1) Using d method that involves depreciation Accounting rate of return (ARR)= average annual profit/initial investment Depreciation =initial value-salvage value/lifespan of asset =2850000-500000/5 = #470000 ARR calculation Average annual profit = profit - depreciation 300000 + 500000 + 750000 + 780000 + 570000 - 470000 = #2430000 ARR = 2430000/2850000 = 85% (2) Using profitability index (PI) to appraise the project PI = 1 + NPV/initial investment NPV-net present value NPV= - 2850000+162162.16+146198.83+118483.41+66609.74+26303.65 = -2330242.21 The profitability index will be less dan one(1) because d NPV value is negative, this makes this project not to be profitable. The first method show d profitability of d investment but this profitability index method hv shown dat d project is not profitable hence it should nt be implemented. |

Ekiti State workers yesterday said they fared
better under former Governor Kayode Fayemi.
They alleged poor welfare conditions
occasioned by non-payment of their salaries
and other entitlements.
Acting under the aegis of Enlightened Workers
Forum (EWF), they claimed that the Yuletide was
“the worst for workers in the history of Ekiti” as
many of them celebrated the holidays in hunger.
The EWF, in a statement yesterday by its
Coordinator, Mike Bamidele, said workers
enjoyed salary increase at least three times
during the Fayemi administration besides other
incentives such as promotion, special
Christmas/New Year allowances, among others.
Fayemi, according to them, “gave substantial
Christmas bonuses to all workers, which started
from 10 per cent of basic salaries in his first
year to 30 per cent in the fourth year”.
The EWF recalled that during negotiations
leading to the N19,250 minimum wage being
enjoyed in the state, it was believed that the
Federal Government would increase allocations
to states but this was not to be as states began
having problems with payment of salaries.
They said the ex-governor in agreement with
labour leaders adopted the option of paying net
salaries and differing deductions till when there
would be special releases but the organised
labour did not carry workers along on the
decision “hence the blackmail that followed”.
The statement said: “Fayose has never
increased salary in the history of his
governance of Ekiti State, rather he is known for
inciting the people of the state against the
workers.
“We had no doubt found ourselves in a situation
whereby the Awo free education legacy had
been destroyed in Ekiti State, as pupils in
primary and secondary schools have to pay
fees.
“Now artisans and various trade groups groan
under the burden of heavy tax. May God save
workers from the pains they are going through.
The benefits of the Fayemi administration were
enormous.” http://thenationonlineng.net/our-lot-better-under-fayemi-say-ekiti-workers/ |

The University Community is hereby informed that the Student Union has resolved to embark on a lecture boycott and protest from Monday, 30th November, 2015. It should be noted that this action contravenes the University regulation which stipulates that the Student Union must give at least 48 hours notice before embarking on lecture boycott. Among the Union’s demands are the following: 1. Constant and uninterrupted supply of electricity and water; 2. Renovation and RE-FUMIGATION of all halls of residence, laboratories and lecture theatres 3. Proper funding of the education sector 4. Reinstatement of one ‘Olawale OGUNRUKU’ Members of the University Community may wish to recall that there was a disturbance of peace on Campus on Friday, November 27, 2015 when a group of students went round Campus chanting protest songs and chasing their colleagues out of the University Library and Lecture Theatres. Earlier within the month, members of the Central Executive Council of the Student Union assaulted a Professor and former Dean of a Faculty and disrupted a lecture that he was delivering. The matter is still being investigated. The University Community may wish to know that in response to the Student Union’s request for a meeting with the University Administration, a meeting was scheduled by the University Administration for Sunday, 29th November, 2015 but the Student Union Executive refused to attend the meeting. The Student Union Executive rather sent a letter after the meeting was supposed to have commenced stating that their attendance at the meeting with the University Administration would be a betrayal of their cause and frustrate their already planned lecture boycott and protest. Indeed, the Student Union Executive stated furtherthat their attendance at the meeting would put a big question mark on the integrity of theleadership of the Union and as such the planned lecture boycott and protest are not negotiable. In regard to the demands of the Student Union, the University Community may wish to note as follows: 1. Constant and Uninterrupted Supply of Electricity and Water The University Administration wishes to place on record that the University Campus is an estate that has enjoyed the best supply of these municipal facilities compared to anywhere else in the country as it has a dedicated line from the National Distribution Centre. Nevertheless, the reliability of these services is beyond the control of the University and should be considered in the context of the national situation. It should be noted that the continuous flow of water is related to availability of electricity. 2. Renovation and Re-fumigation of all Halls of Residence, Laboratories and Lecture Theaters The University Community may wish to note that the Halls of Residence were fumigated within the last one month. Since the students have requested for re-fumigation of the Halls, Laboratories and Lecture Theatres, it means that they will have to vacate their Halls of Residence and academic activities will have to be suspended, to enable the University to meet this demand. 3. Proper funding of the education sector The funding of the education sector is beyond the purview of ObafemiAwolowo University. The Student Union may wish to direct this demand to the appropriate quarters. 4. Reinstament of “OlawaleOgunruku” This name does not exist in the student database of ObafemiAwolowo University. However, since every bona fide student of this University has a Matriculation Number, the Student Union may wish to provide the Matriculation number of the so-called OlawaleOgunruku to assist in establishing the veracity of the demand of the Union. The University Administration wishes to use this medium to appeal to the generality of students to allow peace to reign and desist from any action that may lead to the elongation of the academic calendar or outright cancellation of one academic session. http://www.oauife.edu.ng/2015/11/information-to-the-university-community-on-the-planned-protest-by-the-student-union-from-monday-30th-november-2015/ |

Love him or hate him, Aregbesola remains simply popular here in Osun! Come and see Osun people during yesterday Ileya salah! No doubt it's trying times, yet Aregbesola is loved. Despite desperate disparaging disinformation and outright defamation continually disseminated by despicable Osun PDP and their sympathisers, Osun people remains solidly with Ogbeni. While Osun people were reading the story of attacks against some dignitaries during the Sallah prayers in another state, it was serious prayers and praises for Ogbeni Aregbesola in Osun. The shout of Omoluabi and Oranmiyan rent the air as Aregbesola drove round town. Many women, artisans, OKADA riders, youths and gaily dressed holiday makers showered praises and prayers on Ogbeni. The genuine wish of the people is that Ogbeni will succeed and complete all his ongoing projects. While some media houses such as the Punch Newspapers (a beloved paper) and Tribune with many online publications copying rain abuses on the Governor daily, yet Aregbesola’s projects, passion and piety bound him with the real Osun people. How truthful and nice will it be if Punch and Tribune headlines will capture the real feelings of Osun who yesterday massed out to show love for Ogbeni and not just only the view of haters. May the prayers for Ogbeni by young and old for successful completion of projects be fulfilled. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10207979083175713&id=1256826956&refid=7&_ft_=qid.6198364247478699686%3Amf_story_key.5990752997989612788%3AeligibleForSeeFirstBumping.&__tn__=%2As

New footage has emerged in the debate surrounding Eden Hazard, who was seen asking for treatment from Chelsea's medical staff against Swansea. The Belgian is shown collecting the ball just inside the Swansea half from team-mate Radamel Falcao then surging forward. Hazard changes direction and goes past Ashley Williams before being clipped by his opponent and falling to the ground. The 24-year-old looks to be in discomfort when he lands face down and rolls on to his right side holding his groin then back on to his front with a pained look on his face. Hazard remains in that position for a few seconds before referee Mike Oliver, having booked Williams for the foul, walks over and seems to ask Hazard if he requires treatment. Oliver then calls on Chelsea’s medical staff and when they don’t respond at first, he nods to give them permission to come on at the player’s request. Physio Jon Fearn enters the field of play first and is quickly followed by club doctor Eva Carneiro, something which sparks an angry reaction from manager Jose Mourinho. He bursts aggressively on to the pitch himself before turning around, stepping back over the touchline and shouting in the direction of the home dug-out. When the medics return back to the technical area after treating Hazard, Mourinho confronts Carneiro first. There is an exchange of words between the two, with the Portuguese animatedly pointing to the pitch and shouting. Fearn follows Carneiro a few seconds later but avoids eye contact with Mourinho, who lambasts him while waving his arms theatrically. The physio does not respond. Mourinho described the pair as naive after the match but Premier League rules state Carneiro and Fearn did nothing wrong. The protocol is when a player goes down, the referee will speak to him and ask if he wants medical attention. Hazard appeared to do that in this instance and after Oliver was told to summon the medics, the match official gestured to the bench twice in order to allow them to enter the field of play. A range of medical professionals have backed Carneiro and Fearn, with many insisting they had a duty of care to Hazard in a situation where he appeared to be hurt and needing help. http://www.teamtalk.com/chelsea/9947941/Chelsea-medics-backed-by-fresh-footage-from-Stamford-Bridge |

The investigative panel of Osun state House of
Assembly has invited Justic Folahanmi Oloyede,
who petitioned the parliament accusing Governor
Rauf Aregbesola of impropriety, to appear before it
on Tuesday at the House of Assembly complex.
Justice Oloyede, a serving judge in the state
judiciary, had petitioned the House of Assembly,
seeking the impeachment of Aregbesola over failure
to pay workers' salaries and alleged
mismanagement of Osun State funds.
But in a statement signed by the Chief Press
Secretary to the Speaker, Mr. Goke Butika, the
panel, in a letter signed by its chairman of the panel
who is also the Deputy Speaker, Honourable
Akintunde Adegboye, asked Justice Oloyede to
appear before the panel so as to substantiate the
allegations raised in her petitions
According to the letter, "you (Oloyede) are to appear
before the panel constituted by the Speaker,
Honourable Najeem Salaam, saddled with the
responsibility to investigate the allegations raised in
your petition, and you are enjoined to appear with
your evidences to substantiate the allegations."
It would be recalled that the Speaker had, on July
16, constituted a seven-man panel to investigate
the petition of Justice Oloyede and take oral and
written evidence from the parties involved in the
petition. http://tribuneonlineng.com/osun-judge-appears-osun-assembly-probe-panel-tuesday |
