The best part about working anywhere thatโ€™s not Africa is how conducive the working/living situation is and that significantly improves the quality of life. Stress is very minimal.

Whether you are food delivery, you take your bike without fear of insane drivers OR you into childcare, you do your job and go back home with 100% guarantee of zero traffic, good water and stable electricity.

Even though it is a rat race type of thing, at least it has structure unlike Nigeria.

Business / Re: Dollar Makes "U" Turn, Begins To Appreciate Against Naira by Babysho(m): 8:14am On Apr 18
As much as I dislike Obidients, I think the Tinubu supporters are even worse especially when it comes to Economics.

What most have said on this thread is true, we're only clearing forex backlogs but what happens when the forex hits an all time low and it becomes even more difficult to acquire the dollar.

And so, it is an artificial appreciation. The dollar is still scarce that's why the prices of imported goods are still very high. When our forex runs lower, it'll go back to deprecation unfortunately.

Again, I'm begging you to join The Movement Of The People (MOP CENTRE) on social media before the next election cycle. The entirety of Tinubu tenure will be used to pursue shadows of the dollar ; aboki, Binance, BDC, When the real problem is that our leaders are not willing to elevate themselves from position of civil servants for white men to actual bourgeoise. We need to quit consuming foreign products and MAKE OUR OWN OURSELVES!

If everyone are using prepaid, what's the essence of categorisation into bands. This is daylight robbery on people on Band A consumers who were already paying high from more hours of electricity consumed

God bless you. What type of stupidity is fueling Nigeria? The whole point of the meter is to regulate usage. The elites and industries are already paying more because they definitely use more appliances. You can't just increase by band because there are some people that are poor and accidentally in Band A.
Such a rash decision acting like they have a database of all Nigerians and their salary.

Nigeria doesn't even understand that it's meant to be a powerhouse for the development of Africa instead it's busy comparing with it's younger brothers.

I didn't write nonsense sire, we know the situation of things, reason we are calling for restructuring so regions can utilize their resources for developmental projects in the regions and share experience together.
At least let's appreciate the efforts of the presnt administration, thank you.

I hear you but youโ€™re misinformed. The Nigerian dilemma is NOT regional/tribal like the narrative and propaganda the business/political elites push and allow hungry people fall into. The issue has always been a CLASS WAR; The business/political elites vs the working class/poor people of Nigeria. And itโ€™s the same North, South East and West.

What have our leaders in the south west ever done to make sure that even if we return to regions, we can feed ourselves comfortably, that we can move throughout all south western states swiftly and comfortably, what have they done to make sure the south west has the most affordable housing and healthcare?

Even Lagos you mention up and down, all the flashiness of Lagos are inaccessible by me and you. Can you call ambulance to come and pick you if you have heart attack? Are you safe in Lagos at 4:30 in the morning? Lagos that we spend hours in traffic and queues? Or is it because helicopter fly over your house? Or because of high rise buildings you canโ€™t enter?

You must begin to think logically and ask the important questions. The gap between the elites all over Nigeria and the masses is way too large.

CBN as at yesterday had also reduced custom duty, so we expect a corresponding reduction in prices of imported goods, unless of course Nigerians do what they do best- which is continued exploitation and greed. Also, all level of government should roll up their sleeves and invest in critical sectors in their respective states.

What about the economics of it? You do know prices never deflates in a capitalist economy. What you call "exploitation and greed" is just the law of capitalism lol

And why capitalism is brutal is that it lies to us that the forces of demand and supply will determine market prices but the manufacturers and wholesalers convene behind our backs to set their own unaffordable prices. After all, the point of capitalism is to make as much profit regardless of what you do.

The only way to battle inflation is to apply price control or increase minimum wage.

Sometimes, I'm convinced Nigerians don't understand Economics at all.
Romance / Re: I Sent Her Out Of My House Late In The Night: Did I Do The Right Thing? by Babysho(m): 8:56pm On Mar 23
AyobamiOluwole:
So this girl has been coming to my place, eat the best food and all that. I've asked her if she has a boyfriend and she said no. I do give her money without asking her for anything on return because I could see she is not the lazy type and she is really hardworking. I am very much ok with finances and I see no issues with some of her demands.

Yesterday I called her and told her that I'm not happy and that I need cuddle only and not sex(I lost so much Dollars from futures trading that night). She later called and said she will come to my place for that reason. In my mind I was thinking this will go down as sex and all, but I don't really want sex.

All I just needed is someone to cuddle and get distracted with that's all. This is the only time I am demanding something from her.

So she came during the evening time, and later that night we went to supermarket and I got her something's to eat at home for the night. We got back home and everything was going well. We were both on the bed when I reminded her why she came. This is someone I've been doing quite a lot for without even thinking twice out of pity. She wouldn't give in and wouldn't let me know why she can't just allow me to cuddle her.

Mehn, from the loss I had earlier and all that, I got infuriated and called another girl telling to pls come over for the night. Then I told this girl to leave my house since she can be that selfish. I sent her out of my house around 10pm. She was telling me she doesn't have money to go home, I didn't care and I shut my door against her. Though I was scared letting her out on that road and that time of the night but my anger got the better part of me. It was later after getting over the whole thing I confirmed nothing happened to her from someone else.

Pls is there anything wrong with what I did?

Modified: Anger is a bad thing. I am wrong sending her away at that time of the night. This is probably the judgement I'll get ๐Ÿ˜”

I BLAME CAPITALISM

Bro you mentioned sex more times than you mentioned cuddle. We all know exactly what you wanted but she denied you, then you let your ego get the best of you.

I blame Capitalism because it allows for all sorts of unexplainable misbehaviours in this generation. Those social values and constructs that used to guide our society and kids have been broken fully! Young Nigerian females are forced to be put in vulnerable states and Nigerian men own na to let QUICKLY MADE MONEY destroy their destiny and turn them into beasts.

I blame Capitalism because if you make money through hard work in the sun not all these pointless office work or tech, it'll teach you patience of hardwork to control your anger, even the vitamin D from the sun will always have you in a good mood regardless of whatever so you won't need cuddle(sex), spending time in a social environment will give you conscience not to leave a sister out in the dark. What kind of society will have a young lady who's working still need to beg to fend for herself?

What a bastardized generation of young men and women with no virtue whatsoever.

โŒโŒ NOTICEโŒโŒ

It has always been a trend to use Nigerians as stepping stones. At his initial stage of rage, this Odumodu guy sided with the poor people of Nigeria, and we accepted and raised him to an iconic status, sort of gave him a platform to represent us and in just a few months, he's already switched to the side of the oppressor he was raging at, via the platform we gave him!

Not only is this a trend in entertainment, it's also a trend in politics, finance, even in your neighbourhood. During poverty, you're angry at your oppressor, the most angriest and passionate of the poor we elevate them to iconic statuses, when it's time to represent us, small bribe or difficult moment, those icons switch to the sides of the oppressor because all along, you weren't really angry at the oppressor, you just hated that you were not them!

It takes a lot to break from that spirit of oppression. That's why till today, FELA is one of the greatest icons out of Africa because he never switched sides, heck he was actually an elite and switched to our side, the side of the people!

This is why we must keep the spirit of Fela going through MOP. All of us, the poor people and professionals of Nigeria must join hands and TOGETHER overwhelm this system of oppression to create a new society that's fair and equal for all. No such thing as a Messiah. Join and engage with MOP on social media today. Be part of the movement, join meetings, give your ideas, just don't wake up one morning and vote.

Poor thing

Nigeria is in the final stage of doing away with social values where you can depend on community for small food and even for companionship. Even in the villages, they are becoming individualistic since they now have electricity and phones.

Nigeria is absorbing all the spill overs of Industrialisation, Imperialism and Capitalism; impoverishing the masses and pushing them to the extreme end, crimogenic environments, phone addiction, drug abuse, environmental waste and more diseases etc

I dare say Nigeria practices the harshest form of Capitalism/Industrialisation because our elites don't even provide a sort of insurance or warning after or before accidents happen. Dangote truck fit crush anybody alafia! Social media fit turn your kid to a socially awkward child, alafia! No price control on food etc. Whereas foreign countries spend billions to soft cushion the effects of Capitalism.

We the poor masses and professionals of Nigeria need to organise ourselves and finally decide what we want our country to be like. What values we'd like to keep from our history and what we'd like to adopt from overseas. Join MOP on social media, let's take back our nation!

Crime / Re: 70% of Financial Crimes in Nigeria Linked to Banks โ€“ EFCC by Babysho(m): 8:09am On Mar 08
EFCC won piss inside our elites pot of soup. They want to bite the hands that feeds them.

We already know our ELITE OLD HEADS, the military generals, navy ogas at the top, CBN governors, our ex and current governors, senators, presidents and Chairpersons of Banks who don't have a clue about cryptocurrency use the banks to siphon money within, into and out of Nigeria.

I suspect even the EFCC was set up by a group of the elites who felt they weren't getting enough share of the cake so they used it as a tool of witch-hunt and we all know oga and oga go always jam, so now EFCC is just tossed left to right like a tennis ball.

EFCC coming out to say this is them begging a force higher than them and the political and business elites to help them arrest their owners ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ The EFCC already knows who and who dey run am but they can NEVER call names.

The brutal truth is that nobody is gonna help Nigeria not even Interpol because as long as Capitalism rules the world, corruption will always rule the world. Only the people can unite and stand up against the elites. Join MOP on IG and let's take back our country!

So none of our Capitalists have been moved to go into phone production when the raw materials are available from our neighbouring African countries.

That's the part I don't get about Nigerian Capitalist, they have the capital, Nigerian youths have the brains and Nigeria is a market waiting for them but they'd still rather go into real estate, salt, bottle water, alcohol, oil etc things that if they're not there another person will do, things that are hinged on survival.

How can that be the problem of Nigeria? Said "Oil and water" mix in our government to SUCCESSFULLY launder BILLIONS but poor and rich don't mix to launder billionaires. That should be your focus, CLASS CONSCIOUSNESS.

The problem of Nigeria is lack of organisation of the poor/middle class. Chinedu, Musa, Tobi are all struggling like you and I, to think it's another suffering human that's the cause of your problem is caveman-like.

Our common enemies are the political elites who play politics on an uneven playing ground, they organise and do years of planning how to turn us against each other through misinformation. The other enemy is the business elite who usually funds the political elites and works hand in hand with political elites to sell us goods and services that we can't afford. Do you know how much of your money entered that refinary? Part of the reason Nigerians are suffering right now is that place. Aside the official over $3b Nnpc paid to dangote as equity to ensure crude is refined for local consumption, that place was financed with cheap, lower than cbn rate dollars from cbn. Practically all the forex was given to dangote whole other busineses and industries suffered scarcity. Dangote practically ruined Nigeria, but the hope was that ultimately, the country will rip the fruits of it investments through stopping importation of petroleum products.
Where are we now? Dangote has started the place and he is focusing on exports, over 8m barrels of products exported without first servicing local demand or atleast easing the suffering.

I understand what youโ€™re saying, Iโ€™m also very โ€˜pro-agric' but don't you think you're being a little insensitive seeing that you're not living in Nigeria.

(1) Nigerians have to buy many day to day items eg fuel to move about which is imported with dollars, cooking gas is imported with dollars, maintenance like oil for your vehicles and other items are imported hence dollar dollar dollar.
(2) If you're into farming as a business and you don't want to be making inconsist harvest, you MUST use some techniques for your farming like fertilisers that are imported in dollars, local ones are also inflated (Demand n supply). What about your poultry? You don't feed them? price of feed go make u shout dollar dollar. If you buy protein outside, you sef go open your mouth shout dollar dollar dollar ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
