The federal high court has jurisdiction on matters involving federal government agencies. The Local government election involves INEC because INEC has to release the voters' register to RSIEC. And the court ordered INEC not to release the register and ordered RSIEC to stand down from conducting the election until the hearing in the case is completed.

INEC obeyed the order but RSIEC disobeyed the order to maintain "status quo ante". The Court only cancelled the election on the basis of RSIEC disobeying the court and rightly so.

As for the jurisdiction, I'll let the lawyers decide. But in my opinion, Since the Election involves INEC which is a federal government agency, the Federal High Court has jurisdiction

The Court lacks subject matter jurisdiction to determine the validity of elections into Local Government Council of a State or the action of RSIEC. The ancillary issue of voters register from INEC does not make INEC the main party in such a suit. Its like a High Court nullifying a Governor's election because the tenure relates to a state where it is situated, that WILL BE MISSING IT COMPLETELY.

Where did a Federal High Court conjure powers to dissolve Local Governments which are subject to the Laws made by a House of Assembly on both election and management . The Judicial rasality is obvious and it will be rubbished at the court of appeal. The police have the powers to prevent a breakdown of Law and Order.

Precedence and Senate culture makes only the majority party to present candidates for those positions who will be voted for by all members from all parties. So numbers of members of each parties do not matter here. However, the rule says if you can't get 2/3 in the first round of voting a second voting of simple majority now take place.
