cyif2003:Under load, ignition issues can present more clearly, your air conditioning uses a compressor and that's additional load. |
I have driven a 2007 and 2018 Toyota corolla (CVT), I honestly think they're the same, no difference as far as the experience is concerned. It felt super sluggish, it didn't even have the normal forward torque when leg was off acceleration pedal, it was still while in drive. The screaming when accelerating is embarrassing, especially when you compare that to the increase in speed. These are just cars to get one from A to B, not for those who enjoy a bit of speed or power, they're not designed for that, the CVT is also another factor, a friend who has one just changed his drive shaft last week and now the car will not shift through gears, they're still on it for about two days now. |
Flyestgurl:What is the code seen on scanning the transmission? Maybe get a second opinion from another gearbox specialist who is good. |
madapcmod:"Already broken", that's crazy, good to know vibration is gone, I'm yet to fix mine, still not decided on tokunbo or aftermarket |
Gotocourt:Oh! And how can one get these? |
Gotocourt:Yeah Thanks they're new I changed them a while ago |
Faith063:You have to scan again with a better scanner. |
This thing as small and cheap as it is can set a vehicle ablaze, fuses protect circuits, designed to blow should any component on that circuit decide to draw more than the rating of the fuse, this thick copper wire wound around the fuse will not cut, the fire will start from the fusebox and or the offending circuit and if there's contact with fuel the vehicle owner will need prayers. Sometimes the damage is minimal and the car will just shut off and it may later be discovered that fusebox is damaged, serious rewiring needed and ECM fried, such cars rarely return back to o factory level function after repair. |
Faith063:I'll advise to stop shifting it into gear if it's idle rpm is that high, shifting into gear at 2000rpm is not good for the transmission, does this car respond to o yoir throttle input when in neutral? Ignition on engine off, shift it into neutral and start the engine, then gently step on the gas pedal and see if the engine responds accordingly. |
A good panel beater job that'll come out manageable will cost you not less than 20k, that's also a permanent damage to that car because it just stopped looking spotless. Next time rather than "manoeuvring" ask the gatekeeper or someone at the reception for the owner of the car, or better still have someone stay outside to watch for contact while you try to get out. This person is right for insisting you fix, anyone who scratches must fix, it eventually teaches everyone to be careful. |
There's a reason people dragged Hyundai to court over the terrible rod knock and serious oil consumption many of these engines suffer, do a quick Google search and you'll see tons of lamentations, the outcome was Hyundai is mandated to change the engine of this vehicle through out the Life of its chassis provided there's documented proof of timely service, people often get remanufactured engines, many people are on their third and fourth engines on these vehicles. This is an issue with the design of the vehicle, most of the times it gives no warning, it just dies on the highway and that's the end of it, maintenance won't save you, gentle driving will not, you just have to be thankful everyday you use it and successfully park it. The wet dct Hyundai used from 2021+(I think) got issues as early as before 2000 miles, that was another mistake, imagine having a new car and needing a transmission before you hit 2000 miles, these are not the best years to buy, if you must buy an Hyundai go back to pre 2011, or buy from 2026, from 2026 Hyundai will use normal torque converter transmissions and then have gotten their engine right, take a few keywords from my advice and insert them in yiur browser to know more, good luck! |
Carcourt:Yeah why I don't like the Is |
Interesting read, I have always loved cars with decent height, huge tyres and more than comfortable cabin, would never get anything tiny, cramped space ❌. |
rapheal5:No honda civic has a big engine, if you want to step it up then you can proceed knowing fully well you have corrected the manufacturer. |
LagosOrigin:The state is almost all the time comprised of a group of people who see themselves as totally above the many millions whose lives they greatly affect, these people are the same, partisan affiliations or colour do not make them different, what is actually very amazing is how these people who are in large numbers have submitted their fates into the hands of these very wasteful, insatiable few, how these millions run to God or cry in a corner when they're shown gross injustice or treated lower than animals, power truly resides where the people think it resides. |
I don't know if this broker still exists, but back in 2019 someone told me about trading options, how i could make 80+ percent of my stake within minutes, damn i was like oh shit let's go. I bought the books and then watched videos, I signed up on olymptrade, for weeks i was making mad progress on my Demo account, so i deposited about 2300usd (my mama money dey inside sef 😭), sharply i started trading, made profits on my first two trades ( if i remember good), i started making a list of what i would buy, people to "oppress" and lives I'd change. Well, to cut the story short, I increased my stake and that kind of quickly erased my capital, I cannot describe the feeling, but it is definitely not good. So, I got more curious, then there were services of "pros" you could buy (they had an app) , these people (supposedly Russians) promise you a certain percentage gain per week if you pay their premium and use the signals they send you, I'd get the signal on my app and quickly go take the position, it still ended in tears, albeit slowly. Damn, I started digging into how to really know what's up, books, videos, etc, I started reading all sorts of finance news, strategies, followed industry "pros", still no success, my conclusion has been that those who really succeed in these things are powerful people who know policy makers, people in government and or those who i call "the market". |
Two cars cannot legitimately have the same vin, two phones cannot have the same IMEI, no two human beings can have the same fingerprints, VIN is particularly unique to a vehicle, it is the sole indentifier from the manufacturer. When issues like this pop up, there has been foulplay, do a proper VIN check and you'll find all the information you need, the said vehicle was imported so go online pay a few bucks on one of these VIN CHECK websites and you'll find all the information you need, the info you find will make things very clear. |
madapcmod:What car is this exactly? How much did you get these Chinese mounts, I've made a lot of research online and offline, I have found out when one or two mounts get bad it means their failure to absorb vibrations stresses the others which are comparably in a good state, and changing just the ones looking very bad won't be a very good idea, better to change all. Three are obviously torn apart in mine and the fourth one is looking okay, but I plan to change all four. Did you get these Chinese mounts online? |
fineboynl:That was most likely the reason yeah, i am looking at other options now. |
A coup which is motivated by pure love for the country is sure welcome, but the issue is these people have seen very clearly the decayed system, and are overly pissed about how deep the corruption is, how people are carting away billions and amassing properties endlessly, with no repercussions and any meaningful action by the citizens, thus they think they also deserve a fraction of the cake since the Nigerian leadership doesn't belong to any family, they know all they have to do is topple the current leaders and the always sheepish citizens will "obey". |
As much as the availability of these medications are important, their proper storage is more important, electricity must be fixed across all hospitals, fix that if it can't be fixed across the whole country! |
OredoPikin2:Where did I mention that my fellow Nigerian? Nigeria has been happening to me since the day I was born, it is always a mix of bad and good for everyone everywhere in the world, all we are saying is some things should not be happening in a certain age and time if institutions are working like they should. You see how she had to go to a Federal medical center? A public health center or a general hospital should be able to handle these things, these are one of the failures, Nigerians always get emotional and demand a working country for 5 minutes when something tragic and unacceptable happens, and after that everyone falls back into their respective positions of "God will cover my family and I", "my story will be different" etc. Even the very rich, those in power sometimes suffer the stench of the systemic decay they persistently fuel, what I am saying is none of us is actually totally immune to "Nigeria happening" good or bad, just some more than others, this is where we are, what we are and to a large extent the biggest determinant of who we become, unfortunately, this will go on for some time, the structure we currently have cannot birth a change "democratically". |
fineboynl:Thank you, your contribution is a good pointer, car is older than 10 years so I agree there's no way any Belgium mount is manufacturer installed / isn't weak already. I considered ordering from Ali express but I couldn't find all four, I found one but the shipping fee is three times the actaul cost of the mount, i should check other websites. |
Rhymesy:Some post out of genuine concern for the betterment of the country and its people, sometimes these folks get it wrong and post up claims that aren't facts while expressing their opinions on everyday issues, the others are mostly out to farm impressions, make the social media money, intentionally playing with people's emotions is how they go about it, rage baiting and adding half-truths while making sure all is written in "good English", since many Nigerians believe blue tick folks and anyone who writes okay even in this era of Ai is intelligent and should be granted audience/following. |
buttlover:I'm almost always on the side of our hospitals not properly funded and equipped, this is definitely the reason many Nigerians who read the news will quickly believe the hospital lacked the necessary provisions to save her, I read she drove herself to the hospital, what I know is that bite victims should limit movement to near zero, and that tying a cloth doesn't help, these could have made the spread faster. Very unfortunate, would have been better if rapid response was possible by just dialling a number, but we still don't have such provisions in Nigeria, she did her best, but then sometimes that's not enough, may the universe not let us be unfortunate, if we must be unfortunate, let it be the kind whose tales we live to tell. |
Kindly keep the votes, suggestions and ideas coming |
How is this "ALABUGA" program still on education.gov.ng? |
I'd like people who have bought and used "Belgium" (used) engine/ trans mounts, and those who have bought new Chinese mounts to come in with how good they are and how long they lasted. The time has come for me to change my engine and transmission mounts, three of the four engine/trans mounts have cracks and there's increased vibration felt in the cabin, my mechanic has advised to buy "Belgium" (used) mounts from Lagos and not to buy Chinese made new mounts, he says the Belgium ones absorb vibrations better and often last much longer, kindly come in with your opinions and experience 🙏🏾 |
There's really nothing to add, no falsehood or misinformation here, everything op said is facts. I should also warn V6 and up owners and those with engines running on timing chains, you cannot afford to play with engine oil, buying fake or cheaper wrong grade is self harm, this is one of the reasons (most common) many v6 and up engines make a terrible metal on metal noise during cold starts or after sitting for a few hours. It is one of the reasons for timing chain failure/ noise, you start to get timing codes and all of that, using the right grade ensures fast flow and penetrations into the right places. |
I was watching starz's house of Ashur, off to YouTube to enjoy KOLEOSHO, I'll be back with a very honest review. |
SEGLIZ:It is okay and not shocking to see your likes gain cheap and useless popularity facelessly on a public forum by flaunting your gross lack of comprehension, and ability to think even when what was posted up was in clear simple English. That you do think this has nothing to do with politics makes you unworthy of my engagement, if you seriously think Mercy Johnson who mostly lived low-key before her recently found spot in the political space would go this route against a colleague, then you should stop taking those doses of retardium. You mention the constitution? I laugh, do you seriously think someone with a name and connect measuring the same as that of MJ would suffer the same outcome? Is this not Nigeria where people have even refused to appear in court or even respect court orders and with no consequences? You're not Martian, it is obvious to the blind what is at play here, continue to deny the fact that this is bullying a person by hiding under the auspices of the law, cheap judges and a very corrupt legal system, there will be people like you in the commentary when it is your turn or that of a loved one to dance. |
SEGLIZ:People like you almost always have terrible views that actually can drag a nation backwards, she would end up being a flight risk? What happened to the seizure of international passports and other measures to curtail that? What is the gravity of this crime? Is this fair treatment or a reasonable judgement from a judge that has not been bought? What has happened to politicians accused of heavy crimes in the past? How many have been remanded until before proven guilty? History reminds us people who committed m"rder and looted billions in public funds got much softer treatments, all in the face of the "law". When someone who has got connections or knows the shameless folks we unfortunately have in positions of power decides to oppress one who doesn't, it is always funny to see how ordinary people with no meaningful surnames who are more likely to suffer the same or worse treatment come on forums to defend such maltreatment and injustice, how senseless and embarrassing! These are the judges we have in election tribunals, the ones presiding over cases of corruption against public officials, the ones getting houses provided by a Mad Godfather who has several million naira properties with no proven source of income. |
