel, the presiding cleric of Christ Apostolic Church, Importance of Praise Ministries, Badagry, said that while he was praying at a prayer mountain in Badagry, Lagos State, God revealed to him that two serving governors would emerge as president and vice president in 2015 general election. He predicted that the two governors would come from both the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC), saying the incumbent Katsina State Governor, Ibrahim Shema and his Ogun State counterpart, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, were anointed candidates for the posts of president and vice president respectively. Asked how the vision would be actualised, he said: “Well, you said both of them are in different political parties and that Amosun is already thinking of his re-election as Ogun State governor in 2015. Man can desire what pleases him but the will of God is supreme. “The two governors may not be conscious of the development now but it will certainly come to pass. They have been favoured to rule the nation by God. Whichever political party they settled for at the end of the day, Nigerians will queue behind them. The message was revealed to me since January 16 and January 24, this year, that serving governors from two different parties, one from APC and the other from PDP would rule Nigeria by 2015. God has already favoured them. “Nigerians should expect surprises during the 2015 poll. I foresee the two governors as occupants of the offices of president and vice president respectively. How God will do it is beyond human knowledge. Even at the moment their respective political parties are not looking in their direction at all.” The prophet urged the Federal Government to hold a praise and worship music concert to honour God in all the stadia in the country to enable the nation to overcome terrorism. “In the book of 2nd Chronicle chapter 20, verse 12, when the Israelites sang the praises of God, all their enemies turned against one another. That is what will happen if the event is held on Saturday, December 6, this year,” he said https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=737181903010329&id=378378918890631&refid=7&_ft_=qid.6053315521429461121%3Amf_story_key.466364569615114495%3Aapp_id.0&__tn__=%2As |
