FamilyRe: My Aunt's Husband Accused Their Neighbour Of Fathering Their Son by Ayopercent(m): 4:46pm On Apr 09, 2017
rosalieene:
Your Opinion Is Needed Please Help

My aunt(mum's last sibling) has been having issues with her husband since she got married. She has two kids, a girl(2 yrs old) and a boy(1 yr old). The girl looks like her husband, the boy looks like her husband's brother.

Apart from the other issues they have been having, there is a particular issue that tore them apart. When the boy was born, the husband has been accusing her of sleeping with a man who stays in the same house with them (a room was leased to him), he said the man is the real father of the son.

My aunt asked for a DNA test to be ran but then he shouted and was saying will she provide the money for the test. Least I forget, my aunt isn't doing anything since she got married to him. He didn't want her to work but to depend on him. Most times he doesn't give her money for feeding and upkeep..she usually run to my uncles(her brothers) they give her money. It was also because of him my granny died( she developed high bp when she came for omugwo because of the way she was treated, everyday she comes to my house and my mum gives her food).

Due to the accusations and other issues, last month instead of a DNA test, the hubby ran a genotype and blood group test and his matched with the little baby's own. later on, the man kept on insisting that the little boy is not his son as he calls him "Dada" instead of "daddy".

This time around he started accusing my aunt of sleeping with his brother and an Uncle of his. He even beats the children at any slight provocation.

On wednesday around midnight, 2:30am to be precise according to her, he came to her room and started dragging her, beating her up, strangling her, threatening to kill her even said he doesn't mind going to jail if he kills her. He was beating her and asking who was the father of the boy. He seized her phone too. Her eyes were swollen plus other injuries on her body. The next day when my uncles got to know what happened, they sent my sis to go help her pack up her stuffs and since then my aunt and her kids had been in my house. My uncles were looking for good divorce lawyers as my aunt has made up her mind not to go back to the hubby because she might die in his hands.

Last night the husband came to my house pleading, kneeling down, begging and crying. he refused to go home even till 10pm. he said he wanted his wife and kids back. he kept pleading for a second chance and kept saying he doesn't want to marry another wife... but my dad insisted he leaves the house. he was even denied access to his kids.I felt pity for the man.

Now, do you think he deserves a second chance? do you think he was really remorseful? or do you think she should go on with the divorce case? she is really at cross roads now and confused. Me for one, I don't support divorce but I don't expect someone to keep tolerating domestic violence and loose her life. Do you think she would remarry after the divorce? she had operation during the birth of her kids so she is not really in good shape so do you think any man will look at her? I am also confused on her behalf.
Your Aunt husband has ran mad. He needs urgently a psychiatrist attention.

CrimeUpdate On Oluwo Of Iwo Case by Ayopercent(op): 7:36am On Jan 07, 2017
But counsel to the respondent, Mr Laide Yekini, pleaded with the Magistrate to listen to him and consider the notice of discontinuance of the matter brought before the court by his colleague. The Magistrate insisted that he would not entertain the withdrawal of the case and the counsel to the respondent said he wanted the court to record it appropriately that a notice of withdrawal of the case was brought to the court and the judge refused to entertain it. As a result of this, the Magistrate agreed to attend to the application seeking the withdrawal of the suit and the counsel to the plaintiff moved the application. In his ruling, Magistrate Aluko said for the sake of consistency, he would not make any pronouncement on the withdrawal of the suit and that he would withdraw from the cease and refer the case back to the Chief Magistrate for further action. He adjourned the matter till February 15. Needless War After the court session, the Olowu of Kuta, Oba Ahmed Adekunle Oyelude, who spoke for other traditional rulers said: “On behalf of members of Iwo Traditional Council, we have amicably resolved the needless rift between the two brothers, Oluwo-Oke and the Oluwo. “It has been resolved in the Yoruba way and that is why you can see the Oluwo Oke withdrawing the case and you can see we have demonstrated the traditional institutions respect for the judiciary and we will continue to hold the judiciary in high esteem. Oluwo of Iwo will continue to respect the judiciary. “Oluwo of Iwo could not make it to the court today because he is indisposed. We are all human beings. God has enforced His order and by the Grace of God, the Oluwo will be on his feet before the next adjournment and he will come and do the needful. This is needless war. We want all of you to know that everything that emanated as a result of this needless issue is regretted. Oluwo holds all of you and Iwoland and Nigeria especially, in high esteem. He will continue to respect the sanctity of the judiciary. He is a foremost traditional ruler and an Apostle of alternate conflict resolution, he has used his money to rehabilitate the court and he will not do anything to undermine the judiciary. In a chat with reporters after the court’s sitting, the plaintiff, Oba Akadiri Lamidi Adeoye, said he withdrew the case because of the intervention of the former President, Mr Olusegun Obasanjo and the state governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola who persuaded him to embrace amicable resolution. “Our former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, called me and our Governor also intervened and asked me to withdraw the case from the court. That is why I decided to do so. I respect this people so much, they are men of integrity and that is why I obeyed them. “Some of those who intervened are older than me and I cannot say because I am a king, I will not respect them. They are people who should be respected and that was why I followed their advice,”he said. The Oba further told reporters that he was not coerced or forced to drop the case “as many may want to insinuate”. “Even the Traditional Council in Osun State intervened. So, what else do I want than to accept. If the case is taken to the supreme Court today, we will win the case but because of those who have appealed to us to drop the case, we just have to obey,” the oluwo-oke explained. The Oluwo-Oke had dragged his brother king, the Oluwo of Iwoland to court over superiority issue between the duo which eventually pitched their subjects against themselves and almost turned violent in Iwoland and its suburbs. He accused Oba Akanbi of presently making money through the internet fraud otherwise known as “Yahoo Yahoo” and was using his palace as a cover-up. But Oba Akanbi reacted to these allegations in a 13 paragraph affidavits through the Aremo of Iwo land, Mr Adelani Akanbi, describing the application filed against the Oluwo of Iwo by Oba Adeoye as “scandalous, vexations and designed to embarrass, blackmail and ridicule the monarch in the view of right thinking members of the society”. CrimeWhat You Need To Know When Directed By The Police To Write A Statement: by Ayopercent(op): 4:14pm On Sep 14, 2016
If the police ask you to write a statement, which
they normally do when they stop you on the road
and take you to their station or when they invite you
to their station, you should know how to write a
good statement that will not implicate you.
First, whether you write a statement as a witness or
as a suspect, you must understand that your
statement is very likely going to be used against
you either in court or for the purpose of blackmail
by some officers (not all). Therefore, take your
statement writing as a serious matter.
Remember that you have right to refuse to write a
statement until your lawyer is present. But this
normally leads to argument and hostile reactions
from the police, and it may likely be a pretext for
them not releasing you immediately.
There are no hard and fast rules as to the content of
a statement. It is supposed to be what you know in
relation to an incident or the reason for you being
brought to the station. Since the statement is not
just a general view on anything you like, it is
important that you know the reason for which you
have been brought to the station.
For those who have been suspected of committing
an offense, make sure that before you start writing
a statement, you ask the officer the offense for
which you have been brought to the station. If he
tells you that there is no offense, that they just want
you to tell them all you know, you can politely say:
No, Sir. The police force is meant to enforce the
criminal law. Therefore, the police would not have
any justification to bring you to the station except if
they suspect that an offense has been committed
somewhere by somebody - either you or someone
else. And you need to know the offense and the
person suspected before you could write your
statement.
Also, if you were arrested or invited as a result of a
petition written against you, you must demand to
read carefully that petition before you start giving
your statement.
When you start your statement, make sure you
explain in your statement the reason for which you
have been asked to make your statement. For
instance, you can say something like: "I was
stopped while driving my vehicle with registration
number xxxxx on ________ street in _______ city.
After showing my papers to officer xxxxxxx, I was
taken to the police station and informed that my car
was suspected of being stolen car"
Then you make your statement. You will see that
the police will not like this. But you should be able to
state the summary of the circumstances that led to
you having to make a statement in the station.
I will say more about writing statements at police
stations. For now, just get the idea that you should
explain why you are making a statement and the
offenses you were told you were suspected of. You
should state that in your statement before you begin
to write other things
POST SCRIPT: The reason you have to state in your
statement the reason for making a statement is
obvious. Your statement when read by a third party
can only make sense in the context of the matter
that prompted the statement. So, if you didn't state
the matter to which your statement relates, the
police may change the matter down the line.
Initially, you thought you were arrested because of
stolen vehicle, but the police later charged it to
kidnapping. If a judge is reading your statement in a
kidnapping case, he will think you were evading the
issues. He will think you were dodging the matter
that you don't want to answer the question. And he
will form a negative opinion of you based on your
presumably inconclusive and evasive statement .
So be careful and be wise.

How to avoid npower registration fraud in Nigeria

Handing over your username, password, bvn, and other personal details to someone you don't trust could be risky just as registration requirements contain vital info about your financial details.

A lot of links are out there directing you to use the link to register for npower, pls disregard any shortened URL or any hidden link. Because fraudsters are going to also use this opportunity to get BVN, and other personal details which might be used against you later.

If you are unable to register now, try later in the day.

Don't drop your email address on public forum to avoid unsolicited messages targeting your personal details.

If all what you got on npower.gov.ng is NGINX close the page and try again later.

Also........

If you're able to get to the final stage: submission page of npower portal, you clicked on it and you're taken back to page 1, close the page, it means your application has been received.

However, you might not get congratulatory email immediately.

One of the applicants just told me she just got acknowledgment email today Thursday containing her registration number having submitted on Monday .

If you're facing the same issue, please be patient and keep checking your inbox and spam folder for any updates.

All the best!
Pls,is there no opportunity to register for npower teach again because d option I am seeing are npower build, creative, tech hardware and tech software.....

At the moment, the traffic gridlock at Akinola in Ile Ife along Lagos Ibadan expressway is far turning to a big mess.

Amiloaded gathered that motorists and commuters are finding it hard to meander through the gridlock.

The total gridlock is caused by the presence of a very large hole along the road axis.

Heavy duty trucks are held along the express way traffic due to an uneasy passage through the hole.

PoliticsEKITI STATE: The Choices We Made - Sen Ojudu by Ayopercent(op): 5:44pm On Jun 11, 2016
Today is a very sad day for me. I feel so sad to the
point numbness. All the states of Nigeria were
represented earlier today at the stakeholders'
briefing for the Free School Feeding program in
Abuja. Some of the young men and women planning
and executing this exciting and enriching project
are from Ekiti, but Ekiti State, my state, their state is
not a beneficiary. As such Ekiti State is not a
partipating state and not represented. Our children
in public schools in Ekiti will not benefit from this
programme.
The benefits in terms of child nutrition and good
health will not come to them. School enrolment will
not increase as experienced in Osun and Kaduna
states, not to talk of retention! We shall not benefit
from the spin-off effect of local agricultural
production. Thousands of our women will not
benefit from being employed as caterers.
Furthermore, our family and state economy will not
improve as envisaged in the participating states.
This is simply because of the choice we made.
What do we do now? How do we get out of this dark
alley? The rest of the country is moving fast past
us. This is unacceptable. Something has to give. We
cannot sit down, fold our hands and mortgage the
future of thousands of our young children and
women who should benefit from this laudable
program and many other initiatives that are aimed
at improving the lives of our people.
A few days ago thousands of hectares of land were
cleared by the Federal Government in Osun State
and parcelled out to young farmers to cultivate
Cashew. In the next three years, this plantation will
be manufacturing cashew juice, producing pulps
and nuts as well as oil used in furniture
manufacturing . This is an initiative of the Federal
Goverment in partnership with the state government
and that game changer Oba, the Ooni of Ife.
For months now our Governor, Ayo Fayose has not
attended the National Economic Council meetings.
Great initiatives are coming out of this congregation
of Governors and Federal Government officials to
diversify the economy .
In one year Kebbi State has benefitted N18 billion
from the rice intervention fund. In a season, the
farmers in Kebbi have harvested one million tons of
rice paddy . Lagos and Kebbi are collaborating in
rice production and rice milling.
Where are we in all of these developments
happening around us? Governors are drawing from
many other intervention funds to organise their
farmers to grow cassava, cocoa and palm trees.
We are not featuring in any of these, yet we are
mired in poverty. Our people are hungry and
stealing pots of soup from their neighbour's kitchen
and downing bowls of stolen amala with cold palm
oil. What has gone wrong with us?
Our situation is very sad and critical but this is a
choice we made!

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Do NAIRALAND Members Hate First Class And 2.1 Graduates? by Ayopercent(m): 11:13am On May 09, 2016
Basalt:
Its just a harmless question and never intended for mockery.

I notice that whenever one mention in his comment that he graduated with 2.1 or first class, he will usually be faced with so many ridiculous and mockery comments especially from those that graduated with 2.2 and below
You will be seeing things like

**who first class EPP

**If they don't say that, they will start reminding you that first class and 2.1 does not give job, connection gives job
**Another thing they say is this, first class ko, 2.1 ni, come to FUTA and know whether you go even smell 3rd class
**Another thing they do is scrutinizing your write-up for any possible error so that they will use it against you to prove that your 2.1 is meagre

**Another set of people will keep on yelling like PDP supporters telling you that most people that graduated with 2.2 are practically better than those that graduated with first class. That first class and 2.1 are empty vessels and robots who are only good in cramming
Who asked you?
If you are as good as you claim, why you no make first class?

Now I ask, why the so much HATE ON FIRST CLASS AND 2.1 GRADUATES?

This world is small, it will not benefit anybody if the hate continues

lets change our mentality and see everybody as one and stop this unnecessary hatred.

But if you decide to hate, na for your pocket.
