@ll in da house,can i use my own savings account 2 support my documents with my sponsor's current account documents(statement of account).and if my own company is register, is it compulsory my own account should b a current account.because i'm planning 2 register my company and presently i'm opperating savings account with firstbank of nigeria.please,i wil need ur good advice on this.

ebugirl: Sorry 4 responding late! I included tax clearance certificate in my package, as a matter of fact, I used 3yrs cert. 2010,2011 and 2012 certificates. If u av ur siblings docs @ hand, include it. I included my siblings birth certificates.

adeoflagos: To be honest, from my personal experience it was possible to become a citizen as a student but the process in recent times might have changed. Back then (in early to mid 2000s), you were more likely to become a citizen as a student if you are on a long term study-program, like doing a Masters that is immediately followed by a PhD. It also depend on how early you start the process. You first need to be a landed resident first, and depending on how long you remain living in Canada, at some point you qualify to apply for citizenship. First thing is to be a landed resident first, the citizenship come later. Some provinces (i.e. states) also have separate immigration program that is different from the federal government. For example in the province of Newfoundland, you may become a resident through some special program after studying there. Check the website of the provincial government. But as advised by naijasexy check www.cic.gc.ca. As I indicated above, my experience were from several years ago, and the process is surely different now.

neeyee88: hi, this is my first time on this thread...I didnt even check nairaland at all while I was in Nigeria and all through my canada processing. Now, to your question: My understanding is that, once you have been offerred an admission by the school, payment of your first term tuition fee is very vital and should be parts of the documents you will submit for visa processing. It shows that you are truly committed to the processing. Have you been called for medicals? If not, i will suggest u make the tuition fee payment as soon as possible becos it will add weight to your application. If your school resumes on the 1st of september, you might not have enough time for all this processing but these schools give a month of grace especially for international students becos they are aware of all the immigration issue.
As for the transcript, that should be the least of your problem...just go to your school, apply for transcripts and give them the vac address or you reqeust for the original sudents copy...schools. they will either give you the transcripts sealed and addressed to the Deputy High commissioner, anifowoshe street, VI, agos etc...(assuming you are applying from lagos).
If you you have already finished your NYSC, then just submit your original certificate, they will all be returned to you.
If you have been called for medicals, then you are almost as good as securing your visa but it may still take time becos they always take time to verify everything in canada.
