faceland: First of all, no. Traders will NOT artificially increase prices. The forces of supply and demand will. If the govt print more money, demand will increase and then inflation BUT if the govt rearrange their budget to reduce the salaries of those in higher levels including the political elites so they can afford the lower levels then same money in circulation so you have a stable economy. It's a class warfare. The elites vs the poor. In the private sector, sometimes I even wonder if those working in the private sector went to school. I've never heard of private workers forming unions. All they have to do is form a union to demand application of the minimum wage. I already gave a breakdown of the chain effects of this class warfare. It would lead to development in many new sectors because Capitalsm forces innovation. Capitalists in Nigeria don't have to innovate to make profit, they just have to use Nigerian workers as slaves. This is the difference between the Capitalism in the west and Nigeria - the salary we're paid. |

Politics / Re: β¦500,000 Minimum Wage: The Labour Union Are Unrealistic With Their Proposal by Babysho(m): 3:27pm On May 24 |
casualobserver: You guys don't see that everything is interconnected. If the govt allows 500k minimum wage, most likely they (senators/govs etc) had to reduce their salaries, benefits and budget for infrastructure and all that to pay salaries in the public sector. This means that these political elites will no longer be able to afford France for healthcare and that would mean lacing their boots to improve healthcare in Nigeria. They would not be able to invite foreign construction companies for inflated quotation and embezzle money, so they'd have to invest in local construction etc etc So you see the pattern? And so new jobs will be created. And in the private sector, those offloaded in an already overcrowded private sector will begin to find themselves in jobs that have been created from the government, jobs that are actually important for nation development like construction, healthcare etc. And it is in these sectors we should be having billionaires not only from oil. This would resemble the Japanese economy where there's low corruption and millions are middle/upper class while they have 40 billionaires or so and a few thousand poor people. But most of your political elites are not dumb. They're actually really smart, they understand class consciousness and they know what a little forgoing will do to the dynamics of Nigeria's inequitable wealth sharing. 1 Like |

helinues: Who even allowed this topic to hit front page? 98% of Nairalanders are not elites and I know you're not too. And that goes that show that you don't read, if not you would have heard about class consciousness. What is it to you to a poor man to oppose something that benefits you? Are you that broken? Let the political elites make the case, why asisst them? If Nigeria has to restructure its budget to provide for the citizens, then so be it. If it means the senators, governors and business elites will have to reduce their salaries and benefits to ensure minimum wage is at a level that allows people to live lives of dignity, so be it! Close that wealth gap and quit using Nigerians as slaves. Even white people come here, exploit us and pay Nigerians 40k. No such thing as inflation when the same amount of money is in circulation, it's propaganda. Open your eyes. 2 Likes |

It's funny that some on here are name calling NLC and saying 500k is too much. I can see that the psyche of poor Nigerians citizens are broken. NLC/Nigerian professionals are finally fighting the class warfare that's been due for years. If you don't have anything to add, why not just keep mute. 40 Likes 5 Shares |

Godjone: Ugly? Ladies and gentlemen, we found another brainwashed African man. This is what your Nigerian women actually should look like without applying carowhite and all sorts of other bleaching creams. Since 1884, some Nigerian women (the 2nd greatest volunteers for tool of white supremacy after some Nigerian men) remarkably endeavouring daily to look like the white woman with her hair wearing wigs and hot press, with her skin bleaching like onyara and then when all of that is not enough, they buy all the white made products to show white woman that she be "lady". I pick Ugandan women over Nigerian women 1billion times! 33 Likes 2 Shares |

budaatum: I agree and it's not even rocket science or anything. Even some of the political elites know this but if they implement these things, all of them will have to forgo their white man things. Because if they fix up the Nigerian refinery, how will they help white corporations remain oil billionaires so they(our elites) continue their work on being house slaves and receiving their dog's food share of that shady, degrading, short-sighted business deal? The solution is for the citizens to organise themselves and create their own political party. Kuti family already committed class suicide and joined the side of the people, and Seun Kuti continued the political party of his father The Movement Of The People. Please endeavour to join and let friends know. |
Politics / Re: Maintain Minimum Wage At N30,000.00 But Give Workers 3 Things??? by Babysho(m): 5:10pm On May 16 |
budaatum: There are actually a thousand ways that we can add value to the naira and I just gave one. I said if the government would REALLY invest in agriculture to the point that we feed ourselves and export. Yes we might accumulate debt at first but just like a business eventually you start making profit. But our political space is run by the elites who are white underneath the black skin and their focus is on exporting cash crops because Nigeria to them is not even their home, it's just a plantation for profit. All the ways to add value to the naira begins with the citizens taking back their country politically. Join MOPCENTRE on Instagram so we can liberate ourselves. |
Politics / Re: Maintain Minimum Wage At N30,000.00 But Give Workers 3 Things??? by Babysho(m): 2:40pm On May 16 |
KnowAll: There's nothing difficult about what you're proposing. In fact if you take a moment to understand how rich Nigeria and Africa really is, you'd see that Africans and Nigerians deserve to live like royalty that we are. Everything is already taken care of for us. We have lands and oil. What is inflation lol But the thing is, Africa is still enslaved and it has African elites as it's "civil servant to white corporations". Should Nigeria operate anything resembling a communist or socialist society, the white men will not be able to get their oil, labour, and other resource for cheap anymore and of course Nigerian elites will not be able to afford white men products to make themselves feel white. So you must understand that before you think economically, you must think politically. Anything you want from Africa is possible but we the citizens must organise politically to take back our nation, only then can we decide what economic system we want to adopt. In a Capitalist Nigeria, even simple price control will take a million meetings before it is then rejected lol FOLLOW MOPCENTRE ON INSTAGRAM, a political movement for the people. |

budaatum: Lol who are the people even liking your post. That's not how subsidy works. The government agency will buy cheap from farmers and sell cheap to citizens, then pay the farmers the subsidy (the balance) from our budget yearly or monthly. That will mean the government will probably have to accrue debts inorder to feed it's citizens and it's not a bad thing IF the Nigerian govt were also investing in agricultural sector to ensure that we can feed ourselves and eventually export so we pay back our debts. When such a thing happens, even N30k will have so much value for the common man. But Nigeria is operating a completely elitist govt, they don't give a damn about the citizens! Reminds me of Cheik Anta Diop description of Roman Empire in earlier times. Where the Patricians(elites) feasted every night whilst the plebs(citizens) were starving to death and refused ownership of land to even farm. Zooposki: You saying it is a white woman culture is absolutely right BUT just like every white culture we have copied, this too has unfortunately been copied through white individualism. Nigeria and Africa at large before white people intervened had a strong socialist structure at its core, keeping a secret or doing things in private is almost impossible. But ever since we've been building our homes with super high fences especially in the urban areas, giving kids access to phones at 13, even adults having phones with all that's online is an issue, maintaining individualistic mindsets(it's not my business), parents working long hours not paying attention to the kids, OLDER NIGERIAN WOMEN HAVE BEEN MOLESTING NIGERIAN BOYS. I know what my eyes have seen, I just can't say. But just like every other topic that does not bring profit for our media houses, it is underreported. Even in white countries it is highly under reported. When it becomes a thing, you'd be surprised how many cases per day you'll see. |

Politics / Re: Nigerian Workers Release Breakdown Of Proposed β¦β615,000 Minimum Wage by Babysho(m): 6:27am On May 04 |
I think 615,000 is a tad much. It should be somewhere around 80k but most importantly, what the NLC should be fighting for is price control so that even 80k will have so much value. And that's why I think investors love Nigeria, because we open our market to all sorts of foreigners and they set outrageous prices for goods because we don't have price control. Even our very own Dangote that we gave license to use our natural resources, we can't afford the things he created with our resources! 14 Likes 1 Share
