It's only a Line that Vic said at the end that made it clear...more like multiverse and staying in a verse to perfect the beings

When a season starts with small character conflicts with the potential to escalate into a Civil war...

And in just 9 episodes, it ends with a world-ending threat with the same characters fighting for the fate of humanity

Then you know there is a problem with the pacing and writing of the season...

Was it episode 8 or 9 when Jayce suddenly started talking about uniting for fight for all of humanity...that was when the show completely lost me.

I began to question how we got here. Whether I skipped some episodes or something

Anyway, when I have time and gather my thoughts fully, I should post a full review of the season...

Maybe I'm dûmb, but I finished the entire Arcane series and I still don't know what exactly The Arcane is.

Yes, we cried that there were less fight but not to sacrifice the story and theme. I don't understand anything in this season 2, the worst series cuz they started saying new words that made no meaning to season 1, it would have been good if they would explain them in subsequent seasons but no, they had to rush this story into a plot i don't understand. Ekko just found himself in another world abi na time, same with Mel lost in one yeye black rose. Wetin be rose, Westin be arcane, wetin cause ambessa vengeance, why bring back vander just to finish their lazy writing, so many questions left unanswered but to find a reason to add new terms to justify their lazy writing. He no go bad if it was well paced and new words explained, ambessa back story, true meaning of arcane, jinx magical prowess and ekko's creative drive.
Wasted characters, writing and brand.

Season 2 of Arcane was visually great and even the music was great

But the story was deeply flawed. Season 2 was style without substance.

And it's good enough for those willing to shut their brain off and enjoy the unearned emotional bait scenes...
But any analysis of the writing and the whole thing falls apart.

I think it could have worked if they had one more season instead of rushing all the plotlines.

Personally I liked episode 7 in isolation. I wasn't a fan of different realities/universes but I still think it was executed well.

The episode still revealed the motivation of Jayce, but they shouldn't have wasted an episode on all that when there were only 2 more episodes to end the show.

Also, Jayce's speech to Viktor at the end contradicts his actions in episode 6. In episode 6 his first thought was to immediately kill Viktor...

In episode 9, he suddenly remembered his encounter with Jayce that led him here and what he was meant to say...

I just cannot forgive the writers for what they did to the Piltover and Zaun plotline.

Why abandon all that to pursue some alien cosmic godlike plot and the useless Black Rose plotline that had nothing to do with the story.

The nonsense they did with Mel's character is unforgivable

Ambessa was a boss...

She would never have lost without the useless Black Rose magic subplot

Finished Arcane season 2 and oh boy...

I kept asking myself if I was watching the same show...

It's almost like the writers forgot what made the show special in the first place.

The show turned into something else

I praised season 1 for it's intricate character writing, the way it handed it's character conflicts and how these were connected to the conflict between Piltover and Zuan

Season 2 abandons everything and just goes off the rails.

The entire conflict of Piltover and Zaun take a backstage despite the season starting with it. It made everything including Silco's struggles in season 1 completely meaningless since it didn't matter anymore to the plot...

The whole Black Rose thing and Victor's arc was very much not needed in season 2 but in a subsequent season 3. The whole pacing was off... everything rushed

What a way to throw out everything that made the show special...

I haven't even watched the finale yet I've been seeing posts all over Reddit cooking the finale...some calling it Game of Thrones season 8 level of bad...

Trying to avoid spoilers sha...until I watch and form my own opinion...


I don't even believe a show can be as bad as GOT S8...so I'm sure they are overreacting to flaws or they just didn't get what they expected...so don't worry

Definitely you two don't understand that plot of dune.
Dune 1 and 2 and it's season... despite the fact that they're trying to give 80% flesh to characters and story.. they still can't do it.. there's too many questions to ask and too many stories to talk about.

If they are given time and fund... episode 1 should last 3 hours to give us full satisfaction to understanding the full plot of episode 1

The don't want to be to too quick to judge it, but it would have been better if they had released two episode first to actually get everyone immersed in it.

In my view, it was a drag and drab. Only three scenes actually stood out, when 'the voice' was used, the forbidden tech and the end. I get it's just the pilot, but it didn't just have legs.

Hopefully the next episodes will be much more lively.

It's a slowburn pilot.

They should have used a 2-3 episodes pilot to hook the Audience.

But the end of episode 1 has me interested tho

I was surprised that the writers recalling Vander, when I first saw the different colored eyeballs I initially thought Silco until he called her Powder.

Secondly I think Vander's 'recall', if anything was to unite the sisters together, as they have drifted apart. Since Jinx is already a street icon, with Vi on her side, they will take on topside.

Yes, Isha killed Vander but everything started with the death of Victor by a topsider Jayce.

In beginning of the 6th episode, there was a conversation between Sky and Victor, and I think(I dont know for certain ) that the Jayce that came out of the wild rune
1. Is another version of Jayce.
2. Is controlled by the wild rune.

Also, while Isha isn't attached to the main story, there are 'mini' characters that fans are generally gravitate towards. So it isn't far fetched this her death(shey na boy Abi na girl Isha be sef?) brings out emotions.

On your second point, that is exactly my issue with Vander's return. He was a plot device to unite the sisters rather than seeming like an actual character. His return didn't serve any purpose to the story other than a cheap way to get the sisters to unite.
There was so much hype as to his powers and how pivotal it would be to the plot but we saw nothing on screen.

He was said to be important but not shown to be important to the overall plot.

Yes about Jayce. But we don't really know for sure what happened to Jayce that made him kill Viktor...so it's very vague and it's hard to feel any emotion for something like that...

And maybe you can enlighten me what exactly was the purpose of Viktor's entire arc as "Hextech Jesus"?

I am indeed speaking for myself.

I also acknowledged that some people cried at her death but stated why I didn't feel much when she died.

And it was because she was barely a character. Showing montages at her death does not suffice to make me care a lot about her.

I'll post a screenshot of a good criticism I found on the Arcane subreddit today that really sums up my issues with the writing of season 2 of Arcane.

For some of us, simply giving emotional music is not enough.
It's a case of trying to reap without sowing

Yes.

Although the series is a prequel, you would still require some knowledge of the movies for some context.

90% people watching arcade don't really give AF about Vander, Even in S1 he's not an important character

Yeah being a kid perhaps made people care about her much. And a cute one. No one likes watching innocent kids die in media.

She doesn't serve any importance to the plot...but she serves to Jinx...

I didn't want her to die...but her death is nowhere near enough to make me feel very sad because we weren't given much to work with on her character.


I never cared much about Vander in season 1. I thought he was decent but so much more could have been done with him to make his "death" hurt so much, but they didn't.

Now he has returned and likely died immediately too and I'm left confused about the purpose of even bringing him back aside to reconnect VI and Jinx.

They make him seem like a convenient plot device rather than a character...

Honestly I'm more likely to feel the most sad if Ambressa dies than anyone else in the show...
She's been the best character this season

It will likely end either open-endedly or with various loose plot threads...

Or maybe the other planned series set in the Arcane world would tie up other loose ends...

Maybe I should also have faith in the writers. They could still pull it off and tie up everything in 3 episodes somehow...

It won't matter anyway...give fans good music and most will overlook any issue...

E.g the writing in this season has been pretty weak but people were apparently crying because of episode 6...

Vander? He's been out since season 1 episode 3 and was reintroduced suddenly and he is somehow very important for some vague reason...

Isha? She's barely a character and her only relevance is tied to Jinx. She doesn't even serve any purpose to the plot...
I genuinely don't believe any fan truly cares about her because there's barely any reason to aside the fact that she's cute...

Viktor? His death was actually sad but also confusing since we are in the dark as to why Jayce suddenly killed Viktor...
So it's more of conflicting...

Good music and a montage of Isha who no one really cares about and some people are crying...
No wonder they doubled down on the music this season...

I don't even see where the Mel plotline is going or why the writers made her survive the bomb...

Edit: I even forgot that Ekko existed.

I just hope they tie it all together in a satisfying way...

Ambressa Medarda so far is the most interesting character this season...

I hope she gets everything she wants. She's my favorite character in the show...and I fully support her

Honestly it just depends on the people making the trailers.

I've seen great trailers that barely spoil anything. You can still be hyped without knowing what the movie is all about.

But this trailer in particular literally put the entire plot of the movie

I've seen Aot to season 3 and I tell I was really into it, I was only watching for the hype therefore it was very easy for me to do away with it as I wasn't so intrigued .. but JJK just has me yearning for the next episode ..


That's what I basically want when I'm seeing animes ... I cant be doing mysteries when I'm seeing animes, I want battles, actions , fight scenes after fight scenes ..

If I need Mystery solving shows, I'd take that in a proper movie or series ..

Why the fvck would I be doing mysteries in animes, that's would be a lingering borefest ...


Again, AOT is a shitshow ..

So if I recommend shows like Monster, you would also call it a shîtshow...
