As Original Akwa Ibom son, from ONNA Local government, Ikot Edor Village. I want to state categorically, that Yorubas are the major problem of this sick country. They contributes to about 89% of the problems that bedeviled this country. My maximum respect to the few rational Yorubas.

How on earth will someone see a disaster like Tinubu and went ahead to vote because of tribal and religious sentiment.

The earlier we divide and go our separate ways the better. They can make Tinubu their life Yoruba nation president, who cares. This crook is embodiment of disgrace to this nation. Thief and crook with dilapidated body.

As a Yoruba man, the truth is if we had Yoruba land, we can never consider Tinubu for presidency but because they wanted to win the fight against other tribes, any Yoruba at all would do, even the one of questionable identity.

whether u are Yoruba man is immaterial... U are trying to be a f**kin liberalist... Lagos is Yoruba land and I don't see what's wrong in what is been done it doesn't stop her cosmopolitan nature still.. Taiwo adapted so why can't pple adapt to Yoruba...

Ok the dots again lol, you're entitled to your opinion.

There are already features of liberalism in the progress Lagos enjoys today BUT the koko is to know where the important stuff lies. Like controlling government, land owning, tax. You create a welcoming environment for people to come and do business meanwhile they're actually enriching us.

I'm not against both Yoruba and English announcements but going as far as to say to hell to potential investors who can't speak Yoruba out of spite is just unnecessary.

Again, this is just my view.

Why are they not also in Yoruba and Hausa. ?
I'm not against BOTH English and Yoruba announcements in Lagos. I'm against that guy that said if you can't speak Yoruba in Lagos to hell with you. It's not very welcoming for commerce, wouldn't you agree?

stop writing useless Epistles... Lagos is Yoruba land till the world end... Anyone who can't adapt should get lost simple... Taiye taiwo left nigeria to play in France and learnt french language that after many Match for Olympic marsaile he was interviewed in French... We don't even use residence in Nigeriai for u to say Lagos isn't someone else State... That Lagos is a comment capital doesn't stop it being Yoruba land... Kano is Hausa land despite being a commercial city and cosmopolitan like Lagos... Can u try d rubbish u try in Lagos to call it no man's land...

Firstly, I can't really take you seriously when you write "....." after every sentence. Improve.

Secondly, I'M A YORUBA MAN.

One of the advantages Lagos enjoys is being VERY COMMERCIAL down to spoken/written language (English) especially for foreign investors. You think it was easy for Taiye Taiwo to adapt to France? Language is usually a huge barrier.

I think Lagos already has enough landmarks to show that it's a Yoruba state. Whoever says otherwise is a fool but going this way, from a strategic point seems like a lower hand for us.

In the end, it's your opinion.

C'mon! Ethnic division is so shallow! Lagos is not a country. You're acting like our Ondo or Oyo State is doing better than the other regions.

Many factors make Lagos what it is today. Lagos is enjoying being(it still is) the headquarters of colonialism(because of the strategic location to exploit and ship out our resources), coupled with being the centre of commerce due to said colonialism. Commerce means Easterners, Northerners come and can conduct business. Purposely changing the language used for transportation is 'anti-commerce'.

This initial gra gra is not the way to glorify our Yoruba language. It's simply shooting ourselves in the foot. Even Benin was once a centre of commerce but na initial gra gra cos them to lose that privilege. Lagos too can lose it.

BoldBrainz:
Are you people mad in this country?

Why do we just keep majoring in trifles? What is the essence of a power outage reporting App when the power itself is largely non-existent? Does NERC and the FG require daily reports from citizens to know that Nigerians are lacking electricity? This is the only country where the slightest indication of rainfall amounts to total blackout, for reasons they have never bothered to explain to the populace. It's currently raining in Gwarimpa Abuja, and the power has been out for over 2hours now. By the time the rain fades, it's going to take another two days for AEDC to dry high tension cables and transformers .

Instead of prioritising electricity improvement, una dey launch App to report unavailability of light. E be like na Ogun wan kill una papa!

O ti ya werey ni..😡?!

They’re not talking about me and you. They’re talking about their elitist friends living in Ikeja GRA and Ikoyi. They actually have close to 24/7 electricity in those environs.

When has the Nigerian govt ever done anything for the masses? Lol

Welcome to Nairaland where the biggest illiterates and ignorant school dropouts have the loudest voices and strongest illiterate opinions.

One Moro.n got over 100 likes for his DAFT comment about “Ghana produces cocoa but can’t make chocolate because the black man is incapable of…” whatever whatever.

The ignorant pea brains don’t know the western nations where the demand for chocolate is high, have imposed impossibly high tariffs on chocolate and processed cocoa imported from Africa since over a CENTURY ago.

Forum of ignorants.

You can't blame them, it's because the narrative is not the same as their reality. Palm tree plantation in Imo, Rice plantation in Kano, Plantain plantation in Nassarawa, this this in Kogi yet Nigerians don't eat 3 square meals. Why? It is because these foods that should serve Nigerians have been used as cash crops for foreign interests since colonialism so in a way they are correct; these plantations don't exist to us.

What worries me the most is the level of consciousness of my people. By now I didn't expect to still be hearing BLACK race inferiority complex chants from BLACK PEOPLE. I keep explaining to my people to pick up books on our history so they can know who their enemies are. There's nothing wrong with the black race, just a few corrupted individuals in our leadership spaces.

We have them in Nigeria but the produce are mostly cash crops for foreign interests and not to feed Africans so you can't really be eager to show it off.

Their agents are here but they will never ever take your customer feedback and act on it. Their job here is to waste everyone else's time with endless 'hyping' of their masters - calling black white and expecting us all to concur.

I renewed my vehicle certificate of roadworthiness today and collected my documents after inspection of the vehicle. The rot in lagos vehicle inspection service (VIS) is something else:

The VIS only collects cash - as if it is a bank. No other mode of payment accepted. undecided

The VIS does not have its schedule of charges and fees boldly pasted anywhere for the public to see - you have to ask how much a service costs and you are given an amount by word of mouth...as if we are buying tomatoes in the market. undecided

The VIS never, ever issues any official receipts for payments made. There is no record whatsoever. And this is a government agency? undecided

And so on. This nonsense has been on for years. It isn't likely to end anytime soon - because the governor prefers to travel to London to watch football, instead of you know, actually governing. undecided

I went to Alausa to challenge them on this. Nothing came out of it - because the rot is from the very top. Instead of cleaning up their garbage, they keep looking for new ways to cheat and defraud the public. Their latest scam now is that the (PoC) Proof of Ownership Certificate (which used to be a one time issue) is now renewable annually - at additional cost. Absolutely no value has been added to motorists/car owners with this change to an annually renewable PoC...it is just another means of fleecing people.

We voted them in and we will keep paying the price. Every damn day.

“The VIS only collects cash - as if it is a bank.” This got me laughing hysterically.

I’m sorry you went through that avoidable ordeal. Lagos still has in it’s systems, symptoms of the headquarters of colonialism where on the surface of it, it looks like it’s working but a closer look at the skeletal system, you’ll find rot and wickedness. Best described by a writer as a modern city with archaic systems…..and it doesn’t have to be so.

The chain reaction of the expensive governments that don’t invest in the people is too aggressive. People begin to act wiser than God created them to.

This could be profitable only if Lagos government was a good govt. This is free advert for the BRTs, the ferries and the trains because people that never used them would try them now. If they have good experiences, it’s something they would opt for and drop their cars.

But as a user, I can tell you the wait time for the BRTs is nothing to write home about. They’re always sluggish and allowing rogues cut in line. And I we still can’t top up the cards from our phones. 2/10 rating.

There are some atom of truth in what he has said especially if he includes himself as being from time to time a partaker of the disempowerment of afrobeats but props to him as even his low quota of music synonymous to our reality is still the highest in the music industry.

The origin of fela’s afrobeats was 90% political issues and 10% flenjour. Our reality is the same as back then but somehow we’re having 90% flenjour and 10% political music.

How has this happened? If you asked me I'd say the political elites realised how powerful music can be and as a precaution, they've weaned and filtered out the true political or rebellious sounds to the sewers, pushing forward the garbage we have now. It didn’t happen by randomness, someone put conscious effort into making it so.

This is what I try to make men understand on this forum but most of them can't spot it.
Some weeks ago a very successful woman wanted to jump into the lagoon cos of man. That is just one out of many who have gone beyond just thinking suicide to attempting it. This is another successful lady thinking about settling down. My point still remains that being successful will not make a woman forget or kill her need of a man. Am not talking about the perverts who claim feminist online but are craving for a man's touch. My advice is this guys look beyond social media groom yourself, work hard and be ready for the future. 7 women will still say let us bear your name we don't need your money. Please guys don't die now stay alive for the future.

Would the lady not be controlling? Will she not demean the man in every way possible when there's a little misunderstanding? Man is wired to have pride in providing food for his family. I don't know but I don't think it ends well if it's a dominant man.
The man will have to have very low self esteem and confidence for it to work.

Men committing suicide are actually dominant men but not enough to dominate and they have my respect, as it takes a lot of balls to commit suicide. It’s natural selection, only the strongest of the strongest survive. Not in any form supporting suicide btw. I just believe if you can’t help a man be his best self, don’t ask him not to take his life.

Why is food expensive in Nigeria?

We have good farm lands for farming and rain at the right season.

Can somebody tell me why farming is not prioritized in Nigeria?

Because there's oil money. They'll use it to buy food, thereby giving something that isn't special and grows everywhere in the world same value as oil. Is that not foolishness?

That was how one fool was arguing with me on here that he'd rather have us do oil than agriculture. I knew then that some Nigerians' bodies are moving faster than their brains due to the effects of colonialism.

The necessities of man is FOOD WATER and SHELTER not OIL. All over the world, countries get at least one or two right, maybe just some like the Nordic countries get all three right and it's no surprise these countries are the most peaceful in the world. When you have 2 or 3 of those necessities easily, everybody mind go rest. Na only Africa no get any one o.

The rubbish we take from these politicians is just because of different tribes and beliefs FORCED together as one

Imagine a Nigeria where there’s no Igbo mixed with Hausa and Yoruba

Like Arewa country is mainly Northerners and a northern president do nonsense

All Hausas will rally up in one mind and protest like there’s no tomorrow

Same with Igbo and Yorubas as respective countries and their leaders do rubbish

They’ll hit the street in one accord

But Nigeria with three major tribes that don’t work together can’t achieve a single agreement

Yoruba leader will instigate their people against any protest by Igbo or Hausa vice versa and tell them this is a political ploy to dethrone Tinubu

THE ONLY SOLUTION TO NIGERIA IS DISINTEGRATION

EVERY TRIBE HAVE YOUR OWN COUNTRY

(1)But even if each tribe had their own country, there will come up the issue of religion. Muslim versus Christian. If each religion in each tribe decided to break and have their own country, there will come up the issue of accent/tone because as a Yoruba I can tell you there are many Yoruba-ish Languages I don't understand a single word they say. If they all decided to form little settlements because I'm sure at that point they can't be called countries again, they might become too weak to defend themselves and they'll be conquered and back to square one.

(2)Land sharing (for oil) will surely lead to a great civil war.

How do we overcome these challenges?
