Ah yes..the classic "The movie was actually bad on purpose"

But this time, there might be a point to it. The movie was basically a fvck you to the audience.

The level of character assassination in the movie could not have been a mistake.

I was shocked to find out there are people who actually think this movie is good on its subreddit.
Because I just don't see how anyone watches this... especially the last 20-30 minutes and thinks the movie is anything but awful

Joker in part 1 was actually never funny. He's depressed and blame the government for all his woes. Hence, took out his anger on the TV host and started revolution because everyone feels the same. Blaming government for all their woes

Real joker is smart and psychopath. Just like Yagami Light in Death Note
That doesn't mean anything.

The point of the first movie was to give a fresh take on the Joker origin story. Basically it could as well be another universe.

And it was meant to be a standalone movie. From what I heard, the director was forced to make a second movie, so he used the opportunity to send a fvck you to "incels" and also the fans of the first movie who sympathized with Joker.

He used the second movie to completely undo the first movie.

Joker 2 is so bad that many people believe it was made to be intentionally bad.

That kind of character assassination does not come about by mistake. It was done on purpose, that's the going theory

Perhaps you didn't follow part 1 properly.
He was never the real joker
Prove it

This is the first time I'm hearing something like this about part 1

Edit:
Are you talking about the age difference?

Because that's the only thing I can think of.

But even that doesn't mean anything in this movie
TV/MoviesRe: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by Baddestguyp(m):
Joker 2.....3/10

This movie is basically a character study of Joker.
The first half or even 70% of this movie was actually decent imo. Yes the musical aspect was overdone but I could forgive it because at least it was used to show the mental state of Joker and Harley Quinn...

I can also forgive the fact that the movie deconstructs Joker in the sense that it starts with him not fully accepting himself and his personality as Joker even though the last movie ended with that. Basically rewriting his character from the end of the last movie.

What I cannot forgive is the character assassination at the ending. It was like the last 20-30 minutes of the movie was a massive fûck-you to fans.

What they did to his character was unforgivable. Character assassination at it's finest.!!!

The writer's conclusion was that Arthur Fleck was not really the Joker. He was basically roleplaying and trying to live up to expectations of his fans and Harley Quinn. And as a result, he ends up rejecting the false Joker persona. So "The Joker doesn't exist". "It was merely a fantasy".

Holy hell!!!

I think the writer must have forgotten the character he was writing about. The ending completely contradicts the actual character and is basically an insult to the fans of the actual character. It can't get worse than this...

Basically, a movie that was meant to be a character study of Joker first of all did not add anything new to his character and second of all, pulled off a massive character assassination.

The movie didn't even add much to Harley Quinn's character.

The ending is one of the worst endings of all time. I won't spoil the last scene of this movie yet. But that scene basically undid the entire first movie and made both movies pointless.

Edit: fvck it, I'll spoil the last scene.
Basically, the Joker (Arthur Fleck) from the two movies is not actually the real Joker, but was killed by the real Joker who was inspired by Arthur Fleck and decided to kill him and adopt the Joker persona.

In other words, the entire two movies were about a sad loser who was never even the Joker at all.

Now I regret watching this movie.

There's a minor plot hole in The Penguin that no one is talking about.

THE ABSENCE OF BATMAN in this show doesn't make sense.

I understand that the showrunners have their reasons. Batman is too big to be in this show.
Even an ordinary cameo could result in drawing attention away from Oz and Sofia.
Hence his absence.

Valid reason, make sense if you see it that way.

BUT hear me out.

A lot has happened in Gotham already.

Alberto Falcone was murdered.
The Falcone family were gassed to death.
And now Oz is flooding the streets of Gotham with a new drug. Bliss.

And Batman doesn't show up. Even worse, this guys are going about their business like he doesn't exist.

Matt Reeves better have an explanation for that in The Batman part 2.

There has to be something personal or more dangerous that's keeping the dark knight distracted.

That's the only way to make up for this plot hole.
They'll probably give Batman some short fanservice cameo at the end.

They may/may not even show his face.

But this is not a plothole. The real plothole is someone in prison is almost killed by a prison guard but kills the guard instead and takes his keys.

Next time we see him, he has somehow escaped from the prison off-screen simply by taking the guard's keys...

It felt like Sunday school writing. If it were that easy he'd have gotten his hands on some keys before and escaped instead of remaining trapped for years

And Sofia was somehow able to find him easily just because the plot needed it to happen. She just magically found him, we have no idea how.

Just finished watching the legend of vox machina season 1 to 3 mehn d series is just too good my rating 10/10

D series d dialogue was too good ,d plot d storyline was perfect.

What I love most is how dey assimilate d story of each member of d group to d plot

No animation come close dis year am just wondering why d series was not popular here, on twitter people are talking about it.

Amazon struck gold with dis,the legend of vox machina >>>>>invisible .

I check imdb for top rated animated seeing the legend of vox machina at number one am not even surprised

The season finale was good but I kinda have problem with vax risking his life for her sister bf cus he want her to be happy I swear vax is fvking dumb oooh.

pesin don die then u are planning to risk Yr life 4 him to bring him back cus she is Yr sister bf, it doesn't even make sense. Cus am thinking dat can vex make d same sacrifice 4 him If keyleth die? Absolutely No till d extent u put Yr life in jeopardy LOL
How is Vox Machina top rated animated series.

Did you mistaken trending for being top rated?

Even if it were, it's a good series but it's nowhere near the best. I wouldn't put it anywhere near Samurai Jack or Avatar the Last Airbender

It's better than Korra tho, but almost every decent animated series is better than Korra

Scavengers Reign 9/10

Every now and then, we get a piece of art that you look at and marvel in wonder at how the creators were able to come up with such a concept and execute it. Scavengers Reign is one of such pieces of art.

Joseph Bennett and Charles Huettner have my respect with what they've created here. A beautiful, terrifying and mesmerizing world.
I know a student or students of nature when I see one and these guys have definitely been studying for a while.

The world of Scavengers Reign is pretty much like what the Earth looked like before man tamed it. Some parts of it almost feel like you're watching an animated episode of Nat Geo Wild with how much care was taken in designing the terrain, as well as, the local flora and fauna.

But enough talk about the world building, the story is also gripping. It follows a group of survivors of a spaceship malfunction as they scavenge for a way to return to the ship and make it back home. These survivors are not all in one location and their individual journeys, innovative survival skill set and resilience are what make each of the characters interesting in their own right.

Two major themes of this show are survival and evolution. And we get to watch these themes take shape and play out with these characters.

The fact that a show like this didn't automatically grab the Emmy for animated show takes my anticipation of what Blue Eye Samurai has to offer to higher levels cos I'm really interested to see how it matches up to or tops what Scavengers Reign cooked.
I downloaded this a long time ago.

No matter how I tried, I couldn't get into it.

The animation style was a major turn off. I quit the show around Episode 3 or 4.

I think it's good for those who are interested in shows about exploration of a planet...

Not for people like me at all...

It's more of a very niche show that's why it wasn't popular

The killers game is a solid 7/10 for me.

One of the things i appreciate about this movie is the plot.
This is a very unique plot that we don't get to see more often in series or movies.
The plot and then the plot twist makes the movie very unique and the fact that the movie isn't just straight a killer movie, they added romance into it which even made the whole set up a beautiful set up.

Nice action scene, little bit of laugh here and there, in general this was an interesting watch and i totally loved it.

I wish a network can actually take the exact plot and plot twist of this movie and then make a big budgeted series centered on the exact plot of this movie, it would really make sense.
We don't get to see movies or series with a unique plot and plot twist like this.
Are you joking?

What twist exactly?
What plot exactly?

It's perfectly okay to enjoy the movie purely for it's entertainment value, but if you think this movie has some good storytelling or good twist, I will be heavily disappointed in you

Even the romance is wack and barely believable

Time travel is already in existence and it's 100% possible but the concept of it is not the one we see in science fictions.

We can travel to the past to learn and we can travel to the future to know and if possible to change an outcome.

Anyone of spiritual knowledge knows this, for example a man is going through challenges.
He prophet or one with a high rank in the spirit can look into the man and travel back in time to see where it all went wrong, how his great grand father did somethings that has now turned into a generational curse.

We are in 2024 but there are those that are high in spirit rankings that have traveled into 2060 to see how the world will look like then.
There are those that at will can travel back to 1980 to learn what happened at a particular time so they can use that information to fix the present.
So yes, time travel is 100% possible and people are already masters of it.
I believe Nostrademus was a time traveller.
The writers of the Simpsons are time travelers.
So much is wrong with this post. It's based on so many assumptions and theories...

The concept of time travel doesn't even make any sense if you think about it.

How can you travel to 1 minute ago?

You're watching too many movies

So I finally watched The Penguin after all the praises I saw online...

And yeah, it's good. Far better than I expected.
It doesn't even feel like a show related to a superhero verse.

The character writing is the most impressive part of the show so far to me. I didn't expect character writing of this level from a superhero related show. Sofia for instance is such a really well-written character...

Honestly, the only reason why I was hesitant to watch it is due to the terrible writing of superhero related series like MoonKnight...

Terrible superhero verse related shows like MoonKnight completely killed any sort of vibe to watch superhero related shows...

But I'm glad I gave this show a chance

And where did IGN's 5/10 for this show come from?
The remaining episodes would have to be extremely poor to match that 5/10 scoreline

Word on the street is that the new Joker is pissing off it's core fanbase on purpose by being an on the nose deconstruction of everything wrong with being an edge lord. The anime ending of Attack on Titan did the same thing. So now my wheels are spinning.

Are there any other movies, shows, etc where a beloved edgelord character is EFFECTIVELY deconstructed. And by effective I mean leaving little room for misinterpretation. The first joker and 95% of attack on titan failed at this task by making the main characters look super cool while being shitty which of course meant that so many failed to see the problem in their behavior (see my first edgelord video from the main channel's early days). So are there more recent examples of creators leaving no room for confusion?
I haven't watched Joker 2, so I can't comment much on that...but from what I've heard, Joker 2 seems to have far more issues than that...

But this reminds me of what happened in the ending of Attack on Titan where these incels and edgelords got pissed due to Eren showing weakness and confessing his emotions while close to death...

They got so pissed that they made their own fan ending called Akatasuki no Requiem (ANR) where they turned Eren into an angry edgelord so obsessed with freedom for his people that he was willing to kill all his friends to complete the Rumbling to complete the Rumbling and return to Paradis to marry Queen Historia and become king...

Of course it had to be a meek and very feminine Historia who had hots for Eren and even carried his child...

Nevermind the fact that in the Canon story, Historia had a husband and Eren was not the father of her child and Eren even had no romance with Historia.

They hated Mikasa so much for killing Eren in Canon and called her a dog and a slave despite the fact that in Canon it had long been confirmed that Eren was lying when he said Mikasa was a slave to her Ackerman blood...

They claimed they wanted to fix the AOT ending and said the author does not understand his own characters all because of their edgelord self-insert of Eren.

See images of their ANR manga below where they allegedly "fixed" the AOT ending:

In the first image, adult Eren even has a boner while talking about Freedom to his child self grin

Underwhelming keh? It was a great season and it garnered more viewers than the last one. It was not as outstanding as the first but it was great nonetheless. The only problem was the release schedule
Invincible season 2 was anything but a great season.

Coming from season 1, it was very underwhelming. The release schedule and PowerPoint animation didn't help.

The season finale antagonist was someone who barely anyone could even remember. He appeared in like Episode 1 and disappeared.

Considering the mid season break, most people even forgot who he was when he appeared again at the finale. There was literally nothing compelling about him. The only thing I can recall him for is his big head.

Ask most random people what happened in Invincible S2 and they won't recall.

Personally all I can recall are the fish episode, Mark meeting his father and his new family and the final villain who I can only recall for his big head

Hype or not, people are still going to show up to watch it.

And whether the show gets back its season 1 hype and has people talking again will depend on how dark the plot goes. For example, there was nothing in season 2 that was on the same scale as Omni Man taking out the Guardians or nuking Chicago. Season 1 had people hooked from the very first episode.

Anyways the February release is just rumours. I dont see them dropping season 3 so soon after season 2. Would be nice if it was true tho
Season 3 can actually regain it's hype like you said.

However, they really need to do something about the animation too.
It will be in 2025, we shouldn't be getting PowerPoint animation again...

Considering the rumours about the show having a huge budget but almost everything going to it's celebrity voice actors...I doubt anything would change in S3 in that regard....
