BusinessRe: Work Begins On Onitsha Shoprite. by Balkan(m): 10:07pm On Jun 29, 2013
Donchyke39: At last, construction work has started on the Onitsha branch of popular South African retail company Shoprite. Onitsha, the famous trading town, is the economic capital of Anambra State in South-East Nigeria.

Speaking today during an inspection of the project, the state governor, Mr. Peter Obi, promised that his administration would expand parts of the road in the area to further widen the access road to the International Shopping Mall.

He said the expansion of the road would be extended to the Onitsha General Hospital axis to enhance free-flow of traffic in the area, as well as to complement the on-going upgrading of infrastructure in Onitsha and environs.

The governor expressed satisfaction with the level of work at the kick off of the project and assured that all necessary infrastructures would be put in place to ensure smooth take-off of the facility. He announced that an Amusement Park would also be built in the area. The shopping mall is being executed under Public-Private Partnership (PPP).

Welcoming Governor Obi, a representative of the collaborating firm, Mr. Osita Okonkwo, assured that the shopping mall would be completed on schedule and according to specifications. He commended the governor for awarding the contract for the access road to the mall.

Also speaking, a representative of the Shoprite Group, Mr. Gerald Frits, said that when functional, the mall would reduce the cost of goods as they would be working with local farmers and suppliers in the state.

Frits noted that the facility would also provide a lot of employment opportunities, and commended the vision of Governor Obi in attracting high class investments to the state.

this project is Onitsha city mall not shoprite, take note. Shoprite is just a tenant.

Sunny_bobo: Biafra of the mind is the way to go and not necessarily a geographical Biafra. Meanwhile, what percentage of FCT do Yorubas own?
Oilsoup are not yet through with owambe. They are waiting for another Biafra war so that they can grab all the Igbo asset and give the £20. I just de laugh.

mens dept: In a way I see your point. But looking at history and frankly common sense, as long as the Igbo are scattered in the North and West making their "wealth", they will be prime targets for attack, and in fact, vulnerable to annihilation.

Every two years they are killed in their thousands n the North, and in the West, abused, mocked, and even shot by folks that cant even count to ten in their own language. MEanwhile, the East has and had terrible governors- Mbadinuju, Nnamani, Egwu, Udenwa, Kalu, and now worse ones starring THEO ORJI, ELECHI, weak man Obi, sick man Chime, party crosser Okorocha, and the worse of National and state assembly members.

This has turned the East into a very "Nigerian" area with no world class structures and/or institutes and if situation repeats as it were in 1966, Biafra has already lost.
my brother, your are ranting from the side of a jealous dude. The Jews are scattered all over the world, hated by all but the are the richest and the most feared race in the world. The Igbos don't care of your chagrin and your feelings about them. You lazy boy is waiting for another war for you to grab their ppty. Keep waiting boy. It's funny you oil soup people think its only Igbos that are being killed by BH. Your brothers are being killed everyday by BH but your cowardly tribe cannot even make a noise about it. Just like the manner the allowed their brother who won a free and fair election ever in Ngeria conducted by an Igbo man to be killed by abokis like a chicken , I even thought heavens will let loose then but behold in their cowardly many will retrieve to their shelf.
Kill an Igbo man the whole media will carry it but kill an oil soup man nobody hears about it. That's how powerful Igbos are. Keep wanting for another civil war so that you can grab another Igbo property. The ones you grabbed before have bought back . The same statistic goes for Lagos. You can stop a moving train boy.
PoliticsRe: El-rufai: Igbos Own 73% Of Abuja Land by Balkan(m): 1:26am On Jun 24, 2013
It is understatement to say Igbos own only 73% of properties in Abuja. That estimate is conservative however, let the oil soup people keep deluding themselves. Igbo president is not the issue now cos. Igbos are far better than those tribes that have ruled Nigeria for decades. You can imagine if their was never a Nigerian civil war, I don't think any oil soup man would have a place in Lagos. They would have been living in osun ekiti and the rest. Politics in Nigeria is not our problem. A president is just one man. He can only empower few of his friends. The Igbos are doing the right thing. Why other tribes are fighting to be president, they busy acquiring wealth.

We shall see. Biafra must conquer Nigeria not by physical war but economic supremacy. Biafra will never live Nigeria for Anybody. We have come to stay. The Biafra of today is not the Biafra of territory. All hail Igbos, all hail Biafra .

CyberG: ibos are a really inferior people! was it not you belly-aching over another nigerian neurosurgeon who was recently elevated in the USA? You losers come fishing for trouble like you did during the ill conceived civil war that led to the death of 3 M ibos. But when others respond, you claim you are victims, no one wants you in nigeria, bla bla bla. I pity your poor soul though because like the other ibo man whose lust of money would not let him serve his country as minister of power but had to conflict his sworn duties with pedestrian filthy lucre! at the end of the day, orji still reports to a chairman (Rasheed), who reports to a president, who all report to country of 160+ M people in which the ibos are minority out of the 160 M+.
MUMU like you. Orji runs the company every day. He reports to the minister not the chairman. The board reports to the minister of finance. The chaiman does not have a single power because he reports to an Igbo woman who appointed her. He can not tel the MD how to run the institution.

What does Aboki know.? They are the same with oil soup. You can't trust them with money.

patriot2: If igbo do not want to secede then they should stop shouting secession at every occasion, if you love yorubaland then start showing some respect, I do not think we need an other civil war, but if you disrespect your host too much then the chicken might come home to roost. Phrases like :" Lagos is a no man's land" is so provocative to the yorubas that if said too much or too loud it might cause a civil war and this time it will be for igbo to secede that yoruba will be fighting. If you love Nigeria then just say so, stop vexing everybody who is not igbo.
My fellow Igbos, I have said it this time without number that Igbos in Nigeria are the reason why Nigerian is called the Gaint of Africa. Why do you think ofenmnu people are jealous of the Igbos? The only reason is because we are superior to them.
They can only be jealous. My own take is for us to ignore this dregs of humanity called oilsoup.

Lagos is an annex of Igbo land, if you like call it land grabbing that's your wahala. We will never relent untill they become tenants in Lagos. Let them speed up their bigotry
It does not change the obvious. You only throw sticks to trees that bear fruit and ignore the trees that are fruitless . Why do you think they only attack Igbos in this forum?
The other tribes are not their problem.

I am a proud Igbo man. oilsoup people can only rant and diatribe because it's a gift of nature to them, it does not change the palpable situation. The economic power is in the
Hand of Igbos. Let them keep up with their prejudice and continue to be in state of pique.

Fetid set of lineage called oilsoup. You guys stink! Your genealogical tree need to be examined. When are you to put a stop to this your asperity and acrimony?
I have said it here that your ranting can not take you any where, I know some of you have Igbo friends they can help you out to set up a business that can keep you
busy and make you get a life ok?

Lagos is not a yoruba land. LAGOS does not sound Yoruba. it happened to be in the west.

Atouba: All for Chief M.K.O. Abiola

There are seven Nigerians I ho;ld in very high esteem with just only one of the living.

1. Kaduna Nzeogwu for being a young fearless leader with vision. The only non hausa/fulani to have held the whole north captive and in fear for days

2. Chief Ilodibe(Ekene Dili Chukwu): To have risen from nought to riches and fame via hardwork

3.Chief Gani Fawehinmi: No Nigerian has ever been so consistent and dogged in fighting injustice
4. Chief Osita Osadebe: Songs are very inspirational quality of which we still cant find till date

5.Chief MKO Abiola: For remaining true to his words of never betraying the millions of young Nigerians that queued for hours to vote him to power and those who lost their lives defending the mandate on his behalf

6. Major Kurubo: The head of Air force who fought and died gallantly along Ikeja railwas line near the cantonment to prevent the July 1966 coup. He preferred to die defending the easterners when he could have quitely sworn allegiance to the leaders of the coup being a South Southerner.

The only living legend is Ebenezer obey.
just being curious, do we have a rank like MAJOR in tha airforce?

234GT: Well said senator. MKO never got his wealth through legitimate means. He was a thief and everyone knew that. His reign could even have been worse than Abacha`s rule.
You never know the true character of a man until you entrust him with power.
And probably, God was trying to protect Nigerians from the kleptomanic tendencies of MKO.
Name one Yoruba rich man today that did not still from the government before being rich. They all end up shamefully. I cant even remember any of his investments that is still alive today.

Thanks my senetor, though this came quite a bit too late.
