Foreign bank generate revenues from investment.. Nigerian bank generate revenue from fleecing their customers. They charge you for sms, charge you VAT, charge account maintenance.. charge you what the heck fee.. Charge you IDGAF fee.. charge you what can you do fee.. Now they want to charge cyberspace fee? Let them add Mars fee, walking into the bank fee, looking at the bank sign fee.. Nonsense |
michlins:I wonder if they even invited him |
Paraman:How about Nigeria investing less money to improve the electricity supply so we can enjoy 24hr power supply like the other countries of the world?? |
bayplus:If you need to pay your child's school fees abroad, if you need to pay your supplier in China, if you need to pay medical bills abroad.. Just walk into your bank and your bank will withdraw money from your NAIRA account and convert to the foreign currency at the official rate and effect the transaction abroad. No business, whether private or government should transact business in Nigeria in any other currency other than the Naira. This is by far the quickest.. no need for FG to deplet foreign reserve to pump in dollars to BDC. Crude oil etc, should be sold in NAIRA. |
I have been saying this for years.. But that's how the banks make most of their money, " round tripping" Also those BDC operators have people in "high" places and corrupt politicians use them to "wash" their loot. I mentioned before in my previous posts thay CBN injecting dollars in the market is not the solution, it gives naira a temporary reprieve but exacerbate the situation further in the long run and some people started calling me names..etc. I want Naira to strong, the Nigerian economy to be stronger but we must be willing to hold the bull by the horn and make some tough choices and decisions devoid of tribes and our political association. It's one of those things in Nigeria, we know the problem and the solution is relatively easy but nahhh we turn blind eyes and start a tribal war or political party war instead of turning all our energy to the issues at hand. |

Na wah oo.. Make dem pity Klopp nah |
donforeign:Wehdone sir/Madam. For me, I wouldn't personally invest in either of the business. Why? Filing station, many times we look that from the perspective of "oil money" .. but that doesn't really translate to profitability.. I was around a bar one time staying close to my bottle and overheard people's conversation, one has filling station.. he was regretting venturing in the business and that's was surprising to me.. Then I started talking to people, hmm.. the politics involved in the filing station business no be here.. They say some people make money by buying fuel from "local refineries " instead of sourcing from the official channel. Some filling station make money also by adjusting the meter.. so when one buys 5 litter, they are actually pumping less than that.. Etc.etc With filling station, they are typically a bit hard to resell or repurpose for a different use. Not forgetting, the cost of construction is quite enormous. Lastly, I just don't think it's a good business (personally speaking) Hotel: profitable, maybe but I just don't like the business.. I haven't seriously looked at the analysis of it from the business angle but I think it's very saturated now ( your area might be different). The management etc , I feel it's not just for me. But between the 2, I would grudginly vote for hotel because it's less stress compared to filling station. They are usually easier to sell than filling station. You could repurpose your hotel and rent it out as tenant house if you want. Recall, in every business, there outta be an exit strategy. Good luck |
GloriousGbola:How many people does the brewery employee? How much taxes do they pay to the government per year? Isn't the brewery still functioning?? That tells you right there that the $30m was not a waste.. Perhaps not the best investment, but still better than if Peter obi stole it or initiated a white elephant project that is currently abadoned. |

Whether he built a brewery or a refinery.. the important thing there is what is the return on investment?? What if he embezzled the $30m. Some state government past and present have invested more than $30m in a white elephant projects that are not even completed up till date and if completed.. does not add any value to the state revenue.. |
ogbe88:My opinion |
Aside from the Onana - Dalot miscommunication, Manutd have been very organized (more than their last few games). Bruno is not all of the field like before, they are using more of the wings. A bit of improvement from last time out. |
panpan:The new U.S consulate in Eko Atlantic is one of the most expensive consulate the U.S have worldwide.. how do you think they were able to commit that kind of money there? |
