FlawlessKarl: As a Yoruba man, the truth is if we had Yoruba land, we can never consider Tinubu for presidency but because they wanted to win the fight against other tribes, any Yoruba at all would do, even the one of questionable identity. |
Politics / Re: Lagos Metro Official Addresses Passengers In Yoruba Language (Video) by Babysho(m): 6:42pm On Sep 13, 2023 |
OGHENAOGIE: Ok the dots again lol, you're entitled to your opinion. There are already features of liberalism in the progress Lagos enjoys today BUT the koko is to know where the important stuff lies. Like controlling government, land owning, tax. You create a welcoming environment for people to come and do business meanwhile they're actually enriching us. I'm not against both Yoruba and English announcements but going as far as to say to hell to potential investors who can't speak Yoruba out of spite is just unnecessary. Again, this is just my view. |

Christistruth00:I'm not against BOTH English and Yoruba announcements in Lagos. I'm against that guy that said if you can't speak Yoruba in Lagos to hell with you. It's not very welcoming for commerce, wouldn't you agree? |
Politics / Re: Lagos Metro Official Addresses Passengers In Yoruba Language (Video) by Babysho(m): 4:23pm On Sep 13, 2023 |
OGHENAOGIE: Firstly, I can't really take you seriously when you write "....." after every sentence. Improve. Secondly, I'M A YORUBA MAN. One of the advantages Lagos enjoys is being VERY COMMERCIAL down to spoken/written language (English) especially for foreign investors. You think it was easy for Taiye Taiwo to adapt to France? Language is usually a huge barrier. I think Lagos already has enough landmarks to show that it's a Yoruba state. Whoever says otherwise is a fool but going this way, from a strategic point seems like a lower hand for us. In the end, it's your opinion. |
Politics / Re: Lagos Metro Official Addresses Passengers In Yoruba Language (Video) by Babysho(m): 1:03pm On Sep 13, 2023 |
OGHENAOGIE: C'mon! Ethnic division is so shallow! Lagos is not a country. You're acting like our Ondo or Oyo State is doing better than the other regions. Many factors make Lagos what it is today. Lagos is enjoying being(it still is) the headquarters of colonialism(because of the strategic location to exploit and ship out our resources), coupled with being the centre of commerce due to said colonialism. Commerce means Easterners, Northerners come and can conduct business. Purposely changing the language used for transportation is 'anti-commerce'. This initial gra gra is not the way to glorify our Yoruba language. It's simply shooting ourselves in the foot. Even Benin was once a centre of commerce but na initial gra gra cos them to lose that privilege. Lagos too can lose it. |

Agriculture / Re: Why Can't Nigerian Farmers Have Organized Farms Like These? by Babysho(m): 3:44pm On Sep 05, 2023 |
Reflect7: You can't blame them, it's because the narrative is not the same as their reality. Palm tree plantation in Imo, Rice plantation in Kano, Plantain plantation in Nassarawa, this this in Kogi yet Nigerians don't eat 3 square meals. Why? It is because these foods that should serve Nigerians have been used as cash crops for foreign interests since colonialism so in a way they are correct; these plantations don't exist to us. What worries me the most is the level of consciousness of my people. By now I didn't expect to still be hearing BLACK race inferiority complex chants from BLACK PEOPLE. I keep explaining to my people to pick up books on our history so they can know who their enemies are. There's nothing wrong with the black race, just a few corrupted individuals in our leadership spaces. |
Agriculture / Re: Why Can't Nigerian Farmers Have Organized Farms Like These? by Babysho(m): 3:26pm On Sep 05, 2023 |
We have them in Nigeria but the produce are mostly cash crops for foreign interests and not to feed Africans so you can't really be eager to show it off. |

Fujiyama: “The VIS only collects cash - as if it is a bank.” This got me laughing hysterically. I’m sorry you went through that avoidable ordeal. Lagos still has in it’s systems, symptoms of the headquarters of colonialism where on the surface of it, it looks like it’s working but a closer look at the skeletal system, you’ll find rot and wickedness. Best described by a writer as a modern city with archaic systems…..and it doesn’t have to be so. The chain reaction of the expensive governments that don’t invest in the people is too aggressive. People begin to act wiser than God created them to. 1 Like |

This could be profitable only if Lagos government was a good govt. This is free advert for the BRTs, the ferries and the trains because people that never used them would try them now. If they have good experiences, it’s something they would opt for and drop their cars. But as a user, I can tell you the wait time for the BRTs is nothing to write home about. They’re always sluggish and allowing rogues cut in line. And I we still can’t top up the cards from our phones. 2/10 rating. |

There are some atom of truth in what he has said especially if he includes himself as being from time to time a partaker of the disempowerment of afrobeats but props to him as even his low quota of music synonymous to our reality is still the highest in the music industry. The origin of fela’s afrobeats was 90% political issues and 10% flenjour. Our reality is the same as back then but somehow we’re having 90% flenjour and 10% political music. How has this happened? If you asked me I'd say the political elites realised how powerful music can be and as a precaution, they've weaned and filtered out the true political or rebellious sounds to the sewers, pushing forward the garbage we have now. It didn’t happen by randomness, someone put conscious effort into making it so. If you’re looking for music close to our reality, please stream and listen to my song O.Z - Stalemate on audiomack https://audiomack.com/ozencore/song/stalemate Please like and comment on the song❤️❤️ 2 Likes 1 Share |

madone: Would the lady not be controlling? Will she not demean the man in every way possible when there's a little misunderstanding? Man is wired to have pride in providing food for his family. I don't know but I don't think it ends well if it's a dominant man. The man will have to have very low self esteem and confidence for it to work. Men committing suicide are actually dominant men but not enough to dominate and they have my respect, as it takes a lot of balls to commit suicide. It’s natural selection, only the strongest of the strongest survive. Not in any form supporting suicide btw. I just believe if you can’t help a man be his best self, don’t ask him not to take his life. |

Skyview01: Because there's oil money. They'll use it to buy food, thereby giving something that isn't special and grows everywhere in the world same value as oil. Is that not foolishness? That was how one fool was arguing with me on here that he'd rather have us do oil than agriculture. I knew then that some Nigerians' bodies are moving faster than their brains due to the effects of colonialism. The necessities of man is FOOD WATER and SHELTER not OIL. All over the world, countries get at least one or two right, maybe just some like the Nordic countries get all three right and it's no surprise these countries are the most peaceful in the world. When you have 2 or 3 of those necessities easily, everybody mind go rest. Na only Africa no get any one o. Last necessity na air, thank God say e no dey our African leaders hand, na for museum white people for dey go look black people skeleton by now. |

Taylor90: (1)But even if each tribe had their own country, there will come up the issue of religion. Muslim versus Christian. If each religion in each tribe decided to break and have their own country, there will come up the issue of accent/tone because as a Yoruba I can tell you there are many Yoruba-ish Languages I don't understand a single word they say. If they all decided to form little settlements because I'm sure at that point they can't be called countries again, they might become too weak to defend themselves and they'll be conquered and back to square one. (2)Land sharing (for oil) will surely lead to a great civil war. How do we overcome these challenges? |

Since we all concluded that white people came to Africa to exploit us and the very first thing they came with was Christianity, maybe Nigerian Christians should plus 2+2. Why would your opppresors introduce you to a religion with an almighty God that could empower you, the oppressed!!?? There's a God, yes, but I think people need to find him themselves in their own spirituality not through men or sheets of paper. Let them do fast o, so all of us can gain a new level of consciousness and fight the govt wey dey make you wake 4:30am to speak in tongues. We no pass like 1k for naija wey inner eyes don open.
