BTFormular: more details please. Those are the days the CBN pumps dollar into the nigerian market. Atimes, oil coys also sell dollars on Fridays. Just that we don't have a business channel that reports news at that point in time. But lay your hands on Businessday or watch ChannelsTV Wednesday morning around 10am or 11am for the business news. As time goes on, I'll work on getting a hotline. ayox2003: He he he no be Nigerian naira be that?Moving stops to break-even. Frawzey |

Two lessons: 1) Don't vote for someone just because he/she is from ur village/tribe. You'd be disappointed if he doesn't influence living conditions in your village/tribe. In short, don't vote based on tribalism. Vote for competence! 2) Nigeria's judicial system is already dead. This case has been filed at The Hague since 2008, yet Friends of the Earth and these farmers prefer to have the verdict of an international court over the Nigerian court. Why? Simply because the nigerian judicial system is a news house that publishes corrupt verdicts. There was a time courthouses were the last hope of the common man. Not anymore. Thank God a farmer got justice out of them, atleast. In nigeria, your guess is as good as mine. Honestly this nation needs revolutionary cleansing. Frawzey |
I weep for my dear nation. Oil spillage in the Niger Delta and ecological effects. In a sane society, the government would take Shell to court for causing somuch havoc. But what do we have here, individuals backed with NGOs are doing the job of the government. BP is to pay a whopping $4bn to the US for the same spillage while our own government is reluctant in taking drastic action against these oil coys. One would have thought because the President is from Niger Delta, he would fight for his people...yet the same ol' sh-it goes on. Its sad. Really sad. Cos these coys would still ride roughshod over the Niger Delta locals. Sad news, I must say. I hope they appeal the courts decision because this judgement is supposed to set the tone for various spillages across Africa where these oil coys deprive indigenes of their means of survival. Eawealth: SMH. So for your mind Christianity is a religion now. Anyway keep using your brain and I pray this your brain doesn't fail you soon because I can smell a kid talking.Bro, let sleeping dogs lie. Do we need to start another argument this year? Let's be mature for once now haba! Na beg I dey beg una. So far its been smooth, let's not use katakata to marshup the thread like before. Frawzey |
Eawealth: I was doing a search on Google and i always come across this and it has been disturbing me and it further confirmed my first ever post on this thread if you zoom back. Furthermore, thanks to those traders who have been using the word "GAMES and PROBABILITY" lately and I tell you this is not the kind of business that suit me. Read onWhy would u use google to make your confirmation about ur spiritual "doubts" on Forex? Go on your knees and ask God personally about it. If God tells you based on His word that its sinful, quit! This google fever all over the place sef. . Bro, google can support any claim - right or wrong.elewedu: I have always pondered about this too in forex....now that it is obvious jpy pairs are rallying, what if 80 percent of the traders with a particular broker take a bullish position, and all their trades turn out positive, where is the broker going to get the money to pay the winning sides since 80percent is winnning against the 20percent loosin...does it mean that the broker may go broke??I wanna clarify what Naijababe said. Let's assume a lot of clients are bullish on Dow Jones, your broker would purchase Dow Futures in the market to offset all or part of the risk. Atimes, clients offset each other because 1000 clients might be bullish on Euro and 1600 might be bearish. Your broker just acts like the middle man who makes money on the small margin on both ur orders and pockets the loss...especially those who don't use stops . So they shouldn't go broke, only if their CEO is a scammer like Bernie Madoff.Lastweek, I talked about the spike in Euro. The spike com shele finish but man no dey around pc to pull the trigger Catch ya later. Frawzey |

“As a politician, so many obstacles will be on your way. We politicians will come in front of you and be lying. We know that you know we are lying but we will continue until we get what we want."Funny but true. Frawzey |
taharqa: This worries me too. Even if you (the CBN) say u hv to keep d MPR at 12% cos of Inflation concern etc, while dont you force the commercial banks not to go beyond a +4 or 5 percentage point as Effective interest rate to ordinary businesses? The interest rates bn operatd currently by banks in Nigeria are very hostile to businesses..You have said it all. 15-19% is still manageable, although its quite high. Those who took a loan from banks to execute government contracts are also affected because governments payments take quite a long time and these banks don't care. Yet these contractor create jobs. So don't blame contractors when they charge government N40bn for a project of N26bn because they know what interest would be paid on it. Sanusi is just... I don't even know what to say. Lol. Frawzey |
@Tusky and Koruji, I don't trust them both - Sanusi and Soludo. Soludo allowed people like Akingbola to enrich themselves from bad loans and paddy-paddy connection. Sanusi still keeps interest rates at 12%. Retail/commercial banks lend from the CBN at 12% and lend to SMEs at 26%. Yet, Sanusi keeps saying government should reduce unemployment, while he's making it difficult for young entrepreneurs to be self-employed. He talks a lot. Frawzey |
Op, where and how did he lambast GEJ? SMH Uk's economy is on the decline. Their GDP is at -0.3% while ours is at 6.7%. So Cameron doesn't have any right to lambast our country. If not for the mess they created, we should be at par with Singapore by now. Frawzey |
Deep Sight: That sum is pretty low.Let's agree that the sum is "pretty low" - in your words. Now what has he (Olubolade Caleb) done with the pretty low 500m? You guys shouldn't blame GEJ here at all. The Minister carries all the blame. Frawzey. |
OP, let me give you a cheesy analogy. U are in an exam hall, an objective question says how much was left in the government coffers as at May 2007? A) $67 billion B) $43 billion C) $20 billion D) $31 billion You don't know the answer. Let's assume the person sitting on your right is Ezekwesili, the guy on ur left is Maku. Ezekwesili tells u the answer is A; Maku says its B. Your name is Sincere Nigerian, right? As a sincere nigerian, whose answer would you believe and tick? Keep deceiving yourselves! Disclaimer: This is just a cheesy analogy. Exam malpractice is a punishable offence! Frawzey |
Is it that African leaders are cursed or what? First, it was Alakija who made money from the oil well IBB gave to her. Now its the daughter of the President of Angola. I mean, can't leaders stop exploiting their citizens? Why has the desire for ill-gotten wealth eaten deep into Africans as a whole? Can't we have Forbes billionaires who made their money without "scam"? When Gadaffi's account was checked, he was declared to be the richest man in the world, so was Mubarak. Yet, some dudes would blame the West for the penury that spreads across the land. Frawzey |
Fact: Zambia's goalkeeper has scored more goals in 2013 than Fernando Torres Frawzey |
I don't know what goes down in the state but here are the things I've observed: 1) Freedom of information- I mean, this government is open about the both the money allocated to project and money stolen. Unlike OBJ who hoodwinked people to vote for him without real information about how he spent money during his first term. GEJ's administration has been open enough. Ofcourse an informed citizen would be able to cast his vote based on the information and details he has about GEJ's administration, should he wish to go for a second term. If u feel he's done well based on how he spends money, u'd give him ur vote and if not, vote for someone else - because ur much more informed. 2)He started electoral reforms in Nigeria. This is the bedrock of democracy and he changed the tide, kudos. Note: Road construction and so on are normal things a government should do. Do you praise your child because he goes to school everyday? No. But u praise him when he goes to school and gets good grades. A government that builds road, puts street light on a bridge is doing what's normal whichever way you see it, she deserves your praise when she creates job, taps into agriculture, enhance health programmes, fights corruption to the uttermost to name a few. Nigerians, let's widen our scope and demand the best from our leaders because they are paid much more than the best leaders in the world. Frawzey |
