I am thinking that the Mod pushing the activities of Okezie Ikpeazu to the front page has been compromised.

No amount of propaganda will save Ikpeazu from the tribunal.

Abia will not be Ikpeazu, Abia ga wu ndi mbu

Oga don't say what you don't know. Alex Otti can not get it because Ikeazu truly won the election.

Beside, Abians are comfortable with PDP for now.

I stay close to Imo state, and i can testify that the man is trying for his state that was why he got re-elected by his learned people.

We all know that all these criticisms are coming out of envy, they want to tarnish his image just to kill his presidential aspiration. But that can't happen, God is greater than them.

Looll, I know this is what he will list now.

Kaduna- Capital of Northern Region since time immemorial.

Kano- the economic nerve center of Northen Nigeria with 19 states.

Jos- Capital of old Middle Belt region and still capital of old plateau and current plataue state.

Maiduguri is older than Awka and its the only city in the state with life.

Katsina have no other city to channel development.

Minna is home to two former presidents of Nigeria, bigger than the entire Eastern region but with small economic activity and few or no industries.

Awka was a sleepy village before the creation of Anambra state, Awkas was destroyed during the civil war, the only Federal presence in Awka is UNIZIK but Awka has better standard of living and good economic activities than cities that predates her.

Awka have Onitsha, Nnewi and Ekwulobia to contest for meager fed allocation yet Awka is good, secure and decent to live it.
hmmm, some people has not been to anywhere but will always like to say what they don't know. Who even told you that katsina has only katsina city, what of Funtua which has the size of Awka but has more infrastructural development than Awka. Beside Katsina and Funtua, katsina still has Daura and malumfashi.

Even Bornu state has Baga, Bama, Bui beside maiduguri only that it does not have much population compare to its landmass.

Abagworo in as much i always like to respect your views, i totally disagree with you here. Every nation has their uniqueness and every city of the world can't look like New York, Chicago, Hongkong and Tokyo. Rome, Madrid, Lisbon, London, Berlin and Bonn are not in that form but in their unique forms. Even your said Igbotic building was copied from Germany by our Igbo travellers and it emanated in early 1990s which replaced our initial 1 storey public buildings.

Those your wished buildings will come soon but will take some times. Today, nigerian cities like Marina, Abuja, and Ph where we see highrise buildings use them mainly for office purposes.

We will develop to this but it will take time. For now, our cites remain the best in Nigeria in terms of housing due to these Igbotic buildings.

When I said that abagworo is evil, demonic, envious, frustrated and cancerous you guys didn't believe me.

Until abagworo is caught and stoned to death this will not stop. This is why I usually have problem with that old jobless hag. Whenever I sight that guy is as though I have sighted faeces. I detest that old dirty wanderer with utmost sincerity.

How can one condemn and call 3-4-5 residential buildings bad whereas PH he is talking about is at least 85% shanties, filled with the Ikwerre-type dirty low bungalows.

Every corner of PH has an element of disgusting rural outlook except maybe old GRA and new GRA. FACT!

The 3-4-5 residential blocks as seen in Onitsha and Enugu remains the best and most majestic low and middle class housing in Nigeria today if you are a traveller that have seen other parts of Nigeria. The comparison is like night and day.

I have some pictures of most neighbourhoods in PH, will share it soon on the imo thread to embarrass that I.dI.ot. tongue
This is not what we want you to say, he only made his view.
Must u sound like this everytime, you always like to incite division.

The 3,4,5 and 6 storey buildings are seen everywhere in Igboland not only in Onitsha and Enugu. It's seen in Aba, Owerri, Orlu, Umuahia, Abakiliki, Nnewi, Okigwe, Nsukka, Afikpo, Awka, Ohaofia, Mgbidi, Ekwurobia, Orji-river, Oyi Igbo and even in PH.

If you have problem with Abagworo settle it within yourselves, stop looking for a chance to downgrade the respect of the young man on a public forums like this. It's inhumane.

I really don't know why you rate PH so high. Ph was once a garden city but not anymore. Recently, I compared Ph and Enugu in terms of size, the difference is marginal in favour of Ph. And Ph doesn't have the pattern of house zoning you find in Enugu. In Ph what you see are disordered mixture of bungalow, duplex, storey building...even plenty of your so called igbotic building.
You can't find this type of layout in Ph, developed by individuals...the houses are almost at the same level.

https://artsymoments.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/2015-05-06-11.47.24-1.jpg
Enugu

The only place you can find such pattern in PH are in very few government layout, developed by government. Am quite certain you don't know Enugu very well, you can't erect such storey houses in places like trans Ekulu, or erect duplex in Achara layout, that's the zoning pattern in Enugu, you can't find in Ph. Ph is Economical more advanced than Enugu, more congested and more populated, but these factors coupled with poor planning made Ph chaotic and it eventually lost its garden city theme.

Now to your usually 'igbotic building' and 'solid office block looking houses' as you put it ...I also advocate for such houses you desire, but there are factors that that bring about such houses or make developers go for lower storey houses with corrugated roofing sheets...on several occasions I discussed with my cousin, an architect, he will always tell me that such style of roofing you usually describe is very costly to maintain. Secondly, considering scarcity of water in most part of the east especially Enugu, the need to collect rain water requires such roof. Thirdly, taking the storey building to 16-20 levels will require elevators, to be powered and maintained by how many residents, how may people can afford it. I think developers will begin to make such investment for middle class when we have stable power, otherwise such buildings in nigeria are mainly for bussiness and government purposes. Fourthly, most of those buildings you see in Lagos, and Abuja are government houses or private companies, don't tell me you want to similar architectural design of the new Enugu secretariat or that of Golden Royale replicated in every part of Enuguhuh Fiftly, have you taken a look at other cities, big Countries like France has cities with similar pattern...

https://joinusinfrance.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Marseille-France-1.jpg
Marseille, France

london has similar building pattern...

https://www.independent.co.uk/incoming/article9231345.ece/alternates/w620/web-suburbs-alamy.jpg
North London

You probably don't understand Urban planning, and how cities evolve. Those houses you're seeing will either be redesigned or destroyed to build a more contemporary architecture as the city evovle...below is beginning part of Ogui Road Enugu, this area was once lined by archaic low houses with brown roofings, some can still be found there. But at a rapid rate, these houses are being replaced by more modern houses, in future it's probably skyscrapers that will replace these ones being built now...

www.nairaland.com/attachments/2388147_20150507160415_jpege3e8f72339db735e5b19a4f1917572b9

Here's a new house replacing those low houses, flanking the house under construction are those old houses,...that's the evolution...and it's a gradual process. As the economy improves so will our architecture and other aspects of our cities.

Bro, relax we all know that Oguta result was rigged in favour of PDP just like Oru East that gave them 1,000 plus after the re-run instead of the initial 48,000 votes.

Pls don't talk like that, you and i can make it here.

We don't have much Abians here and we've allowed our state to be painted with bad names which we are not.

But together we can change that wrong perceptive here on Nairaland. Abia is well blessed in all endeavours, from entertainment to politics, history, banking, sports, commerce, banking, tourism, industry, education. Infact we are everywhere but because of our carefree attitude people are under-rating us.

Our state is one of the most developed states in Nigeria. Atleast in the whole of SE and SS our state is the only state that has two advance developed cities many small towns.

Alex Otti is the best for Abia State:
As a retired banker, I know what it takes to attain the height that Alex Otti attained as a former Managing Director of one of Nigeria’s leading banks. That achievement is possibly the best preparation for the arduous task of running the affairs of a state. I want to assure Abia people that their future is more assured if they give Alex Otti the chance to lead them as their governor. I have no doubt that Otti will transform Abia in a matter of years
cool
We've agreed to erroneously give Alex Otti our support in a peaceful matter, but hope tomorrow your people will not say that they were the ones that give Abian a governor just they did in Rochas and Imo state.

Beside, all the aspirants are Abians, whoever that wins will have our support.
