I mistakenly bought a Nigerian used Honda civic 2005 2 years ago, there's nothing I didn't change in this car,

Gearbox
Power steering pump
Complete Rear hub with brake drums as it didn't come with one.
Front hubs
Kick starter
Front stabilizer rod bar as it didn't come with it.
Front brake disc
Ac compressor
Evaporator
Condenser
Front full lights
Rear lights
Front bumper



I was just visiting mechanic shop every weekend as there will be one thing or the other to fix.

I spent almost the money I used to buy the car to fix one or two issues as issues kept coming up.

I later sold the car after one year.

I saw people gathered around him around onipanu in the BRT lane early sunday morning while i was going to yaba, I was even thinking he was knocked down by a car.
RIP to the deceased.

I also have this experience with my 2008 highlander AWD also.

The sound comes from the rear.

It always happens after coasting when you press the accelerator pedal again.

I have not even taken it for checks because i'm afraid kazeems can add more to this issue.

Been driving it like that for 2 years plus, its only noticeable on the highway around 80 -100km/h.

I have this AWD RX330 and I noticed that when I coast and then accelerate there is a single jerk as the gear just banged in or something, aside from that there are no check engine light or VSC on. The transmission aside from this occasional jerk performs superbly (no slipping or delays or noise of any kind) I have done a tranny oil change early last year. This single jerk has always been there since I imported the car.

I some times feel that this maybe coming from the transfer case, maybe the transfer chain/belt has a slack during coasting and when you accelerate the slack tightens suddenly and causes the jerk. or does auto tranny clutch disengaged when a car is coasting? This is just a theory. I have gone online to check and discovered that most car make his this particular issue.

Can any of the auto gurus offer a remedy to this?

I drive a toyota matrix 2005 with a p0012 code which is timing over retarded intake cam.

The top has been opened by the previous owner so I suspect the timing must have been tampered.

The engine does hard starting occasionally and also loss of power.

Kindly link me with an experienced mechanic that can inspect the engine.

I have serviced the VVT Solenoid but the problem persists.

I live at abule egba area.

Please where did you buy this and where is your mechanic, i have a similar issue with my car.

Thank you I bought the Belgium one, and the car is fine now.

Some part of the damper that holds the chain got broken the chain was moving freely, and the part of the damper that broke, caused defect on one of the gear of the camshaft the one at the back precisely.

So I had to change Damper, sprocket, and one complete camshaft.

Everything is working fine now. I hope it will last.

Aside from wrong/improper timing, it could also be that the camshaft phasor has been welded permanently with the camshaft. It could even be due to dirty oil or blocked oil fees orifice in the valvetrain, who knows. It will definitely need physical assessment.


Is there grinding noise at the top of the engine?

The MPG is around 16mpg against 25MPG

Greetings to all the great engineers in the house, I have a toyota matrix 2005 with P0012 code(timing over retarded intake cam) I have serviced the vvti solenoid but the code came back. Engine has been opened by previous user. I experience hard starting once the engine is cold also poor mpg.

I need a competent mechanic to help me open the engine to check if the timing is right before looking out for other things.

Or what is the best way to tackle this issue.

I had an experience with those ones around April, I was at fault though but they won't even pity someone, they guy deliberately make attempt to crush me but I was lucky it was only my rear bumper that got affected.

God saved me that day.
