Romance / As a naija guy, would you be upset if your GF cheats on you with a girl? by badthinds: 1:30pm On Sep 13, 2017
I suddenly asked myself this question today.

Have you ever asked yourself?

For me, if it happens, I wouldn't know how to feel.

But if I were a girl and my boyfriend cheats on me with a man...that's a... No no no... Holy ghost fire.
Programming / What You Should Know About Google (great Or Scary?) by badthinds: 9:35am On Aug 30, 2017
I have a penchant for writing "a critical look at"-kind of articles...but for some reasons I didn't entitle this thread that way.

If you're a human or bot reading this article, you should know what/WHO google is.

I want to start by reminding you of the ancient sayings of "The kind of questions you ask tells everything about you" or something like that.

This article is towards the google Search Service

I had been hearing a lot about google and their scary A.Is here and there...speculations and all that. The day it dawned on me was when...

Personal Experience
One day, I signed in to my Gmail just to get a message from google.

They were like "Hey, [strike]badthinds[/strike] - hook up with what you love best..."

Of course, I wasn't surprised how they knew I was a programmer. The worrisome dimension was that they knew the kind of programmer I was, my level of expertise et al.

I wasn't shocked at the end...after I gave myself a critical look grin. I realized all my questions were channeled to google.

To those who use google search alone , the picture I want to paint in your head is the expression you get on your face when you see a creature first time...from another planet.

Anyone can know you completely by the questions you ask - its worse if you ask just one person!

Ever since I had that same feeling...the kind I had about facebook that made me pause/suspend it for over a year now (The only message facebook hasn't sent to me is something like "Na war for you oo...wetin we do you na?? Mtcheew"wink.

The feeling is like thinking Seun and his mad Bot are always watching you..ready to ban. But its worse with google...they indeed know everything about you...Your business emails, when you were searching 'how to know if a girl loves you', your bad football/porn habit, your current job...or whatever it is. Google mail, photos, docs, your phone's local search etc - their aim is to enter every nook and niche in you.

Google is great
1. They know your facial identity(facebook too...theirs is in a wicked way...facebook can scan and recognise the faces of each member of your family - such a way you'll not know if to grin or scream)
2. They know your full real name
3. They know your address
4. They know your personality (internet personality / real life personality)
5. They know what you are upto...where you are...what you are doing.
6. If you use blogger, they already know your writing skills
7. The way you construct your search keywords also tell about your intelligence, somehow.

...

The people I really envy
The people on the internet I sincerely envy and want to be like - are those you can't find anything reasonable about them from the internet. Sound stupid huh?

It is most scary, that the price I would pay, if I want to dump google a bit...Would be too great!.

It should be True that you shouldn't be a bit worried about your privacy security (with google). But who knows? Anyway, you can't help it now. 15 years too late grin grin grin

Nothing is simple about google...even the smart simple logo 'G'.

If google says: "Google is your friend"...there is more to it. It is an intimate one. It knows you more than your girlfriend.

Sincerely, badthinds.

End Note: I'm not hating...who are you to hate google? Google is great and you can't stop using its services. grin

I know i'm calling for something strange - well not stranger than the 'snake threads' I see daily.

I initially started typing this with the title "Nairaland Banning Day" - but there...the feeling came...that bad feeling you get after being banned (even you don't intend posting anything soon)...you feel locked in a room behind Nairaland Strong + Ugly + wicked servers - with Oga Seun grinning at you behind the bars while waiting the sandclock as you try everything possible to gain lalasticlala's attention, maybe to free you - but oh! Boy - he's too busy searching for his food - not even the loudest cry would call him to normal.

For the "Nairaland Banning Day"...i had won't to say, on that day, everyone online would 'commit' a little offence from the river-nile-length of rules you cross each time before hitting the reply/create topic box...but I feared becoming a martyr for instigating such huge damage.

...

Well, back to the matter. My honorable Nairalanders, lets vote on this "Nairaland Snake Day".

As a solicitor for this Snake Memorial, I may be granted the opportunity to set a day (I promise to set it third day after Seun read the poll and judge. The three days for awareness grin ).

So, Honorable pipu of nairaland, what do you think?
Include "I support" in you reply if you do support.

Sincerely, badthinds

Let me answer you like a computer program.

1. 300 - 5% = 285 (True: because 5% of 300 {300/100 * 5} = 285)

2. 150 + 150 - 5% = 292.5 (False: because, obeying precedence, {{150 + 150} - 5%} = 285 NOT 292.5)

I hope you're clear now. grin

Religion / Will God Kill Me For NOT Taking My Deceased Brother's Wife? by badthinds: 10:18am On Aug 14, 2017
Good people of Nigeria. I greet you this morning.

Yesterday, I made a Post. I didn't think about the implications. Later that day, I went meditating on the post.

The post was about the Onan's incidence; where 'God' killed him for not bearing children from his brother's widow...though it didn't look like his fault. (Genesis 38:9).

Now, my question is quite simple.
Even though this may not be a christian tradition. I want to believe God is God of yesterday, today and tomorrow...and he never change because he said so.

Now, will God kill me for not taking my deceased brother's wife?.

Sincerely, I need proficient answers.
(Seun, lalasticlala. Please do the needful, this bothers me seriously.)

kendeville:

You did not see where the Bible said in the verse 10 " And what he did, displeased God, and He the struck him dead" for doing that?
So, lets say God forbid, your brother die from a woman he had no child from, though he tried...and another, and another...you will go forth to marry her and make same mistakes (in this modern day). In other words, so God will kill you for not marrying your brother's wife

What Onan did was an outright breakage of law and that was why God killed him. He was selfish, he didn't want the genealogy of his brother to continue hence God's anger on him.

Deuteronomy 25:5 If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a stranger:her husband's brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and perform the duty of an husband's brother unto her.

6 And it shall be, that the firstborn which she beareth shall succeed in the name of his brother which is dead, that his name be not put out of Israel.
He wasn't selfish...the fact was that he was scared. ...if you read the whole chapter
