Finally this page woke up from the grave.

Newsflash: man dey find Werkstudent oh evej despite being in STEM.

Peeps in big cities enjoy a lot of benefits except house rents grin.

Side note: the best time to learn Deutsch is while in Nigeria. If you're thinking of coming here before you do, you might end up learning nothing.

I can't count the number of times I have started learning Deutsch and stopped because I am doing self learning, I have to study and make ends meet as well.

Hopefully, the paid online course I am doing now works for me and during this semester break, I can enroll in a language class.
Welcome back braket.
Good to have you guys back here.

All I can say is that they are very strict now about the means of funding VO took his time to probe me on using one particular method. Just thread safe on this.

Good afternoon Ẹ family

My interview is in few days, I was supposed to use SL but there is a delay in that and now I'm stucked. I don't know if the SL will be available before the interview and I don't have a block account.
My question is should I go without means of funding to the interview or open a block account prior to that day.
Any suggestions will be welcomed.

Thanks to all.
Follow Sassy92 advice.

I did my enrollment in proxy and funded before visa interview. It’s been 4 weeks into lectures now and I’m not yet in Germany because of delay in visa. The last info I got from the embassy is that my visa application is still under review. Since lectures have already started, would this negatively affect the outcome of visa?
Just hope positively bro, the journey grace & mercy sev dey, but mail the embassy at a specific interval to know the update.
It will end well

I know about the rules and I believe people on this section are either in Germany or once studied in Germany. I would like to know if they’ve met someone who was offered visa even after missing some classes. I believe that majority of those on student visa section are applicant who may not have such info. Thanks.
Direct ur question to the student thread

People residing in Abuja I just got information that someone was posted to the Abuja consulate for interview. All he did was to put his location as Abuja when booking.
Edit: He later said he booked under category A and and said yes he has scholarship even without scholarship, hoping to explain to the Vo on the day of his interview
This is not a good idea.

Great job guys! ..... I have been a silent reader for quite a long time, I just feel I should appreciate the good work you guys are doing, particularly, hadampson, elder, phlift e.t.c. that said, I think people are laying too much emphasis on STEM,I know its in demand, but if its not your thing or you are not that good in it then just go for your preferred choice, as I can confidently tell you whatever you study in germany you will have something decent doing at the end of the day, there are lots of decent courses with huge potentials to land you pretty good jobs in DE.....

Tips to succeeding in DE

-have a good knowledge of Deutsche
-posses decent employable skills

And the sky could just be your starting point.

Peace.
Which city are you in DE bro?

Pls I have question concerning daad.de. Are there other gernan universities giving international students admission that are not listed in daad.de, like is it possible to search for German schools outside that website? I'm observing some Electrical engineering courses on this thread that I haven't seen there before

Secondly, anybody that want to send doc to Kassel through uniassist should pm me. This cost of posting is not easy o.
Yes, there are schools not on daad.de .

High demanding IT skills depend on which area, web dev, software dev, mobile, dev, DevOps(hottest kid on the block), AI(this is very broad), data science...........and so on.

But with Web Dev, you can't go wrong. (learn HTML, CSS, Javascript, Angular, React, ) for frontend. (Java, Php, Nodejs) for backend.

You can start with HTML CSS, then move to Javascript, and then React before Angular for frontend development.
For backend, I would say learn JAVAEE with ( Spring/Hibernate) and Nodejs. But if you are already proficient in Javascript, then perfect your backend skills with Nodejs and learn other frameworks to it.
All in all, programming is not all about what language you are proficient in, it is about how to analyse and solve problems. Your architecture and logic implementations are what makes you a good developer. This is where a good knowledge of data structures and algorithm come into play.

See just stay focus and forget all this IT hype, learn German and follow your passion. If you jump ship because people are saying so,hmm. The grass is not always green on the other side.
Phillift, willy, pompido, God bless you all for sharing this vital information here.
