Culture / Re: Brief History And Culture Of Babur/ Bura People. by bakila: 12:27pm On Sep 22, 2021
Moblord:
BRIEF HISTORY AND CULTURE OF BABUR/ BURA PEOPLE.
According to history there was a mass movement
of people from Yemen in the Middle East to the Nile valley
and by A.D.600.They had dispersed and reached the Sudan
and Sahara. The Babur Bura people together with other
tribes like Luguda are believed to have migrated from
Yemen via Sudan through the Chad Basin [Kanem of Borno
region] to the present Babur Bura land in Borno and
Adamawa state. In Borno state, the Babur Bura people are
found in the following local Government Areas, Biu, Hawul,
Kwaya kusar, Shani and Bayo while in Adamawa State, they
reside mainly in Garkida in Gombi Local Government Area.
Famous Babur Bura villages and towns includes Biu,
Garkida ,Kwajaffa ,Sakwa, Marama, Shaffa, Wandali, Kida,
Miringa, Buratai, Zuwa, Yimirshika ,Hyera ,Dayar, Fumwa,
Azare, Gwaski, Diragina, Yimana, Gwallam, Tiraku,
Shindiffu, Goski, Pela Birni, Wangdang, Bula taw ewe,
Kogu Tashan Alade, Kida, da hang shang etc. Each of this
places have its own unique history. For example the founder
of the present Royal dynasty of Biu is Yamta -ra wala or
Yamta the great. Local tradition asserts that Yamta was the
son of a Mandara woman who already carrying him in her
womb at the time she was taken into the Mai of Borno’s
household. Yamta was brought up as a Kanuri. Yamta
established sizeable kingdom for himself in the area bounded
by the Gongola and the village of Kopchi, with his first
capital at a place called Limbur between Chikorkur and
Mandaragrau. Yamta’s grave is still identified at Limbur.
The Babur people are mostly, the inhabitants of Biu and its
Immediate environment while the Bura people are the rural
inhabitants of the Babur Bura land . The Babur Bura
language is linguistically classified as Afro-Asiatic, Chadic
and Biu-Mandara. The Bura language has great affinity and
similarity with Chibok, Marghi, Higgi , Kilba and Bazza.
The Babur Bura people are found in large numbers in
Borno, Adamawa, Gombe and Yobe States. THE BABUR/
BURA PEOPLE. The various names that the Babur Bura
people are
known with include; Babur, Bura, Babir, Pabir with
subgroups including Bura Pela , Bura Hilhauwul, plain Bura
and plain Pabir. The Babur Bura person can be picked from
the crowd by virtue of his /her intonation, intelligence,
inclination and independence. Most Babur Bura people are
known by either their clan names (thimfwal or thim-
geli) ,individual names ,village or town names. The famous
Babur Bura clan names mostly associated with the Menfolk
include: Gwary, Balami, Mshelia, Bwala, Zoaka, Ndahi,
Mshel’izah, Mshelgaya, Wakawa, Durkwa, Mbaya, Malgwi,
Bassi, Dibal, Shallangwa, Bdliya, Yakda, Tarfa, Hena,
Wudiri, Dahwa, Bumba, Kwari, Banu, Bassi, Mshelwaksha,
Ngadda, Mshelbila, Mshelgaru, Mshelbara, Mshelbula, Thlahal,
etc. The feminine clan names include: Jauni, Zhawa,
Kwatamdia, Kwarmiksa, Zoaka, Hindi etc, Famous Bura
individual names include: Anjili, Anjikwi, Kubli, Kucheli,

person can speak the language fluently, can dance bansuwee
and waksha-waksha, eats and enjoys shaptang ka dana ,
kavila and taraku, understands karapu and narrate makubtha
and generally intelligent and industrious. Try the Babur Bura
person with music from yagandi, tsinza, gullum or ganga
and you will see what I am talking about. BABUR/ BURA
COMMUNITY; CHALLENGES AND CONCLUSION. The
average Babur Bura person is naturally independent,
intelligent and industrious. The challenge is we must unite,
help each other, promote our culture, tradition and language.
We must teach our language to our children. We must
support one another where ever we are and in whatever
position we are .We must raise our political, intellectual and
business consciousness for the sake of ourselves and
children. We give titles and Honours to whom is due. As a
matter of fact I suggest we begin to honour our people with
Bura home grown and indigenous titles and honours like
“Mdirsinsu” “Mdanapwa” “Mdi gigibu” ‘Mdi msira” ‘Mdi
wala” “Mdir jirkur’ “Mdir dthar mda” instead of or in
addition to Hausa titles like ‘Maiyaki” “Masani” “Maigari”
etc. The names of our traditional rulers should be traditional
like ‘Kuthir Biu” instead of Sarkin Biu” ‘Kuthir zara”
instead of “Mai Angwa” and traditional variants of “Ajiya”
“Lawan” ‘Bulama” etc. Villages that have Hausa names like
“Tashan Alade” “Sabon Gari” “Sabon Kasuwa” should have
their Bura names emphasized and used. We should as much
as possible give Bura names to our children. We should
promote and protect the language and culture of our people
beyond our generation and our boundaries.
Please do you have a book on Bura culture?

SECTION 183
The Governor shall not, during the period when he holds office, hold any other Executive Office or paid employment in any capacity whatsoever.

Political Parties are Constitutionally-recognised entities.

Governors Forum is a Pressure Group.
"Or" is disjunctive. The Minority and the right Judgment in my view in Jegede V INEC held and mentioned impunity. Malami is affirming the impunity.

. Yes I did Issues 1to 4 ,decided in favour of the appeallant 5 to 7 in favour of respondent Yet the AC held that the prayers lacked merits and did not in any way affect the result of the election I believ as an SAN Jedege should know what it means to present strong greavances on election matters not to go for a procedural tussle that can never affect the outcome of the election. ........By extension it means he agreed with the result of the election but disagreed that Buni should not have singed the nomination form. An APC member would have been the appeallant like in Zamfara unlike a PDP fighting over another party ' s activity. So in my opinion it is only Jegede who knows what he wants in his appeal.I SEE NO HOPE for him until I am proved otherwise. By the SC which I doubt
"You cannot building something on nothing and expect it to stand" that is the point.

. I am not a politician neither do I have intension to be one.My submission is that convention selects NWC members with the chairman.NEC dissolved the NWC and appointed Buni as the acting Chairman. No court case on it implying acceptability of the party members.Primary election is the constitutional right of a party and all party members are stakeholders in it. Dissatisfied a party member can go to court. I beging to wonder logically why Jegede would use signature procedure to win at the SC and how that will affect Ondo election. He himself is not in APC. You cannot benefit from an issue where you are not a party to it..I share same view with the AC and TB that the petition lacks meritss and it is mere an academic exercise whose outcome cannot affect the Akeredolu victory. In the case of Iheodia the SC established forgery and inconsistency in name identification and in Zamfara the SC established no primary in APC.Imo and Zamfara are tenable cases but in Ondo I believe Jegede should have done better in his approach to his appeal.
Did you read the judgement?

See....you don't seem to understand.

The Appeal Court agreed that Buni shouldn't have signed his form as National Chairman but the issue was the "Non-Joinder issue."

INEC & APC are still filing cross-appeals at the SC to circumscribe its case as pre-election. If it was frivolous, will they?

The only case, APC can arm itself with is Non-Joinder, and defend it with their FULL CHESTS.

Aketi shouldn't sleep oooo, what you are advising was how Ihedioha did his, and he landed as SC-removed Gov.
.
APC, INEC and AKETI filed two appeals and two cross-appeals each a total of six appeals. It is hot.

. The signature of the Nomination form may be abberant but it will not affect the result of the election That is the weakness of his case.He agreed that primary took place but signature is his bone of contention......Funny appeal!
Is Buni allowed by the APC or Nigerian Constitution to be Chairman or an executive of a political party? Be testing the microphone for your party.

I think there is merit in the appeal as rightly stated by the appeal court but it is a pre election case and nonjoinder of governor buni in the case was fatal to its meritocracy
.
Do you know who are necessary parties in an election petition? Was APC not a party?

There is nothing wrong in printing money especially when the country has a huge population to push the inflation over to. China did it, in fact China printed trillions to help build their economy and today they are better for it. If we have good economic managers in Nigeria, they should print trillions of naira to support infrastructure and not for recurrent expenditure.
It was shared as Covid Relief by way of loans, most likely 60% of the debtor do not know where that money is now.

Why didn't they rien in their party men not to give him ticket. Jegede visited Mimiko a few days to ZLP handing over their platform to Ajayi.

As a seasoned analyst you should now that elections are often decided by events from six months to elections not two years. APC is set for a mini implosion in 2023, with events such as what to do with Tinubu and who becomes the party chairman.

That is the reason he projects, his motive is bigger than that since he asked Jegede to run for governor in 2016.
