This is crazy, nurses are the foundation of the hospital, nothing works without the nurses, and yet they're treated like they're unimportant, paid peanuts compared to doctors who are still not paid what they're worth, like uneducated maids. No other health care personnel is more exposed to patients' dirt, filth and diseases, like nurses, they ensure recovery is going as planned, monitor and nurse back to health, I don't understand why an entry level nurse with a bachelors is paid a little just above the minimum wage in government owned hospitals, no need to even mention private establishments. This strike is not good for patients, but it is quite necessary, this isn't the time for Nigerians to start talking about cheap school fees, the fees is no longer cheap even in federal universities, no need saying Nigerian medical practitioners love money more than service, I am yet to find anyone who loves poverty, and constant worries of how to fund a decent lifestyle, the basics, rather, it is the time to understand and support them, this cannot go on. In a few years time, many of these nurses and other medical personnel will be in debt to the government, in millions, this will be from the student loan accumulated over the course of study, if this shitty pay Is still the standard by then, Nigerians can expect to see empty hospitals and maybe a nurse to patient ratio of 1:50, never before seen migration to even African countries who pay better than Nigeria, the figures being touted now will be the target to reduce emigration to, politicians and policy makers, their kins, will not suffer the consequences, but you and me ☹️. |
originalNuxx:You plan to drive it aggressively, I'd say to abort mission, i never advise anyone to go for Turbocharged engines, especially if old, this vehicle you speak of was made in 2014, the turbo must have been through a lot, replacement won't be cheap, neither will maintenance of the vehicle. I do not think many owners of used turbocharged vehicles dumped in Nigeria are happy, or even drive them like race cars if these owners want some miles or peace, naturally aspirated engines can take this drive style, even better if it's a 6 cylinder engine and up, you'll be acquainted with more than a mechanic should you buy this vehicle ☹️, not the worst, pros involve learning a few things as you watch them repair or make attempts to repair 😊. Lastly, this car and the N20 engine type in all the 3's of that generation are known to have timing chain problems, we know how it goes with vehicles known to have timing chain/guides issues, bad maintenance and lots of miles increase your chances of having a catastrophic engine failure, It will be a "good" find if this 2014 you plan to buy has less than 100k miles 😔, you get the picture? the first thing Google tells you about this car. |
This is sad, but also not shocking, these people aren't medical practitioners, this is how you know those who took up a job for all other reasons besides wanting to serve and save, yeah the country isn't where it should be but how many of these doctors and nurses really want to save people? how could a doctor or nurse refuse to keep a dying patient alive? This is beyond police report, an actual doctor would save this patient even if the hospital was against it, these zombies in coats and scrubs should never have been allowed to get the training, this is one of the reasons Nigerian schools, especially government funded universities should begin making students write essays or even Go through interviews, detailing why they should be allowed into a program. I wanted to study nursing, in fact, I was almost done with 200 level at Bayero when I discovered nursing wasn't for me, i hated its reality of dealing with biological waste, festering wounds, and the filth many humans carry beneath their clothes, what did I not see? A sighting of days old dried out faeces hanging on long ass hairs on dirt dyed grey underwear looking black, on a grown man, this did it for me! damn, I mean I can't even change my son's shitty diaper, imagine a diabetic's foot ulcer dressing☹️, I knew to change discipline, I made sure to find another discipline in health care with not much dealings with human waste, filth or a necrotic part and a normal 9-5 work schedule. You should find, understand and know yourself, give yourself entirely to your job while enjoying it, doctors and nurses should be hungry to save lives, not nonchallantly turn a dying human away, a normal human should be humane, not to even mention one trained in the art of saving life, if you won't do the job however it comes, don't take it, God rest the soul of the departed. |
How unfortunate, looking at the damage on the bus, it is obvious the driver was moving at a high speed, the faster you go, the higher your chances of losing control, God rest their souls. |
You didn't do any due diligence before proceeding to send money to someone you didn't even meet properly on the internet, Israel Raphael as a name sounds funny, I wouldn't be surprised if no one goes by that name. You talked on WhatsApp and you didn't think to do a video call, you probably even sent money to a wallet that may not even have sufficient kyc information,. You should be able to do this yourself, the same way these criminals take advantage of those wanting to leave the country, do you homework and go through the process yourself, just a permit and you were too lazy to go about it yourself, even this should be illegal. You shot yourself in the leg, how unfortunate, everything you think you know about this guy is most likely a lie, shame on him too, but he certainly doesn't care about that. |
humbleglobal:The car fell into terrible hands, you say you noticed the engine oil drying up prior to this, that's a terrible thing, the ringing was most likely done bad and the damage already began before the poor ringing job, new engine time! |
After reading the comments, I cannot say those who call Nigeria a big zoo are totally wrong, it shows how backward and unintelligent a large population of Nigerians are, I will not speak further. |
You're better off using the semi synthetic made my mobil, that generic nonsense you buy could be anything, definitely not a good lubricant for your engine. If you can't afford the synthetic, go for the semi synthetic and buy it at any Mobil gas station, not from any store on the streets. |
pointblank247:You have only clearly stated you cannot afford a range rover, many of the ones you mentioned are up for sale are problematic, abused, daily, sellers throw "anointing" oil on these cars while reciting verses from the book of psalms just to facilitate sale, buyers know why they avoid, sellers want to be free! Parts are very expensive, you'll need to ship most of them, unending electrical issues too, many auto technicians will have your number blacklisted, some will shut workshop doors on sighting you from afar, in short, only very few can properly fix it when electrical issues happen. |

When things like this happen, it is often not just about money, hate and bitter jealousy is definitely involved, I do not understand why many elderly Nigerians still think a certain age group should not or cannot access certain basic things, legally acquired or otherwise, isn't anyone's business, there's the law enforcement for that. This landlord could be motivated plainly by hate, saddened by the memories of how his own youthful days were by his own father on the farm or at a wicked aunt's who never gave lunch, young folks must learn to thread carefully, especially when they have access to any of these "symbols of wealth", many Nigerians have suffered so much that they'll be envious of a neighbour who just got a 1990 Almera, I believe the abductors were shocked to only find 800k in the young man's bank account. |
Teachers, and everyone else in academics are not greatly paid everywhere in the world, you go check what teachers and lecturers take home in the west compared to the cost of living there. That aside, our professors here, what are they professing? Quackery? Not too long ago I saw a news article about some department under engineering faculty in FUOYE celebrate their final year students for making a stove that runs on solar energy, what's this stove? A purchased 200ah lead acid battery hooked up to a purchased inverter and then hooked up to a purchased electric stove, isn't this shameful? An idiot could do this, head of department was in this picture, all smiles 😏 These are the issues, apart from health related courses, the federal government is just wasting money on these people, especially Engineering and the science facilities, Law, Education and Arts are doing great, our professors are definitely aren't living up to expectations, no results at all, can they talk and share ideas where their counterparts who are actual professors are gathered? For those who are calling for increased wages, this is the news for these people, https://news.fuoye.edu.ng/federal-university-oye-ekiti-students-design-solar-powered-stove-using-locally-sourced-materials/ |
Wrong section, fintech apps won't ask for a collaterall, and before you can be seen as "qualified" for that amount then you must have made them a profit of at least half that 😂. I'll also tell you these fintech apps aren't your friend, the interest rates makes you the slave you'll not be happy to be, if you will not be using this money to fund some very profitable venture, then depression and indebtedness will not be far from you. Say you'll be doing a business, Plot a graph of the interest rate against the foreseeable profit from the business you intend to do with the loan, see where you stand when repayments and interests kick in, goes without saying time is also a factor you must consider. Many of them will not give you more than 1 million, they're an online version of "LAPO", my advice is you stay away, sell that land and be debt free. |
oyeb15:That is exactly how every gambler started, they all started with "staking what they can afford to lose", a large fraction of gamblers abuse substances, a way to not think about the loss, there's a connection between gambling and substance abuse, it is best never to gamble, doesn't matter if the stake is 1 kobo. |
It is quite funny how Nigerians think our politicians care about these things 😂, the second life leaves the body, the human which is then described as "dead" has met its end, this dead human is unaware and cannot care about whatever is said or thought about the way he/she lived life. A body is just a body, not different from that of a big wild pig, that Mr Buhari's body will return as cargo doesn't mean he didn't live a fulfilled life (at least to him), it doesn't mean the souls of the young and old Shiites whose bodies were transported in trucks finally got revenge 🥶, all these thoughts should come from an idiot. Nigerians should quit these imbecilic thoughts and discussions, make actual plans to take back their country from these folks, all of these people are the same, just different factions, but the same gang, a wicked leader can live very long, so long by using the country's resources to maintain his health, seek the best medical practitioners in the world, and even hand over the country to his kins when the last characteristic of a human being sets in. |
This will not work to cool the interior of the car during the rainy season here, during the rainy season it is usually very humid and this system will only work when the air has very little or no humidity. |
atoliman:Spot on!! Unfortunately, among our folks, common sense isn't common. I found a cobbler who is crazy in the art if making shoes, I pay him to get my shoes (shoes made wuth actual leather), the cobbler is able to feed and pay his child's school fees, his wife can also afford to pay a fashion designer to make her a dress. That is how money should flow, that is how a country develops, employment happens as a result, finding pride in spending money on overpriced and not often superior brands whose actual values have been upped by tariffs directly/indirectly affects us, the commoners mostly. Yes, many Nigerians cannot afford innoson brand new cars, but there are still thousands of people who can, these ones can purchase, use for a while and sell to others here, sadly, they're not buying. |
DeLaRue:The good times will come? That's a far cry looking at historical facts, and the current happenings in the country. Insecurity at never seen levels, all four corners of the country are "hot", EFCC still a tool to suffer the opposition, Millions of Nigerians are worse than poor, a large percentage of the middle class are falling in line with the poor, market prices of consumables evidently show that wages are poor even as the minimum was "increased". I haven't lived for too long, but the trend I have witnessed over the years, is that the previous year is always better than the next in Nigeria, I have so much love for this country and really hope things get better, I do now believe that's never going to happen, everything is wrong here in Nigeria, from the leaders and how they were "elected", to the judiciary, the Armed forces, civil service, health sector and even our educational institutions, the very important family unit is failing as a result of extreme poverty and the careless display of fraud proceeds by our "leaders". I am not happy to say that right now the only thing any smart Nigerian from very poor roots can do to escape this nonsense, is to take advantage of its relatively cheap education (high demand stem courses) endure the poor state of the long terrible living facilities in these institutions during the course of study, from there, life begins to take good shape, and one will be in a position to decide one's future, a decision that'll not be forced on you by a government of devils, to the young ones from poor households, your only chance at living like a human being is getting the right Education and may the good lord keep you alive all through the process!! |
veekid:Regardless of the brand/model, What most mechanics will start with is this, check your transmission oil if it is not black, if you have enough, do a drain and refill with the recommended transmission oil if it is black and or short, see how the transmission responds to that. |
The very good mechanic who does my routine maintenance almost killed some POS woman in the garage where he works, I made the mistake of giving him my keys to drive out of a very crowded corner, dude forgot it was a crowded auto garage with hundreds of car owners, mechanics, traders, he pedalled to the floor in reverse and almost lost control because he didn't expect the response he got from the car, the shock was so much that people couldn't shout, they just exclaimed with mouths wide open. I remember this day and still thank God the POS woman walking just behind didn't get knocked down, my car and myself would have been in trouble 😂, It would not make much difference that the mechanic was driving and not me, never again!! |
Kerefi:Save yourself high blood pressure and unending disappointments, avoid by all means, doesn't matter if it is Tokunbo or used here, these cars will fail no matter how much you take care of it, it is a design flaw. When Hyundai started their Gdi technology post 2010, they got it totally wrong, till today they're still struggling with the technology and haven't gotten it right, there are even stories of 2025 palisades, Tucson failing within weeks, a quick Google search will open your eyes. This failure is most common among the smaller engine displacements. Pre 2011, and I can confidently tell you Hyundai/kias compare so well with more popular brands like Honda, Toyota, Nissan. Mind you, I own an Hyundai Sonata and I haven't been to a mechanic for repairs for years, car is in top shape like the way it came imported, everything works great from my electric side mirrors to AC (cold and hot), rear window heating, electric driver seat, etc. no issues, even my leather seats are in great shape ( I never installed seat covers and I don't park in a garage, that tells you the sun hits it good). Hyundai isn't totally an unreliable automaker, they manufactured the indestructible older engines still going strong today (over 20 years), they're just not giving up on the GDI tech/ having more diffuculties pairing them with Turbos, maybe they figure it out in the coming years, if you must use a more recent Hyundai, AVOID ALL TURBO VARIANTS with small engines, AND ONLY CONSIDER THE non turbo 3.3L/3.5L V6, the best Hyundai engines are the naturally aspirated V6s. |
Alliswell248:It isn't about clearing FX backlogs or killing the local currency exchange "black market", that was and is just gross corruption in the country's finance and governance overall, the questions to ask are, are Nigerians moving forwards financially? are the honest money making majority telling tales of a better yesterday or a sweet ongoing era? Not about Bat or buhari, these factions and useless arguments is what's been keeping Nigerians in the chains of incompetent devilishly greedy self serving politicians, is life better now? How many Nigerians who could shop on websites like ASOS, Amazon, eBay, back then conveniently even with customs duties find this news amusing🤔 The government isn't serious, and to state the obvious truth, this administration is not doing anything to relieve the masses, definitely making life harder, deaths engulfing the nation, north, south, west and east, if this continues for another decade, then maybe casualties can be likened to that of the bubonic plague, I am sure these criminal leaders will be in Europe or wherever the actual leaders have the people in mind, enjoying life. These facts are everywhere, domestic flights became an unaffordable luxury, even students with project writing hustles on campus could use these services before the miracle worker came in, now they tell stories of the experience, here the minimum wage is 50 dollars a month, in the US where the minimum wage makes sense, there are 25 dollars flights covering longer distances 😏, here we talking about two months salary if you book 6 months before the travel date 😂 Only a tiny fraction can afford to be on Amazon 😂, how many are using paid Spotify? How many patronise netflix? How many can even afford 50gb a week? Or have the electricity to power the appliances? I go shopping at the supermarket and I see evidences of widespread hardship, I have not been in a queue at the supermarket checkout point in a long time. Unfortunately, many Nigerians do not know what good governance should feel like, they don't think they deserve it, the suffering and abuse has been normalised so much that many now think it is the norm, I'm not talking about a community where everyone is wealthy, that doesn't exist, I am talking a working environment where people can make good examples of thousands of honest hard workers who are doing great, where jail isn't for a certain people, where actions have appropriate consequences, and where the people do not have to pray to return home in one piece when stepping out to work in the morning. |
Damn, that damage is really significant, apart from the popular scam of selling locally used cars as foreign used, this right here is done by most of the car dealers out there, buy badly "accidented" cars, repair, and sell as "fresh entry accident free". |
jaxxy:Run flats aren't indestructible, they likely were driving at a high speed and the car they were trying to overtake was also moving fast, if a run flat hits some sharp object at a high speed then a blowout is possible, the impact at that speed coupled with how rapidly the air in the tyre escapes can result in such an outcome. |
united4men:Doesn't make lots of sense to have different tyre heights, the difference from the back and front is about 10mm (65/100 * 215 = 10mm same as 1cm), this minimal difference in height is why the previous owner could use the vehicle like that, the front tyres are about 1cm lower than the back tyres, if you are satisfied with the height of the vehicle at the back then replace the front tyres to match the back tyres. About going back to the factory spec, you'll need to get new rims, you can't use 15inches rim tyres on a 16 inches rim, even if you manage to install it (definitely won't fit) yourself and anyone you drive by have high risk of being in a motor accident. My recommended tyre size is 215/55/R17, I like fat tyres and wanted more ground clearance so I use 225/65/R17, it changes the whole look of the vehicle, so to Increase ground clearance, maintain your rim size and focus on the middle value more, remember something of a not too higher aspect ratio is what you need, can't go too much because you need space so the tyres don't rub on the vehicle body. Ground clearance improved a lot, and car looks nicer with the tall tyres, as a consequence I must endure poor balance at even moderate speeds say above 80mph, especially on uneven roads, wrong speedometer reading, and car will consume more fuel (bigger heavier tyres, less revolutions). |
Why not keep making "more than a 100k a week" rather than looking for fools to steal from? Say this is legit, which we both know is not, are your clients so many and you very slow that you'll be willing to risk fools numbering hundreds ( if you're lucky) able to access your buyers? It seems this is the trend now, people trying to sell nonsense, lies, the only thing you aren't equipped with yet is a name, popularity, people who have come before you and successfully pulled such scams had fame and a name. You and I know a few "celebrities" selling their "master classes" to millions of dullards, from the "cook" who made millions from teaching virtually the complicated hidden skill of how to boil rice, to the fashion designer who has a large percentage of Nigerian women in chains, "corsets" they say. Try again when you have a name and then go on apps filled with slow folks like Tiktok and wannabes like insta, good luck. |
jceesquare:Repaired and cleaned up, sold as "imported" to the next buyer 🫢 |
It is only logical, smart and definitely right to terminate, anyone thinking otherwise is either stupid or ignorant of the consequences of being stupid about such a case. First of all, it is selfish to allow a kid like that to come into the world, the kid will not appreciate you for that, these things cannot be cured, a few can be managed (often times if family is well to do), the stress from this makes life much harder, drifts couples apart and can even break them up. I have cousins who have the sickle cell disease, I know what the parents are going through, the cousins are in a hotter hell, anyday could be "the day" and it won't be one without stress , pains or medical bills, not to mention developmental abilities! |
hydel:You won't find any good car with that figure, if you do get deceived and sold a money pit, then you will most likely find yourself selling the car to "butchers" or liquidating your business to fix it. |
Omalicious1:They cannot be proactive, they do not have the will or infrastructure or even the intelligence to be proactive, these lots are sellouts, most of them who aren't sellouts are sad, confused, hungry chickens, angry they're not on the team of sellouts, how many Nigerians are patriotic? Honourable? Care about posterity? How many actually have brains or use their brains? The same people responsible for their security will be voted again, people who will never be victims but will always sympathise with the unfortunate slow folks who believe themselves lower, but these ruthless leaders chosen by them to be of God, who are these dullards? a large fraction of those locked in the Hell called Nigeria, the few with brains suffer the folly of the multitude, hence the exodus of the frustrated moneyed people. How does the poor man who often fail to provide himself and his family two meals a day despite his unending toils, still sell his vote to the very people behind his woes? The same people responsible for the security of his life and that of his family? The country is headed to that juncturee where the most learned working families will not only be familiar with hunger, but actively expect waves of wipeouts of their kins, that juncure where every breaking of the day is a miracle. |
Iceking1:Did your mechanic advise you to change your tyres? If the answer is yes, fight him, block him and place a curse on his business, how can tyre size be your problem? This string of words, "drive a while it'll get better" is nonsense, anyone who tells you that after a repair is already out of ideas and doesn't know what else to do, and when replacing parts, use parts known to be working ( taken from a car) or new parts, that's how to be sure. CHANGE THAT MECHANIC, he's one these many quacks out there masquerading as pros, people that should be arrested and and sentenced to at least six months for false parade and fraud. |
