I am expecting Snyder to give us good dialogue between characters...
To properly develop motivations for characters...

To show what each character offers.
They went through much trouble to recruit General Titus yet we haven't seen him use any particular skillset ..

Kora and the others risked becoming a slave to recruit Prince Tarak...yet we didn't see anything he has done...he literally did nothing...

For a character that they risked so much to recruit despite just meeting him, it's certainly weird that we see him do almost nothing to contribute to their cause...

You don't need 3 movies to do proper work on a character that was recruited to battle the Empire.

A former general should have at least shown his unique skill set in battle.

What about the character interactions...
We barely got any dialogue between the cast after they were recruited...

How can we relate with characters who can't even interact with each other?

Every dialogue in the mood was bad bro.
The fact that this is a movie that's poised to be the next Star Wars is laughable tbh. I love Snyder and I prayed this movie would be really good but it fell short.
First off and my main concern was the movie had no spirit at all. No humour, I didn't feel anything for the characters - the folks that joined her - the reason for joining her in the adventure was so bland to me- the rebellion and the reasons why one would die for a cause wasn't really fleshed out at all. Good Sci Fi movies should have humor esp through dialogue and physical humour but I saw none of that.
Also the story was so dry. Like every other SciFi movie, it doesn't have a new story to tell. The plot twist was already known in 30 minutes after the film started- no suspense at all
I just rewatched it the 3rd time and I'm giving it a 4/10

You are spot on about the characters that joined barely having any interaction as a group.

While I don't care much for comedy or humour, at least the characters who joined should interact with each other...

I feel like some people here don't understand what good character writing is...
They just rate movies simply based on enjoyment and things like character writing doesn't interest them...

I know where he was found...and I know what they said about the last bounty Hunter that came to find him...

My statement was that he looked homeless, not that he was homeless...
They even had to bath him...

And when they asked him to join them, he had lost all motivation to fight the Empire...he was a disgraced General and had lost everything...

But in 30 seconds he was suddenly convinced and got his motivation back simply by mentioning revenge...
This is what I call lazy dialogue and lazy character writing...

It's like Snyder just used the skip button and decided it wasn't worth the stress to actually write some convincing dialogue...

And tell me what General Titus actually did in the movie. Despite being a General in the past who they went through much to find, what did he do?

Did he use his experience he had gained as a general in battle?
Did he use or even propose any tactics or strategy in the movie?

What is the difference between General Titus and a footsoldier? He didn't lead? He didn't offer any strategy or tactics, absolutely no use or proposal that made use of his skillset

As for the requitements, each character all has hatred for the empire.. mostly Revenge. That's why they got conned easily by the guy who betrayed them.

All dialogues are very very good..

When I talk about character work, I'm not talking soley about their motivations...I'm asking for them to be like actual characters and not just look cool.

Let's take Nemesis for example (she's the one who uses swords)...she being previously a mother seem to have sympathy for other mothers who have lost their children...
And she was against revenge...but rather joined to save lives...

Then General Titus the very next person they met was someone who had abandoned war and lost all motivation because of what he had lost. However guess how they convinced him? By selling their cause as revenge against the Empire...you can see the problem here when done in the presence of Nemesis...as she wouldn't have joined them if it was about revenge...

Not only that, but the entire conversation with him literally took like 30 seconds...

30 seconds to convince a man who had completely given up and was literally living on the street like a beggar/homeless man...
If this is not lazy character work, then tell me what is?

Let's look at Tarak, the dude who was a slave. His master said he'd let him join if Tarak was able to take the beast. But if he couldn't take the beast, they'd all become his slave.

Are you telling me that Kora was immediately willing to risk her freedom and become a slave just to recruit a man she just met...
A man she didn't know anything about...
All she asked was whether he could tame the beast and she risked everything on that gamble for just 1 man she had just met?
She risked everything, even the community she was trying to save...all for one man who ended up not even doing much

How did she even meet him? Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't he recommended by Kai another man she just met? And she immediately trusted that Tarak would tame it? Come on man...

And what's worse is that Tarak didn't really do much despite all that risk. Same as General Titus.

Finally, let's look at the robot introduced at the beginning...the robot was a former soldier and it was stated that it was programmed to give up on fighting once it's master died. And it wouldn't fight no matter what.
I found the robot pretty interesting at first, expecting an arc on the robot understanding humans through it's communications with humans...
But guess what? It was completely abandoned and forgotten until they decided to give us a "cool shot" of the robot at the end.

Synder's writing style imo seems to abandon character building and logic and instead focus on making "cool looking characters" and giving the audience "cinematic scenes"


Like I said in my review on my other account (Erenjp), the movie wasn't all that terrible...
Rather it needed more time...

If they reduced the slow mo and actually added an extra 30 minutes run time to build the characters then it would have been way better.

The movie is nowhere near a 10/10 and nowhere near a 2/10...
It has room for development but a lot of work is needed...

The first 5 episodes of JJK season 2 is a flashback (Hidden Inventory arc).
Gojo was younger and he was best friends with Geto. The same Geto that was the main villain in JJK 0 movie. Same Geto that Gojo killed in the movie.

And the same Geto that is somehow alive in Season 1 (the explanation is a spoiler)


Chronologically:
1. Jjk S2 episodes 1-5
2. Jjk 0 movie
3. Jjk S1
4. Jjk S2 episodes 6-23


Basically in that episode you're watching, Gojo is still very young and hasn't even mastered his Red technique or Purple. He didn't even have Domain Expansion back then.
His infinity was manual then too.

I have never seen a movie that was bang on, set up to fail both "commercially" and "critically". Amazing to note, the first one made such a huge B.O success. I remember seeing it at the Cinema in 2019 and the hall was packed full.
There is actually a plathora of reasons why the failure of this was written in stone ages ago, and if a was a proper betting man, i would have put my entire funds on it failing terribly and that 36% RT score currently is merciful, as i honestly thought it will be lower.

An (un) fitting end to DCEU, the franchise was as disjointed as they come and never really got going...James Gunn has a very big task on his hands man...
