Seun, the naked, continuous attempt to run interference for Tinubu's administration is nauseating.

Can you at least pretend to be fair or balanced?

There are topics referencing yesterday's drop from ~660 to ~770. You and your mods refused to move them to the FP.

Yet, three hours after the I&E window closed today, you're personally pushing a deliberately flawed narrative to whitewash a troubling development.

Tinubu met the rate at 460. The rate is currently 756. In only 3 weeks. Some would argue that is an early indictment of the so-called
Tinubunomics. But hell will freeze over before you draw attention to anything that remotely suggests that.

You are part of the nation's intelligentsia. Act like it. You're not some no-name blogger whose sole priority is to push political talking points for breadcrumbs.

-Lord

I dropped my phone and applauded, sir.

I read in Chinua Achebeโ€™s โ€˜There Was A Countryโ€™ that the Yoruba intellectuals who should have immediately opposed the tribalism of blaming Igbo people for the coup and steady dilapidation of the system prior to the Biafran war, were actually the ones fanning the flame, probably for selfish benefits. Even the Yoruba intellectuals in media like him! As a Yoruba, I was baffled.

We must be careful how we use the word intelligentsia. True intelligentsias would look at their history books and see the synonyms in their character to past traitors. How can one be part of the intelligentsia in Nigeria and still be mixed up in tribalism nonsense? What intelligentsia is easily convinced to push false narratives for such shallow benefits?

We are in Chapter Two of APC's New York Best Seller Book, Titled; 'How to Kill Nigerians While They Hype You!'

Thats your own copy of the book!

Man, I love this your post so much!!

Oyinbo said if you push a man to the wall, he may react desperately but they didn't say about when you push a man to the wall and then bash his skull into the wall so he's brain-dead like Tinubu is doing some Nigerians.

It's almost like a simulation; fools celebrating as thieves appoint their thieving brothers, then one clown posts up their profile, whilst the country plummets. Same format since 1999.

The country is sinking because oil thieves are walking freely in daylight. The country is sinking because Dangote and Otedola who still bought Rolls-Royce last week owe Nigeria billions of naira. The country is sinking because the cost of running the govt itself is unsustainable.

When Nigerians go even do this Revolution thing wey the entire world don do for equity. The monthly salary of a senator is far above her yearly pay as someone working in the healthcare. Haba! The gap is too much.

In terms of pricing, it is possible that petrol prices will fall a little with less demand if many Nigerians switch to gas to fuel their cars and generators, but what will happen to the price of gas with the high demand? You expect price of gas to remain below N700 per kg?

Thank you for your last sentence. Nigerians will use all sorts of skills and stupidity to shy away from revolution.

I saw some people here saying they'll fight the boss till their last breath, saying one of them will meet heaven that day. All na mouth because the Nigerian govt rapes you everyday and you do NOTHING.

Some of you even go through something very similar at work but because you're paid N200k, you keep quiet, your dignity is for sale.

Make it make sense. The Otedolas n Dangote's owe us trillions of naira through AMCON, the salaries n benefits of the govt officials is outrageous BUT the first place the govt turn to save money is from we the absolutely poor Nigerian people through subsidy removal.

Clear evidence that you can push a Nigerian to the wall and even use his head to break the wall.

Its d system that works in those countries. Why didnt you cite countries like china, UAE, Saudi, North Korea or even South Korea. Western countries are more of conquered territories where they still live with native inhabitants. Many of the countries mentioned above have the native inhabitants as the original owners. Settlers and visitors cant come and determine the pattern of leadership in those places. Same goes to many African countries, trying to force your western style of leadership where ANYBODY from nowhere can come and become their President is an invitation for WAR.

You're bending the narrative to fit your story.

The system of government we're operating is very similar to the Europeans. The culture of politics is very similar to that of Britain as Nigeria was it's colony.

In Lagos, before your balls dropped, Igbos were governors.

I can't understand where this selfishness of power is even coming from. Isn't Osun State and Ondo State underdeveloped just like some other states in Nigeria. This should reveal to you that what matters is where the heart of the leader is not his tribe. Do you know some of our Yoruba leaders are more European than Nigerian/Yoruba at heart?

Pick up any book on your African history and up your consciousness my brother. Pan-Africanism is the only way. We need you.

I'm a bonafide south south boy but let's face it- based on those figures, APC no too chop Nigeria's money.

What Jonathan's administration spent for subsidy for 4 years is almost double what Buhari spent for 7 years.

If you divide Buhari's figure, it is lower than what Yaradua spent in 2 years and what Obasanjo spent in a year.

APC may have its problems but you have to admit that their subsidy figure is the lowest in the history of Nigeria.

The data also shows that Buhari's major problem may not have been misappropriation of funds but he couldn't run the economy well. The percentage the naira fell during Buhari's era is scary.

At least under Jonathan, we can point fingers to who and who did it

I totally agree. He and his fellow entertainers can be likened to mere jesters that put on a show for the kings in the mediaeval times. They fool and make mockery of themselves so they can be tossed a coin or two by the king. Afterwards, the king taxes the people including the jesters 3 coins. Lol.

In 2023, equity is worse and the people have been thrown into convulsive depression which means they need the jesters more now to forget their hardship. They made the jesters important. Imagine if we didn't..

(EDITED)
I think I just got a revelation of a theory. What if every single act of the masses especially one that is oppressed is an act of shying away from revolution. For example, the masses thrown into depression and hardship BY THE KING for his 3 coins tax ought to fight him and NOT try find solace in the jesters. That's shying away from the real issue and it'll continue for a million years.

We need to quit listening to music and watching movies. They're not art. They're coping mechanisms. A few months deprived of these things WILL trigger a revolution.

Evergreen4:
The subsidy that was removed from kerosene, diesel and gas, what did they use it for. Subsidizing fuel is the only way we the common masses enjoy anything from the government if not the politicians share our common patrimony amongst themselves. Before removing subsidy, government should make thinks easier by fixing up refineries, ensure stable power supply and improve transportation by providing workable rail system. All the time our government keep comparing the price of fuel in Nigerian to the price of fuel in Saudi Arabia but they don't compare the rail way and stable power being enjoyed by the Saudi's. Government should continue paying the subsidy and reduce the cost of governance. Salaries and allowance of legislators should be reduced, the office of minister of state should be collapsed and if possible we should practice a unicameral legislature by scrapping the senate. If am this is done, they will save cost

A colonial master wannabe who confessed openly that he increased the salaries of the judiciary in Lagos by insane amounts to curb corruption is who you're expecting to scrap the senate? He'd rather increase their salaries to save cost.

Fuel for car is at the new rate of N500/ltr, my car is a 70ltr car tank..

Auto maintenance is basic brake pads, shocks, service 2mths, tire guage, police pr, tire purchase if any, minor touch ups etc... nothing major.

Fuel for generator is 20ltr/day (2hrs or less daily)

I need help.... how are you people doing it, what am i doing wrong? The rat race is killing me..

First of all, there are so many articles about how your annual rent shouldn't be more than 2 months of your salary. You should begin looking for a 1 bedroom that cost less than 800k and everything will begin to make sense. Some bedrooms are large enough for both work n bedroom.

This one just go write thesis because of small question.

Instead of demeaning the education because it's beyond you, why not just read it and keep quiet. For what it is worth, I hope it raises your consciousness.

Capitalism is the reason you're waking up at 4:30am to go work for somebody/yourself and returning home at odd hours. Capitalism is the reason you're bound to do this routine for life.

The Capitalism competition is unnecessary and it is literally after your life, because if you lose patapata, you no go fit chop... simply because one guy won build or buy flying car.

Let me explain this part above. Since Capitalism na about who get there first and I can do what I want, even plant wey dey grow on e own wey suppose provide food for you to just sleep wake up and eat and sleep back, one man don go collect am as per Capitalist, collect the one wey dey e compound too con use your own swap for flying car. Now, instead make you sleep taya for sweet life wey u come, you go stand dey monitor your tree 24/7 (going to work everyday).
Business / Re: Is Lagos The Best Place For Dangote Refinery? by Babysho(m): 5:31pm On May 23, 2023
Flangelo12:

What is wrong with capitalism?

If you were given the visa to USA today, tell us you wouldn't go.

What makes you think I haven't already visited USA? Besides, what's the point with your question? Why not use Angola or Sudan, also capitalist countries.

Use this phrase as a guideline when you think of Capitalism -- "Just because you can doesn't mean you should"

CAPITALISM
The question should be what isn't wrong with Capitalism? Capitalism is a forced concept by European elites that allows them to do and take/use whatever belongs to the populace whilst impoverishing that populace. Capitalists pay peanuts to the populace, introduce insane working hours which we do for years, so they(Capitalists) can live anyhow and create waste.
Capitalists use our commonwealth/natural resources to create their wealth, so why do a few people get to decide what to do with our resources with go-ahead from the govt... because the Government is an extension of Capitalists/Elites in a Capitalist system.

Let me explain further why Capitalism is an elitist tool for exploitation. If capitalists could have their way, they would use our resources to build enterprise and make immense profit without employing a single person. Capitalists do it for themselves not for you. In Capitalism, there's always the winning side and the losing side instead of humanity side. Africa is losing Capitalism because USA/Europe is winning Capitalism. Dangote and a few MDs are winning Capitalism but a huge amount of Nigerians are losing Capitalism.

IMPERIALISM
Capitalism birthed colonialism/imperialism. Imperialism is Capitalism but on another nation's soil. Capitalism allows European Capitalists come into Nigeria and take natural resources, use it for enterprise, SIMPLY FOR PROFIT. Imperialism is insanity because initially blacks didn't have employment at European companies in Nigeria exploiting Nigerian resources SIMPLY for white profit. Does it make any sense? "Just because you can doesn't mean you should"

COMMUNISM/SOCIALISM
The idea in Karl Marx's Communism is for EVERYBODY, through the central authority, to decide what is best use for our resources, regardless of whatever innovative/passionate ideas individuals have. And the enterprise we decide on, everybody through the central authority decide working conditions and we all will be paid equally.
Under communism, enterprise is built for employment/comfort of the people not for profit. There are no poor people in Karl Marx's Communism.

Profit drives people crazy. Capitalism is why we're going to the moon with tax payers money amounting billions of dollars when there are poor people all over. "Just because you can doesn't mean you should"

The only thing you should be doing is scrutinizing that refinery and itโ€™s health hazards, not defending it.
