ZEPHYREN:Haven't been on here for a while, did you fix whatever it was? |
noobody:Thank you, I'm thinking the 18 inches with metal blades. |
BigDickProblems:The fan is a waste of money, everything is connected, I took it apart. The DC motor is faulty, the heart of the fan, the fan still spins but its top speed is now like the second speed, and it is a six speed fan, the DC motor CLOUD ENERGY brand uses isn't top quality, apparently. |
GloryJoyeux:There's a reason dishonest "solar installers" love the cworth brand |
Babatundehy:UPDATE, Just about 5 months and the cloud energy DC fan is dead, worked fine the day before and this morning I pushed the button to put it on and nothing happened, hit it and it started spinning but fan speed was nothing near its original full speed, it is as good as a handfan now, the fan is toast. CLOUD ENERGY brand is not a good brand, stay away from it, I'm thinking about the DURAVOLT 18INCH AC/dc fan now, is anyone using the fan here? Anyone has recommendations on a good brand of DC FANS? |
erico2k2:More than 60 percent, I want to believe. It is just sad, told myself my next car will be brand new, don't even care if it is innoson or any of our "brands" here, the day isn't far when I'll make a thread about it here, just like a few have done ☹️, my car is the only thing I own that wasn't bought new, even as I was 'lucky' during purchase and it has turned out to be very reliable, that needs to change, I must see zero for my odometer! |
thuao:Right! He can even do that himself, what's needed is just the 13amps plug, a tape and maybe pliers or a knife and screwdriver. |
3ncrypt3d:First of all, Is this place where you have the "gen outlet' safe for your power station? this is how I think you can do this, you can splice open the wires that goes into your generator just before the plug, get a13amp plug that goes into the river connected to the same wires and then tape up, this will mean your gen plug in the picture will be 'hot' when your river2pro is powering your house, dangerous if someone steps on the gen plug at this time, the same for the 13amp plug that goes into the river2pro, so this also means you cannot forget to unplug it before putting on your Gen, as doing so will send power from your gen into the AC output side of the River2pro. There won't be problems if you're always careful and never forgetful and no one else plays around where the river is, should you leave the plug in your river and let the gen run then God help you. |
nurez305:You'll be safe if that socket you might not remember to turn off, or unplug your Ecoflow charging cable from, isn't in the circuit the Ecoflow powers, stay safe, be careful, let an electrician come in if you really don't know what you're doing, you can afford that if you can afford the power station. |
3ncrypt3d:I have the River2pro, to spare you the long technical explanation which is quite unnecessary, just get a 300watts solar panel, People speak good of JINKO, I use AFRICELL and I hit the maximum solar charge power of 220watts any day the sun shines bright, enjoy. |
twosquare:Na big wayo wey dem suppose carry them go court for, deceptive advertising 😡 |
twosquare:If the power station is being charged with DC when the charging AC cable is also plugged in and then NEPA decides to show you love, what happens is that the power station's screen comes on to let you know it has disengaged the DC charging and enabled AC charging, you hear a click when this happens, Ecoflow engineers did good with that smart function, (some power stations can even charge with both AC and solar at the same time). |
Necksonnel:No inverter or machine is 100 percent efficient, there will be losses, and in this case, the power station's inbuilt inverter works by converting Direct current from its lithium ion phosphate batteries to alternate current, this 'WORK' definitely reduces the efficiency of the power station, the inverter itself consumes some of the juice from the batteries during the DC to AC conversion, you cannot have hundred percent. On the time left while loads are plugged in, it depends, you'll get more running time if you plug a DC fan into the DC outlet without turning on the inverter, plug the same fan with an AC to DC adapter and then turn on thr AC button of the inverter (turn the inverter on) and you'll not get even half the estimated time of the DC connection. |
Hydronium:A "rip off" cannot be trusted, that means everything written on the spec sheet shouldn't be believed to be true, use the jinko you have and be happy. |
3ncrypt3d:It comes with the kind of socket in your house, definitely not the generator adapter, look at the pictures of the UK version of River2pro, the device comes exactly as the picture shows, like the socket on your extension 👍 |
Mandate1:Damn, this is why I never return if a brand disappoints, thanks for leaving the review here, if you bought it on JUMIA please leave this review there so that people don't buy. |
RichIgboBoy:Those claiming to know more than the manufacturer are clearly stupid, it is like arguing about the order of alphabets. I am going to assume you were handed 20W-50 engine oil when you went to a store or a mechanic and said you want to change your car engine oil, by my two big balls, many oil sellers at 'garages' and even road side mechanics will do the same, the last time i was at Ilesha garage in Akure to change my handbrake lining (a family member keeps leaving it on while driving), sitting at the parts seller's shop, about three people came to ask for oil to service their car, they were all handed 20w-50, they paid and left. Oh well, this is how it is with many people, they don't have the knowledge about oils, check your engine cap and have a look at the oil viscosity written on it by your manufacturer, that's what you should use whether you live in Antarctica or Death valley, USA, now you might change to the manufacturer's oil grade and notice your car smoking shortly after or even immediately, if this is the case then you must fall back to your 20W-50, this is because the engine is high mileage and or has been abused for quite a long time (with very thick 20W-50). Some change back to the manufacturer's recommended grade and vehicle doesn't smoke or starts making weird sounds, I'll advise you don't fall back anyways, car is old (16 years) and you have abused it for two years, keep it that way so you don't draw much nearer the consequences of using very thick oils over the years. |
Mandate1:Yeah would be a very good move to get a reliable 2000wh power station with an inverter of 1500 watts for a little over 800k (current price on JUMIA), let us know how it handles appliances like blender, or a refrigerator. Looking at the spec on jumia I see it has solar input of about 600watts-800watts, did you already install panels ? How long did it take to fully charge with NEPA, and what was its maximum input from NEPA, how loud is the fan noise 🤔. Once a brand fails to meet expectations, I never reconsider it ever, that's the kind of person I am, let us know if Skyrun is doing great in the corridors of power stations. |
lebete3000:Don't do it, you don't intend to use the car to make money (Uber etc), you intend to buy just to move around, things will always need fixing, parts get bad (normal wear and tear), they cost money to fix, engine oils and trans oils aren't so cheap, fuel also isn't, and you'll fall into serious depression and frustration should you be unlucky to even buy a car with engine/trans issues which will need expensive repair. Currently, you need a loan to buy, have it in mind that a car is like a child, one with a huge appetite and can't warn you before it falls sick and needs surgery, thus you must have money at all times to take care of this, all of this combined with your daily expense (food and or yearly rent), family upkeep if you have one, and then servicing the loan, will be too much for you, you might end up parking the car and not using it, or driving it and not eating well like you used to. |
KingGeedorah:I can only imagine how you feel now, quite crazy, all it takes a thief is proper planning and the tools needed, if you live alone in that apartment, then a different lock could still result in the same outcome. Not that this helps you to recover your power station, but Ecoflow can brick the unit if you report it stolen, you only have to prove you're the actual owner, this probably deters those with similar intentions, the thief stole with the box , so the intent isn't to use but to sell, Ecoflow has become the Toyota Corolla of Power stations, read the same story on Facebook not too long ago. Stay strong, i almost went crazy when my bag which had my two Samsung phones, my INFINIX X1 laptop, 20k, and my friend's Tekno phone was stolen right in front of us, we had dropped it (with several other bags of classmates) at the front of the lecture theatre, just at the podium where lecturers invigilating an exam we had come to write stood. Thieves know what they're doing, someone knows you have the Ecoflow, and knows they can sell fast for good money, especially with the box, they knew you'd have the box, in my case, the special INFINIX laptop bag which had the valuables probably gave the thief the hint. |
A defective transmission will not damage the engine, Transmission sends the power from the engine to the wheels of the vehicle, that is its function, if it can't do that due to some fault then the engine continues doing its job. You know your transmission is bad and you don't have money to replace, continue using as is and start driving the car very gently, hopefully it serves you until you have saved enough money for a replacement. It Can also be wise to seek the opinion of another mechanic with a good scan tool, see if total replacement isn't needed and the issue can be fixed, for now keep using as is, drive it gently and start saving. |
oladele239:There'll be many more days like this, when the rainy season really hits, there will be days or even a whole week when the sun can barely be felt on one's skin, then a day's sun will not fully charge the device. You barely took advantage of the day's sunshine if you would have used the Delta 2 but didn't use because you wanted it fully charged and the sun wasn't really bright, you could have charged your delta 2 to maybe 45/50 percentage and then run your loads ( assuming load is somewhat close to the solar input you were getting, say 150/200), you could have had your refrigerator running, devices charged and fans working, you then shut the AC of the Delta 2 off by maybe 4pm or just before the sun goes down (you'll know when), so it charges faster until sunset and you have some battery juice for nighttime. My point, leaving to charge fully until the power station is loaded isn't the best way to maximise the solar energy, you can use for more hours by charging halfway or close and then loading it up. |
Emoreni:The mc4 to xt60 is the cable with which you charge your Ecoflow portable power station through DC (solar panels), xt60 plugs into the back of your Ecoflow power station and the mc4 part connects to the solar panel(s). |

Macmilla:Had a day today 😂, saw two honda EODs and a DC doing the dribble 😏🫢 was driving from Aule estate to FUTA ( All within 3kms), this goes to show many Nigerians don't maintain their cars, fixing only when something is damaged isn't the way to go, goes without saying buyers of Nigerian used cars should not play with inspection. When you drive by and see an old generation honda user stranded and sweating like a Goat because the front wheels are now like the laugh emoji, do not lift or render any assistance, they deserve to suffer, that car must have given warnings before the failure. |
ksmart027:I'll update the thread when I have made the purchase, will post up the set up and how it performs. |
BigDickProblems:Thanks for the very good pointer 🤗 |
oladele239:Thank you, working on it. |
Good evening house, I drive a Honda dc 2006, but I have a problem with its braking. First of all, the ABS light and brake lights on the dashboard are on, the brake light comes and goes, but my main problem is that when I am driving on the highway, on high speed, the brake is very sharp, in fact, too sharp for my liking, but occasionally, when in traffic or driving slowly and trying to get to a standstill, the brake totally fails, like doesn't work at all. It happened one time I was trying to join the highway and a man suddenly just walked into the front of my car, I was pressing the brake but the car totally refused to stop and was moving slowly towards the man, I was pressing the horn for the man to move away but it fell on deaf ears, I had to pump the brake a few inches away from the man before it stopped. The second scenario, a highlander was in front of me, trying to make a turn at an illegal/shortcut route, I was applying brake behind but it just slowed down and refused stop totally until I hit the highlander, the third scenario happened today, a civic was trying to turn while I was coming, the path was em not clear but you know Lagos drivers and their madness, he quickly entered the road expecting me to stop, and truly, even tho I had the right of way, I was applying brake but again, it refused to stop, it just slowed down until I hit the civic. The man couldn't complain cos he knew he was at fault, but the whole thing has me worried, has anyone ever faced this problem before? It never happens while on full speed, but only happens when I am moving very slowly. Going by this recent development, I go too bash cars for traffic o, all these started in less than 3 weeks, please help.
The exact issue some young man with the same car came to fix at my mechanic's place few days back, have you checked your brake fluid? Replace if too old and there's more trouble if way low. You say it happens when you move slowly and try to stop, does the brake pedal get soft and go all the way down at this time? Any different feel to it compared to when it is 'sharp 'at high speeds? Your issue could just be pressure loss along the lines or something wrong in the master cylinder, any good mechanic can fix this within minutes. The same reason I always never expect vehicles to stop for me while I cross the road on foot or try to make a turn where I shouldn't while driving, one can never be too careful 😏, you should fix it as soon as possible, many Nigerians think walking fast or running while crossing the road takes out their "steeze" dem no sabi as e dey go, d car won turn you to Bashir like this. |
All the information you need is on the Hyundai group on FB and Reddit, there you'll find lots of lamentations from those who still owe thousands of dollars on the cars, those Hyundai cunningly denied Engine replacement, those who are on their third free engine from Hyundai and those who are asking for a good lemon law lawyer to sue Hyundai. The common denominator among these wailers is they bought an Hyundai or Kia model from 2011 when Hyundai started making their own Theta engines. Hyundai is supposed to replace the engine for the lifetime of the vehicle if one shows proof of timely and proper oil change, paperwork, somehow some people who claim to have had the engine quit on them suddenly on the road without warning even as they have serviced it in time were denied the free engine replacement, others get the free engine (mostly remanufactured) and even loaner cars pending engine replacement. You are in Nigeria and not buying it new or certified pre-owned, these cars look good but Hyundai didn't get the theta engines right. I have a 2009 Hyundai sonata V6, mpi lambda engine, it is super rugged, fast and I'm completely satisfied, no troubles at all, my landlord who owns two Toyotas visits the mechanic way more than myself 🫢, in two years I have only done ATF replacement once (i just felt like it), my engine oil replacement (conventional mobil 5W30) is done twice a year, engine shorting oil and all of that has never been an experience of mine, now I get 17mpg in the city, 25mpg highway (AC on always of course) and that's fair, no overheating even if I drive with AC on from Osun state to Maiduguri. The 2009/2010 isn't bad looking, stop looking at models after that, this particular sonatas are known to go over 300,000 miles with original engine and trans, the only issue you can have here in Nigeria is that many mechanics do not know what to do with Hyundai/Kia vehicles, one couldn't locate my oil filter the other day 🫢, parts can be harder to get compared to Toyotas, but way easier if you're in Lagos or know your way with AliExpress 😏, my car has had the abs light on for a while and the reason is it says the right wheel speed sensor is bad, tried more than 5 Tokunbos, ordering one on AliExpress fixed it, one of the springs on the master switch window control broke and I had to also order it from AliExpress, everything didn't take longer than two weeks though. In summary, the theta engines are most likely to make you lose weight and get bitter or even begin to make you think a witch is after you, especially because it is your first car 😂, myself and anyone who knows Hyundai/Kia vehicles very well will tell you to look at cars before 2011, won't be too costly, satisfying, rugged, and have your eyes on the V6 not the weak i4. If you want something newer sort of, then look at another brand, Toyota, Honda etc, congratulations. |
