Christianity EtcEarliest Method Of Birth Control Spotted In The Bible (Cum on ground) by badthinds(op): 11:40am On Aug 13, 2017
First of all. Happy sunday, good people of Nigeria.

Well, I would have entitled this thread: "Part of the bible where someone spewed cum on the ground" grin ...but that's not my concern. grin

There was a time when
In Genesis 38:9
" But Onan knew that the children would not belong to him, so when he had intercourse with his
brother’s widow, he let the semen spill on the
ground, so that there would be no children for his
brother."

Any version you have with you will do.

Here are his reasons

Facts:
- His brothers, who had been husbands to that Same woman had died mysteriously
- Now it was his turn as in the tradition (from God) to marry his brother's widow.

When Onan's father noticed this mystery, he felt reluctant giving her to Onan - the one left.
So he told her to be patient...that he hasn't grown enough.
She was patient...though desperate. When she felt it was trick...you could read more to see what she did...how she got her father in-law to have sex with her!, so she could get back in track.

Now
If you were Onan. Wouldn't you do the same? (spilling it)...but unfortunately, the bible recorded it that God killed Onan for this. sad

Back to the matter. This is the earliest birth control approach recorded in the bible.
ProgrammingRe: Advantages Of The Linux OS Over The Windows OS by badthinds: 10:14am On Aug 13, 2017
That was those days. These days, apart from the cross-platform of 'everything' you can even mimic any operating system on another.

But, why programmers (some) prefer linux to windows.
1. Individual differences
2. The fact that linux was originally closer to the Mr. Developer unlike the windows 0S.
3. Shell-scripting (windows too...kind of)
4. Some other minors

Summary:
The fact is that linux is closer to the Mr. Dev. (having used the two - some may not be able to explain, but they know it).
Then you may agree with me that linux is more secure.

If i'm to choose for someone (a programmer) I'll choose linux...he/she may thank me later.
Linux is better jorr. (my opinion). I'm a fan of linux.

Being a programmer is not easy as we say...but somehow, only us know the truth. Its not a burden on us. grin

Behind every programmer...there is a story.
Some had been geeks right from time. Some were freaks. Some took computer Stuffs moderately.

...but a programmer who wasn't a programmer from the womb should know exactly how he/she stumbled upon the stone of the programming world.

#iClearMyThroat

Now, let me open the show.

Long time ago, I watched my brothers use the internet. I didn't have a mobile phone that could access the internet nor a computer.

When I watched them surf, I knew I wasn't interested in what they did...I was just interested in the beauty of the site, how text, images and colors appeared on the screen.

Fastforward.

A day came when I saw a saved page (.html). I clicked it and it opened up in the browser. I went back and renamed it to .txt, and my excitement made hair stand attention on my body despite the confusion.

I began to study the code like a curious cat...i was able to recognised some text that were visible in the browser...after some time, I began to modify the texts within <tag> [here] </tag>.

The results excited me the most!

I further noticed how tags ended with tag+a forward slash. Etc...

That was how the journey begun...I was the only one in my family who was interested in what I did.

Phew!.

Like I've said before, it bans people with no rhyme or reason and lets legitimate and continuous spam flourish across multiple threads. Simply put: NL's "anti-spambot" (the "buggybot" as I so lovingly call it) is a useless piece of crap that is way past its expiration date.

Also, the fact that the mods are completely unhelpful and pretty much worthless should you get illegitimately banned subsequently makes it all the more infuriating.
Lol. I just hope they write a better one or aleast, make it manned

Forgive me if there are any typos...I typed in a hurry, and my autocorrect want to kill me. It can't sha

Well, what is an anti-spam bot?

An anti-spam bot may be defined in many ways, but basically, it is a program file that automatically detects spammy contents and removes it from public view / just report.

An antispam system may have other features eg banning people. grin

Case Study
Nairaland

Experience
There was once a time a guy on nairaland introduced his website, it was a site that offered similar services to twitter.

In my critical reply, I was comparing and contrasting, also stating some facts. I typed urls of twitter and facebook multiple places in the text. After sighing and happily posting the patiently typed writeup, it was removed...and guess what? Pepper was added to my wound, ...I was banned from posting! grin

Well, I noticed I could mail the super mods the next day, so I did.
I commend the quick action of the mode that received the hearty complaint. My ban was resolved. (Oh! How I felt good to be able to post once more...hehehehe grin)

Serious...now

I studied the post I made, I knew posting twitter and facebook urls ...better still - without forward slashes shudun be kwansidared spam...
Then I deduced the antispam system wasn't manned by the intelligent nairaland mods...
I also deduced the bot lacked AI and subsequent bans I received made me conclude the bot couldn't learn! (at this point, I say to myself, "easy, badthinds".) grin

Why the critical review?

This is a banning era on Nairaland...like the gods are gone and we are left to go OYO. Complaints everywhere...many have suffered eg, one of my new friends on nairaland Muhammedbashir, how far guy? grin.

Now,

An intelligent antispam bot should be able to (if related to links)
- Evaluate the link
- Check a whitelist of websites
- scan the content of where it lands and make sure it wasn't redirected or something
- conclude if its a spam or not
- finally, learns something, if necessary.

I would have continued but I can save myself more typing by just stating the conclusion.

The antispam system on nairaland is like a not-so-brilliant robot taking over humankind. Sadly enough, we the intelligent humans cant do anything about it.

Over to my Honorable ogas.

Seun, move this to fp...ummm...I mean...programming fp ( grin ). So dat my guys on nairaland can come and shuk mouth for de mata.

Phew!

I finished the job in a week+ as demanded, till today, may rails-friends can't believe twas rapid learning and googling.

All you need is experience. When you know what to expect from every good programming language...that is all...almost. grin

Lol. You see, something with programming languages is that there is no word like pro (I once saw a funny picture of a programmer trying to know everything about a language)

After learning a language, I can tell you I'm a pro. If you challenge me to build a software, I already know how to go about it...above all google is there.

...

So if you find that kind of job, just tell them you're a pro! gringringringrin it is obvious they don't know much of what they're saying...a Radio station wanting an android app and telling you to know javascript...tell them you're the author of javascript sef. Lwkmd

ProgrammingRe: Javascript Programmers??? by badthinds: 7:59pm On Aug 02, 2017
Dear Muhammedbashir,

You see, if its the normal client-side javascript...that means all your logic would / can be seen by any of your page's client.

Anyway, as a programmer, learn to code your question the way you asked it...

Like this...
" I wan to create a page that only a
dedicated password or text can preview d real
page. "

Using js, this would mean you, maybe using an if/else/switch sstatement like

hey! Wait a minute... I hope you don't intend getting the password from a form?.

You may endup using the prompt() method.

<script>
var password = "letme";
var userInput = prompt("Enter Password", "****"wink ;
if(userInput == password){
//display something
} else {
//something else
}

//Or you can make a list of passwords
various passwords = new Array(){"letme", "grant", "blablabla"};
/*
Perform logic like looping through your passwords array from passwords[0] .. [n] and check them against the prompt()...if seen, modify a previously defined variable to hold the user's state
*/

Now, after all your work...anyone can view your passwords...especially smart programmers...if they see a javascript prompt, they'll raise an eyebrow grin grin.

Finally, why don't you learn aleast PHP?...with it you can get the password from a form and be sure no one would see your logic...aleast not from a source code viewer! wink.

Sincerely, badthinds.

How can i create an edit profile like that of nairaland where user data is displayed in form of a input box and is updated when the update button is pressed using MySQL/PHP.
As I always say...a programmer should always try to code an answer according to his demand.

If you know how to fetch data ( I'm sure you know)

Then fetch it and display it in a box !!!

Eg

echo '<input type="text" name="fullName" value="'. $row[n] .'" />';

...
Did I answer your question?

Sincerely, badthinds

Well said OP.

Anyway, in addition, before delving into machine learning...data space must be put into consideration.

I once thought about something, I wrote the program and sent it off into the web for exploration. Happily, it started...the machine I was using wasnt a great one. Before you know what something began to ring in my head. Space!

I had to abandon the project...for only big companies like google, facebook etc had the kind of space that project needed and I realized why they make headlines a lot in this field.

Many things are possible with / in machine learning, but learning needs big brain space...with big data comes big analysis and big accuracy.

The space stuff is frustrating some of my AI projects sha.

First of all, my apologies for intruding - if that's what you call it.

You see, Mr genius, if things worked that way, I would have had nearly 20 accounts by now. Whenever I get banned or something, I could simply create another and begin to repost nonsense within a short time.

Secondly, people could just create accounts for the sole purpose of quick spam (most of those who endure and wait for the threshold commitment may end up being genuine).

This is by the way, you could pay deaf ears to me and sit waiting for the mentioned. Happy saturday.
