Bialegend:
Don't forget Otedola the taxi driver turned billionaire courtesy OBJ patronage, or how can anyone forget Alakija, the hairdresser turned richest woman in Africa courtesy IBB patronage? The OP is right, nigeria evil factor have only helped to produce lazy unmerited billionaires from SW and north that didn't work for their money. Give us Biafra and we will through hard work and merit produce 50 world top Forbes rated billionaires.
You must be a Mad man to call Femi Otedola a former taxi driver. A son of a Former Governor of Lagos State is who you are calling a former Taxi driver.

Politics / Re: Nami: FIRS Under Fowler Virtually Collapsed, I Had To Rebuild From Scratch by bakynes3: 3:58pm On Apr 12, 2020
Fowler is a renowned Accountant that increased the tax net of both Lagos and Nigeria as a whole is now who this Nami is blaming. Well we all know Abba Kyari brought him and all he wanted was to reduce Tinubu's influence in Buhari's gunment( like Aboki will say). How do u expect Fowler to meet his target when the economy was in a reccession? People lost jobs and businesses folded up when Buhari assumed office in 2015 ( because of decline in global oil price)and it was not until late 2016 before the oil price began to rise again steadily.
Crime / Lockdown: Law Enforcement Seizing Vehicles by bakynes3: 12:01pm On Apr 11, 2020
Important information: please do not drive if you don't have the pass required in this lockdown, so many DPOs were removed and penalized from their respective stations for allowing vehicular movements which affected Soloki station in Aguda, Lagos. The police in your local stations and Police taskforce from alausa are every where now seizing cars, please do not drive for now. Even alot of medical sales/reps professionals were harassed and arrested while carrying out their essential duties. Even though the President permitted people who carry out essential services to be allowed to move.

Good idea..

But the problem is, one cannot, for example, force everyone to observe the sane measures you have outlined all the time. And there is every likelihood the SARS CoV2 will spread and get out of hand...

And our health care system will get really overwhelmed.
The truth is that the world right now is between the Devil and the deep blue sea. The world cannot simply continue to stay at home. Economies with collapse and when govts run out of money to give as palliatives to their citizens to stay at home, uncontrollable crime and hunger will then set in. As we speak, the US are now doing testing for its citizens on the road. The govt needs to increase its testing capacity and test as many people as possible. Danfo should be cancelled in Lagos for now, the BRTs should disinfect regularly and adhere to all those preventive measures. I am safe in my private Car to work if i maintain social distancing and other measures. The world can simply not stay at home forever.

The best the govt can do is too relax the lock down and ensure strict compliance when it comes to washing of hands, Hand Sanitizers, Social distancing, nose mask and hand gloves. Police road blocks should be on the road to check compliance. Everyone must only be out between 8 am to 6pm so the law enforcement can do their work properly. I bet you Nigeria cannot afford nor sustain food palliatives or cash incentives for people in this country many will die of other illnesses and Hunger as well.

Truly, we do have Covid-19 in Nigeria but i dont believe these new cases that keeps rising everyday. It all a hoax, they should show us patients on TV and blur their faces to prevent stigimitization. Thats why people in the grassroot do not believe in this virus.

Politics / Re: Hadi Sirika: Wike Has No Right To Order Arrest Of Pilots by bakynes3: 3:27am On Apr 09, 2020
This matter is very simple, Wike should know the boundaries of his power. What we should try to understand is, if Wike arrested the pilots (that got FAAN clearnace to land )on the premises of the Airport or arrested them when they got outside of the airport? If he arrested them in the premises of the Airport, then Wike is just a fool because he doesnt have powers on FG property like the airforce base or Airport. But if he did on the road outside of the airport, then he has all right to arrest them. The Company that owns the Helicopter ought to have sent a letter to the Governor informing them of the official duty given to them by the FG, so the pilots can be allowed to move on the streets of Rivers State.

Then stop saying Yorubas own Lag

Everyone migrated there
Are you dumb or what? Didnt you read what i wrote up there. Ife, Ekiti, Egba, Ijebu, Aworis dont they have similar culture, tradition and language with the people of the Oyo empire? We all are now regarded as Yoruba people. The first settlers in Lagos are the Aworis that migrated from Ile-Ife. The first settlers usually own the land except they are disposed by conquest which so far has not happened in Lagos. Every tribe today migrated to where they call Ancestral land. A small group of people migrate to a barren land that suits them and settle there and then expand in population. Some of you are so dumb sha.

Yoruba sub tribe?

When did they create Yoruba or the world Yoruba came into existence
Why asking me a JAMB question. The people of the Old Oyo empire were the ones called Yorubas initially but after the Brtiish the word Yorubas was used for people with similar culture, tradition and language.

The solution is quite simple, continue the season from where it stopped as soon as the world is able to contain the pandemic and find a cure for the virus. All sporting events have to draw a new Calendar. Meaning the European leagues should maybe start their new season in January every year.

Lagos doesn't belong to Yoruba, they are migrants like every other tribes in Nigeria.

All other states they predominantly lived in are underdeveloped.

Ogun, Osun, Ondo, Ekiti etc

Idiot! Every living tribe or race migrated to where they call Ancestral land. Once you are the first settlers, it automatically belongs to that tribe except by conquest they are disposed of that land. So far, no tribe or race has disposed Yorubas of the land. The Aworis a Yoruba Sub tribe were the first settlers in Lagos. So Lagos is Yoruba Land.

Politics / Re: Removal Of Rickety Vehicles From Lagos Roads: Ultimatum Given By State Govt. by bakynes3: 9:17am On Mar 14, 2020
There is a problem with the Nigerian System. In the developed world, all vehicle are subject to Road worthiness test every 3 - 6 months, that test determines which vehicle is fit to ply the road or not and would only be allowed to move on the road when all necessary repairs have been done and vehicle certified road worthy. But in Nigeria reverse is the case,VIO will issue road worthiness pass without even seeing the vehicle or the driver.

Well am sure no country in the west will accept a so called repentant bokoharam terrorist as a Foreign student. Also am sure this is a joke or is today April first already because am sure its a joke. If so, many of these so called Northern politicians and Senators are sponsors of boko haram. There are people who have been law abiding and they get nothing and this Govt want to reward terrorist for killing fellow citizens. Then everyone should form their terrorist group and terrorize the country so they can later repent and travel abroad.

So Nigerian constitution encourages impregnating a girl. And at same time has right over the person under the guidance of the parents.
Mr Oga am tired of arguing on this topic and i have already made my conclusion that most igbos are simply delusional. If Davido wants to take full responsibilty of his Child with or without marriage to Chioma he has a right to joint custody of the Child so far he meets Criteria of taking good care of the child. No Igbos Tradition can change that.

Igbo customs existed for centuries before lugard and his ashawo wife cobbled your nigeria together under the influence of tombo liquor.
The house where the nigeria was cobbled together is now in shatters, rotten beyond redemption to reflect the hopeless state of the contraption they sewed up together.

So yes Igbo customary laws superceeds you Nigerian law that is less than a 100 years old. My grandfather is older than the so-called nigerian constitution..No living man is older than Igbo customary laws.

Another name for nigeria is 'Tufiakwa'.
I just dey look u dey laugh. So you think Yoruba people go sitdown dey look una claim Davido Son or you think we no get culture too. Or when the Court pronounce Davido as his righful father and Mobile Police Men and Soldiers are given orders to bring the Child for Davido's joint custody your stupid tradition will stand. When soldiers decend on that your stupid village you will know how far.

the father of the child is one issue, who takes custody of the child is another issue....DNA proves the former, the court uses its discretion to decide the latter........that one is the father of a child doesn't automatically grant one custody of that child
You are right but Davido the Father wants to accept responsibility on his Son. The court will grant them Joint Custody and the Child will bear his Father's last name.

I have come to the conclusion most of the Igbos on nairaland believe the Igbo Customs and Tradition supercedes the Nigerian Constitution. Stark illiterates and 18th Century Villagers.

The way some Igbo people talk on this forum is so annoying. So you think Igbo Culture Supersedes the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria? You guys must really be foolish. You think Nigeria is your small village where that culture is taken seriously?

See this Child's paternity is between a Yoruba Man and an igbo Woman and can maybe stand if both are Igbos. You think Davido's Family with all their wealth will open their eyes and see another man claim his child or you think the Yoruba culture too doesnt matter here. Una dey joke.

This is what i recommended then before Jonathan went to share the Power infrastructures among his cronies. Give it to the likes of Simens, General Electric, Gazprom and other foreign Power companies. We are guaranteed of improved Power supply but it will come at a high cost. These foreign companies would build their own infrastructures along side the existing NEPA infrastructures so that people who cant afford the foreign ones can still go with the cheaper and non-consistent NEPA.
