Sinistami:I've never claimed that Igbo is saint. I'm just saying the fact. Ijaws made many mistakes in the past ranging from betraying the Biafran soldiers in their land to protect them, the abandon property saga to the exclusion of indigenous Igbos in Rivers state in Rivers state politics and encouraging the Igbo identity denial. 1 Like |

Amah70: Guy it's not true. But on a serious note, who is uncivil here? Imposters like you and Nairaland prompted whatever action or attitude I've displayed here. You know that your attitude is the most uncivil here. Show me the civil and right thinking man that behave the way you behave, show me the civil man that will open his mouth and say that his fellow man who he does not know is running a prostitution business, show me the civil man who opens his mouth and says that another man's land thrives only on prostitution and brothel business, show me the civil man who is repeating one same old story for more than 7yrs today, show me the civil man that will deny his identity and claim another man's land just to spread his political propaganda? Oga your parents should go back to your schools and ask for the refund of money they wasted on your education. You are a confirmed lunatic. And leave Orlu out of this your madness. |

Sinistami: Ok, good for you. Was it not an Ijaw man as a governor that changed many Igbo community names to something that is meaningless in Igbo language (e.g Obigbo to Oyigbo) inorder to claim that Igbo has no foot in Rivers State. Thank God that today everything is backfiring. |

rtdCivilservant: Oga, Orlu has never been neglected since 1999. Haven't you seen any video of Orlu? Leave Berem, that's her style always seeking for attention. She always like joining where the heat is high, if majority of people here say that Orlu is neglected that's where she will belong. If the same majority turn and say Orlu is the best, you will still see her praising Orlu. She always like following majority, she is not outstanding and has no proper direction. Okporo has many good roads and it's fast developing because of many government properties sited there. 2 Likes |

Sinistami: Story for the gods. In the old Rivers State when ijaws were holding power, did they give work/job to anybody bearing Igbo name? How was Ikwerre and other Igbo groups in Rivers State treated? The attitude of ijaws and maltreatment of Igbos from Igbo clans in the old Rivers state by the ijaws catalysed the Igbo identity denial. Don't come here and tell us rubbish, nobody is a child here. In the early 1990s I was living in portharcourt with my parents. |

FACE: The guy is not one of us. He is a paid agent from the west paid to distract and destroy Rochas' achievement. Now that Rochas is no longer in power he has channelled all his energy in denigrating Owerri. Painting Owerri a brothel city while you and I know that Owerri does not in any way near Lagos, portharcourt, Calabar, Abuja, Kaduna or even Birnin koni in Niger republic in brothel activities. He's typing from the script given to him by his paid masters. The worst of it is that this guy is not from Imo and I've unknownly to him met him in person. Graysons: But truth be said, Rivers state is not only owned by the igboid groups. Ogoni or Ijaw man should be allowed to rule. I have the feeling that Ijaw man as a governor of Rivers state will work for the Igbos and right the wrong. He will like to change the impression that Ijaw and Igbo are enemies. He will like to prove the Igbos that the Ijaws hold nothing against them. All the other tribes in Delta and Cross river states allow Igbos (Ifeanyi Okowa and sen. Lyel Imoke) to rule them. So Igbos/Igboid groups in Rivers State should replicate such kind gesture and allow either an Ijaw or Ogoni man to take over from Gov. Wike. |

Logan23: Ijaws like claiming people and people's land. Whatever they see in Bayelsa state, southern parts of Delta, Rivers, and Edo including the riverine areas of Ondo and Akwa ibom states even when they are speaking different languages with them is ijaw. How can you say people who speak language different from yours but same with another is your people? Ijaws are the real land grabbers in the south and whenever you attempt to tell them that these people are your people they term you land grabbers, people who went as far as claiming Ndoki, Opobo and Bonny in Rivers State, Ekpeye and Ogba in Rivers and Bayelsa states. This their attitude is the reason why they are hostile with their neighbors. They have fought with the itsekiri, Urhobo, Ikwerre and Ilaje people of Ondo state, they have attempted and threatened Edo people with war. They use oil deposit, rivers and state boundary as yardsticks for determining their Ijaw ethnicity. Any Urhobo, Igbo, Benin or Yoruba town or land surrounded by Rivers with oil deposits is assumed by them to be Ijaw land. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Amah70: Guy, the grammar is correct. What do you know? In some cases you don't observe the rule of Concord which states that plural verbs must go with plural noun. And stop bringing Orlu in this your picture of madness. You are not from Orlu, you are an imposter. Your opinion here does not represent the option of the vast majority of Orlu people. Orlu zone has gotten it's fair share of imo state development and properties. Imo state schools of nursing are located in Amaigbo and Okporo, the immigration training school is located in Umuowa, Imo state University teaching hospital is located in Umuna/Owerri-ebeiri, Imo international market is located at Umuna. And there other new University facilities located in Orlu zone which were closed down by Ihedioha. How many higher institutions are located in Owerri compared to the ones in portharcourt?. Almost all the higher institutions in Rivers State are located within the greater portharcourt metropolis. Stop this your childish nonsense, because it is capable of attracting hatred to free-minded Orlu people from the other indigenes of Imo state who may feel that Orlu people are envious of Owerri development and progress. Every Orlu son and daughter sees Owerri as his second home, at least 48 - 53% of properties in Owerri are still owned by people from the same Orlu zone. 2 Likes |

Grgton: Hope is very confused. I wish this man will not continue beyond 2023. When I saw the caption, Urban renewal, I thought he is going to take it to suburbs around Owerri and also extend it to Orlu and Okigwe. There's nothing Urban renewal in this movement apart from destruction of the existing beautiful roundabouts and introduce whatever he thinks is ok. Imo should go beyond this type of politics it's pissing. What is wrong in creating more new cities like new Owerri phase II or another layout in Owerri? Government should be for continuity not for all round overhaul. Destroying existing things to build new ones on the same space is wrong. And also abandoning a project of previous administration and start a similar project is totally wrong. If Imo continues like this in time to come the state will look horrible due to abandoned projects, waste of funds, lack of progress and expansion. I have seen a case where Hope demolished an existing hospital to build a mall on the same space, demolished a tunnel instead of reinforcement which the demolition is still ongoing for several months despite the claim that the tunnel was not strong. All these are waste of Imo state limited fund. If Hope goes down tomorrow another person that will take over from him might start demolishing his malls to build hospitals on the same space and claim that it was hospitals that were there but demolished by Hope, he might equally destroy the roads and return the roundabouts with the claim that the roundabouts were the initial plans. Hope should be called to order. Imo state government is not his birthright, it's something Imolites asked him to hold for them just for a while soon they will collect it back from him and give it to another person. He can't stay there forever. 1 Like |

modsfucker: Clap for yourself. This is what you lots know how to do, writing rubbish in the name of Igbo so as to attract rubbish and negative reactions to the Igbos. A LGA chairman or a governor has no right to say whether his people or land belong to Biafra or not, it is only a referendum which is the real voice of the people that can tell the true wishes of the people. Forget about all these shouts, it's not today that we've hearing things like this. In Nigeria, people are more afraid of Fulanis and Fulani in power they can kill their own blood just to please the fulani. It's only Igbo youths and ijaw youths that can stand and agitate for whatever they believe without fear or favor even when they are being killed by the military. And mind you, Igbos have never taken Biafran agitation beyond Igboland. Anywhere you see Biafran agitation, it's done by Igbos indigenous to that area. Igbos don't encroach into another man's land like your people. It's only uninformed people like you do not know that apart from southeast, Igbos are in states like Rivers, Delta, Cross river, Benue, Bayelsa, Akwa ibom and even in Edo state. In Rivers, they occupy places like Oyigbo, Omuma, Etche, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni, Ahoada east and west, Opobo, some part of Bonny and Eleme and even the 4 LGAs of Ikwerre. In Delta State, Igbos occupy Aniocha north and south, Oshimili north and south, Ndokwa east and west, Ika northeast and south and Ukwuani. In Cross river, they are found in places like Abi, Obubra, Yala etc In Benue state, Igbos are found in Ado, Oju, Obi, Okpokwu and in a very small number in Ogbadibo In Bayelsa state, they are found in Yenagoa (Ekpeye clans) and Sagbama (Ogba clans) In Akwa ibom, Igbo is found in Ukanafun (Ndoki clan), Ikot Abasi (Opobo clan) and in some other places. In Edo state, they can be seen in Orhionmwon (many Ika clans). |
