Enough of this SA Chidinma shit,y'all can go n die.To hell with SA and the lady |
Deadlytruth:OGORI was initially part of kukuruku district when it was administered from fugar and then shifted to kabba. It should be noted that prior to 1918 kukuruku district was administered as part of the north( under ilorin then latter kabba province) and not as part of Benin province, the Nupe held sway in that axis around that era and not Benin,so the British included that axis under the Ilorin/ kabba province. But when the north south boundary was to be readjusted in 1918. Kukuruku district was then removed to be under the Benin province. Ogori-magongo was then taken out and placed with igbirra division under kabba province . The reason for taking OGORI out was that OGORI initially wanted to carve out a separate akokogbangiri district removed from kukuruku district( Akoko-edo along with some Akoko-yoruba and igbirra towns). In which ogori will be the capital. They made efforts and initially got the agreement of the various towns and approval to do this. But there was strong opposition from the newly created ohinoyi of ebira stool and the appointed monarch attah Ibrahim ( who was very close to the British), he opposed this move and worked against it,he convinced the Akoko towns to pull out of the agreement, the Akoko Yoruba led by Ikare-Akoko pulled out to join owo instead, then the Akoko-edo towns gradually started pulling out to retain their positions in kukuruku district, leaving only bekuma and ososo still in support of OGORI, bekuma and ososo too eventually pulled out back to kukuruku, seeing OGORI not making any headway, this left ogori with magongo that tagged along completely stranded and isolated, the attah larama Ibrahim then made an arrangement with OGORI to join igbirrà division with the igbirra towns that OGORI actually ancestrally controlled such as obeihira, ituahi,Ukpogoro, odenku etc( they all had originally ogori chiefs ruling these villages, their current chiefs are still of ogori descent).OGORI agreed to this arrangement then joined igbirra but after that the attah through British influence excised control of these villages from OGORIs control, leaving ogori with no influence and as political smithereens. Ogori tried to go back to kukuruku district and appealed to the elders of kukuruku to use their influence to bring them back but it did not work, the attah had closer ties with the British, this eventually made OGORI to fall under igbirra division, though the attah never had any authority over OGORI ever.OGORI was left virtually isolated and on its own, it started working since then to break free from igbirra division and be fully independent politically,it finally got this decades later with the creation of its own local government. Therefore, in summary, the claim that ogori was part of Benin province in the colonial era is false but ogori was part of the kukuruku district when it was under the kabba province |

TopBanter:Do you know it's somehw true that Yorubas were responsible for the buhari atrocities. This is because they wholly supported Buharis evil regime, they even confess it online and claim igbos were insulting the Fulani unjustly. They push, covered, supported buharis evil regime |
TopBanter:Ghanaians for your info are mostly in the southsouth,pH,Calabar. |
What good job agents are available in Lagos now.( for job connects and linking) Those on the island and mainland. Their names and addresses or contacts. |
Deadlytruth:For clarifications on ogori origins, the truth is that ogoris cannot exactly tell their exact origins just like say the core Benin people in Benin city can't tell you their exact origins or say the Igbo, even the Yoruba, this is because though ogori is small today, ogori is a root tribe or ethnic group like for example the Benin etc and not a subethnic or derived from any other tribe per say,the tribe of OGORI is oko-( pronounced as OorKor), while their towns of location are ogori and magongo just the way the Yoruba or any other tribe as several towns etc.Ogori/ magongo tribe is oko-.Ogori language as no parent and is not a dialect of any language,so ogori/ oko cannot be said to be a subethnic group like the say the okpameri or Uneme whose language is derived from Benin. or edoid.ogori history is very ancient and complex and no historian as been able to have a full discovery of its exact origins. There are atleast 3 very detailed books on ogori history but non was able to conclude on the exact origins of OGORI. Now for magongo, magongo is fully and wholly same with OGORI, they are also oko.we are the same people and blood brothers. Ogori and magongo are composed of a variety of clans, who arrived at different times. All the clans of magongo except for one are extensions from OGORI.This exception clan happens to be the royal clan of magongo today even though they arrived very late in about the early 1700s.This clan led by a powerfulman unagogo( from were the name magongo comes from),due to their late arrival chose to maintain a separate administration. This clan then had an issue with the leader of OGORI at the time, caused by a daughter of unagogo, who married the then leader of OGORI odeyon.this led to a serious rancour ,unagogo assassinated the odeyon the leader of OGORI then, his brother inlaw,OGORI didn't care much cos the leader odeyon was a ruthless tyrant and they were happy to be done with him. But unagogo refused to release his head for royal burial, this angered ogori and the clan uduako were driven out of OGORI ,they then went to settle with ebiras at okengwe. They were there for many years, until the Nupe wars, were they allied with the ebira,to war ogori, ogori was also at war with the Nupes at this time, this disruption allowed them to return close to their previous settlements near the main OGORI ,were they are today,These events of being driven out by ogori and their alliance with ebira created enemity between this clan and the rest of OGORI. These issues were later resolved and peace agreements settled, some other clans sympathetic to their plight later went to live with them. But because of this events the magongo royal authority especially still hold that resentment and always tries to claim that they aren't part of the rest of OGORI and do their festivals and other stuffs separately. This is what makes OGORI and magongo different otherwise they are fully one and same |
Deadlytruth:The igarra in their history also claim that they met some groups called anufua, andiva and anakoni, which were giants, dwarfs and the last group anakoni ( which I believe is OGORI) ,ogori call themselves people of akoni or people of ako( pronounced uku by the ebiras),igarra claim they were led by a man called uno from where they got the name etuno( land of uno) ,I believe that this uno is actually onu which ogoris also have in its history that was the first remembered man to lead them and the oldest clan in OGORI is called onu( ogoris are also called onumu,by ekpe) |
Deadlytruth:Most of the titles and festivals in Akoko-edo and even igbirra were borrowed from OGORI etc, ukpe, the oke maiden festivals,EMA masquerade, the guitarlike instruments women play( called okitoroko in ogori),some titles including uboro,OTARO( called otaru in Akoko-edo, wrongly thought to be of Nupe origin),oseku or (ohieku in ebira). |
Deadlytruth:OGORI language is not in anyway a dialect of Yoruba, its not even a yoruboid language, it's a stand alone language ( you can Google it), its a full fledged language called oko not related to Yoruba at all. Many modern ogorians like to say it's a dialect of Yoruba to foist on themselves Yoruba identity because they realise we probably have no tribal relations.the claim that ogori is ancestrally from ile-ife is speculative and is probably false. So here is the thing. Ogori is a very very ancient tribe and the real origin and background of ogori is in reality largely unknown ,lost or shrouded in secrecy. But going by some history books written by indigenes one mentioned that OGORI origin started from ile-ife, then they went to Benin, then as far as idomaland then returned after many years through ajaokuta, atte,ikpeshi- then through okpe, entering owo in yorubaland and ikpesi- akoko( yorubaland) before finally going on to settling were they are today.I posit than ile-ife claim is just to give ogori a beginning, but they might actually in reality have started migrating from the jukun/ idomoid area. The other claims ogori is akokogbangiri, native to its immediate environs(that is part of the aboriginal Akoko-edo groups). From the above summaries,my conclusions being a native is that the first OGORIs( because ogori has an older clan which are acclaimed as the host group) are actually aboriginal,an autochonos group indigenous to Akoko-edo, igbirra zone, and were among the first ancient settlers there, along with the uneme (before the main stock of igbirra and Benin migrants), then they were later joined by migrating stock from the east (probably a somewhat igbirra/jukunoid stock- though ogorians deny any relationship with the igbirra) ,before the arrivals of Benin migrants to the zone. It will interest you to note that, many of the okpameri towns actually have aboriginal roots from ogori,eg somorika/ semolika and onumu are originally from ogori before they were joined by Benin stock, bekuma( otase and ubelen) are also originally ogori clans, lampese also has ogori groups( akusumeme),ogori clans are also present in ososo( the ani, which is recognised in ososo has the oldest clan),they are also in makeke and ojah( these one migrated to ojah, they aren't aborigines),ekpe are also aboriginally part of OGORI |
Deadlytruth:The same issues OGORI is facing, many of fellow modern ogorians think they have Yoruba roots because of their Yoruba surnames, but it's only a recent phenomenon, OGORI are actually the aborigines of the Akoko-edo, igbirra zone |
care4you:On what criteria do you make your conclusions, Abuja is thriving very well |
phantomxx:The truth is,the LAGOS seaport is the assurance for the north. They are afraid, a thriving sea port in the east, might pose danger to them in a crises situation. They feel safer with the Yoruba than the East, the Biafra seccessation with a thriving seaport is their ever present nightmare. |
care4you:Abuja is getting there and probably already there ,the seaport is the only thing saving LAGOS nothing else |
Biodun556:This is another Yoruba lie that will never be allowed to fly,you Yorubas want to use lies to change generational history, all of LAGOS was the capital, there was no place out of bounds in LAGOS for the colonial and federal government. It's like saying only aso rock is the capital of Nigeria not Abuja or the whole FCT. You should quit lying The whole Lagos, down to Sango,up to ikorodu was Nigerias capital |
CodeTemplar:That is part of population control, the migrants from the north needs to be stopped. What am essentially is that Nigeria needs to start having a focus on population control generally in all ways |
God bless cardinal onaiyekan |
MossadAgent:But in the case of dangote cement, don't you think, Nigeria paying the opportunity cost for a Nigerian company to dominate Africa is worth it? Nigeria to pay higher but it's tentacles dominate Africa,it might pay of longterm |
DevilsEqual:You are a lier, these Yoruba lies will never ever fly. FG made LAGOS not Awolowo |
DevilsEqual:Yorubas have no more impact in LAGOS as any other tribe. FG made LAGOS All Nigerians have sustained the legacy |
Seefinish:Lokoja was never anything, lugard only stayed in lokoja at a point as he stayed in zungeru in Niger state |
LAGOS was capital for 77 years,Calabar was capital of southern protectorate for just 6 years. Like comparing an elderly man to a toddler.haba mana. Abuja as been capital for 33 years and is doing better than Lagos already |
After several ECONOMIC experts have been preaching all these years about how dangote refinery will transform NIG |
Manager001:Have always maintained this |
Skooltynz:Yes,I wish we could do this, its the easiest solution for NIG |
Jogs1900:The major tribes are the big contributory factor in Nigerias stagnation due to their bad cultural practices and issues |
Skooltynz:The mention Nigeria is deceiving a lot people and enabling cover up of inadequacies. I mention tribes because a lot of issues in Nigeria is cultural, not political, and until we deal with does cultural issues which is embedded in tribes we will be wasting time. |
The APC,( Yoruba/ Hausa-fulani) communist agenda. This is their guiding light and goal |
Manager001:The 3 major tribes of Nigeria |
Population control should be an urgent matter for Nigerian tribes, most tribes are just populated for nothing. Producing nonentities to the system. The various Nigerian cultures that emphasises marriage should be eroded. Individuality should be encouraged People should be encouraged to marry late It is time for Nigeria to produce more of goods and services instead of children. If this cannot be done, then most Nigerian tribes should forget about the uplifting of the black race. Nigeria will be forever be a disgrace to the WORLD A smear, and a mockery. Tough decisions shouldn' be only ECONOMIC but cultural. Nigerian culture especially of the major tribes is the Achilles heel of Nigeria. The major tribes of Nigeria are Nigerias weakness |
