Leo Messi , Manuel Neuer or Cristiano Ronaldo ? Who is the best in the world? |
..........I am saddened anytime I read this story. but the truth is I can't resist the novel. Standd, you are a genius!!........... |
Ronaldo and Messi have scored 36 goals between them in all matches this season, with both laying claim to be the world's greatest player. The pair are on the 23-man shortlist for the 2014 Fifa Ballon d'Or, awarded to the best player in world football. Ronaldo has been described as "almost perfect" by compatriot team-mate Ricardo Carvalho. But Argentina coach Gerardo Martino says his heart "lies with Messi". The two forwards are the only players to have been named the world's top male player in the last six years, with Ronaldo winning the award in 2008 and 2013, and Messi receiving the honour in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. Messi also won the Golden Ball after being named player of the tournament at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, where Argentina finished runners-up. Messi v Ronaldo on the world stage. Both players had their case for winning the Ballon d'Or put forward by international colleagues at news conferences last Monday. Portugal defender Carvalho, who spent three years playing alongside Ronaldo at Real Madrid, said of the 29-year-old: "When you see him, he is almost perfect." The Monaco centre-back added. "He is strong, good in the air, fit always. It is difficult to say what he is missing. He wants always more and more, even in training. "I am a little bit biased, but I think he is the best. All of us expect him to win the Ballon d'Or. We are so proud of him." But Argentina coach Martino said he would vote for 27-year-old Messi, whom he also coached at Barcelona for a season before leaving in May. Martino said: "You can't take out of the deciding process the fact that I am Argentinian, and my heart lies with Messi. I am not the best person to judge. I cannot separate sentiment from my objective decision. Whatever season Messi has had on footballing grounds, I would still vote for him." The pair played at Old Trafford where both were substituted before the start of the second half,a match Portugal won over Argentina by a last minute lone goal. Ronaldo - scorer of 18 goals in 10 league games for Real Madrid this season - was part of a Manchester United side who beat Messi's Barcelona 1-0 in a Champions League semi-final second leg for a 2-1 aggregate victory before going on to defeat Chelsea in the final. It is a shortlist of 23 men but the two are the most outstanding. Which of the two do you think deserves the Ballon dOr'? Give your points and make us convinced.lol!!! # p.s - LIKE if MESSI is winning. -SHARE if RONALDO is winning.

THE INDEPENDENCE SQUARE WITH THE INDEPENDENCE ARCH,ACCRA,GHANA The Independence Square is the second largest city square in the world after China’s Tiananmen Square. The Square, called the Black Star Square was built in 1961 by Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah to honour the visit of Queen Elizabeth II. It is famous in the history of Ghana as it is the site for Ghana’s annual Independence Day Parade every 6th of March and other national events. Built to accommodate 30,000 people, it is the second largest city square in the world. The square boasts of two monuments; the Independence Arch and the Black Star Monument also known as the Black Star Gate. A statue of a soldier faces the Independence Arch; and symbolizes the countless Ghanaians who lost their lives fighting for Ghana’s Independence. The Independence Square, situated in Accra, is also the only location for the inaugural ceremonies of Ghana’s President-elects. It is a symbol of the bloodshed and fight of the people against oppressor’s rule and serves as a constant reminder of Ghana’s indomitable patriotic spirit and the love of the people for their motherland. ref: etvnews

Ever since I became a registered NL'er,I have been thinking about a game to always keep myself and others active on NL free from the usual bashings/e-wars ( especially Ghana-Nigeria bashing judging from what I see here everyday) LOL .An idea just came to my mind. It may seem too shallow but I bet it gonna be interesting, educative and all fun. The GAME is "POST A RANDOM PHOTO OF WHEREVER YOU FIND YOURSELF" be it your city, town, village, school, church, internet cafe, mall, factory, office, beach, tourist site, etc. Game guide: 1. You must caption your picture. -name of place,state/region and country 2. You SHOULDN'T necessarily be in the photo. 3. You can post as many photos as you can. 4.Any special fact/story attached to photo is warmly welcomed 5. No form of DERAILING pls!! ![]() lets SET the ball ROLLING!!! |

emmysoftyou:what I was trying to put across is that,by the matrilineal system of the akans for instance, the child is from the mother's abusua(family) and thus her hometown. but the father has full control over the child and so he has to name the child. what I refuted from your post was the part where I saw you typed something like or near-" children in Ghana bear their mothers' surnames"...its never true for both the Patrilineal and matrilineal systems...all in all, fathers own all children in Ghana and have the sole responsibility to name them whatever name they like except by Law/in special cases. |
emmysoftyou:my bro, what you heard about Ghana is totally false. though some practise matrilineal family system, the father holds full responsibility of the children. |
