nghubs1: Humanitarian workers have pulled out of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital. The decision followed the outbreak of violence in the camp during a protest by the IDPs over the quantity of food brought in for distribution. The Gubio Road IDP camp is home to displaced persons from 11 local governments of the state, and one of the 13 government recognised IDP camps in Maiduguri. The needs of the affected population are enormous and almost insatiable, even with the team of government aid agencies and humanitarian partners.
On Saturday last week, displaced persons were angry with the quantity of food brought in for distribution and reacted violently, smashing cars and injuring some humanitarian workers until security forces contained the mayhem. Following the incident, all humanitarian activities in the camp were suspended until the safety of the humanitarian workers was guaranteed.

Family › Re: How False Prophet Nearly Destroyed My Wedding Day by Badonasty(m): 4:25pm On Aug 30, 2017 |
anthonydunamis: A few weeks before my wife and I got married, something happened. After church one Sunday, a man approached her on her way back home and told her that God gave him a message for her. He said, ‘God told me to tell you that the man you are about to get married to is not the right person for you.’
Wow.
Although she knew what God had said about our marriage in times past, a shadow of doubt was cast on her mind. This was a complete stranger, yet how did he know that she was about to get married? When she got home, she went into prayer. ‘Lord, show me the truth,’ she pleaded.
Suddenly, her eyes were opened and she saw the boot of a car, and in this boot were piles of wedding souvenirs. On one of the jotters, she saw her picture and mine, with the inscription GOZIE WEDS OSAS. Then she heard a clear voice saying: ‘THIS IS A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN’.
The devil is a bastard.
I once shared on Facebook that the best thing one can do for himself or herself is to learn how to hear from God before choosing a spouse. While a spiritual mentor, pastor, prophet can also provide insights and enquire from God on your behalf, it’s best to get the truth from God BY YOURSELF. That way, when trouble comes and doubts are about to settle, you will remember what God told YOU.
God bless!

Reports even have it that the Olori has moved out of the palace and relocated to Lagos to continue with her life.

President Muhammadu Buhari will receive the victorious D’Tigress during Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting in Abuja, Solomon Dalung, the Minister of Youth and Sports, announced on Tuesday.
Dalung who disclosed this during a reception for the new African women basketball champions at the Abuja National Stadium said Wednesday’s ceremony would be in a further appreciation of the team.
The senior national women basketball team had on Sunday won the 2017 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket Championship at Bamako in Mali after beating defending champions Senegal in the final match.
“Becoming Women’s AfroBasket champions after 12 years is an achievement worthy of celebration.
“Winning the African Championship for the third time establishes you (Nigeria) as a force to reckon with in African basketball.
“I am convinced that this will boost your confidence to perform well at the World Championship in Spain in 2018,’’ Dalung said.
The Minister said the victory helped to underline his belief that “when we do things the right way, we will always get the right results’’
Dalung recalled that he and the ministry came under a lot of criticism when they embarked on some reforms.
“However, getting the governance structure of National Sports Federations right was key to success in sports,’’ he said.
Earlier. the President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), Habu Gumel, had praised the team for its performance, pledging his support for the team.
“I look forward to seeing the team perform better at the World Cup in Spain in 2018.
“But I will advise you all to continue training to maintain this quality standard of play at the World Cup,’’ he said.
President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), Musa Kida, while presenting the team to Dalung, had said passion, hard work and commitment helped the team to win the competition.
He however assured that the NBBF board would make grassroots development its priority.
Also speaking at the occasion, D’Tigress captain, Aisha Muhammed, thanked the minister and the board for the support given to the team.
She said this and the prayers of other Nigerians helped the team a lot.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the team had beaten all its five opponents in the competition’s group stage to qualify for the quarter-finals.
It then went on to beat Cote D’Ivoire, hosts Mali and Senegal in the finals stage to emerge unbeaten in eight matches.

Education › Re: JAMB Defends Low Minimum Cut-off Marks by Badonasty(m): 11:07am On Aug 28, 2017 |
dammy13: The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has defended the pegging of 120 as minimum cut-off marks for university admission.
The decision, which was reached at a stakeholders’ policy meeting in Abuja, has generated controversy with many universities rejecting the marks.
JAMB’s Head of Information Dr. Fabian Benjamin, in a statement yesterday in Abuja, said the board would not be deterred and would continue to support policies that would bring Nigeria’s education out of the woods.
He explained that previous cut off marks were never strictly followed by most institutions.
Dr. Benjamin said most universities failed to fill their admission quota in the last 10 years.
The statement reads: “The much trending controversy over the just released cut off marks for 2017 admission exercise by stakeholders at the policy meeting is quite unnecessary.
“All Heads of tertiary institutions were requested to submit their cut off benchmark to the board which will then be used for the admission. And these benchmarks once determined cannot be changed in the middle of admission exercise.
“Again, it is necessary to explain that the 120 mark does not in any way suggest that once you have 120 then admission is sure for you. Institutions will admit from the top to the least mark.
“We are now starting the actually monitoring of adherence to admissions guide lines, cut off marks inclusive. The cut off marks being branded by the public as previous cut off marks were never strictly followed by most institutions.
“The board will equally ensure that it correct all anomalies existing, especially as regards the powers of institutions to make pronouncements on admissions and other related matters affecting the institutions.”
According to him, institutions in the past went behind to admit candidates with less cut-off marks, while also accusing some institutions of admitting candidates without JAMB results.
“Institutions were going behind to admit candidates with far less with others admitting candidates who never sat for JAMB. This act to say the least is very distasteful and damaging to our national data and identity.
“Unfortunately, the public has been kept away from this fact for such a long time and now that we are saying it the way it is and working to address it, the public is criticising us using non existing parameters that were only announced and not followed.
“In years past, admissions were done with worst cut off marks. We are determined and ready to correct all these with the 2017 exercise. The Board has designed a Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) to check back door admission and other unwholesome practices associated with admission.
“We are sure that the system will bring out the good in us as it will also make provision for candidates to track their admission. This empowers them to raise queries if a candidate they have better scores and other prerequisites are admitted which CAPS will not allow anyway. This is the inclusiveness and transparency that education needs,” he added.

BlueBrothers: In Nigeria, the Odu’a Group of Companies in partnership with Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti (ABUAD) has revealed plans to spend N12 billion ($32.5 million) to revive its textile mill in Ado Ekiti, converting it into an industrial park.
Adewale Raji (photo), the GMD of Odua conglomerate, said on the occasion of the announcement: “In this partnership, ABUAD is 60 per cent shareholder while Odu’a is 40 per cent. We are very optimistic about the sustainability of the centre. It is our hope that within a short period, we will develop a reputation for excellence through the giant strides and accomplishment of its graduates and the industrial products of the proposed industrial park.”
The industrial park will comprise 31 small-scale industries which will get their materials from ABUAD. The two parties also intend to establish a vocational and skill centre as well as an academic centre where diploma in three engineering courses and Advanced level certificates would be awarded. The centre would offer training in 12 courses.
Speaking at the formal presentation of the project design on Tuesday, Afe Babalola (SAN), ABUAD’s founder, expressed regret at the level of retrogression in economic and technological development of the country “We shouldn’t allow such textile mills that were the hub of Ekiti’s economy to die. But with this plan, the factory will bounce to life by becoming an employment generation, vocational and academic centre, where people can benefit,” he said.

Angelanest: A young man identified as Nze Duru Kizito couldn't contain his excitement after he and his squad hunted, killed and 'devoured' a bush rabbit which came their way in Owerri, Imo state capital. The team roasted, butchered and steamed the bush meat which they ate while chilling with bottles of beer.
Read below what the young man shared on Facebook on Sunday, August 20.
WHEN GOD OF BUSH MEAT REMEMBERED ME.
Yesterday evening, having had a fulfilling moments with my elder brothers Chidiebube Okeoma IfeanyiCy Njoku, Kelechi Uzomah and Ugo Stevenson at Rockview hotel, I went home, stopped over at the mini market near my house where I bought Tomatoes and other things to make Sunday but I ran short of money to buy either meat or fish, so I went home with the things I bought with the intention of coming back to get the meat for I had money left at home.
Immediately I came back, around 7:15 pm, my phone rang and I got myself engaged with the call while enjoying the airy production of a mango tree in my compound, then my friend Obiaku Lancelot whom I came back with drew my intention to a crawling bush rabbit, at once the village boy in me came to the fore and we 'professionally' went after it and killed the Ewi.
We roasted, butchered and steamed it as we used to do years back in the village. As I type this now, I am enjoying a sumptuous pepper soup made from the intestines of the succulent rabbit with my favourite Life lagger beer and singing praises to the wonderful God of Bush meat.
Today, I shall receive no visitors
